Such gloomy days. I am watching the Clippers vs Orlando game, and i have never seen such gloom. Everyone is just absent-minded. Unfortunately the games were just about to begin when the tragic incident was confirmed. His loss resonates throughout all of sports. Great loss for sports.

The fact that an ecological catastrophe can occur naturally does not mean it cannot be decreed by God. That's the belief of Christians. God does as he wishes. Now, if you don't believe in the existence of God, we are at an impasse. That's your belief. We don't have common beliefs with regards to the subject and your argument is not valid according to my premises.

I am not an experienced researcher myself, just starting out. I just got my first degree too. And it would be difficult for me to offer advice directly related to petroleum Engineering cos it's quite distant from my area. But from my short experience so far, you could begin by looking deeply into a topic(s) that piqued your interest, at some point during your undergraduate studies.
Edit: I suppose Professor Wip has provided a better and more detailed answer.
ekrizz:
Not exactly. I'm actually serving as a corps member (NYSC). So I want to start getting acquainted with article writing processes. My field is Petroleum Engineering.

That's a lot of work sir, but i trust you can do it. You are quite prolific. Who says a researcher can't become a millionaire? grin. But of course your students and collaborators do have their share. And well Prof, I do know that's some good money. grin. But can you please direct me on how to make a submission?

Welldone welcome to the club of those they get paid when they publish quality research paper in quality journal.

For this paper you will be paid 3175TL (its a good money) see attached.

My targets in 2020 is 300,000$ to be paid meaning I have to publish 45 papers now I published 7 in 2020 already. Also, two of my products has recently received commercial status and I will start production for the company that contracted me from March.

Best wishes

Education › Re: Sidi Osho: Professor & VC At ABUAD, Then Demoted To A Dr. At OOU. Then Sacked by benji93: 9:23am On Jan 23, 2020
Zuckerberg's work wasn't scholarly, at least in the traditional definition of it. What he invented is not what is taught in the departments of computer science/ Engineering around the world. If inventions were all that were required many Engineers would be professors.
Freehuman:
"Two years" was my employment of hyperbole to stress the point that research experience is the most fundamental requisite for the award of a professorship title and Zuckerberg would need a Masters degree to earn the prestigious title. But come on , we both agree that professorship is a title and status not an academic qualification . Why wouldn't Mark Zuckerberg who founded Facebook, owns Instagram and WhatsApp not be granted that honour of professorship if 80% of what would be taught in the department is what he invented?
Education › Re: Sidi Osho: Professor & VC At ABUAD, Then Demoted To A Dr. At OOU. Then Sacked by benji93: 8:42am On Jan 23, 2020
2 years? Nope.According to Wikipedia Soyinka continued at Leeds for his MA, although they never mentioned that he finished. But since it was thesis-based, any of his earlier works would have been enough to complete his MA at the time. To the best of my knowledge, professorship is based on your research track record big how long you have been teaching. University teachers could always retain the title of Lecturer.
Freehuman:
Professor Yemi Osibanjo has no Ph.d. He was once head of department , Commissioner of Justice and supervised pH.d Students. Wole Soyinka is a Prof and serves as Emeritus professor in many Universities across the globe. SOYINKA doesn't have a Masters degree. Same as Chinua Achebe.

Professorship is not an academic degree. It is a titled conferred based on a scholar's contribution to his academic field. It doesn't necessarily follow the sequence of B.sc , M.sc and pH.d.

If a department of Social Media Studies is created in Havard today and Mark Zuckerberg lectures there for just two years. He would be made professor in the department whether he has M.sc or not.
That's how professorship works.
Education › Re: Sidi Osho: Professor & VC At ABUAD, Then Demoted To A Dr. At OOU. Then Sacked by benji93: 8:22am On Jan 23, 2020
Professorship is not a degree, and so doesn't necessarily have to conferred after obtaining a PhD. It's usually based on one's research track record. The only reason why it usually comes after a PhD today is that, researchers generally are only able to conduct original, independent research, publication-worthy only after their PhD. Now if you argue that she doesn't deserve the professorship title because her research/ publication record is poor, as is true for a lot of professors in Nigeria, I will take it. I hope you get your facts right next time.
pmoye:
This is the story of Sidi Osho. I am not exactly sure now whether to address her as a professor or as a doctor. After all she was called professor and vice chancellor at Afe Babalola University in Ado Ekiti between 2009 and 2014, after which she was demoted to a senior lecturer at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ado Iwoye and dismissed for financial impropriety in 2016. She is definitely a woman with many twists in her story. Another twist, after her dismissal Ogun State governor would later appoint her as a commissioner in his cabinet.

What exactly is going on in our academic institutions? This is definitely not the first time that private universities would arbitrarily hand out the professorial cadre to undeserving individuals. ABUAD took this trend to another level by promoting several lecturers who have no PhD degrees or any substantial academic publications to the professorial office. I will do a comprehensive report of the list of professors in private universities in Nigeria without a PhD degree, including vice chancellors (e.g. ABUAD) who without a PhD degree have been awarded professorial cadres. I believe it is a big shame that the Nigerian University Commission has decidedly turned a blind eyes on quality assurance in our educational institutions, especially with respect to private universities where just anything goes.

This paper draws inspiration from previous nested-square -root formulas for pi to generate an infinite number of pi formulas- Formulas with infinite nested square roots, followed by formulas with finite nested square roots. By substituting different values/ variables as indicated one can derive different pi formulas. One important part of this work is that, the formulas derived are such that the real numbers under the square roots can have fractional powers.

Edit: So next time, read and understand before passing a comment. You were talking about points not assists or best player on the laker team yester night. The best player on a team on any night could have had a bad night of shooting in general, so that was not the point. My comment holds.
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 12:37pm On Jan 21, 2020
I thought you were talking about his shooting, so ofcourse i was talking about his shooting. The point you made was never in relation to his assists. Your theory was based on points. Maybe you should listen to your friend, ur theory is quite farfetched.
zelgiusdigby:
Why are you the way that you are? Seriously! This man has comprehension issues. Bron was actually the best laker out there, i'm talking about him only taking 12 shots. I don't understand how someone can always be off point.
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by benji93: 12:09pm On Jan 21, 2020
Ofcourse, Lebron never has a bad day. It must be intentional. grin
zelgiusdigby:
I have a conspiracy theory. Bron only took 12 shots and scored 15 points. Some might say he was being passive and trying to get AD and everyone else involved. Nope! Hes trying to ensure he passes Kobes scoring record in Philly, Kobes hometown. He was 81 points away, now hes 66 meaning he'll most likely reach that landmark two games from now against the 76ers.

Why, Why, why are you bringing up a topic that is completely unrelated to your previous argument. Tinubu is not my relative, so how would I know his reason(s) for sitting on the fence. Perhaps he doesn't want to hurt his 2023 ambition. Maybe he secretly supported or endorsed the move for the creation of "Amotekun" as a message to the North, telling them he's still the "most powerful" leader, thus the Northern leaders should know better than to renege on their supposed promise of handing over power to him.
MEGAWATCH:
Is that why it has been so difficult for TINUBU to take a STAND in the Amotekun project?

Perhaps you should have dug deeper in order to understand the context of that tweet. If you scroll down through the replies you would realize that that handle is fake. The picture belongs to someone else with a different name. The owner of that handle is clearly trying to incite hostility. That's not to say the elite North don't have such an impression, but do well to put reliable information out there.

Are you alright? Stole? Is "Amotekun" a Journal paper for which you have to provide reference? When you were venturing into this space, did you think deeply about your statements before scripting? Maybe the state of Ebonyi should have patented it. Bullshit. Either the OP and the governor are out of your minds or one of the is. But for you, you definitely are out of your mind. Unless the governor jokingly said that, that's some bullshit. Knowing our bloggers very well, this may be a contextual misinterpretation on the part of the OP. If you wanna use the word borrow, fine. Why have girls moral value degenerated so badly? Is it because too much exposure in school? Hmm... I must watch out for My girl child. Even though she's gonna be raised in this useless generation, she'll not be like them. She must be like me cos I'll use the same iron hand my parents used on me.

I laugh in Ga. Take am easy ooo. 4 decades! If that is true, I salute you, you try. I mean, we could decide to cancel the 3 zeros on our 1000 Naira more. I may not have stayed in Ghana as long as you did, but i was in Ghana before 2007, and i know that the largest denomination was the 20000 Cedi more and a dollar went for about 8000 Cedis. When those zeros were cancelled, the dollar began changing at around 0.8 Cedis. That was not the hand of the financial market. In fact the bad economic situation-which included inflation- was the reason for that move. My point is the strength of a currency cannot be directly measured from the exchange rate.
bigglenn12:
Lol... I spent over 4 decades in Ghana before i moved to Canada with my family. U are mxing everything up. You are talking about inflations and not how to determine the value of a currency my dear Benji
Travel › Re: My December In Ghana, Four Things I Realized: A Nairalanders Experience. by benji93: 10:27am On Jan 13, 2020
That's if you even understand Twi remotely. grin. And good question. The value of a currency lies in the actual economic exchange. There are several indicators that show this. One useful indicator is rate of erosion of the exchange over time. You can check which of the two currencies has eroded the most overtime. Note, w are talking about rate here.
bigglenn12:
@Benji93
You make me laugh in twi... You said if changing the 4 zeros changed the actual value of their currencyhuh Lemme ask you... How can you determine the value of a currency??
Travel › Re: My December In Ghana, Four Things I Realized: A Nairalanders Experience. by benji93: 5:28am On Jan 13, 2020
Your pickpocket story is not entirely true, although I will admit there are a lot of Nigerians in Ghanaian prisons. Most of those pickpockets are not Nigerians, and that's a fact. Don't vlcone here and tell us what someone told you.
We have discussed and clarified the issue of currency several times here, why are you still bringing it up? The denominations were changed in 2007, 4 zeros were literally cancelled from each note. Does that change the actual value of their money? Capital No.
bigglenn12:
@saintssamurai
@worworboy

We shouldn't come to a social media and start to insult ourselves. The truth is when you are a traveller, you are more experienced. I have been and lived in Accra. Ghana is way far better than Nigeria interms of economy.
1Ghanaian cedis=63naira
Ghana has a very constant power supply= Nigeria dont
Good roads=Nigeria dont
1kilo of turkey 12cedis (756naira)= naija (1400)
Ghana cedis is the 3rd strongest currency in Africa= Nigerian naira is not in the first 20 in Africa
They rarely grant Nigerians living in Nigeria visas to other countries= Ghanaian passport has edge
The reasons why you see that Nigerians are very high in Ghana prision is that more than a hundred of times Nigerians have been caught stealing with live raffles, if u visit Accra and know circle u will understand what i am talking about. Pick pockets, and whole lots of criminal stuffs at gun points.
The truth is that Nigerian economy is on a stand still while other countries are growingup. Nigeria gives out light to these west African countries yet no light in naija. Why do you think its only during festive period that they give us light steadily, after the festive period they go back to normal. Its called witchcraft. Generators should be banned from the country completely not even the politicians should use generator so that when there is no light everyone should be in darkness. My brother,Nigerians are very hard working and are knowning for greatness in Africa and the world. Im a proud Nigerian but the system do not work. The govt is the problem,no country on earth is worst than my beloved country Nigeria. How can we be living in this digital world and manifesting in an analog system? God bless naija

Bullshit. Why the hell are you behaving as if 8 months is enough time to form a reasonably general opinion of Ghanaians? Do you not know he experience in Ghana depends on where you life?
Do you feel better now after spewing all that trash about Nigeria? As much as you can speak of your admiration for Ghanaians without openly dragging the name of Nigeria through the mud, you can also address the other guy's low-self esteem comment. And what is it with, if not for my parents I would rather be a Ghanaian? I understand the state of the country frustrates you as it does most of us, but what bullshit statement is that.
Lastly, there's not much difference between Ghanaian and Nigerian Jollof, especially the comparing the party-standard. Or perhaps the person that does ur Jollof in Nigeria is just not at it.
SaintsSamurai:
Is it the Jollof rice that is paining you?

Nigeria is my country but you all will jump at mentions of people that dares to say it as it is and when it's not in the favour of NIGERIANS. Crackheads like you will start talking about low self-esteem.

Mr Suffer and smiling, have you been to Ghana?
Have you tasted their Jollof rice?

If "No" is your answer then kindly shot the fork up and go drink water.

I didn't even talk about the hundreds of ways why Ghana is more better than Nigeria.

Can you take a stroll by 11 to 3 in the middle of the night in anywhere in Nigeria without getting attacked by cultist, agberos, thiefs, Police, SARS, army, armed robbers and Even Evil spirits?

But in Ghana, I've walked in Ghana in the street where i resided at 11 at night, I've booked an Uber on many occasions by 11 to 12 midnight and they came in less than 20 minutes to my service, we have droved in a car in Ghana by 3 to 4 in the morning when coming from the club or all night Church service.

No police or cultist harassment, no seeing of Evil spirits like in Nigeria. grin

Should we talk about electricity?

Last year i lived in Ghana for about 8 months and no sign of Generator noise.
It was 24/7 electricity nonstop.

Should we talk about how Good their roads are?

How they obey traffic rules.

Should we talk about how nice they are?

The earlier Nigerians face the Truth that Nigeria is a zoo, NIGERIA is one of the worst country on Earth, the better for we.

If we don't fight the government now and take a stand against corruption then the suffer continues.

If not for my family and loved ones and my good friends, i would have prefer to be born as a Ghanaian than a Nigerian.

So don't quote me and tell me Rubbish.

Nonsense!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
