Orchid45:What does a marriage certificate mean to you ?? |
grafixdon:Probably thinks with a court marriage, divorce would be hard or the court will not recognize Church wedding. I think it’s better to avoid that expense. Your sister is married and should not bother the husband. If she exercises this fear, she may actually break her home. |
AnonyNymous:It’s nairaland for you. Where everybody claims to know more but go about saying nothing and creating more issues |
Use a mutual friend to ascertain her mindset. The mutual friend should pay her a visit and discuss life generally and bait her with the possibility of reconciliation. The mutual friend should not disclose the possibility of you reconciling, but ascertain her readiness to reconciliation in the case that she is interested. From the general discussion, the mutual friend can ascertain if she has moved on, like there is a man in her life or she still misses you. The mutual friend can also ascertain, from your wife’s perspective, what she thinks about the separation. 4 months is actually a long time, so in the case she is opened to reconciliation, don’t rush it. Take it slowly and gradually because she may have lost all love for you and I believe your relationship with her family members is toxic too. Don’t call or send text, you may not like the response. You have to ascertain her mindset on whether she may want to reconcile with you. |
Lagos runs an opaque government. Transparency is zero. Without transparency, how do we hold government accountable? |
I’m ashamed for him. He has lost his masculinity because of the bread he is eating at his sister’s house. |
omohayek:Your comment is well put. On the other hand, Shittu speaks with some experience about the Nigerian political environment and what it takes to win elections in Nigeria. It requires bribing, rigging and manipulation, either through law enforcement, electoral officers, judges or arming youth with guns. Take all these out of the political equation, many of the people holding power in this country would be busy with their farms. Nigerian intellectuals have abandoned the political sphere for ignorant and poorly exposed persons and that is the reason we produce the likes of Shittu. |
NwanyiAwkaetiti:This is the type of females they give money for housekeeping and they use this money for themselves. |
Zinny25:She needs nothing as such rather than to get a job and stop depending on the boyfriend. She mentioned that despite the financial difficulties, the boyfriend continues to support her. In that case, she is still living off the boyfriend rather than her actual family and if the family is poor, get a job to cater for your needs. In my opinion, no spirit husband was responsible for any financial difficulties rather herself and her boyfriend are responsible for their circumstances. |
Urchee:Change school to system. This arrogance is everywhere in the country. From the sergeant in the street, to the politicians requesting your vote |
This is a potential client for fraudulent pastors and imams. If the boyfriend reasons this way probably that’s why he is having financial difficulties. Has the boyfriend considered that there is recession in Nigeria and many Nigerians have been setback by 32%. If the boyfriend is a business man, has he considered that the purchasing power of Nigerians has reduced and as a result not many would patronize his business as before except he sells essentials commodities. If the boyfriend is on fixed income/salary earner. As a result of the recession and revaluation of the naira, his purchasing power has reduced by 32% without any increase in his wages. Hence, he cannot spend money the way he is used to and if he does not change his lifestyle, yes he would have financial difficulties. |
Was the military exchanging fire with that den gun in the picture? I can’t see any AK 47. |
When we say that this false god of men are also responsible for the problems in Nigeria, some sycophants will rush with abuses and ignorant statements. |
phayvoursky:I hope you are joking because of your last sentence |
ultron12345:They can use the P/E ratio of NGOs or Charity organizations that are listed. However, because religious organizations are bigger with huge cash influx. This P/E ratio should be adjusted upward to ascertain the true valuation of the merger. If they are listed, it would be very successful and I don’t mind subscribing because fixed cost would always remain the same, whilst revenue in the form of contributions and donations will continue to go up. All it takes is for the GO to play with the psyche of the large worldwide members and cash would start flushing in. |
Global partnership - sounds more to me like merger and acquisitions |
Mille:She wasn’t paying her well. If she was, I don’t think the Nanny will consider absconding. I bet the Nanny will make more money doing menial jobs that her current pay. There are some loopholes in this story that requires serious answers. I’m currently in London and I do know you must have proper address of the destination you intend to visit. Hence, the Nanny planned absconding prior traveling and she perfected it well. OP need to report this or it would affect her chances of ever visiting the UK in the future. She might even be labeled a trafficker. |
This man should get out of social media before it ruins his reputation. |
They don’t want to arrest him. How about arresting the local vigilante for interruption of police work |
White people generally don’t wear African prints, except they are married to Africans or have some interest in Africa, in other words, want to collect your money. Nonetheless, her target market is Africans and using whites models indicates a disconnection with your customers. |
krissconnect:That’s Multichoice and not Nigerian youth. |
Sowore I think you will fail. My reasons are below - Which political platform do you intend to pursue your ambition of being the President? Nigerians are yet to know. - You will need the support of Senators and House of Representatives to pass and implement your reform programmes. At the moment, the house of assembly is occupied mainly by 2 parties (APC and PDP) both at loggerheads with themselves. You would need a large majority of your team to occupy both houses to consolidate your presidency. - The civil services and law enforcement agencies in Nigeria are largely corrupt. Any reforms that do not support their pockets may be frowned at or not implemented. There is also the possibility of civil servants renegading against the president. - This present administration has increased the debt capacity of the country and intend to go further to borrow more loans. The high debt profile of the country will starve funds to carry out any economic and social reforms. Recommendations The best bet is to sensitize young Nigerian professionals to seek offices at the federal level. Create an independent political party to take office from both APC and PDP. However, there is the problem of raising campaign funds. |
eleojo23:In all sincerity that’s poor corporate governance - him being CEO and Chairman. One person holding two significant roles in a company and being too powerful isn’t great for corporate governance. However, Zuckerberg, on his part would want to wedge more control on the company he founded. I bet he may commit suicide if he loses control of his company. He is currently the highest shareholder with over 60% voting right. The young man is smart and a control freak |
naijjaman:Not true |
Nice one AY. You are doing a good job with her |
From the comment I have been reading, this seems like an interesting thread. It appears a lot of people are suffering from the Tenancy lease as a result of not reading their Tenancy agreement |
abnot:Please let them know what is applicable abroad. It’s so unfortunate that you are now suffering the “Nigerian situation”. However, there are houses on the Island that applies the same principles like those applicable abroad. Might be wise to move into such houses to avoid complications and unbearable conditions. |
Helpfromabove1:I will try to answer your question without expressing arrogance. However, before I proceed, I think I have stated in a previous comment that it is important to read agreements before signing. If your Tenancy agreement stipulates certain conditions, you are obligated to comply with such agreement. Our argument on this thread is based on situations where there are no stipulated obligations between Landlord and Tenants and that area is blurred. In that circumstances, I shall proceed to answer your question Question 1 - In some houses, I don’t know the one you live in, before you open the light bulb casing, you must inform the Landlord or Estate management Company or their representatives. In fact, a mere escalation of the damage prompts them to send their service/maintenance manager to resolve or replace the light bulb. I know in the average houses in Nigeria, the tenant replaces the bulb. In fact, the tenant don’t even get to meet a bulb in the house before he/she occupies the house. So they buy a new one and replace them when damaged. Question 2 - Have you ever heard of Building insurance before? The Landlord is responsible to take our insurance for his/her building to mitigate these kind of risk. Also, have you ever heard of Tenancy/Content Insurance before? The Tenant is expected to take our an insurance to protect them of their own content (that is their own property). Some Landlords won’t rent or lease out to you if you don’t have this insurance. Some many ignore it. However, I know many houses, especially on the mainland don’t even have insurance and don’t encourage their tenant to have one. In fact, insurance is weird thing in Nigeria. Question 3 is a useless question, out of context and unrelated to the main topic. Nonetheless, to answer this useless question of yours - if the building has a comprehensive insurance, the insurance company will cater for incident cause by 3rd parties. However, if this is not cover, the perpetrator should repair the fence. I have onced lived in a house with a bad landlord and Shitty lease agreement. After our toxic relationship, which I made sure he suffered equally like he made me suffer, I promised myself never to ignore things. Read your lease agreement and where you are not clear, draw the attention of your landlord or their representatives to such matter. Also, know your rights and if you are not clear about your Tenancy rights, ask your lawyer. |
psammy1122:Please note that the US consulate in Walter carrington crescent in Victoria Island, employs a lot of Nigerians even as Visa Officers. The Canadian embassy in ghana, also employs Ghanaians. Currently, the Canadian embassy in London, is seeking the employment services of locals (that is British residents). So stop this ignorant nonsense you are saying. If you are unaware, research before you spew rubbish. |
Please sack all of them and replace them with non-Nigerians that understand they are providing a service. The Nigerians there are lazy, rude and very Nigerian. They punish you deliberately. It’s a nightmare |
nextstep:I agree with everything you stated except your third paragraph. The tenant should only be liable to his/her usage/consumption. That is why tenants pay utility bills. Please let’s know our right first. Do you know even in abroad, they provide you with fridge, stove/gas cooker, microwave oven and you ONLY pay for the electricity bill consumed for utilizing these items and if they are damaged, you escalate and they fix or replace them. They never ask the tenant - Chief shey Na you dey use these assets, you go need buy new one. Please don’t even say that is abroad - First go and read the Tenancy legislation signed into law by the Lagos state government. It is very similar to what is obtainable abroad. The simple conclusion here is that Nigerians don’t know their rights and nobody respects the rights of others in Nigeria. |
InvertedHammer:Very true - someone was distinguishing fixtures from fittings and ironically saying the Landlord is responsible for fixtures and tenants, responsible for fittings. When fixtures and fittings are actually the same thing, a word used together for small items in buildings. When you can argue from the principle of ownership - Who owns the asset? The Landlord owns the building and all accessories, fixtures and fittings to the building - Who enjoys the proceeds from owning the asset? The Landlord enjoys rent proceedings from owning the building - Without the Asset, will the owner enjoy any benefit? Without pumping machine, there will be no water and tenants will not rent the property. The Landlord stands to lose income as a result of this. Hence, as a result of his/her incident to ownership, he/she must fix and maintain the asset. However, because Nigeria is a place where the rights of people are not respected, it is better to behave and avoid problems from draconian Landlords. |
