teamc: Got married 2yrs ago and we have a beautiful daughter, she has this dream of studying in Canada and I support her dream.
Our immigration consultant recommend she apply alone to increase chances that i and our daughter can join her later.
Now visa is out and she will be travelling next month. I have read numerous stories about how women change when they travel out.
Should I be worried? / Nigerian spinsters in Canada are finding it difficult to find husbands, so another man snatching her may not be possible. There is a high probability that she may become attached to another man especially if the man sneak into her life as a saviour. It may start off as mere predatory sexual relationship. Only weaklings are very emotional. Strong minds are logical. We don't know Obi or Soludo personally but there are certain metrics we can use to compare and contrast the outcome of the choices they have made in life:
1. Obi is being vilified for some investments he made and handed over to an alcoholic successor 8 years ago. For a change, one can take solace in knowing that the debate is not on how much he looted. What's Soludo's investment in the last 8 years.
2. Let's compare Obi's son and Soludo's son. It is a good indicator of who has his head screwed on right. You can tell a lot about a man from his family.

EgunMogaji2: It depends on the lifecycle and lifestyle of the returnee.
Personally I wouldn’t and didn’t come back to Nigeria to hustle. Yes I do some specific business but it’s at my pleasure and I’ve been blessed with even keeled customers.
So if you are a retired returnee like me then there’s a significant and natural buffer in place between that person and the typical naija stuff.
Don’t be dissuaded by my specific complaints because they’re really not that bad in the grand scheme of things. I hate to paint a bad picture of things. But there’s a desperation in the land that can’t be ignored.
It’s actually interesting that I don’t have an issue mostly with the government as much as I have with individuals. The government can be crazy. When I shipped my truck in December last year the clearing was supposed to be N1.8M. I paid N4.2M in June when it finally arrived because of overnight policy change by the government. Lots of abandoned vehicles at the port due to this.
Anyways, let those in the diaspora come back home but come to create employment not seek employment.
Also have your house completed, a good SUV in place, a well funded account and have fun. / Nigeria could be fun but one has to find way to insulate himself from the 90% madness. In my case, I travel to Nigeria about 3x every year. I don't go out unless it is very necessary. No interstate road travel (if it is not airport to airport, I ain't going). The nicer you are to folks especially artisans, the more likely they will treat you badly. To survive, your presence must instil fear. If you must kill a fly, use a hammer to ensure that it is dead. Kindness is often mistaken for weakness. Don't be deceived with the name of Jesus or God. Coming from the western world, you see the standard of living and suffering, then your human milk of kindness starts flowing--that's the trap. Your biggest problem in Nigeria will come from those that you have shown the most kindness to. I became a regular customer to the State C.I.D as the complainant. Nowadays I am living happily ever after once I realized that it is pointless saving people that don't want to be saved. Since Nigerians want scatter Nigeria, make all of us join hand scatter am. Adun27: Please some weeks ago, I found out that her colleague (a male) calls her often. I told her but immediately she flair up and went to work with anger, she told me that the boy was calling him for work meanwhile they will see for sure the second workday, when you left home angrily without even fighting her.
The boy sent me some texts on WhatsApp explaining that she wants to collect a phone from my wife blahblahblah, I never replied the text, the boy called me twice on the second day and I didn't pick, my wife told me that the boy saw her face look angry and that's why he asked what was wrong with her and she explained to him, she told me that was why he was texting me.
Yesterday, I found out that the same boy still calls my wife and my wife calls him too, when I raised the issue again she flair up telling me the boy was calling him to ask her welfare. What is confusing is that the first time they talk different things, why would a reasonable guy continues calling her after he knew it caused fight the first time, why would she continue too when she knows that it's threatening her marriage.

Parachoko: pure lies
No matter who you're, so far you're found guilty of pushing drugs in the USA, such a person will be sentence to jail. / It is a lie. War on drugs didn't get very robust until late 80s. Many countries would seize the cocaine, deport the suspect and/or stamp the passport. But then, one could travel with a relative's passport as long as there was a resemblance. Towards mid 90s, after the era of Pablo Escobar, many countries went gungho. There were prison terms or some were given the opportunity of being injected. Some that opt for the latter still died in their home countries as many didn't know what chemicals were injected in their system. As time progressed, some nations made it a capital punishment. That's the progress made on war against drugs. There is nothing unique in Tinubu's case. That would have been the punishment as long as he was not physically caught with the substance. Let's not turn history upside down because of blind support for a criminal. NB: Many Nigerians started hearing about cocaine only during IBB vs Gloria Okon vs Dele Giwa saga in 1986. It was like a folk tale only then. The timestamp of Tinubu's activities seems very accurate. / |

I’m planning on wedding her this Christmas and she can join me immediately (UK can be very lonely without a partner) on a dependent visa.
But sometimes I pause and ask myself, I hope I’m not rushing this whole thing? I hope she is not pretending to be nice? I hope she truly loves me? I hope she is not seeing me as a means to japa? A lot of questions going through my mind. This is marriage and I don’t wanna make mistakes.
