Very sad. The mother may have to accept him/her as gay, cross dresser, transgender or whatever else. For her sanity and peace of mind, it's best to concentrate on the other children or even adopted children who make her happy. This life is short. |
Mystoree:Please keep loving and caring. She'll be fine though it's an unforgettable event. You've got to move on. Since the incident wasn't reported almost immediately, the chances of diligent prosecution is slim. Also, if it's an area that she frequents out of necessity, she could be setting herself up for more trouble if she reports without strong backing. Meanwhile, let her report to Mirabel Centre at LASUTH in Ikeja for post trauma evaluation and treatment in case there's an infection which may not be evident yet. |
No supervising engineer was appointed to oversee the project? No one observed when the construction exceeded the 15th floor? The building control agency staff involved should be held responsible along with the owners. |
WesternOligarch:True. A personal relationship with God means that you can hear from him directly. You won't need to deal with self appointed pastors who are neither called nor chosen. |
jaelz:You're right. A life of pretence will lead to more demands from the woman without guilt feelings. He's presenting himself as being capable of meeting her needs, whereas he can't. A woman is meant to be a helper as designed by God. She's to add value to his life. He's expected to provide for his family no doubt but he doesn't need to starve to death to feed his wife (not girlfriend o). That will be counter productive. Proverbs 31: 10 - 31 summarises it all for the woman. |
iwaeda:Lol |
DoggoneDogg:Ignorance is a disease. Bitterness is destructive to body and soul. She's from the East by the way. |
Congratulations to her and the family. I pray that this will uplift her from her sorrow over the sad loss of Yinka. May God grant her all that she needs to care for the children. Amen |
I just learnt that the school is in Makoko. The video was done by a Church which wanted to assist the owner with fundraising. The owner built it for out of school children but the place was always flooded. It has been demolished and will be rebuilt. LASG Commissioner for Education will do something about it shortly. |
Most disheartening! So oppressed and yet so committed to the nation. Suffering and smiling indeed. May God touch the hardened hearts of our leaders. Amen Who knows where the school is? Perhaps we need to do some fundraising to help the kids stay in a more decent environment if the LG in charge doesn't care. |
How about areas where residents are forced to pay taxes to them? Have they not taken over the land (even if temporarily) from the owners who are forced to flee? That's an act of terror in my humble view. |
3gpvids:: ![]() Google about the health benefits. It's taken in other parts of the world, not just Yorubaland. |
oluwaseyi0:We have many actually. I mentioned some in my previous post. Some like ogbono (apon in Yoruba) and bitter leaf soup are also traditional Yoruba soups. I learnt from the elders who grew up in the villages. We do have different types of vegetables cooked in various ways but most are hardly available in city markets. Some are seasonal. For instance, I don't see amunututu (local spinach) in markets but it's usually available in Asian/Lebanese stores. |
Afriqan:People are becoming wiser now. People now know that those veggies are highly nutritious. Those living abroad are sending their kids for Yoruba language and culture lessons. |
Afriqan:Actually there are more Yoruba soups which are now virtually lost to urbanisation. Ebolo (like coriander) and Worowo (bologi) soups for instance are made from highly nutritious vegetables. It's only recently that I started seeing ebolo in some Lagos markets though It's a seasonal veggie and most common around Osun/Oyo states. There's also Obe Isapa (roselle) with or without egusi that is taken with pounded yam and Elegede (field pumpkin) soup. |
TarOrfeeek:Ewedu is medicinal. |
Primitive people! If it's so easy, how come the ritualists we've seen captured all look wretched? Shouldn't they be rich? Eni maa daso fun ni, ti orun e laa wo. Some of our people need a reorientation program to educate them on the fruitlessness of these crazy ventures and the damage it does to humanity. |
iwaeda:Unfortunately, compliance deteriorated under Ambode. Now there's total loss of control. |
Great feat! Congratulations to the family. |
God bless the efforts of Amotekun personnel much more. Do the crime and do the time. I hope justice comes swiftly with the cooperation of the Police and the Courts. |
The guy only needs a visit to a psychiatric/psychologist for starters. That will define his rehabilitation needs. Arresting him will only aggravate his situation. |
If this story is true, the lady is mean! I wouldn't tolerate my daughter doing this to her mum inlaw. It's grossly unfair to her and a destabilising factor for the man who will be confused and miserable. That balance between the two most important women in a man's life must be maintained. It's the surest way to give a man the peace ofind needed for him to thrive. May God never bring a daughter inlaw like this my way. Amen. |
SolnergyPower: ![]() It seems that they graduated with good grades. My hope for an additional degree in law has been rekindled since I can graduate within 2 years. ![]() |
Yorubas are not fools. No one considered religion when we all queued up to vote in Abiola whose VP was also a Muslim. I'd rather vote for anyone who shows the capacity to turn this nation around even if he/she is a traditional worshipper from some remote village. Our problem now transcends tribe or religion. God can use anyone. He qualifies the chosen. When the time comes, God will intervene and sanity will prevail. |
All will be well in due season. |
MyExpression:If you're in Lagos, the train leaves for Ibadan at 8.00am. on weekdays. The return journey is at 6pm. I think it's 8.30 am on Saturdays. You can confirm on their website. Tickets are sold at the Stations...Mobolaji Johnson in Yaba and perhaps Babatunde Fashola in Agege. Omi Adio and Moniya stations in Ibadan. I've travelled to Ibadan on the train. Nice experience. Clean, cool environment with adjustable seats if you want to sleep. Sockets for laptops/ phone charging. Clean toilets, boxroom for heavy luggage apart from the overhead racks. Security personnel on board. The First class and Business Class look virtually the same to me...maybe a little more leg room in the First class compartment. |
Fahdiga:Looks like names from the South South. The point is that they're all Nigerians. No one cares about tribes on the international scene. |
AG should name the lawmaker. He should go further to prove that the fund transferred was used to purchase arms for Boko Haram. |
Crowwe:You're quoting the Old Testament. The New Testament is at root of Christianity. |
Abohboy:Ibadan has many large modern estates. It seems the only portion you've seen is the ancient part of the city which is more prominent online. That's where the old family compounds are. Also the Palace and old markets. There's a thread here on NL depicting some of the new areas. |
Ridiculous and funny assertion! Let's hope there's sufficient proof. Who is the lawmaker? Still waiting for the list of Boko Haram and "bandits" sponsors. |
Issokay, we don hear. Sunday is a Muslim terrorist abi? Can we now have the full list of Boko Haram sponsors? |

If you have a personal relationship with Christ you won't be constantly needing your pastors to see visions for you.
