dedeike: Mr Ignorant, I want you to contact an Architect to design a 5 bedroom duplex for you on the sand filled marshy lands on lekki and see how much he will charge. Look at how you carefully dodged all the numerous contracts awarded by this govt at FEC meeting yesterday and decided to make a mockery of the cost of designing such a bridge as the second Niger Bridge. By your post, you displayed crass ignorance of the workings of govt procurement processes. For your information, the public procurement Act 2007 precludes anybody from advertising and awarding any contract without making funds available. No govt relies on tendering fees to fund projects. Get your facts right Oga do you know what/how a tender system works? |

edicolove: This thread is a proof beyond doubt that most GEJ critics on NL only read the headlines. They don't read the articles before they start posting their hate posts. If they are not blind haters, they will surely read the full articles.
This thread should be bookmarked! Dude for once quit licking GEJ's ass and be reasonable. Billyonaire is not a GEJ critc but he also "complained" about the said amount. |

And all we need is just competition in the industry, people will sit tight of course. The PHCN staffs you know are the meter guys and all you need is ssce to do that. Go to the generating stations(Egbin, Kanji, Jebba) and you'll realise that this is a blessing for most of them. |

edicolove: Normally, I don't respond to pettiness and side stepping. But for the benefit of many on here I will respond.
The essense of talking in public is communication. Clear and concise. If people have to go back to school to do PhD to understand Bakare's statement, then he has failed woefully as a communicator and public speaker. Please do not indict him more. His words are simple as can be "when such men of low estate" does not need to be explained any further. That demography is probably around 80% or more of the Nigerian population. That "such men" in his statement was refering to a particular person not the people in general. |

For those who don't understand Shoeless doesn't mean poor cos the beggars i see in lagos are poor but they all wear shoes/slippers. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Bakare: Only Rich Men Should Rule by AZeD1(m): 3:24pm On Aug 07, 2012 |
Skii: Ehen, what were we saying…
“When the shoeless takes over, he does clueless things. When such men of low estate find themselves in power, terrible things begin to happen.” He added, “It is the timidity of the inferior that prods them to cover up. Deep rivers flow in majestic silence.”
Shay this is what Bakare said that you are deducing he meant Nigeria is only governable by the rich?
For a start, what or who do you define as poor?
Because in truth, the word poor is relative and it depends on the context in which it is being used. Either way, it means not having or lacking in…but not having or lacking in what?
You want to tell me that someone who is very intelligent and highly intellectual is poor? Or someone who is highly talented in art, music or any other skill is poor? Certainly not!!
It is only in Nigeria today, that being poor generally refers to the lack of material things (whether you agree or not) and this is a pity. But I really cannot blame those who think this way. Years of “suffering” brought about by the terrible things (such as corruption and embezzling of state funds MEANT FOR ALL) that happened when such men of low estate found themselves in power and their celebration has brought upon them this mind-set.
These terrible things that have been perpetrated over the years and in all corners of power (not just with Jonathan or the FG) have eroded all the moral and value systems of our society to the point that the real things that should describe wealth or richness that ought to be rewarded such as sound character, honesty, accountability and STANDING UP AGAINST THE INJUSTICE AND PERVERSION OF POWER are now being discredited or ignored. It is now the other way round…
SUCH men (and not everybody) of Low estate as is being referred to here is the classifying or umbrella term for those who are not necessarily lacking in material things but are POOR (lacking or not having) in morals, having no shame or character, lacking self-control and self-discipline and the likes!!
Bode George, James Ibori, Alameiseigha (however his name is spelt, the one that dressed like a woman to evade identification at the airport) are examples of men of LOW ESTATE!! I could not have said it any better. |

perhaps the db format should be put up there too. an sqldump without the data would be nice as i can't seem to figure out the yuml.me thingy (or isn't it what kobo referred to as 2 pages back?)
also, maybe we should arrange the project into bin, res and src folders for binaries, resources and sourcecode with the excel and sql data under resources. You are right. I'd work on that over this weekend. I'm also trying to do a mock up of the front end so work can start on them too. |

There is absolutely no reason why the front end should be delayed for any reason because of the backend technology. [quote author=Kobojunkie]No problem |

The politics section is usually filled with the retardeen camp vs the 40 laptop squad headed by the server himself but if you an ordinary Nigerian like me then you will know that this does nothing to better our lives. I believe that majority of the people on nairaland have a functioning brain so how about we start using it for something productive? We can call GEJ a r.etard all we like,it wont change a thing. I think we should spend more of our time and energy focusing on the many issues of Nigeria and planning how to get this old school thieving politicians out of the system. Social media has changed governments around the world so why cant we use nairaland to change the politics of Nigeria.
I know we have problems like "na my brother mentality" and those who believe if you criticise somebody it means you are jealous bla bla bla, but if we don't deal with this now, we should just forget about ever having a good country whether its called Nigeria or Biafra.. |

You can choose 1 or take all 3...i wouldn't mind probably 2 and 3. |
