chiommy123: honestly the way we care about parents and family is quiet different from how we care about outsiders. that's the truth I don't know about others But when you get married, most of your resources should be to your new family and both families need to respect that. From what i have seen where i come from, when a man is married, they give him his distance and privacy. And they understand that he has a wife and needs to focus on his family. But many families i see from other tribes ia different. The family fight the wife for taking hia attention. If he is not sending money as usual, they blame her. No child should carry the responsibility of his/her siblings so much that they can't freely spend on their own wife/husband and kids. Parents should have children they can cater for and give them the basic education rather than have many children with the hope that the first born will take care of the younger siblings at the detriment of building his own life. That is where most of these conflicts arise from and it can be avoided |

chiommy123: but they took care of him. is not supposed to take care of them too Who else is supposed to take care of a child? The church? Lol. When parents bring a child to the world, it is their duty to take care of them till they are adults. The children should not be made to feel indebted to their parents. That does not mean we should abandon our parents and not care for them. |

Can the guy himself handle it? Or he will turn to a nag when life hits him.
I could date a guy like that but not marry especially if i don't have a better income. We could get married when our finances get better.
I know how much baby food and diapers are. And babies must eat and poop. I don't want a husband that will start negotiating the baby's diapers, food, etc.
Besides, for the sake of the man's ego, he should earn better first. |

dominique: A lot of men are very ok with their immediate families bullying and harassing their wives, (some even join in) that's why they think it is abnormal for a man to stand up for his wife against his family. They are quick to idolize their mums and treat their wives like strangers who came to punctuate or interrupt their family. They would rather uplift their mums instead of stand up for their wives. They don't realize that their fathers stood up for their wives. |

AmazonTopaz: Highly commendable.
Husband materials should learn from this. One guy will use "my wife will take it for granted" as excuse. They prefer to sit down and watch super sport while wifey slaves in the kitchen as a real wife material. Thank God i married someone who thinks pounding yam is not a woman's job especially his wife's. This kind of men are going into extinction. |
Romance › Re: The "I Trained Her In School Yet She Left Me" Issues by ImaIma1(f): 12:24pm On Jul 30, 2018 |
cruchenutii: Yes those guys crying fowl on NL romance section are just Immature & what they are crying fowl about is not really significant, We are talking of crying fowl about a Lady you trained in school, thats a big deal. Most guys here will be crying fowl over the 5k they spent on a girl on a date for not sleeping with them in return.
Abeg, Shey na that ones we dey worry about? Jeez!!! You are mean...lol. They are coming for you. Their posts make me cringe. The immaturity and ignorance is disappointing and just plain annoying...like there is something fundamentally wrong with these men that should be boys. Well, i don't think a guy should take the burden of sending a girl he intends to marry to school because there is the possibility that she won't end up marrying him. Why take that risk? If he wants to help her with no strings attached? Fine!! It even happens the other way round. A babe from a wealthy home cleans up a guy she is dating and he uses her money on other girls and then marries someone else. It is not a gender thing. It is more of a conscience thing. |

cruchenutii: You know a lot of Men are been jilted but Its women's nature to always cry fowl, tell everyone and claim victim every time.
Men are even scared to complain that a girl even jilted them, because the society would laugh them to scorn, they just keep quiet & cry in silence. I can't tell you how many women have attempted to almost turn me to mugu in the name of Marriage/Relationship.
Ofcourse my friends must not hear that a girl used my head. I rather Kip Chut Are you not on Nairaland? Men cry fowl more than women! Infact the men here weep fowl . Countless threads that men create are filling up NL. Just search around. |

It is indeed a looong post.
To be fair, despite the fact that we have men who are not worthy to be called "men" save for their gender, we still have some that are men in all intents and purposes.
The bad eggs have a way of nullifying the good ones but there are still men that take responsibility and take charge of a situation, family, etc.
There are the ones that cannot see past women being "oloshos" but they will also grow up and be responsible men. If they don't learn on their own, life will teach them the hard way. |

appsdope: Oh extra extra so she just started insulting you. She said the same thing as you. You both had an argument and you asked her to leave. although she didn't go into details. Bad mouth is the nearest synonym to women and I knew from the onset that she said a lot of nasty things. My ex girlfriend insulted me to the extent that she told me that my father was born out of wedlock. I never told her that o and I didnt know but Somehow she knew. By the way since when did get the hell out of my house become a joke? How will we know if you meant it? She bought the land and started the project so how on earth are you supposed to own the property? The house shouldn't be in your name in the first place. The property is hers. Rent an apartment and move your family that's if you still want the marriage. As for the house, it belongs to her. Go and build your own. As for me, I cant stay in a house where a woman bought even the spoon. Because when you use that spoon to eat and there is an issue, she will tell you how that spoon she bought has been saving your life forgetting that you bought every other thing. At the bolded, even men remind women that it is their house and threaten to send them packing every now and then. And that is just what the OP did when he thought it was his house. |

dabiton: Just like it is possible that he is being manipulated by another woman who can never ever love him unconditionally!!! The lady could leave for a 'RICHER' man without coming to Nairaland to seek opinions. Ask your Mumcy WHY and what her reasons are? And objectively analyse her response! shine your eyes wella cos love could blind your eyes to an obvious hell hole that your mother could have seen. Just watch your steps!.. Maternal instincts are real!!
And if you need to end the relationship, give it time and APPLY THE PRINCIPLES OF FRIENDZONING. The relationship will YAMUTU naturally and peacefully if you play your cards well... Always consider - AT LEAST PAY SOME ATTENTION TO- the views of people that are more experienced in your life IF they love God and you are convinced they love you... your mother should meet that criteria, brother. She will love you from cradle to grave! I don't think it is a good mindset to be in a relationship with a thought that ur girlfriend will leave for a richer guy. When you meet the right one, you will know. And at that point, you will oppose your mum if she tries to stop you As an adult, your mum should only advice but never impose her opinion on her children. Your mum is a woman like that babe and she was once a fiancee too. My mum would always say that we are the ones that will leave with our choice of a spouse. That we should marry who we want and make it work. |

Children prone to DS are not likely to come before age 45. ur friends experience is a downer and an exception.
True most unmarried women after 30 are the exceptional results of their actions over the past years, either in omission or commission.... but to some extent a fair percentage are still single due to other conditions surrounding them that can not be directly attributed to them.
I quoted u cos ur comment "it is well" shows ur emphathy and sympathy.
chai, my sister.... it is well jare It wasn't meant to sound degrading. I was trying to point out that having a down syndrome child is not peculiar to women above 30s. And even women in their 40s have children without the syndrome. |

Just made me remember a relative that has a child with down syndrome. It is worthy to note that the DS child is her first child which she had when she was 28yrs. The other two children came after she was 30...both normal. It is well. Ladies in their 30s and 40s get married and will continue to do so whether you likeit or not. |
