neoclassical:Sure because only in PDP will you find reasonable people. He's part of PDP. Do not forget to vote PDP in 2023 to enjoy a better life. |
Godons1:Chai na waoh! Sorry for you. So let's just ask this: if the east fails to buy goods from the north, what will happen to the north? Na suffer die. By the way apart from cows, almajiris and shoe makers what else do the easterners get from the north? Please tell us. So in those images how many trucks carrying food did you see? You did not see tankers and containers? Don't let Igbo matter wound you bros. |
May God bless the children as they celebrate. Happy birthday to them. Happy birthday also to all the children who celebrate today. Children bring plenty of joy and moreso twins, triplets, etc. For the abusive youths on nairaland forum sorry for una. Get married, have children and have a feel of how it is when your own children are abused because of you on their happy days. |
Baba Sagay praised Sanwoolu for following the steps of the FGN and disagreed with Wike and Bello on the one hand. On the other hand, in the same interview he accused Sanwoolu of not being proactive enough with the lockdown in Lagos. I hope the man is not confused and is part of those obsssessed with Wike. I have repeatedly asked if the people of Eleme have come out to protest against Wike. Have we heard any noise from other areas of Rivers state against him? There is calmness and orderliness in Rivers state. People have better understanding of what they are expected to do to protect themselves, their loved ones and others now in Rivers state? I want to ask if the same level of kidnapping, robbery, electoral violence and other forms of crimes in Rivers state are perpetrated in Lagos state, will Baba Sagay be talking about the rule of law? At a point we were told that kidnapping started in Rivers state and then spread into other states. The kind of electoral violence experienced at each election in Rivers state is better seen than imagined. If Baba Sagay is made the governor of Rivers state, will he be shouting to the high heavens about the rule of law? Rivers state needs a very tough governor like Wike or El Rufai to maintain some level of sanity. From this interview baba Sagay has showed to us that the lockdown order in Lagos failed because there was no enforcement. Again Sanwoolu cannot be forceful because of politics too. He will always remember what played out with Ambode. Yesterday only he threatened another lockdown. Even if a new lockdown order is given, will the people comply? Lagos is the epicenter of covid 19 and needs strong measures to make the state safer. Baba Sagay should praise Wike for doing well to manage the kind of people leads in Rivers state. |
The police has always never taken such state matters seriously. Even when they are deployed there some take advantage to make money for themselves. Wike and the Nigerian police have always been at loggerheads. Whether they are there or not the lockdown order will be followed with the support of the people of the state. |
I thought policemen on private guard duties had been withdrawn nationwide. They will always abuse the oppotunity. Some are used to beat up and detain disagreeing family members, friends and business associates. Sometimes you see them with koboko in traffic flogging those who seem to obstruct their movements. The pictures clearly depict what happens to policemen attached to private citizens and the houseboy roles they play. |
Johnedoh:It is definitely not Dino Melaye. |
Miracle1991:So because we have a democracy, you have the right to break laws, disobey orders and expect to go scot free? |
frankmoney:Chai I don suffer. Someone who does not know what flyovers serve to do says "I will come down to your level of reasoning". What a shame. Please writing unco-ordinated English does not depict you as educated. Why have you advocated for a bridge in Rumuokoro? Why should a bridge be located there? Olodo. Why is it called "flyover"? What does the word "flyover" or "bridge" mean? What does the word urbanization mean? What are the functions of flyovers? Do you even have what is called common sense at all? Are you sure that too much ogogoro has not been troubling you lately? |
Valto:Have almajiris become commodities? Why can't their parents/state governments/Islamic leaders keep them in their exact locations in the north? Why do they fly around like mosquitoes? How are they able to travel such great distances from the north if boundary closure is effected by security agents? Have almajiris become traders of covid 19? By the way why were they escorted to Patani? So they should enter Delta state? |
frankmoney:With this statement I now understand your point about flyovers. Truly unbelievable for a young man. Without roads how can urbanisation achieve its aim? Please tell us. |
frankmoney:What! So flyovers are meant to decorate the areas where they are located. Where are you from? Any road reach your village not to talk of flyover? Are you one of those people who see bridges and begin to watch in unbelief of how such things are constructed? I believe that your village follow you dey waka up and down. |
Juliusmalema:Na lie. E never cross enter. Can we say he is onto of the junction of the boundary? Or the center divide of the boundary? Or he is standing on the 50:50 equilibrium. |
NGpatriot:What a shame that you chose to be cheeky. Unfortunately you are so deeply troubled by the actions of Wike in Rivers state that you have failed to look closely into events in that state. By the way, have you wondered why the people of Rivers state have not trooped into the streets to register their disagreements? Why do you cry more than the bereaved? Don't pretend to be civilized. I am certain that you jump queues at banks and ATMs. You "press button" certain times to get undue favours. You drive on the wrong side of the roads. Can you swear that you have not given bribes uncountable times? If you have ever been to a civilized society I am certain you conducted yourself there. You, do you conduct yourself properly here? Civilized societies did not evolve overnight. It took the sound judgements and sacrifices of great leaders and the people to achieve the societies they habit. Today Nigerians in millions have trooped to foreign countries to enjoy the societies built by citizens of those nations. I asked you if truly you believe that the Nigerian society is a civilized one. You either did not read it or you chose to bypass it. I also asked if it was morally right to break the law deliberately. You failed to respond to my questions but rather chose the easy path of insults. Is that how civilized you are? Can you not express your opinion with decorum knowing that the other person in entitled to his opinion? Examples abound of leaders of nations who on some occasions applied the same strong arm tactics to get their nations to where they are today. Maybe you have not heard of Paul Kagame and what he's been doing in Rwanda. Have you heard of Lee Kwon Yu who was called the father of Singapore? We had Buhari as head of state between 1983 & 1985. Where you very young then and not of age? I can tell you confidently that in his 2 years as the head of state sanity restored everywhere in Nigeria until Babangida/Abacha truncated it. Nigeria needs strong and decisive leaders so the society can get to the level of civilized ones. Lagos prohibited the use of motorcycles in certain areas. Government enforced and thousands of motorcycles were seized... unlawfully as some said. Many people in Lagos clapped and celebrated. In some south east states, governors supervised personally the pulling down of houses built by kidnappers and ritualists. People clapped and celebrated. Wike's decision to pull down the properties may be too harsh, but the truth as it continues to stand is that obedience is always better than sacrifice. I never contradicted myself. I have maintained constantly that there are certain Nigerians who need the strong arm. I have maintained that some Nigerians are unusually unruly and must be handled in an unruly way. For your information, I am a leader. Do you want to see me? I can invite you to meet me one on one. Do you know that he who points one finger at someone has four of his own fingers pointing back at him? Your single evil wishful finger returns to you four folds. |
An accident or sabotage. Is this not a deliberate act? Practice make perfect as they say. If they continue at this rate, killing their own people, who will remain to defend the nation? |
frankmoney:And flyovers are not meant to decongest busy roads? "flyover is not development". Chai. Bros why na? Where are you from by the way? |
Alanpoza007:Thankfully you said "a civilized society". Do you truthfully believe that the Nigerian society is a civilized one? Do you call it braggado? Sorry, I disagree with you bro. Leadership comes with certain responsibilities. Part of the responsibilities is the enforcement of laws. In civilized societies people live by laws. Nigerians hypocritically travel to other countries and obey their laws right from the airport. The ones in prisons all over the world broke their laws. Whoever went there to complain? Followership also has its responsibilities, part of which is abiding by laws. We cannot continue so recklessly in this country. Wike's actions may be seen as extreme but truthfully some people in this country need those measures. Now you may ask how many of those on the affected local governments were found disobeying? Those who obey, should we can them fools? Do they not need food in their homes? This country truthfully needs strong leaders who are able to put things in the right perspectives. Painfully you do not seem to realise that some governors are economical with the truth about figures. We all sincerely pray that the figures do not skyrocket. But Wike is honest enough about not letting it escalate beyond control. Just like everyone screamed to the heavens against PMB if Wike fails to take control he will be held respondible in the event of a big breakout of the virus in Rivers state. |
ArcFresky:If you are not from Rivers state and you do not reside there why do you want to kill yourself? Person when get hernia say e no pain am you when be the neighbour say you no go sleep. By the way which of the states are you from? Let's talk about your governor and people. |
"Accomodating federal government". Thank God it's a federal government man who said that. If the federal government was not accomodating, airports would have been shut in february. Inter state boundary security would have been more effective. Some governors would not be waiting to take undue advantage of covid 19 funds. Lagos covid 19 cases would not be rising so rapidly. The worst hit states are those controlled by APC governors. Wike and El Rufai have strong policies in place. They have refused to accomodate. Hopefully very soon Kogi will not run cap in hand to Abuja asking for covid 19 funds. |
Georgry:Absolutely you are wrong. Why don't you take time to ask why the man is on the run? Knowing the levels of robbery, kidnapping, bunkering and other forms of crime in Rivers state, why has the man not made himself available? Why are there no riots, upheavals, etc in Rivers state as we speak? Why are the people in the affected areas and other unaffected areas complying with the lockdown? Have you not noticed that those deslt with are just an insignificant population of the people? No ease of investment in Rivers state and you have multinationals operating there with a lot begging to operate there? Lagosians are quite unruly, you must agree. The reason has to do with many political interests and godfatherism. How many complied with the Lagos lockdown? Do you know that a new lockdown is imminent in Lagos? Do you know that covid19 is rapidly spreading in Lagos? We have been told that by July Lagos should expect over 120,000 cases. With a weak governor whose political will is in the hands of godfathers how can Lagos do it? To you Wike may have made an immoral move, but ask yourself if it was morally right for those ones to disobey the orders. Remember the saying "if a bird learns to fly without perching, a hunter must learn to shoot without aiming". Lagos too will get there soon. |
subcbouy:Hahahahahahaha no be small! |
AbdulCLO:Taaaaaaaaaa make we hear something. And you think that it is appropriate to deliberately flout the law. Why will you people never stop this attitude of lawlessness? Fulani ko, Kanuri ni. |
Sonoyom:So Wike should become omnipresent abi? Did you not read that the cow sellers gave bribes of 1,500 to secure their entry? Have you not heard Wike complaining several times openly about police personnel on the roads? Is it not the duty of the IGP and armed forces to address the greed and foolishness of the people on the roads? If those security agents effectively do their jobs all those arrested would be in their respective locations knowing that road no dey. Look as it stands some governors, except El Rufai need to do things the right way for things to work properly. Why are you all not complaining about the on going 30 days lockdown in Kaduna? Who has dared El Rufai? If El Rufai and Wike choose to contest as the president and vice president in 2023 I will happily stand in the sun to vote them in. Those two men truly know how to handle Nigerians and make the nation move forward. |
subcbouy:Bros you vex write this English o. Wetin na? |
Poloyanabo1:My friend, those who disagree with leadership systems do not sit and moan. They want change. If the system is not favourable to you, then you need to be that change agent. Wike was in his 30s when he became a local government chairman. The same goes for Amaechi and Magnus Abe. They took leadership by the scruff of the neck. They did not sit and wait for enabling environments. They created enabling environments for themselves. Brother, the richest people today did not wait for enabling environments, they created them. They got ideas that translated to power and wealth. You cannot convince anyone that Wike is not working. Wike may be tough, ruthless, aggressive, but he is a go getter. They say "crayfish wey don dry how e go take bend"?. The problem with infrastructure and the economy in Nigeria as a whole predates Wike and his contemporaries. I know people accuse him of embezzlement. But certainly whether he embezzles or not, he works. His works will determine his political future and not speculations. Kindly remember to stay safe. |
Poloyanabo1:All na lie. You are angry because the system has not favoured you. Say something else please. |
Please call me for your RAIN SOUL. It contains Blackseed and other nutrients needed to make your body fitter and stronger. |
Tonnyray:Thank you so very much bro. We need to ask ourselves why Nigerians conduct themselves decently while they are in foreign countries. The ones who flout the laws there are caught and jailed. Who goes there to ask them why their laws should be applied on the offenders? Several Nigerians are in prison yards all over the world, how many foreigners are in Nigerian prisons? Nigerian teach foreigners how to disrespect our laws and in turn the foreigners take advantage to deal with them...factories owned by Indians and Chinese come to mind quickly with their harsh employment conditions in Nigeria. We cannot do the same in foreign countries. Such businesses will close without delay. We must get to the point of enough is enough to have a better country. If PMB according to his slogan says "it begins with you", then truthfully leadership must take responsibility and deliver quality to the people. That's what I see Gov. Wike doing in this situation. When he dealt with the helicopter company three weeks ago or so, the minister told him that he was acting outside his powers. The chairman of Bristow called all the way from America to apologize. The minister clearly was playing politics and being hypocritical. This business as usual must come to an end someday in this country. Cheers. |
Bagehot:My dear friend, without strong men how can you have strong institutions? Let's take a look at our recent history with OBJ. Do you remember that with him as the president insititutions were built. He was a fearless leader, very decisive and he put the right professionals in the right positions. Can you honestly say that with OBJ boko haram would lay claim to any part of Nigeria? Today insitutions built by him thrive. That's what visionary strongmen do. Gaddafi and Saddam Hussein were victims of international political interests by the Americans. Their countries were solid and they left solid economies. The Americans destroyed their institutions and infrastructures just to create markets for the American business people. They were solid leaders who had the interests of their people at heart. See are their no laws against crimes like murder, kidnapping or robbery. Just as you have prosecuting lawyers you also have defence lawyers whose duties are to convince the judges that the accused, caught red handed, was not an offender in the first place. So it is with the case of Rivers state. Certainly you must have lawyers for and against. "State sponsored assassinations, genocide, corruption", etc are prices that some will pay. Those who pay the prices are exactly like those people caught by the Rivers Gov who think they are untouchable. Do you know that no one will dare in Portharcourt and ObioAkpor local governments to drive their cars out, walk out of their houses or try to defy the order following this example? The ones caught face compulsory quarantine. If hunger was their excuse, now they will learn their lessons in detention potentially without food. If the virus spreads in Rivers state, the same governor will be accused of not doing enough to protect the people. The lesson is there for all Nigerians who are either leaders or ordinary citizens. Behave yourself or get punished. The one who watches the watchman are those who live by the rules. They say "those who go to equity must have clean hands". After their service, the institutions in place surely will judge them. |
Bagehot:And who says they cannot stand in courts when such orders are backed by laws? Why are we being so hypocritical? Why will Nigerians never learn? Unfortunately such positions as yours are the reasons why we remain as we are and very backward. When the governors began to close interstate boundaries people asked where they found the powers. In the face of existing realities what were they expected to do? Sit down and watch while the president was acting very slowly in the face of a deadly virus threatening humanity? Smart people invest their money where laws are in place to protect their investments and such laws are enforced. Does democracy allow people to act lawlessly? We are talking about lawlessness and disobedience to orders for the safety of the society. As it stands, Wike needs to ensure that those who disobey the order to lockdown do not put the lives of those who stay at home at risk. By the way have you asked why just a few people chose to disobey in the mentioned local government areas? If Emperors are needed to make Nigeria better, let's vote them in and have a saner society. Li Kwam Yu did the same thing in Singapore in the 60s and 70s, go and see for yourself how Singapore is today. At a point he ordered those who urinated openly to be flogged and detained. Today Nigerians beg to go there. UAE had a very effective Sultan in the 80s who decided to transform Dubai. Today Nigerians rush madly to go there. We must ask what is the problem with us. Why do we always choose to disobey laws? If the military leadersship in 1983-85 continued at the pace then Nigeria would have been a better place. As it stands we lost that opportunity. With due respect I do not know if you were of age at the aforementioned period. The democratic president we have today is not the military head of state we had then. Unfortunately our democracy, age and health issues have tied his hands. All strong leaders must be supported to move the country to the next level. |
