u guys are too ignorant and backwards, by thinking so u are belittling yourselves to the poor level of intelligence of an average African, countries are looking for more boundaries to add to their land and u are here looking for a way to reduce yours.
That's exactly what Lugard was thinking when he came from Europe to bastardise you with the name Nigerian, the slave name of your white masters which you still proudly answer to in recognition of your slavery status. Look, people who are looking for freedom and those who want to continue with slavery have nothing to talk about

Blured:
With the current and persistent agitation from some region in the country, calling for the break up of the country into sections, it is important to know that this call has more negative consequences than benefits if actualized and it is the peculiar boast of our country Nigeria, that her happiness is alone dependent on the collective wisdom and virtue of her citizens and does not rest on the exertions of any individual but a collective effort from us all.

I know the country is indeed sickened with unfavorable conditions like unstable power supply, corruption and insecurity but the call for the country's break up should not be seen as a solution to these problems but rather will make things worse because we started the journey together and we can see it through as one if collective effort is applied towards the development of the country.

The unity our country Nigeria, should not be destroyed because of diverse ethnicity and religion. No matter where we come from or no matter our religion, we are one and let’s live together.

You owe your country a lot, because it gave you a chance, schooling, independence of action, opportunity of service and honour. If you have all these at your disposal, then what else do you wish for?

So my good friends of Nigeria, let us be wise and remember that the grass will not be greener on the other side if Nigeria eventually breaks up. Let’s work together and see ourselves through this time of trials. God bless Nigeria.

Go to Britain and find the Lord Lugard that made you a Nigerian. Tell him that Igbos are going to Biafra and you need him to give you another country. Maybe he will help you out.

I don't think this thread is particularly necessary. Federalism is never coming back to Nigeria. How does anyone think that the Northerners will ever allow federal fiscal policy, resource contol and regional autonomy which are the hallmarks of federalism to return? The North are immensely benefiting from the current unitary system that is dragging Nigeria back into the stone ages. They need this unitary system like fish needs water and they will fight to keep it as it is. The only way back to federalism is the secession of all Igbos and the minorities that agree with us from Nigeria, possibly into a confederation.
Politics › Re: We Wanted To Break Out Of Nigeria Peacefully And Legally But... -- Ipob Elders by zendy: 3:44pm On Nov 24, 2015
I respect the council of elders for trying to achieve Biafra through legal means using the BILIE human rights initiative. Unfortunately for them, they are trying to get Biafra the civilised way in an uncivilised country like Nigeria. That's why Nnamdi Kanu broke away from them. He warned them that Nigerians only respect "rough approach" and he was right. These people have been court since 2013, nobody even hears anything about their case, but in a very short time, Kanu has galvanised millions to come out on the streets marching for freedom. Biafra has become the most talked about topic everywhere.

Fellow Biafrans, Nigerians do not respect "gentlemans approach" in doing things! That is why we must keep marching, using civil disobedience, hoisting and wearing our Biafran colours and keeping up the pressure until the Nigerian state agrees to a referendum in the SS/SE area!

Long live Biafra!

oh is that so... how many of your local government chairmen or ward councillors have you held responsible for looting??
How can you hold them accountable when they have the backing of Abuja? How can you get then when they have the Nigerian police who could be northerners? Do you know that in advanced countries, any citizen with irrefutable proof of a crime can conduct something called a 'citizens arrest'? I can't do the same in Nigeria. But in Biafra, the police man is going to be Igbo, Ijaw,Ibibio etc. Those are like to protect an Igbo politician who is stealing. What I'm trying to say is that a smaller country can be far more manageable than a much larger country where anything goes.

OBAFEMIawolowo:
My mom being a delta Igbo, I have to still make my Igbo maternal brothers understand some facts about them. I just have seven advice that will move Igbo nation forward wherever they want to be (either Biafra or Nigeria).

1. Stop competing and start cooperating

2. Drop your arrogance and start being friends with other parts of Nigeria.

3. Forget about ikwerre, opobo and ijaw people, they don't like you.

4. Every Igbo man should make alaigbo his first line of investment ( no one will developyour land for you)

5. Start respecting your host communities outside alaigbo, ezeigbo of akure was flogged for his arrogance.

6. Stop building mansions outside and start building industries in alaigbo.

7. Be your brother's keeper and respect other Nigerians.

The IsraeIi control american economy today because they are cooperative, america today cannot emanate laws that will go against the Israelis because they contribute to sponsor any emerging president.

MY LAST ADVICE FOR NDIGBO
You may not succeed in Biafra if you haven't solve the issue of intra-ethnic segregation and start cooperating. Biafra will end up being a joke if an anambra man cannot see an IMO man as a brother or an ngwa man detests an Onitsha man.

Stop competing and start cooperating, Igbo will be very great with this.
Your advice is not needed or wanted when it comes to the issue of self determination and freedom. What kind of advice is relevant about people seeking to be free?

We have given Nigeria a 55 year "trial run" and it is self evident that it is a waste of time. Time to try something new to see if it might work. As for the Ikwere and Opobos, two Igbo speaking communities. It might be true that they hate Igbos, but that is not the important issue. The important issue or question is, faced with choice of leaving with into Biafra and staying in Nigeria, which would the Ikwere and Opobo man choose? Do the minorities of Southern Nigeria hate the Igbos enough to prefare staying with Hausas and Yorubas in Nigeria? You should try asking them and see what they say.

Just like I've always said and will keep saying, the SE, SS, SW and a good chunk of the NC wants regional autonomy. The only zones that are against this are the NW and NE. However, the NW and NE are NOT RESPONSIBLE for the non-actualisation of regional autonomy; rather the foolishness of the southern zones in putting aside their flimsy differences and uniting in this purpose of fighting for regionalism, this foolishness is the reason why regional autonomy has not been achieved since 1970.

Just my little contribution...
You still don't get it. What do you think the problem of Nigeria is? Why do you think there was a civil war? What is responsible for much of the strife in the country? It's about "Oil". That single product affects how all Nigerians think and reason. How do you think that the NC will support federalism? Most of the states in that region are poor and already suffering even with federal allocation. You think they are going to support a project that will cut them off oil revenue and imporverish them all they more? Not a chance. The North will always come together to vote out any proposal for a return federalism at the national assembly with their numerical strenght. Even if the NC wanted federalism, you still need 2/3 votes to scale through and the NE/NW might have the desired leverage to block it. Forget any thought about true federalism in Nigeria, it just won't happen.

And this childish court case, if not handled childishly, could light up a childish fire......
Have your heard of people being arrested for either defamation, slander or libel in civilised countries? Those are purely civil matters where police don't get involved.

Charging someone for belonging to unlawful soceity? In a democracy that should celebrate freedom of association? What the heck is criminal intimidation?

I'm no Lawyer but the charges are downright laughable. If it was a civilised country, the judge would have thrown out the case ,awarded Kanu money and fined the DSS for wasting courts time with such a childish case.

To be honest, I didn't know there was any Yoruba man anywhere in the world with an ounce of self determination inside him like the writter of this piece. We Biafrans are asking for a referendum not war. The reason why people like Kanu prefare war is because he does not believe Nigeria will agree to a referendum. Something similar happend during the civil war when Ojukwu kept proposing referendum so that the bloodshed would end but Gowon kept insisting we must all be "one Nigeria". It was Gowons "Nigeria by force!" mentality that cost 3 million lives. The only thing that I didn't like about what he wrote is where he said that Biafra was Ojukwus 'individual effort'. People like my father who was a Biafran soldier did not fight because of the beauty of Ojukwus face or Ojukwus eloquence. They fought because they didn't believe in Nigeria and desired the freedom of their own country. Biafra was not Ojukwus individual effort, no one single man takes on the might of the Nigerian army and holds them for 3 years.
Politics › Re: # Are They Heros Without Actualisation Of Biafra? by zendy: 8:45am On Nov 24, 2015
All of these men are the ones benefiting from the rotten entity called Nigeria. They are the ones who will not want Biafra to come.

One of the beauties of Biafra is that because it will be much smaller than Nigeria, nobody can steal from another. Thieves don't usually steal from their immidiate community. If any of these men stole money in Biafra, any of us could trace them to their villages to call them to order, especially the Igbo ones. But if they stole in Nigeria none of us can go to Abuja to get them.
Politics › Re: Hypocrisy Of Anti-biafra Nairalanders by zendy: 11:07pm On Nov 23, 2015
The main hypocrisy of anti-Biafrans or Nigerians is their belief that Lord Lugard has the right to declare them Nigerians but Ojukwu or Kanu has no right to declare Biafra.

So the White man can come all the way from Europe to Africa to declare you people Nigerianshuh

But it is shameful for indigenous Igbo men like Kanu or Ojukwu to declare their people Biafra?

Since the beginning of General Mohammadu Buhari's regime, the igbos have been bringing up this issue of Biafra republic and probably a Biafran war II, claiming to have been regarded the least in the Nigerian government and mainly because of their oil Rich Land which the rest don't have, well, I guess they are only looking at this issue from a myopic point of view, why don't we look at the benefits of one Nigeria rather than a biafra and a Nigeria. The facts remains if Nigeria were to be divided
1.we wont be africas largest economy
2. We wont have won the fifa u-17 world cup
3. Nollywood would no longer exist
4. We wont have won the #kenyansvsnigerians twitter war grin
5. Most importantly, we wont be giant of Africa any longer
6. (I leave it up to nairalanders to complete)

TO all my Igbo brothers, let's forget about biafra, and let's all work to build a better Nigeria, probably, the giant of the world,
Here I bring you some heart breaking pictures of the biafran war (1967-1970) to show you all that war is a senseless and unnecessary thing.
Are you really this daft? What is the point of your being Africa's largest economy when you have 70% porverty rate? I would rather we were Africa's smallest economy but people live well. Who cares about being giant of Africa? How is that going to reduce the price of Garri?

What makes you even more silly is that you don't know that it is because of these pictures that you should be supporting Biafra. Who do you think starved all these children and made all these people suffer? It was your terrorist state of Nigeria. It was Nigeria that came down to East where these people were living peacefully to commit all this evil and killed millions of them, yet, you are supporting Nigeria.

You are a disgrace

Of course, as the Nigerian you are. Doesn't matter when Igbos ask for their sovereignty back. Doesn't matter if it was during the tenure of Shagari or George Bush Sr. The important thing is that we are asking for that which is ours. Igbos and Biafrans never signed up to Nigeria, we were forced it into it and we ask to be let out peacefully. Expression of hate could be so interesting. Unfortunately for you, you were born a Nigerian cos there's high possibility that you are not 55yrs old, which means you were born after the name was created. So whether you like it or not, no matter how you hate the name "Nigeria" and embrace your "Republic of Biafra". You can not erase the fact that you're a Nigerian.

Also whats this about slavery? Are you still enslaved? Do you feel like a slave in Nigeria? Well I don't feel enslaved. And the name Nigeria sweetens me everywhere i go that I'm always in a hurry to come back before schedule. If Lugard didn't give us the name, God will send someone else to do it and it will still be same name "NIGERIA". Have you seen a nameless country anywhere? I bet not.
You remind me so much about the descendant of African slaves in America. Before they were emancipated, some of them really believed that since they were born slaves, they had to live and die as slaves
