Travel › Re: My Friends Exploiting Money From Me, Advice Needed by ImaIma1(f): 3:28pm On Jul 28, 2020
ikoroduarea:
Hi all,

I will really appreciate if moderator can help push this to front page.

Firstly, insults are welcome. I reside in Europe. Two of my friends they are biological brothers, they've been sucking me. I have been sending them money regularly for years, yes years, but I now realised that these people are not ready to work or learn any skill. Even their own biological brother in abroad reported them to me and doesn't take them serious anymore except their mum. Infarct, i used to send money to their mum too. But they just keep asking me for money everytime. Imagine I just sent you money when you said you are sick, two days after you sent me voice record asking me for money to rent a shop. Then the younger one who's chat bellow asking me for 100k for three of them as if I am picking money on the floor here. To some people in Nigeria who always think all nigerians in diaspora think we always think you're begging for money whenever you say hi just to hear from us, it is not the case. How about this too?

I am really tired. My wife who always agree I should help them have started complaining too. These two friends suddenly changed because I used to send them money even before they ask. It's like every week one problem must happen to them that require money. They will just send account number and the deadline time. They keep coming, coming, coming back again after giving. I have paid hundreds of thousands of naira for visa processing for one of them maybe at least they will stop asking me for money and one will be able to help his brother, but the visa was unsuccessful.

Few days ago one of them ask me to give him my sister's number that he just want to greet her since it's been years he saw her last. Behold, the next day my sister called to ask when did I hear from my friend last and did he mention about financial problem to me, I told my sister that he called me two days ago and asked of her number which I gave him. My sister said he requested for money to support his house rent and she sent him some money. I was shocked. Can you imagine guys? My friend. I am not saying it's a crime for him to ask my sister money but why lie to me that you just want to greet her when you asked me for her number? Whereas I just sent him money too not even up to a week.

See another demand again, see my reply, see his reply.

I know one or the two of them will start gossiping me around that I am proud, but they won't tell them about the good I have done for them, I have been doing. They won't. Some friends are not worth it anymore. I am very upset now that it's affecting me mentally and with my wife. Even my children were asking me last night "dad are you alright, you're not happy".

You know what again, one of them sent messages to my wife asking for mobile phone. I saw it but my wife didn't know that I saw it not until I responded to him myself and told my wife to never bother. My wife later sent the phone to him. Since then he's been using that opportunity to demand from her. Though he eventually stopped it but continue asking me only.

I have sent so much money but they just never stop asking. And I am not the time that take pictures and flaunt them on social media. I live my life on low-key.

I need your honest opinion.

Insults are welcome I promise I won't react to any insult.

I wanted to block them on my social media especially on WhatsApp but I had a rethink so they won't feel like I am proud because I am in abroad.

cry
Don't you want to have savings? Don't you want to be able to cater well for your wife and children?

What about your own family (siblings and parents)? Do they bother you this much?

Those people have seen you as a maga. Please cut them off because they will never stop. They will always have one problem running into another problem and they have built their tent on your head.

They are able men. Let then go and hustle for themselves. I don't think you are helping them by always giving them. Don't be shocked if they have built their houses with the money you are sending them while you haven't.

Jobs/Vacancies › Re: Advice Me. Should I Accept The Job? by ImaIma1(f):
The most advice you will get is to take the job while you are looking for a better one. It is not a bad advice. Although, some of these low paying jobs have the tendency to keep you down there until you are caught up in the system of low paying jobs and start believing that there are no jobs out there.

Also, such jobs will take your time, energy and you would probably not have the chance to go for other interviews. These jobs pay low but the workload is usually not proportionate to the salary.

Take your time to think about the long term rather than short. Whatever you decide should work.

Love the bolded part

Rules like telling someone which kind of work he should accept or not accept.

For example If the person(JW) works in a construction company, and the manager get a contract to do some work on a CHURCH building. The JW is advised if it is totally impossible for him to be absent, he can decide to go to the site and work but not work extensively while on the site.

Ask them where that one dey for Bible? You no go see answer.

Or they say God say we should stop touching the unclean things, how will one not touch unclean things when they told the same person to not work extensively there.

How will they measure what is extensive work and not extensive work on UNCLEAN things grin grin angry
Or asking them not to sing the national anthem, pledge, etc.

I know quite a lot about them. I have an ex member here. In fact our union was frowned upon by some extended family members especially. Even his mum said she would only attend the traditional. When he told her not to come at all, she changed her mind.

I see these things. You can imagine having morning devotion and someone walks out and goes to sit outside till it is over. And you expect me to listen to your people when they come knocking.

It is the way they teach. Na dem sabi

The bottom line is they make rules that all those associating with them must abide by! Act 15:26-29

They control members saying "excommunicate whoever is not ready to live by the rules!" 1Corinthians 5:9-13

So your post saying you don't belong to an organization were members are to live by rules and get excommunicated if they refused to mean you're not ready for true Christianity! smiley
We live by the grace of God. Although that doesn't mean we misuse it because grace abounds. But you live by rules, not even rules from the Bible but man made rules, rules subject to the error of man.

My church doesn't come up with rules; especially one that seeks to excommunicate people who leave the church. That even makes them know that they made the right choice by leaving; leaving people who can no longer love them because they left.

@ bolded should help you to know if you're truly a Christian or unbeliever! undecided

Satan has blinded most people, making them to think they're Christians whereas they're just deceiving themselves! 2Corinthians 4:4

For instance you said you're not a member of an organization that has rules which you must abide by or else get excommunicated! undecided

Whereas the first century Christian congregation had rules made compulsory for all members! Act 15:26-29

They do excommunicate members who refuses to live by the rules! 1Corinthians 5:9-13

For your information the four gospel writers are to tell you about Jesus' ministry and how he gathered his group, but the Act of Apostle and the letters is to help you know if the group you're worshiping with are Christians or blinded worshipers of Satan practicing iniquity! Matthew 7:21-23 smiley
What kind of rules did they make compulsory that wasn't directly from God's word?

As long as it doesn't involve twisting scriptures to soothe them or to control people...

The bolded should be of great help to you!

As a soldier of Christ you must belong to an army, that's where you're told what to do so that your effort can be accounted for along with what other soldiers are doing, that's where orderliness comes in. 1Corinthians 14:33, 40

Without this setting anyone going about with weapons is an armed robber. That's why Jesus said he will declare most people claiming Christians workers of iniquity {Matthew 7:21-23} because they're carrying the sword of the spirit (Bible){Ephesians 6:17} about without being attached to any organized arrangement. They can decide any code of conduct that soothes them and they don't care what others claiming Christians around them believe regarding rules.
That's why all of you are claiming Christians but can't agree on doctrines! Luke 11:23

So we emphatize with you as a sheep without shepherd, you can't understand why Christians were admonished not to forsake the gathering of ourselves together! Hebrew 10:24-25

We are Jehovah's Witnesses! The one and only TRUE Christian Organization, if you're not with us you can never have any spiritual family in other places where you've not been to, let me remind you that that's what Jesus promised his true followers {Matthew 10:30} Do you think you can travel to any distant land be welcomed hospitably just because you claim to be a Christian? Well that's what you should be enjoying now if truly you're one of Jesus' true followers, Jehovah's Witnesses enjoy all of this because there is true LOVE amongst God's people! John 13:34-35 smiley
I am in a church that encourages me to study the word and live according to the word of God, not an organization that has rules that I have to follow or else I get excommunicated.

Please tell me, what would you do to a person who pledge to live by the same rules with you, made you feel you're not alone and when you needed him most he looked at you in the face and said "i lied! i can't live by that stupid pledge, i just tricked you" then right in your face, he walked away as if there wasn't anything binding you together? undecided

Well the first century Christians said "don't welcome him in your house, don't even greet him" 2John 10-11

So soothe yourself! wink
This is quite harsh.

But I believe the Bible still binds you both together as long as the person is still a Christian.

However, I don't think this is always followed especially for family members. People cannot just excommunicate their family members forever.

Your own have pass me oh, please the Bible is not the invention of JW's undecided
Faithful men of old were inspired by God's holy spirit to write the Bible and that's what JW's hold dearly. Take it or leave it. (Romans 15:4, 2Timothy 3:16, 2Peter 1:20,21)

ImaIma1 : I guess you guys get a special training on how to argue. Carry on!

DappaD : What a subtle way of disengaging yourself from this thread grin
I take it that you do not like engaging in mental exercises often grin
Mental exercise or meaningless arguments?

You think acting "funny" all over the thread makes you seem smart and interesting enough for "mental exercise"? It's just typical of you to start rambling and getting worked up when someone disagrees with your concepts.

I always prefer to opt out of a conversation with people who seem insultive rather than intelligent. So have fun discussing your views with someone else.

Meanwhile @the bolded, we're following Bible instruction at Genesis 9:4, Leviticus 17:11,12, Deuteronomy 12:23, Acts 15:28,29 NOT to consume blood in any form.
So if it's biting you that JW's are following Bible instruction to the last detail— go and hug the nearest transformer close to you grin grin

Nothing is pinching me as long as they don't bring that nonsense near me.

So you're 100% correct Sir, that's what every JW know from infancy! wink

Certainly you don't know what you're saying!

It's like saying someone doesn't believe in cleaning yet his clothe is ever clean! huh
How does that sound to you?

Do you know the fruit of God's holy spirit?

For your information, a tree could have many [GIFTS but no fine FRUIT

GIFTS~ Big, Shady, Good looking, Undisturbing root, herbal leaves, Fine fragrance and so on. Surely you will fine thousands of trees like that in the forest.

FRUIT~ this is just one unique product that you can't find anywhere else if not that same particular tree!

So the GIFTS you should expect when spirits are involved in any form of worship are
Signs, Wonders, Songs, Prophecies, Speaking in tongues, Knowledge and sacred service.

But the FRUIT you should expect from God's holy spirit is just one having all these Qualities~ LOVE, JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, GOODNESS, GENTLENESS, FAITH, MILDNESS and SELF-CONTROL

Apostle Paul made it clear that these GIFTS will later seize amongst true followers of Christ {1Corinthians 13:8-10} whereas the FRUIT Jesus spoke about will continue to be evident amongst true Christians! Galatians 5:22-23

So check again now if Jehovah's Witnesses don't believe in the spirit bearing that FRUIT {James 2:18-26} then present a better group that's producing that FRUIT! Matthew 7:16-18 smiley
This looks like a reference page or template for "arguments about not believing in the Holy Spirit" because I am reading it like I am reading Psalm 23...something I have seen over and over and almost crammed. It seems it's from the same lesson notes of all JWs.

It's not true. The love may be shown differently but I don't think one sex loves more.

Reminds me of my friend who has two boys and said she prefers boys and she wants to have another boy because they look out for their mums more and they are closer to their mums.

I know she goes to see her mum often because their father is late. So I asked her that among all of them,(she and her siblings) who visits and calls the mum more. She thought about it. Long story short, she is hoping for a female child now.
