CrimeRe: Robbed At Gun Point by Aproko(f): 11:07am On Jun 04, 2007
@tayo, sorry about your plight. if you have photocopies you can take them to the high court and ask them to certify them as true copies (i.e certified true copies) you should be able to present that in place of originals till you can get your originals back.

again am so sorry about the robbery, just trust God that things will even get better for you.
Christianity EtcRe: Why Do Some People Feel Insecure About Discussing Their Religion? by Aproko(f): 2:25pm On Jun 01, 2007
@ topic,

because a lot of us practice religions handed down to us by our parents. those that bother to seek on their own and find answers have no qualms discussing their convictions.
Christianity EtcRe: Reincarnation by Aproko(f): 2:19pm On Jun 01, 2007
ehm otuwe, you didnt answer enitans question. sad sad

@ topic,

i believe in reincarnation. most christains do but they dont know they do.

the word reincarnation was edited from the bible by our beloved king james, so says the history books.jesus said elijah had returned in the spirit of john the baptist, so that simply means reincarnation does exist.

most people that dont believe in reincarnation is as a result of their misunderstanding of the concept. it most certainly does not mean the flesh dies and comes back to life, the spirit is the one that returns cos the spirit doesnt die at physical death.

Christianity EtcRe: Interfaith Marriages? by Aproko(f): 12:29pm On Jun 01, 2007
intune:
@Aproko: but the bible says in first corinthians not to be unequally yoked in marriage with unbelievers. Marriage is a spiritual thing and i fell that being of the same faith is a good foundation for your marriage especially for the days of crises.

Jesus accepted the tax collectors e.t.c in order to lead them to repentance, not just to be buddies with them or become one body with them.

My opinion: it is best to marry from your faith(that's what the bible teaches christians). Different denominations within true christianity is acceptable because the basis of faith is still the same but in an ideal situation you can both agree on a particular denomination to attend.
my dear, who is an unbeliever? having different faith does not mean you do not agree!!!!so many people are married to people that share the same faith, yet they do not agree, that is why their marriage ends in fights and messy divorces(i handle divorce cases so believe me, am talking facts).

it doesnt make sense to enter a marriage simply becos 'we agree'. when the bible says can two work together unless they agree?it should not be given a literal meaning. for two people to agree my dear, it goes beyond marrying from your faith.
Christianity EtcRe: How Many Nairalanders Pay Their Tithe? by Aproko(f): 12:08pm On Jun 01, 2007
sorry oh, pardon my ignorance, but where does the tithe money go?
Christianity EtcRe: Pre-Marital Sex Is Not Fornication by Aproko(f): 11:57am On Jun 01, 2007
@ topic,

why are most people on the thread preaching instead of answering the question logically? so since the bible says an eye for an eye, how come most people around are not blind?

if you object to trini's opinion why not object with logical proofs instead of trying to justify your insecurities with some biblical preaching?!!!

getting married just so you can have sex and not call it fornication is the biggest lie you will ever tell yourself. becos if you fantasize about the person and think about what sex will be like with person, and then go ahead to get married to relieve your fantasies, then your 'fornication' is even double.

premarital sex is what ever you choose to see it as.
Christianity EtcRe: 13 Problems I Have With The Bible by Aproko(f): 9:36am On Jun 01, 2007
@ jen33,

so you be man? shocked shocked shocked shocked
i think say jen na jennifer? grin grin grin

@ topic,

indeed the bible has a lot of contradictions, thats because the bible was written about 30years ad. though the maen were inspired by God, the bible was not written by God, thus out of human memory which indeed fails.

as for the synoptic gospels, mathew, mark, and luke were not with Jesus when he performed some of those miracles or during the transfiguration. that only means someone must have told them what happened, thats why their accounts of thesame events are not the same(each according to how he understood what he heard).

nevertheless, the bible works for some(at least so they say), and those that bother to look beyond what they were taught in sunday school and what pastor has said have questions that the pastor cannot answer. to them i say seek in the right place and in the right way(without argueing or fighting anybody) and you shall find.

BusinessRe: Lagos Imposes Levy On Generator Owners! by Aproko(f): 3:37pm On May 31, 2007
@ debosky,

i think you should start a business in lag (not onitsha) and lets see if you'd still have this same view point.

@ topic,

lagos is nigeria's commercial capital. for the system to function properly, electricity is a must. most government parastatals actually run generators becos of the inefficiency of the phcn.so i guess it is a case of he who is without guilt should cast the 1st stone.

if you levy generator users, the cost will ultimately fall back on the people the govt seeks to protect becos lagos as a whole runs on generators!!!! production companies will no doubt transfer the cost to the consumers, and blv me if every company in lagos decides to put off their generators of 10kva and above, you can be rest assured the economy will come to a standstill.

instead of the govt trying to impose levies that wont work (which i think is the easiest way to swindle hard working lagosians of some money), the govt should focus on cleaning up the dirtiest city in this country. that should give them plenty to chew upon.

in a nut shell, generators and by extension the proposed levy will not be necessary if the govt had not failed in their duty to the citizens.

FamilyRe: Thinking Of Getting Married But Living Apart For Now by Aproko(f): 9:17am On May 25, 2007
my dear, i dont think she should marry him just to enable him get a visa cos there's no telling what the guy would do as soon as he gets the visa. but if they do love eachother and insist on getting married soonest, then one will have to give way for the other.

being married to the man you live with is a lot of hardwork and being a new couple and living apart is even harder to do and 3 yrs is a long time. in 3years a lot can happen. so personally, i wont marry a man and be away from him 3yrs. i dare not

am not clear about this topic i guess.
FamilyRe: Thinking Of Getting Married But Living Apart For Now by Aproko(f): 6:14pm On May 24, 2007
@ topic,
the man cant get a visa unless he marries her, she cant get citizenship unless she stays 3 or 4 yrs more. so if she marries him now when she still doesnt have the papers she wants, how will that translate to the man getting a visa? huh huh huh
CareerRe: Hope 4 3rd Class by Aproko(f): 5:59pm On May 24, 2007
@ topic,
i know someone that graduated with a third class and he earns a paltry sum. that is because people believe the 3rd class graduate will do anything to have a job.

my advice to your friend is to aim to be an enterpreneur especially if his father doesnt have a company he can run or he doesnt have mountain moving faith. he should try to think of how to employ people instead of fretting over who will employ him.

maybe seun will be gracious enough to give him a lesson or two. wink

@ topic,

sometimes you just cant explain things. just try to make the best of whatever situation you happen to find yourself. lifes lesson no. 1, never envy the next man because you do not know his story whether good or bad.

everybody has a story, whether interesting, uneventful, just pray that yours is a success story. try not to let these things bother you. like my neigbour would say "every dog has its day" yours will soon come. wink wink
