And the problems have just begun oooo. Our political parties lack structure. I just hope the presidential primary election does not disintegrate the party. All this use and dump when something better comes is not healthy.

the number 1 priority of any government is to create prosperity for her citizens. The main reason the government can't meet up with its recurrent expenditure is the size of its budget. 9 trillion naira for almost 200 million people is a huge joke, that is 45k per person in a year lets ask ourselves what can 45 k do for a citizen in a year? I'm not exonerating financial irresponsibility on the part of the government but lets face it we wont go very far on a lean budget irrespective of how judicious it is spent.

Smart politician, create some leverage for the future just like Saraki is doing. I can't win but you would have to give me something for stepping aside for you.

I wish they succeeded and moved from assembling to actual manufacturing as it would've reduced the cost of cars in Nigeria. I was excited when it came as i wish for (fantasized) cost of brand new cars coming down and the cost of fixing their brands too reducing as stallion as dwelt with us with both sale and repairs

Any country without a steel industry will struggle with manufacturing, companies like Nissan have to import all parts of the cars they assemble, when we combine the cost of parts cost of shipping and cos of clearing, the overhead is already huge thereby making the price of the vehicle expensive.

Well, mou's are good its the implementation that is the important thing. Truth be told Nigeria is not a market, how many people can afford to buy a new car in Nigeria? So if these companies begin operation who will buy the finished product? Government buying vehicles can't be considered as a serious market these companies need volume sales to break even.

The likes of IVM, coscharis, Peugeot, and Nissan are feeling the pressure of a weak market already, many of them depend on government agencies for survival.

Solution to this problem is increasing purchasing power of citizens.

Enough of the compare my solution to agriculture challenge is to set up a company with the local government having 50% control the state 30% and federal 20%. Let $2billion be withdrawn from our savings and shared equally amon all the local governments of the federation but the local government won't be given the liquid cash, the cash should be used to purchase Morden farming equipments and shared to all local government offices of the company.

The purchase process will involve sending people from all local government for training on how to maintain the new equipments and the manufacturer setting up assembly plants in all geopolitical zones.

The company is tasked with the responsibility of leasing equipments to farmers at a cost and maintaining these equipments. If a state doesn't want to farm they can partner with other states by leasing their equipment and deciding on a payment deal.

This idea is to accommodate food multiplication only.

I wonder why some folks are pointing at PMB as a result of the present poverty, the man simply made a terrible situation worse. The situation has been terrible for a very long time. According to OPEC annual report,

from 1990 - 1998 we earned $119.8b from oil sale (13%)
from 1999 - 2009 we earned $401.4b from oil sale (40%)
from 2010 - 2014 we earned $381.9b from oil sale (38%)

what have we done with all these monies? if you ask me the worst government we have ever had is the GEJ government, the reasons being that the government earned so much and has little to show for it.

According to the world bank as at 2003 we had 63.9 million people living below the poverty line, the number increased to 71 million in 2009, as of today we are in 87 million. poverty trajectory is steadily increasing year in year out from 1960 till date, one of the reasons is population growth if we haven't fixed the poverty issues of 100 people the problem becomes a lot harder to fix when we have 250 people.

a population is only a blessing when a majority of the population are productive, it becomes a curse when they are not. some say we should all go back to farming, but they seem to forget that the wealth of farming lies in using supporting technology (mechanization).

Solution to our problems are simple, restructure in the lines of economy, trade, security and infrastructure. we will be surprised that there is more wealth in the north than in the south.

What has the purchasing power of indigenes have to do with tourism? The indigenes provide a service outsiders require and the outsiders pay for this service, that's the abc of tourism.

Please evaluate the vision of the startup and the character of its leader befor joining one. Many startups don't have a well thought out plan, yes things on paper may look different in reality, the vision needs to accommodate these realities. Secondly if the leader is egocentric and not a people person that's a big problem cos a leader of a startup needs to ensure that members of the team love what they are doing and he provides enough inspiration for them to perform. Thirdly mutual respect some people carry the CEO title like they are gods showing little or no respect to employees, well the time will come when the leader will require sacrifice of his employees, its that time you reap what you have sown. If you have done well expect positve if you have done poorly expect the latter.

If we are talking of greed Fayose should be the SI unit owing 5 months salary of civil servants, local government workers 6 months, pensioners 8 months, no gratuities since 2015. Ekiti deserves far better than Fayemi but as it is Fayemi is a better option than Eleka.

The likes of Saraki are working on thin ice, how do I mean if his alliance with the opposition works his profit will be huge, but if he leaves the APC and PMB wins that will be a political suicide. Trust Saraki he doesnt make a move until he is sure of his opponent's hand.

Ekiti was in the bag for PDP if only they had a credible primary election, and uncle Ayo just paid workers. I guess uncle Ayo was just trying to cover up his tracks of colossal fund mismanagement, but he should have known that godfather Politics in Nigeria is dead ando buried.

This election has taught me that bread is stronger than idealogy. But sides of the divide behaved shamefully but come to think of it they both understood what the challenges were and capitalised on the wide spread poverty prevalence in the state.

Well uncle Ayo this is how it feels to use federal might to win an election landslide at least let's applaud the APC for not going that far. Let the blame games begin.

Your challenge is networking and relationship building AKA connection. I remember speaking to 2 top hr directors in the UK and both of them told me that they got their jobs through recommendations.

it's evident that you are smart, I recommend that you attend Job fairs or even volunteer to work for free (short term) that way you will meet people that can recommend you when they see an opening.

The job market in Nigeria is very saturated every slightly advantage needs to be capitalised on.

The project is all shades of myopic in nature, Lagos should be considering mass transit like rail n monorail. Yes it's expensive but that's the solution to the horrendous traffic in lagos.

I have been thinking how you combine your job and your Masters (full time) program. I know some people that have started their M.sc but could not complete it because of their job.

Some of them say they could not create time to attend 50% of lectures. Most times they go into the exam not knowing what to write. One of my close pal even tried to finish but did not write his thesis because there was no time for him to do it.

It difficult in Nigeria especially when higher institutions don't have flexible programs. I work and run my MBA online in a uni in the uk, my friend just finished an MSC in energy systems from a uk uni all done online. yes it is expensive and may require longterm planning but it cuts the stress. I remember a friend running to attend a test on Saturday at one of our Nigerian uni's and the lecturer not showing up. you cant try out unicaf.

Nigerians spend all their time fasting and praying and forget to get creative, then they run around to find fast money in order to buy imported food, cream, phone and wrist-watches so they dont have to waste time being creative when they should be worshipping God. Now churches run 5 services on Sundays, and a midweek service on wednesdays, not forgetting tarry nights and vigils.

The mohammedans are not left out, they pray a fuccking 5 times a day, and are constantly checking their time to make sure they dont miss a date with Allahu, what remains of their time is spent separating quarrels between their 4 wives, the rest is spent reminding the kids of the need to go to the Alfas and Imams for tutelages.

So, what time do we have to plant tomatoes or engineer apples that can grow on our climate.

We are not poor because we are religious, we are poor as a country because we have found an excuse in God.

Yet money does not grow on trees. Dangote should have known better. He has been making serious business mistakes of late, one of which is building $18B Refinery when electric cars and solar panels are the future. I really question the true source of his wealth. How are his projects financed ? From which sources ? He pays back loans at the speed of light, well, almost. Just to create impression of 'source' ? It could be these politicians just financing him till his retirement and eventual demise. It could just be a ponzi that takes money from early mules and paying the new politicians. I envy the man, I truly do, but if I have access to such money, then I should be able to buy up Nigeria and put everyone on a universal basic income from what I can do with that money.

As it is with the tomato factories, so will it be with the refineries in the next 20 yrs. This is the new world order.

Dangote may have been making mistakes of late, but the refinery he is building is not one of such mistakes. Think of it how much do we spend as a country importing PMS alone? It runs to billions of dollars yearly to be specific $28 billion. 50% of the price of PMS is tied to crude then running cost, dangote should be raking in nothing less than $15 billion profit yearly and if he runs for 10 years only you can do the maths of his wealth.

if I remember correctly dangote said the refinery will cost $9 billion, dangote is financing about $3 billion, Africa development Bank is bringing 2 billion, the indians and Chinese are also involved.

Secondly it will take more than 10 years for electric cars to gain footing in Africa, I mean we're are the infrastructure? We don't have electricity to power our homes is it cars we will be powering?

Before we castigate dangote for poor business choice it will be nice to remember that running a business is not a walk in the park and mistakes are bound to happen some one can recover from some we can't.

We need to discuss as a nation how we decommission people with combat skills, and how we can integrate them back to the society. I mean the man was trained to secure lives and property with a weapon if necessary, when he is dismissed how else do we expect him to make a living considering that he has only one skill?
