No. No. No. Two wrongs don't make a right. What if her cheating results in pregnancy? It's not just right! |
U'iidhuka bikalimatillah taamatin minkulli shaytaanin wa'amatin wa minkulli 'aynin laamah. meaning: I commend you to the protection of Allah's perfect words from every evil, vermin and every evil eye. |
Alhamulilah! I feel so elated as if I know Ify personally. Congrats girl! May the little one and his elder ones be the joy of your heart and a pride to Islam. Give this to him, from me: U'iidhuka bikalimatillah taamatin minkulli shaytaanin wa'amatin wa minkulli 'aynin laamah. |
chaircover:True that. Always right on point. ![]() efisher:Don't mind me. I seem to be a bit pessimistic in this area having seen so many rotten marriages. So I asked because I felt a marriage must have stood the test of time for a spouse to answer that question. 6years is quite an age though. But as CC said, everyday counts. Cheers. |
iice:Seconded Not that he'll say he's home but will be busy with BB or laptop all through. |
Hey! You guys should speak English, let's comprehend what you're saying. |
efisher:How old is your marriage? |
fatpitan:very true. Theere's always something to worry about. The best is to do without them. Use the money U'll pay a househelp to get the necessary gadgets e.g dishwasher, washing machine etc. Or get someone who'll come in twice/thrice in a week to work and leave. |
Yes. Won ma nkanra. It's not easy. |
@Justdtruth Very important contributions. Jazakallah khayran. |
Please read Surah Insan, Chapter 76 from verse 1. (That's if you're talking about human creation) |
You're still on this land issue? If you still haven't got your money after all these while, I advise you just leave your 'anty' and hope for the best from God. I doubt if you'll ever get the money back. The woman is broke. She's spent the money and it's unlikely she can pay back anytime soon. such is life. |
Cases abound to justify that courtship has little to do to the success or otherwise of a marriage. I have two brothers both of whom courted for 7 and 9 years respectively. The one who courted for nine years is divorced now, the one of 7years usually have family members going to settle quarrel every now and then. I've got another family member who met his wife in February and they got married in June. Everyone complained that they were rushing things. It's been 6years into the marriage now. I still admire them and their lifestyle. I'm not saying people shouldn't court, but it should be for a reasonable period of time and courtship shouldn't be expected to be the trial period of the marriage. It just doesn't work that way. A lot of people pretend during courtship. |
Plutarch:You can't compare marriage with exams. In the latter, everything is almost predictable and there's an answer to every question. Marriage isn't that straightforward. If it goes according to your comparison, then those who have longer courtships will have more successful marriages. But obviously, it's not always like that. |
Read Surah Jum'a Chapter 62:9-10 |
wa alaykum salam, Working on Friday isn't haram. We are enjoined to leave whatever business we're doing during the time of jum'a and go for the jum'a prayer after which we're encouraged to go back to our work/business. ifyalways: |
tjskii:My thought exactly. |
will I ever believe that story? |
naijafrend:Exactly. |
And talking about 'regularly or on occassion'. While some Muslim adult do not mind not praying in the mosque, they are only concerned about praying but don't really care whether they do it in the mosque or in their homes, others are mindful of the obligation to pray in the mosque but occassionally fall short of this. Perhaps due to the nature of their job or other inexcusable reasons. The bottom line is that a Muslim must strive to pray the 5 obligatory ones in the mosque and not give excuses for not doing so. @Topic please also include how to correct mistakes made during salah, or example, the baadi and qabli. Jazakumullah khayran. |
My best understanding of the above is: A muslim adult MUST pray all of the obligatory prayers in the mosque throughout his life except he has a genuine reason not to pray in the mosque e.g he was sleeping at the time of the congregational prayer, he's ill and perhaps on hospital admission etc. |
Sure, there's life after death. Immediately a person dies, another life begins, first in the grave where the person'd be till the time of resurrection. Then on judgement day, the next life of a person will be determined i. e heaven (paradise) or hell. Also, there are many verses in the quran and authentic hadith to that effect. |
Do they have to pretend to like each other? I believe a woman can have a mother-daughter relationship with her MIL if she goes into marriage without preconceived notions about the MIL. My mum has a great relationship with her DILs. They all treat me as their own sister and vice versa. But I agree that in any of such relationships, too much of familiarity breeds contempt. Good fences they say, breed good neighbours. |
Tgirl4real:Congrats Tgirl. May God give you all that it requires to bring up and be exemplary parents to your child(ren). |
Could she have won if there was no rigging? NO! HEr taking GEJ to court is part of the politics. She was just there initially as a distraction anyways! |
Beaf:Stop the insults. The woman isn't just someone else's wife. She's a first lady of the country for crying out loud. She represents Nigeria. If she thinks the way you do, then she should have sat in her husband's house and speak her 'English' with her kids or better still, practise the skills on her subjects rather than coming out to disgrace herself and the entire nation in public. Open another thread for your concern. Don't derail this one. |
Buhari is a better choice, IMO. GEJ isn't so intelligent to be Nigerian's president. he should go back to being vice. He fits better there. ![]() |
Yeah. I registered yesterday. Whether I'll vote or not is another issue entirely. ![]() |
I just registered yesterday. Didn't have the time to go for the long queue so when someone hinted that there was less crowd, I went and it was so. Infact, there ws only one person there who came to register. There're two sets of registrers at the station. The 1st one, a lady and a guy told me they were on break and so wouldn't register me. the other guy guy said I shouldn't mind them. i went to him and it didn't take more than 5 minutes to do the whole thing. Meanwhile, some folks at Ekiti say that the printer still hangs and they're asked to come back two days after for their cards. |
