The new rules are harsh, but also fair in that they will not apply to care workers who are already on a visa.
But anyone who isn't yet on the visa has been made aware of the restrictions and they do not have to apply for care work if they do not want to live away from their families. So I don't think it's actively encouraging family separation

Note though that Labour did not oppose the govt plans yesterday and are actively in support of some such as scrapping the shortage occupation list.

I remember debating a few months ago that high immigration was a time bomb and wouldn't sustain, but the response was that the govt would not move to restrict immigrants and students, they need immigrants etc.
That may be true, but they need/want to be in power far more.

Besides the new policies aren't stopping immigrants from coming to the UK. The aim is to reduce the number of immigrants and their dependants but many immigrants such as
nurses, doctors, teachers etc are unaffected. Care workers who don't have dependants or are willing to live here without their family , are also unaffected.

Some policies, such as the high salary threshold for British dependants, might be reviewed later because of the impact on British citizens and their right to family life. But I highly doubt Labour will relax the rules to the same extent that Boris did, cos they know that will only cause a huge spike in immigration again, which they will get blamed for.

My brother, i dont have the keys to the house after she changed it.
Now almost everytime i come back i have to stay outside for 1 to 4 hours until someone from the house is leaving or going inside then i follow up to enter.

Its crazy, the room is also cold with no furniture anymore as she took everything out.

Like i said before people are doing care job to meet up with fees and bills, mesef dey run am but you should upskill yourself and get a befitting job that aligns with your career.

If you have any info on how to secure a good job kindly drop information/ pointers.

I can also argue that many Nigerian that migrated to the UK using the student visa route in the last 2years are not qualified for the UK student visa.

But then again people will attack me. But let's examine it without bias or prejudice.

The UK Student visa is point base. To qualify you need a total of 40points.
CAS = 30points
Proof of sufficient fund = 10points

Many Nigerians (majority in my uni and cohorts) used fraudulent means to obtain the last 10 points. So genuinely speaking they did not meet the criteria and if UKVI had discovered they would've been banned.

The influx of immigrants that the UK is complaining about is mainly from Indians (+subcontinent) and Nigerians and these are also the group that uses the most fraudulent means to secure visa ( Selling of COS and Fraudulent POF). This is the truth and we all know it. But if I talk am, everybody go tag me as enemy of progress.

I personally can not say this outside the community but as na we we dey here, make we tell ourselves the truth.

It take more time to process Canada visa, which is why I said those that rushed to the UK. The emphasis on rush.

I don't know why this argument always boils down to comparing UK immigration policies with other countries like Canada and Australia. Each country is unique and will do what they think it's best for their country. If you don't like it then move to Canada or Australia (But then again most people can't because they won't meet the criteria)

The truth remains that why the UK had good intentions but people and immigrants alike abused the system which then makes it unsustainable and they have to restrategise.

People selling COS
People having fake marriages to bring in dependents
Student coming to UK without any means of paying tuition
People rushing on Student visa without any intention of studying and abandoning their studies for carework

These are the issues that is causing the problems.

Please, I would like to know if it is advisable to buy car from Facebook market place. I considered prices of cars are relatively cheaper there than other platforms like car gurus, Gumtree etc. I'm always very skeptical when sellers direct me to email after making requests for the availability of cars of my choice.
