FamilyRe: Should A Woman Have an Affair Just Because Her Husband Is Having an Affair too by zayhal(f): 10:10pm On Feb 17, 2011
No. No. No. Two wrongs don't make a right. What if her cheating results in pregnancy? It's not just right!

Alhamulilah!

I feel so elated as if I know Ify personally. Congrats girl!

May the little one and his elder ones be the joy of your heart and a pride to Islam.

Give this to him, from me:

I dont think it really matters how long he has been married. Ive seen marriages of 3 months come to an end so IMO every single day past the "I do day" is indeed a blessing
True that. Always right on point. wink

efisher:
@ Zayhal, I have been married for over 6 years now. I dont know why you asked but I think 6 years is enough for me to say and mean what I have said. I also know of those who have been married for more than 30 years and have the same story. I look forward to having an even better story 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 --- (as God says) years from now. We have gone through all manner of challenges together and I can tell you that it takes a great deal of understanding to come to this conclusion.  There are those that cant even stand each other after 1 month of marriage. Different strokes for different folks.

So can you tell us why you asked? cool
Don't mind me. I seem to be a bit pessimistic in this area having seen so many rotten marriages.

So I asked because I felt a marriage must have stood the test of time for a spouse to answer that question. 6years is quite an age though. But as CC said, everyday counts.

Cheers.

fatpitan:
God help us women, i wish we can cope without them. Even if you trust your husband do u trust them. most of them are already sexually active if your husband don't look at them, they seduce your husband if you allow them & your children is another issue they either molest them or corrupt them.
very true. Theere's always something to worry about. The best is to do without them. Use the money U'll pay a househelp to get the necessary gadgets e.g dishwasher, washing machine etc. Or get someone who'll come in twice/thrice in a week to work and leave.

FamilyRe: 620k Involved, I Want My Money Back Or The Land by zayhal(f): 7:43pm On Feb 02, 2011
You're still on this land issue?

If you still haven't got your money after all these while, I advise you just leave your 'anty' and hope for the best from God. I doubt if you'll ever get the money back. The woman is broke. She's spent the money and it's unlikely she can pay back anytime soon.

such is life.
FamilyRe: Is Courtship Before Marriage Important? by zayhal(f): 11:49am On Feb 02, 2011
Cases abound to justify that courtship has little to do to the success or otherwise of a marriage. I have two brothers both of whom courted for 7 and 9 years respectively. The one who courted for nine years is divorced now, the one of 7years usually have family members going to settle quarrel every now and then. I've got another family member who met his wife in February and they got married in June. Everyone complained that they were rushing things. It's been 6years into the marriage now. I still admire them and their lifestyle.

I'm not saying people shouldn't court, but it should be for a reasonable period of time and courtship shouldn't be expected to be the trial period of the marriage. It just doesn't work that way. A lot of people pretend during courtship.

Plutarch:
Is it good to prepare well b4 going 4 exams?
You can't compare marriage with exams. In the latter, everything is almost predictable and there's an answer to every question. Marriage isn't that straightforward. If it goes according to your comparison, then those who have longer courtships will have more successful marriages. But obviously, it's not always like that.

wa alaykum salam,

Working on Friday isn't haram. We are enjoined to leave whatever business we're doing during the time of jum'a and go for the jum'a prayer after which we're encouraged to go back to our work/business.

ifyalways:
Asalam alekuim @ all.I was wondering if there is any sura or maybe hadith that gave a detailed account of the creation?Besides does anyone of us see Friday as a holy day and therefore working on friday a haram?

IslamRe: Mistakes Of Salaah by zayhal(f): 9:52pm On Jan 28, 2011
And talking about 'regularly or on occassion'. While some Muslim adult do not mind not praying in the mosque, they are only concerned about praying but don't really care whether they do it in the mosque or in their homes, others are mindful of the obligation to pray in the mosque but occassionally fall short of this. Perhaps due to the nature of their job or other inexcusable reasons.

The bottom line is that a Muslim must strive to pray the 5 obligatory ones in the mosque and not give excuses for not doing so.

@Topic

please also include how to correct mistakes made during salah, or example, the baadi and qabli. Jazakumullah khayran.
IslamRe: Mistakes Of Salaah by zayhal(f): 9:43pm On Jan 28, 2011
My best understanding of the above is:

A muslim adult MUST pray all of the obligatory prayers in the mosque throughout his life except he has a genuine reason not to pray in the mosque e.g he was sleeping at the time of the congregational prayer, he's ill and perhaps on hospital admission etc.
IslamRe: Is There Life After Death by zayhal(f): 8:46pm On Jan 28, 2011
Sure, there's life after death.

Immediately a person dies, another life begins, first in the grave where the person'd be till the time of resurrection. Then on judgement day, the next life of a person will be determined i. e heaven (paradise) or hell.

Also, there are many verses in the quran and authentic hadith to that effect.
FamilyRe: How Long Should The Wife And Mother-in-law Stay Under Same Roof by zayhal(f): 8:31pm On Jan 27, 2011
Do they have to pretend to like each other? I believe a woman can have a mother-daughter relationship with her MIL if she goes into marriage without preconceived notions about the MIL.

My mum has a great relationship with her DILs. They all treat me as their own sister and vice versa. But I agree that in any of such relationships, too much of familiarity breeds contempt. Good fences they say, breed good neighbours.

Could she have won if there was no rigging? NO! HEr taking GEJ to court is part of the politics. She was just there initially as a distraction anyways!

I marvel at the really low IQ quite a few NLers display shamelessly. Instead of discussing real political issues, they crowd on someone elses wife. She isn't married to you, so whats your problem?
Why leave aside crucial issues like politicians dealing in drugs below and sink to gutter levels discussing another mans wife?

The trashy morality of some NLers really beats the crap out of me. embarassed

Stop the insults. The woman isn't just someone else's wife. She's a first lady of the country for crying out loud. She represents Nigeria. If she thinks the way you do, then she should have sat in her husband's house and speak her 'English' with her kids or better still, practise the skills on her subjects rather than coming out to disgrace herself and the entire nation in public.

Open another thread for your concern. Don't derail this one.
PoliticsRe: NL Official Presidential Opinion Poll by zayhal(f): 10:57pm On Jan 26, 2011
Buhari is a better choice, IMO. GEJ isn't so intelligent to be Nigerian's president. he should go back to being vice. He fits better there. cool

PoliticsRe: INEC Voter Registration: Eyewitness Accounts by zayhal(f): 10:36pm On Jan 26, 2011
I just registered yesterday. Didn't have the time to go for the long queue so when someone hinted that there was less crowd, I went and it was so. Infact, there ws only one person there who came to register.

There're two sets of registrers at the station. The 1st one, a lady and a guy told me they were on break and so wouldn't register me. the other guy guy said I shouldn't mind them. i went to him and it didn't take more than 5 minutes to do the whole thing.

Meanwhile, some folks at Ekiti say that the printer still hangs and they're asked to come back two days after for their cards.
