Jaguar1:if you can afford it, then go for it, just make sure it wont fade. she would probably wear it on her right finger when the real one comes in september. then again, if you see that getting her a ring now may not mean much to her since she is expecting the real one in september, you can surprise her with something she always wanted. all the best and congrats to you and future mrs jaguar 1. @ topic, a ring is but a symbol. it depends on the kind of girl you are with. personally if its not a ring that will make me go uh and ah, you had better propose with sweet words instead cos any ring on my finger must blink!!! |
@ tellsimone, am sorry about your marriage and its a pity what seemed so promising had to end this way. definitely he would try to take your daughter away from you so what you need to do is make sure you move back to where your family is so every body can put an eye on your daughter. make sure you are financially prepared to challenge whatever he would bring before you, and your family must be strong for you. if he sees a lot of family support for you, he may become more reasonable and try to do things the proper way. and if you guys were properly married, try to get a proper divorce and apply for custody of your daughter, the courts always lean towards the mother unless he can establish otherwise. good luck tellsimone. |
hes urhobo - mudiagha. dont know his age though. |
abbey_one:long throat!!! you had better go and find work!!!! |
@ poster, if you are the type attracted to the wrapping paper and not the gift itself, you are likely to have another heartbreak!!! you dont judge a book by its cover. you must get to know the girl before you make marriage plans. always look out for body language and all, and learn that what you see is not always what you get. shine your eye oh before you fall in love cos believe me love now wears contact lense plus glasses join. always and always look before you leap incase of next time!!! |
do you really have to buy your way? have the money and these socialites will come to you.!!!! |
@dollyfill, i believe in a consulting firm you would get to do more jobs that relate to accounting. and once you get a professional certification, the sky is your limit. my problem with the bank is that you may end up being in marketing, which has nothing to do with your accounting background or operations where you do all the hard work and get little or no credit and promotions. at the end of the day, a career in a consultancy firm appears to be more fulfilling. good luck though in whihever you choose. |
olivegirl, while you are at celtel try to look out for other opportunities. you dont have to be confused my dear. |

@ ibrahim007, take it easy my guy. @ topic, do muslims believe in wealth creation or they believe the rich should feed the poor?i guess that may account for why there aren't too many seminars cos a lot of the muslims just wait for arms. i hope my opinion is not misinformed though, and if it is i would like to be educated. |
@ poster, where will you spend eternity? ![]() |
i wonder why the bible or the quoran is always the basis for arguments!!! ![]() @mizieya, you have indeed backed your opinion with bible passages and thats fine by me. why not tell people the moral lesson without trying to insult them or the God they worship? dont transfer any hate into the post, please leave it at facts. @all, when it gets to insults and name calling, it actually takes the shine off the arguments. obviously, the existence of God cannot be logically proven and the bible is full of contradictions that is why it should not be interpreted literarily but with the direction of the holy spirit . i think we should try to react to the topic without insulting the poster or trying to insinuate that he is inferior because he doesnt share our point of view. @ topic, the bible was not written by Jesus Christ or God, so when you want to prove your point from the bible, its best to leave jesus christ and/or God out of it. make your point without having to paint jesus or god or any other prophet for that matter in a bad light! |
Gods existence cannot be logically proven. you have to experience something to make you want to believe there is a greater force controlling the universe, or you may have an experience that makes you question his existence. whichever you choose, just make sure you are convinced about it. i still insist its safer to assume there is a God and find out there is no God, than to try to convince your self he doesnt exist and find out he does exist!!! |
@ reverend, what sort of reverend are you? the reason that child is like that is more than i can tell you. but the reason you have come across that child and more like him is so you can help. if you choose not to help and leave the child suffering and show us his picture to prove a point(which is not really proven), does that have anything to do with God? no my dear, it has everything to do with your free will and what you choose to do with it. that is the story of our existence. a lot of us have avenues to help, but instead of helping we blame God for our wrong decisions and say he doesnt exist, probably to justify the guilt we feel inside. well since you dont think God exist to help that child, since you exist, how have you helped him or many more like him that you have come across? ![]() |

thimbook2:in fact you have to be bash ali himself!!! my guy sorry oh, from oshodi to obalande and you dey follow agbero drag?do you know all the stuff they inhale and exhale, with those red eyes of theirs?? pele oh. i beg give the old notes to the bank, not oshodi agbero. |
Tmoni:abi oh!! please aylala, esymoni, chartered accountants, pwc and all the other gurus whats your take on 1st bank po? do you think the market will be oversaturated and share prices will be stagnant or rise slowly? and why does gtbank scare me so much? nobody has talked about linkage assurance, but somehow investors have more than 100% returns in less than 3months!!!! |
@ topic, what bothers me about the whole story is whether the niger delta militants we hear about would actually allow j.k and the cnn crew record their activities just like that!!no fear that their victims would escape with the crew or try some james bond moves!!! if one of the camera men had been kidnapped, it would have sounded more real. so though i know the kidnappings in the niger delta is no childs play, i feel jeff konainge may have staged this particular one. and as for his loving shaved , no comments. ![]() |
Arnold1:is that a joke? have you heard of any airport in ikoyi or surulere? my dear, if this is not a joke then beware of scammers cos there is no such airline. you go from ikoyi to surulere either by bus or taxi and bike if you have the guts.no planes my dear, not even the smallest ones. |
monshege:the final word. |
the problem is a lack of exposure. i noticed that a lot of yoruba people living in the west have never left the west!!!! i have so many friends that havent been anywhere apart from lagos. born, bred, schooled, married all in lagos!!!! i think they watch yoruba movies instead of watching nta news where they can get to see that there are over 250 ethnic groups in nigeria!!! like I said, my problem is when they refuse to learn and choose to brand you 'omo ibo' even after trying to enlighten them, again i insist those ones are hopeless and i dont give them a second thought. |
@ nigergirl, am afraid your father is quite wrong. am a lawyer and when i tell people that, people look at me differently and give me a lot of respect. you'd only have problems when you start to argue blindly and not know when to draw the line, again that has nothing to do with the legal profession but the person. anybody that wants to marry you will marry you and will not be scared of the fact that you are a lawyer, just learn to be humble and all. take care. ![]() |
@ topic, i actually get that a lot, especially in the western part of nigeria. now i have come to realize that those people that call me 'omo ibo' instead of asking me where am from and trying to learn more about other cultures are just those that have refused to improve themselves. so i dont give them a second thought. |
@ topic, if you want to keep your virginity, you should be with a guy that appreciates your virginity otherwise your relationship was over even before it began. |
go ahead with the date. and if i find out that the rest of him is ugly as well (i.e ugly inside and out), then after the date he would definitely get a wrong number. ![]() |
kratos, have you ever thought that just maybe she wanted you to find out? she knows you visit nairaland, she was probably talking to you in all her post and hoping that somehow you'd get to see it and talk about it. and if she wasn't hoping you'd findout, she was probably hoping you'd read the post and compare it to your relationship an try to make improvements. my dear 15 yrs together and living for 4 yrs together is a lot. dont throw it away, just tell her you read her posts and state precisely how you knew it was her. just listen to what she has to say and try to work things out and make her see that you are not what she painted you to be. try to pick out those areas you can improve on and try your best to do just that. dont worry, things will work out fine. take cre. |
it depends on which one you find more convenient. first bank should be a better deal cos i think the pay is better and it may be more organized. as said earlier, maybe you should pray and choose or hope people that work there on this forum would give you an insight. all the best. |
oga madam, so that is not you, but those pics are so funny almost got me a querry for laughing so hard instead of focussing on the job at hand.@ topic, when you eventually visit nigeria with your boyfriend(am assuming you'd go ahead and marry him) you'd realize that you were probably crossing the brige before getting there. nigeria is not as backwards as you may like to think. a lot of inter tribal and inter racial marriages happen here every day, and most of them eventually work out. what bothers you is probably giving up your culture, friends in SA and moving to strange nigeria, but believe me, if you've learnt how to cook igbo meals and are learning the language, you have nothing to worry about especially if he comes from a liberal family. so my advice, meet the folks, brothers, sisters and as many extended family as you can meet and make up your mind if you want to be with them for ever and ever. if you can get them to accept you, you have no qualms as igbo men are particularly nice to their wives, but if you are not accepted, then i think you had better go and marry that white man you always wanted cos hell hath no fury as an african family that does not like the bride to be, they will use every trick in the book to send you back to wherever you come from. all the best, just look hard and long, and pray even harder and longer beforeyou leap. ![]() |
beautiful eyes ![]() |
@ nferyn, ehm who is that holding Aicha's hand while they were dancing? ![]() hope you have a dog already!!! cos i dont want any young man(no matter how young) near my Aicha just yet!! ![]() |
@ topic, as far as i'm concerned, mfm prayer is a strain on the oesophagus.!!!!! most peopl that swallow everything the church preaches hook, line and sinker end up being paranoid. i know of a woman who is being treated in the psychiatric hospital for mental illness just because at mfm she had learnt that every fly flying past her bedroom is an agent of the devil. insects are not allowed to go their way in peace!!!somebody must have sent them to her. she's in hospital and no relations to stand by her cos she had accused all of them of being witches and wizards. she prayed for them to jump up, sumersault and die!!!!!! |
