Konki:
Stop eulogisiing failure.

"The pain of rigging" gang!

Stop spreading sugar over a rotten cake.

The election was not seen to be free and fair as you are claiming!
When has elections ever been free and fair in Nigeria?

The superior rigger always wins, the losers should cut their losses and move on.

Let's stop pretending we had an eldorado, things have always been bad since the 60's.

It is important that the context to which the senator was speaking be established. Could it be possible that there was an accord she had with them and she got her fingers burnt? I have friends I can trust with my life, I have friends I can't trust my feces with, I also have friends that by virtue of their actions I cant trust them again.
PoliticsRe: Why Is Jimi Agbaje Always Playing The Politics Of Tribalism In Lagos? by gabicon: 11:15am On Mar 07, 2019
nairavsdollars:
In the history of Lagos politics, no politician has ran a divisive, ethnic-based and tribalistic campaign like Jimi Agbaje, governorship candidate of the PDP.

When Jimi Agbaje contested the 2007 governorship election under the defunct Democratic Peoples Allliance (DPA), he ran a very robust, issue-based campaign which was acceptable to all Lagosians.

Fast forward to 2015, Jimi Agbaje began a campaign of calumny which seeks to knock the heads of Yorubas living in Lagos against non-indigenes, especially our Igbo brothers from South- East. His promise to elevate Eze Ndigbo to the status of Oba of Lagos greatly angered Oba Rilwan Akiolu, making him to utter the notorious 'perish in the Lagoon' comment?

Now Agbaje as the PDP governorship candidate is running the same campaign again which has pitched Igbos living in Lagos against Yoruba. We say enough is enough.

Yeyesewa of Lagos
The answer is simple, that is the only card he has to play.

The culture of our brothers from the southeast doesn't permit one individual to control so much power. The best way to get across to these brothers is to come from the angle of the way of life of these people (culture).

The problem with this strategy is that our brothers in the southeast do not constitute more than a quarter of the electorate in Lagos to win he has to cut across other ethnic communities in Lagos. it has even gotten worse for JK because Tinubu has enlisted the help of Senate elect Ifeanyi Uba to share the southeasterners votes.

I don't see JK winning, firstly because of the weak structure PDP has in Lagos, secondly because of the weak rigging machinery, thirdly very weak financing and lastly because the majority of those who actually vote (low income earners) are controlled by the APC.
PoliticsRe: Police Fire Tear Gas On Anti-tinubu Protesters In Lagos by gabicon: 12:48pm On Mar 01, 2019
These ones are jokes O to ge movement 8 days to an election? This is dead on arrival. Firstly the o to ge movement in kwara took months to gather momentum, secondly if only saraki was willing to share power he would still be the emperor of kwara, that's one thing tinubu knows how to do share power, there are other strong men in Lagos than tinubu, one of them is the oba of Lagos, I call them the power brockers of lagos, Tinubu is the head and face of this group.

PoliticsRe: Peter Obi Accuses INEC Of Disenfranchising Eight Million South-east Voters by gabicon: 8:52am On Feb 27, 2019
Total number of PVC collected in the south east is 6.6million.
These politicians should stop all these falsehood based on statistics from 1999-2015 the south east has not recorded more than 4 million voters turnout, so where is the 8 million coming from? combined with the fact that voter turnout has been dwindling over the electoral timelines.

It is a wonderful how many still don't understand how the north works, the modus operandi is simply, whoever the north considers as it's leader is the person they follow. Let me shock you with an analogy, if the late Sani Abacha contest against Atiku he will win hands down.
FamilyRe: My Wife Is Not Interested In Sex Anymore by gabicon: 3:21am On Feb 19, 2019
Ajengogo:
We have been married for almost 10 years now, with 5 kids. The last child is over 2 years old. My wife used to indulge me with sex a lot. And I enjoyed every bit of it. Sometimes I indulge her a lot too. I do sometimes resist it. Same with her too. Such has been our sex life so far; which has been good enough.

However, I started noticing a lot of reluctance in her each time I approach her for sex more than a year ago now. And it is getting worse these days. Each time I demand an explanation from her, she either complains of tiredness, headache or that she is seeing her period. The surprising thing to me now is that each time I touch her breast she cringes like a person that just stepped on naked electrical wire. Not to even mention several weird nightmares I experience each time I force my way, which even against my personal principles and ethics.

Note that I don't do sex like on a daily basis. Once or twice in a week is ok for me

Our sex life is dying. I don't know what becomes of this marriage without sex. And I do really love her. Any good suggestions will be appreciated
Oga, start doing house chores and thank me later. A woman taking care of 5 little kids and a grown up kid is bound to fall into depression especially when the grown up kid doesn't do anything in the house.
BusinessRe: ‘Dangote Refinery’ll Not Sell Petrol At Regulated Price’- The Nation by gabicon: 1:00pm On Feb 04, 2019
Only a lunatic will expect dangote to sell at regulated prices, the man is a business man with a singular aim of making profit. If our market does not favour him he will switch to other markets. Secondly if Nigeria buys dangote fuel it will be way cheaper than from any other countries because of zero international fright cost. By 2020 I foresee the total deregulation of the down stream sector.
PoliticsRe: Why Moghalu, Durotoye, Ezekwesili, Others Stand No Chance By Deji Yesufu by gabicon: 11:02am On Jan 24, 2019
I was listening to someone on the radio who's said he had traveled for work in 16 states this year, and of all the 16 states he traveled only 2 states have people heard about the third wheel political parties. Most of the states he traveled to are in the south not to talk of the north, the fact remains that APC & PDP are the only parties with solid grassroots that comb around every nook and Conners of the country. The 2015 election PMB got 15m votes GEJ 12m votes the other parties 300k votes, even if a coalitions of the third force is put together they can't get up to 1 million votes because they have no political structure.

Even if you give the 3rd force 4 years they can't come up with anything? Why? Because the structure the PDP used to win in 1999 was an already existing structure from 1992, Rome was not built in a day the like of Atiku have been in the political game for a very long time and have nurtured their political empire fror cradle to where they are today.

Those of us on social media come under the illusion that we determine the out come of elections but the sad truth is that it is the women getting tradermoni, the poor farmer, the uneducated youth, the agbero, and the beggars that determine the outcome of elections. Why? Because for every one of us there are 10 of them, how do I get my statistics? Check the poverty ratio and you will get the picture. As the saying goes there is power in numbers.

What's the way forward? Infiltrate the APC & PDP, we need to all join political parties and strengthen our voices there, that's the only way we can start shaping these parties to have ideology.
RomanceRe: An Advice On How To Deal With A Disrespectful Lady. by gabicon: 9:07am On Jan 22, 2019
Nijanija:
Hello guys ,please I need an advice on how to deal with the above headlines .........so it is about my lady and I . We have been into a relationship for the past 6 months. Fast forward ;

I got to find out in the early part of our relationship that she use to have a long discussion on the phone with someone I do not know, each time I try to call her on phone. So I was forced to ask her if she has a man she's been friends with, she confessed to me that they have been dating for over 8 years and the relationships once hit the rocks due to the fact that the man refused to go see her parents.

So later in the month of January, she told me the man will be coming home to bury his mum along side her siblings. So the week she was to go meet the man in Lagos which was her usual practice each time he's coming home, we had a quarrel about her meeting with the man after she promised me it was over between them. So we ended up settling our differences and I agreed to let her go see the man.

Since over two weeks my lady has been with the man despite the man's wife threats to leave her husband alone. She is still with the man.

I want to know if such relationship is healthy for me . As I'm losing patient and focus to daily activities (She is stubborn and won't admit her fault)
Every relationship be it business, platonic or romantic is built on mutual respect and loyalty. Your relationship lacks both, it's bad enough that your lady is talking to an ex n it is worse that the ex is married. Every real man will walk away we don't have the stomach for drama, life is too short for it.

I'm a guy in my mid 20s. I'm not that extra extra handsome but I'm good looking. I'm still living with my parents and i dont know where this energy is coming from. Everyone around me thinks I'm rich, like having hundreds of thousand in my account when I actually don't have cry cry
I don't over dress(as in dress to show off) and I don't spend extravagantly. And maybe because I am the quiet type, people fear/respect me.
Even in my family the 1st or 2nd born don't dare talk to me anyhow talk less of my juniors.

One more thing.. this makes people come to me for money and as I am not the stingy type, i always give if i have

Nairalanders please what can i do to deal with this situation because it might probably stop people from helping me thinking I'm INDEPENDENT
I perceive you have the seed of greatness, stop worrying about what people think or feel and start nurturing the seed you carry.

Wonderful bt here the problem Atiku isn’t seeing. America doesn’t run their economy from one source like us which depend solely on oil. If u diversify the economy it will be very ok and easy to privatize NNPC.
The move will single handly kill the civil service, increase poverty by more than 50%, the states will go comatose.
PoliticsRe: Atiku: NNPC Is A Mafia Organisation… I Will Privatise It Even If They’ll Kill Me by gabicon: 3:14pm On Jan 16, 2019
theoldpretender:
It is either we privatize NNPC, and allow it to become a proper profit making organisation, while at the same time removing subsidy and saving millions upon billions which we can use for other things...like railways, etc....or we keep NNPC...and keep the attendant corruption.

I don't like PDP...but privatizing NNPC is long overdue.
I think we should be through before making this decision, first of all, what have we privatized that has worked?

Who are we privatizing t to?

If NNPC is privatized how do we fund our budget?

If NNPC is privatized it would be run like the OML thing, a few people with long legs will make a lot of money from it?

I'm not against Privatization but at present, the country s not ripe for it.
PoliticsRe: Atiku: NNPC Is A Mafia Organisation… I Will Privatise It Even If They’ll Kill Me by gabicon: 3:04pm On Jan 16, 2019
we all agree that privatization is key to efficiency, the question is privatize it to who?

NEPA was privatized but we still experience epileptic electricity, what makes us think if we privatize our only cash cow will kill the mafia syndrome?

There are more questions than answers.

tommyken:
If a man can see the future and consequence of his every action then I believe no man will make a mistake but nature never design it that way.

After my ssce I join my uncle in business and was making enough money and even open account with two different bank but my aspiration was to go to school. after I wrote jamb and pass, my uncle who I was doing the business with began to advice me seriously to forget about school and make enough but I never listen and instead I thought he was just jealous although he is also a graduate but no job made him start the business which later benefit him.

Fast forward to months later I got admission and spent almost all my money for school expenses and rent because my parents were poor and am even the first child of the family so I did all the admission expenses with my saving .then I return to square one with hunger in school just in the name of university education which I later regret.

Am currently in 200 level but the funny thing is that I have lost all passion for school and don't even like going for lectures. The regret is still eating deep in me because with the way I see graduate living in peanut salary I ask myself what stupid enthusiasm even push me to school. please am thinking of dropping out of school now and to use this 100k which my aunty in London sent for me to continue in business and then later learn a skill in IT instead of wasting it to pay for school fee.

Please I will need advice from you all.
I would have suggested you did part time study. In fact these days there are a lot of online degrees that enable one study at their own pace. You can explore one of these degrees and at the same time run your business.

PoliticsRe: Dogara: Trader Moni Is Direct Vote Buying by gabicon: 1:48pm On Dec 10, 2018
If tradermoni is vote buying then what was youwin? Empowerment?

The problem here is not tradermoni, the problem here is that PDP are broke pure and simple. I remember a fellow telling me Atiku will win d 2019 election and he accompany his theory with numbers, I just laughed and said wait till APC bring out it's money chest.

The APC learnt from the failure of PDP in 2015 don't give people monies through any organiser give it to them directly.

By the way the monies chest hasn't been opened yet, when it is opened just watch out for how they infiltrate the PDP.

Zamfara has potential but it takes a leader with a vision to see it and actualise it. Come to think of it Zamfara can be the world capital for cashew nuts or moringa.
PoliticsRe: I’ll Provide Uninterrupted Electricity – Ezekwesili by gabicon: 2:10pm On Dec 03, 2018
Un-interupted electricity is possible. How?

1) remove import duties on solar panels and batteries and inverters the overall price will crash by half. A 200ah battery will cost at most 40k, 200w solar panel 20k.

2) every new power plant of below 100 megawatts don't have to feed the national grid.

3) we are flaring gas daily as it stands, pipe the gas to all zones crash the price of gas and remove import tariff's on gas turbines for 4 years. Let estates come together and purchase gas turbines.

It all about ideas and execution, getting power to all Nigerians is not rocket science.

Christianity EtcRe: RCCG Lady Renounces Membership Because Of VP Osinbajo. See Reactions by gabicon: 3:05am On Dec 02, 2018
Some Christians cease to amaze me, it's a matter of fact that they are not too bright, first of all a VP is meant to assist the president not take over or argue with his decision. Secondly all the time the VP stood as acting president we all fealt the pulse change didn't we?

Thirdly for those who want him to resign, things are this bad with a righteous man there, imagine how things will be when we have an unrighteous man there. Our Bible never asked us to criticize our leaders, it asked us to pray for them, we can't do both at the same time.

Let's stop trying to consume people more righteous than we are, it's ok to disagree but it isn't ok to be disagreeable.
CareerRe: Help! My Boss Is Taking Credit For My Work by gabicon: 9:46am On Nov 29, 2018
MrOpp:
Hello my fellow NLers,

I have been spending quite sometime on this forum recently, TBH, it has been informative, entertaining & quite educative.

I am presently in a dilemma and I need urgent input from experienced NLers, I believe we have experienced career people here that must have gone through what am going through at the moment.

I got a job about 6months ago, its quite a good job, thanks to Nairaland job section, on resumption I notice there was a total overhaul of my dept, all former staff were fired and we were employ to replace them. I resume same day with my Dept Manager two months later a junior officer was employ to join us.

I have had a fantastic relationship with my manager the past six months, and we are in good terms, we drive home together everyday, we chat, have quality conversation, even lunch together etc. but am really becoming worried about something else....

My manger seems to take credit for all my work, he somehow deny me opportunity to prove my worth to top management. Now I will give you a typical instance.

Whenever our GMD comes around, there is always a meeting with one rep from each dept. not neccessarily the departmental head, in his absence am suppose to represent the department, he denies me of opportunity like this.

He has on many occassions deny my opportunity to meet the GMD on job related issues, when the GMD needs to see someone from my dept. or sign some documents even in his absence, he either call me to handover documents to the GMD secretary or send an office assistant to drop the document.

Furthermore, on resumption, I noticed the coy still run their account dept manually, an accounting software was introduce, a software i have used for years, which he (my Manager) is not familiar with, though after the software was deploy, we were trained, even after the training he seems not to know his way around the software interface, i single handedly automated all historial data for the previous 2yrs, and my manager took the credit at the magt meetings. Without even mentioning my name, its really annoying.

I am totally pissed right not cos, he just got a pay rise courtesy to the successful deployment and automation of the accounting system, which he knows absolutely nothing about, which i singledhandedly, paintstakingly work on for over 6months even investing my Saturdays.

The above is one instance out of so many.

I expect a manager to represent work done my the department he manages as "WE in so & so dept" I have overheard him many times using "I".

He personally ask me not to pass any dept info to mgt staff member, and all enquiries should be refered to him. I feel he doesnt want me to shine.

I need advise from fellow NLers who have gone through similar situation.

This is not really going well with me.

PoliticsRe: Question: Why Can't We Campaign For One Of These Younger Minds? by gabicon: 10:35am On Nov 19, 2018
The reason is simply ideological subversion perpetrated by the ruling class.

Ideological subversion is the change in perception of reality of every young Nigerian to such an extent that despite the abundance of information, no one is able to come to sensible conclusions in the interests of defending themselves, their families, their community and their country.

I mean PMB has done very poorly but his follower's perception has been engineered to want him back, Atiku and his PDP clan are crooks that have robbed the nation blind but despite the abundance of proof, many young people are still atikulated.

The recalibration of mind of our youths started some 20 years ago when our teachers preferred us cramming their notes and regurgitating it in exams, killing every form of creativity in us. our perception of reality has simply been what the whoever is in authority says.

if you really want to understand what is happenng to Nigerian youths read the article link:

Reduce pump price and increase subsidy thereby returning the subsidy scam. Please let's stop dragging Dangote refineries into this, cos the fact of the matter is if Ghana n Togo are willing to pay higher prices for pms, Dangote will sell to them first before he sells to Nigeria. We need leaders that will help us create prosperity for ourselves not leaders that will keep on giving us handouts.
