RomanceRe: Trust Issues, Should I Continue The Relationship? by 9jaRealist: 7:52pm On Apr 04, 2021
elisha820:
Happy new week everyone.
I decided to bring this up on this platform cos I want candid and lucid advice. I be brief on this.

I am a Pharmacist working with one of the government owned health care centre. There's this girl I've been with for more than 2years now. She is a law student in her penultimate year in university. Like most Nigerian relationships, we started with lot of distractions and lacked commitment but over time it remained just the two of us.

At the beginning of this year 2021 we made relationship goals and decided to be transparent to each other. We shared every secrets, went through each others phone and asked questions where necessary. All went well until last month when I went to check on her in the university, asked for her phone as usual wanted checking her whatsapp. She didn't let me, said till she comes for weekend when we'll have good time for that. I was surprised, had my doubts but let it slide. She later came for the weekend, I acted as if I don't care anymore and that was it.

Similar event happened last night after she went through my phone (whatsapp, facebook, twitter etc) cos she has my password but I don't have hers. I unexpectedly asked for her phone too, she said it's late and we should leave it till am back from weekend call later in the evening. I kept my cool last night but was bent on seeing her chat this morning not until she bursted into tears. I ain't perfect, have my flaws but I am free spirited whenever I am around her. It normal for a lady to have lots of guys in her dm, but I think it's a problem when it becomes secretive to your partner.

Should I play along, start having secrets too or what's your thought guys.

NB: I skipped so many things, decided being straight to the point.

Lalasticla...I remain loyal, hoping you'll do the needful smiley
INSECURE people shouldn’t be in relationships...
If you don’t trust her for any reason whatsoever, then move on.

So the same “God” that supposedly “favored” Nigeria...
Also put rogue, foolish, greedy, evil, bastard, spoilers, wasters, demonic people there?

How is that a “favor” since PEOPLE are a nation’s best resource?
You folks keep relying on imported superstitions, while the rest of humanity is working hard.

The Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Rev. Dr Paulinus Ezeokafor, Saturday, feted over three hundred less privileged members of the society with some food items.

The beneficiries who came from across religious and ethnic drives, received bags of rice, tubers of yam, some onions, monetary cash, among other food items.

Distributing the items at St. Patrick's Cathedral, Awka, Bishop Ezeokafor, explained that the Easter package were to enable the downtrodden enjoy the celebration as well.

According to him, Easter is the greatest celebration in the Christendom, because it was a season to reflect over the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“We are giving back to the society out of what we received from the spirited individuals. We want the less privileged to feel impulse of the season. We want them to enjoy the Easter celebration like others.

"This is our annual ritual and we shall continue as long as we keep receiving from others. We do it every first Thursday of the month. But this one is specially organised every Easter season. Last year, we did same at the Christmas due to the impact of Coronavirus.

" Easter is season of love. It is when we remember how our Lord Jesus Christ came to the world, suffered, died for our sake and resurrected. We should reflect over our own live and ensure that after our suffering on earth, we shall enjoy the eternity. So, I charge all to work for our salvation," he added.

In an interview, one of the beneficiaries, Mrs Bridget Nwachukwu, who hails from Abia State, thanked the prelate for the gifts assuring that would live their lives for Christ.
Is the bishop feting them or is it the diocese?
Where would a catholic bishop get such money from?

RomanceRe: I Mistakenly Sent 100k To My Girlfriend's Dad Account by 9jaRealist: 8:31am On Apr 04, 2021
grossintel:
So one of my clients wanted to transfer 100k to me for a subscription fee, for some reasons I didn't want him to send it to my main account so I told him I'll send him an account to send the money to.

My girlfriend was with me, so I asked if I could use her account and she agreed. (PS: I use her account number a lot and we've been dating for a long time so I trust her with such amount) . So I told her to send me her account number, but she was watching a movie and requested I check my bank app beneficiaries. I checked and reluctantly copied the account number without checking properly seeing the account name had her surname on it, I didn't check the rest.

My client transferred the money and almost 24hrs my girlfriend still didn't receive the money so I contacted him and he sent a screenshot of the transfer which I forwarded to her. Immediately she saw it she shouted! That's her dads account number, I know I used to send her money through he's account some years back so I saved he's account details. She quickly called him and that's when she heard the shocker.

He said he thought it was he's friend abroad, so they used the money to buy food stuff and what is left is 40k or less, her mom was even pleading if they can send the 40k. My GF has been crying and begging that I should give them time to raise the money or I should sell her phone. Her entire family members have been calling me and I refused to pick, I just want my money back complete.

How can you use money you didn't verify the source in less than 24hrs? Her Mom is a pastor and Father is an elder but this is stealing! Did you call your friend abroad to ask before using the money? Her dad is retired without pention so I know for sure they don't have a way of raising the money.

After much pleading I asked her to tell them to send the 40k and send the rest before the week runs out, that's when they told her they can't do transfer and it has to be on Tuesday. At this stage, I just concluded they spent all that money, I'm trying to stay calm but at the same time not be foolish. My friend is asking me to involve the police but this will certainly hurt my relationship. Please how should I follow this matter, I need mature advice please. 100k is not something I can dash anyone right now.
With all due respect...
YOU ALL SOUND LIKE SCAMMERS!

You don’t want money sent directly to your account...
Your girlfriend has several accounts, and you have her dad’s account details.

Let’s not even mention the political system which is a military dictatorship in all but name...

Finally, just like us, they have been fighting insurgency in the Sinai region for over a decade...

Not this generation of women and wives, some don't provide for their family, was it not a girl here that said that she will never support her husband but will rather spend his money, so what would you call someone like her? the fact that some little percentage of women help their husbands doesn't mean others do the same thing.

Oyel dey your head.

Besides is it today women started contributing or even being sole providers? Shame doesn't let a lot of women admit they are sole providers, they still try to protect the husband by covering up.

Even women that are not being treated right contribute pay school fees etc, some even carry the major expenses, I have seen 2 of such threads of women being the bread winner very recent on NL

I am not surprised it has turned to another female bashing thread.

They are all shouting ahh, a woman should take the stress of a man, for some women if the man doesn't take the stress out of them, she will ensure you self are stressed out financially , I have seen this happen sad.

For some men its only in financial contribution they will need their wives after that her opinion doesn't matter in anything.

Nairaland Men should choose a side and stick to it.

You want to be traditional and sole provider, go all the way.

You want equal contribution and her to support financially then you too support her in the home.

Its only when money is involved some men remember they have a partner, their own partnership doesn't extend to anything else. The financial partner only gang.
Early nomination for Comment of the Year! cool

This is an advise to the women , and it should be here on social media
It not an advise...
It’s a personal decision that should have been kept personal.

Each person’s INDIVIDUAL circumstances are peculiar...
Eg, someone married to a jobless drunk, gambler, abuse and/or womanizer would be ill-advised to turn over her paycheck to him.

Do you barb your own hair? Why not leave it the way it was created?

Several of the comments here so obviously completely misunderstand feminism....
Feminists believe in the EQUAL RIGHTS of women to FREELY make their own decisions!

What one thinks of a freely-made decision in itself is substantively IRRELEVANT...
Accordingly, this case would only trouble feminists if the husband FORCED the lady to hand over all her salary.

Best wishes to the couple...
Here’s hoping they enjoy a happy and consensual matrimony.
