restless sinners. i watched on the BBc some years ago how the great communists were holding meetings upon meetings in communist russia to wipe off christianity from their land in 10yrs. guess who got wiped off - the communists. the church of Jesus Christ is always expanding and increasing. all that rises against it will always fall for it sake. that is the written judgement and it is still in force this day even against people like you. God would bring all people like you on your knees this year and it is going to be swift. whatever is making you this bold will give way so suddenly that you will remember there is a God that created the heavens and the earth. your arrogance is getting obscene. |

busybein:you must know i don't do arguments with religious folks. we are all permitted to live the way we like and pay whatever our actions brings us. i personally wont do an unbeliever. it is a no no for me. in my books if a lady is not smart enough to recognise the Lordship of Jesus she is too clever for me. i bebelieve am personally responsible for my choices and choose not to date an unbeliever. i believe one of the many reasons we have people broken and hurt almost beyond redemption from past relationships is going into wrong relationships that is almost gauranteed to fail from the world go. |

it is dificult enough for catolics to marry an evangelical or jehovah's witnesses. what do you think a christian has to gain from marrying an unbelieving moslem. every marraige comes with its inbuilt problems making it worse by marrying someone who don't believe in Christ is working against yourself. no one should deliberately walk into a union like that 12To the rest I say this (I, not the Lord): If any brother has a wife who is not a believer and she is willing to live with him, he must not divorce her. 13And if a woman has a husband who is not a believer and he is willing to live with her, she must not divorce him. 14For the unbelieving husband has been sanctified through his wife, and the unbelieving wife has been sanctified through her believing husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy.notice it says if the believer has a wife ( already married) not to look for a wife/ husband a very happy new year to you all |
lucabrasi:nice one everybody lets keep it up. i dont agree with his details being out as all he willl get is more begging letters with the most awful stories that he wont know where to start or who to help. happy new year to everyone. remember the NGO & charities thread going on here https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-178760.0.html please lets keep it up. my guys said they reached some of them this christmas with some good news. we should all do what we can to bless our under priviledged people |

Gowon, others float specialized telecom firm By TAIWO AMODU(amodu@sunnewsonline.com] Saturday, January 3, 2009 A telecommunication company that will provide satellite telecommunication both as satellite gateway operator and satellite service operator will soon commence operation in Nigeria. The company has already been licensed by the Nigeria Communications Commission (NCC) to offer Global Mobile Personal Communication [GMPCS] network service in Nigeria via satellite. The outfit known as Globaltouch intends to cover the entire nation, the West Africa region and beyond. During an interactive session with journalists in Kaduna, management of the company led by its chairman, General Yakubu Gowon (rtd) disclosed that when it commences operation next April, subscribers will be able to reach the remotest parts of Nigeria. Tell it to the winds “Please, tell the public that Globaltouch is coming to give service to the remotest part of this country. We don’t require cables and masts all over the place. We’ve low earth satellite that will come from our partners, Globalstar”, General Gowon told journalists. Managing Director of Globaltouch, Engineer Abdullahi Mohammed disclosed that the $10 million project is to be sited on 3.42 hectares of land located in the Kaduna industrial area while the company is in the process of recruiting and training Nigerian engineers. Target market With the antennae and other facilities in place, we shall cover Nigeria and other West African countries as part of the Coastal Atlantic and the Gulf of Guinea maritime region. Our target market is very low as we shall not be competing with GSM operators. Our envisaged target market, include the oil and gas industry operators, aviation and maritime operators, the Nigerian Armed Forces, para-military forces, corporate institutions and high networth individuals.’ In partnership with Globalstar Mr. Martyn Neilson of Globalstar, technical partner of Globaltouch said his company remains the world largest provider of mobile satellite voice and data services and operates in120 countries around the world.’ Founded in 1991 by a consortium of 13 companies, Globalstar as the leading satellite service provider in the world has emerged as the leader for high value, cost effective satellite voice and data service provider, overtaken by its only rival, Thuraya’. With its head office in San Jose, California, Globalstar provides business and recreational communications to organizations and individuals located in remote areas throughout the world via 24 gateways and 48 low earth orbit satellite across 120 countries as well as from territorial waters and several mid ocean regions. Competitive edge Nelson also listed the services to be provided, to include asset tracking technological device, personal tracking device and the Global Mobile Personal Communication Services, which has the capacity to provide both telephony and data services. On display at the interactive session with journalists as a tracking device was the ‘SPOT Satellite GPS messenger. According to Nielson, it enables users to send messages to friends, family, co-workers or emergency responders, based on various levels of need. According to the chairman of the company, General Gowon, with the tracking devices, government and the security agencies would check the excesses of the menace of kidnappers of expatriates oil works in the Niger Delta region. He also mentioned the competitive advantage of Globaltouch, over other telecom service provider to include its universal coverage far beyond GSM coverage. Apart from its ability to cover virtually everywhere, it has exceptional clarity of voice due to the nature of technology deployed to facilitate better voice quality cellular networks and greater system capacity.’ Anticipated problems Speaking on anticipated problems, the Managing Director of Globaltouch, Engineer Mohammed identified the unreliability of power supply. “In a country like Nigeria where power is unreliable, it becomes an issue. But where there is satellite, availability of power does not undermine our service; we have battery system built in to ensure power service, 24 hours.’ Mohammmed also identified the problem of interconnectivity with existing telecom operators. We will ensure good relationship with MTN and other operators. We also have ground station interface through NITEL to other carriers to take care of anticipated inter connectivity problem”. 70% Nigerian Both Tony Navarra and Martyn Neilson represents Globalstar as technical partners. The Nigerian private investors has a 70 per cent stake while the foreign partner, Globalstar has 30 per cent. Other members of the board of the company include, former Inspector General of Police, Alhaji M. D. Yusuf; former President, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria, (ICAN) Chief Ebenezer Oke as Vice Chairman and Mr. Manasseh Zorto, a seasoned corporate professional. Others include Chief Eka and Barrister Dan Habu. http://www.sunnewsonline.com/webpages/features/enterprise/2009/jan/03/enterprise-03-01-2009-001.htm |
