@creams does Rhodalyn sound like Ronaldo? ![]() |
@cammax7 Jeez! Guys whats all this. What does it matter if He's male or female. Thats what I call majoring in minors. Its absolutely irrelevantthats why the Bible tells us that No Man can search out Gods Understanding. The Knowledge He has given us is only how-far we would go, and once we get there, we'll begin to go round in circles. ![]() |
@2cantango Ha about "a little bit ugly" - does that sound more polite ![]() |
@TV01 Kimba, go to your room!I didnt know that the Moderator has created a ROOM for me ![]() |
@KAG I wouldn't ask for stone to be turned into bread when I'm hungry, I would ask that stone be turned into bread for the millions of children that are starving to death as we speak, if God did, that I, and many other non-believers, would be her number one fans. So why doesn't God work that way anymore? So your I-would-have-believed-in-Jesus-but-unfortunately-I-didnt is because of bread? hhmmm so right, you dont need God to turn stone into bread for you, but you wont mind that he turn stones into bread for others, right? and after that you could become a fan-of-Jesus. Unfortunately, JESUS DOESNT NEED FANS? QuoteRom 1:28 - And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; I've read, the Bible, read most of it several times, still think Pratchett is a better writer than all the authors in the contained in the Biblical cannon, and believe R. R. Martin pwns the Nicene council in the editing departmentThis is the best part of your post. God wouldn't have held you responsible if you had no opportunity to read, to hear the gospel of Christ, but now that you have read it and heard it all: 2Co 4:3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost: 2Co 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. 1Co 1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. 1Co 1:19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent. 1Co 1:20 Where is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 1Co 1:21 For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. 1Co 1:22 For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom: 1Co 1:23 But we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumblingblock, and unto the Greeks foolishness; 1Co 1:24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God, and the wisdom of God. 1Co 1:25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1Co 1:26 For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: 1Co 1:27 But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; 1Co 1:28 And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: 1Co 1:29 That no flesh should glory in his presence. 1Co 1:30 But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: 1Co 1:31 That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord. Ro 1:3 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; Ro 1:4 And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: Ro 1:16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Ro 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Ro 1:19 - Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. Ro 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Ro 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Ro 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools |
I cant believe that you guys(Reverend, Nferyn, KAG and the gang) are still arguing about this Evolution or Creation thing. Its like this, ok, so all of you evolved from Monkeys right? Kimba, you speak in parables (following a good example, are you? )Can you tell me how you know your mother was your mother, forget the fact that she told you, forget the fact that others might have told you, forget what your dad said(dont you think your dad and your mom made up the story?) tell me, what theory/practical experiment have you proved, since the day you were born to convince you that your mother IS your mother, or if you never knew her, what theory/practical experiment have you proved, since the day you were born to convince you that your father IS your father tell me, ok, and If you can give me a concrete answer, ill tell you why i know that the Bible is from God. I give you a clue: My Bible says: Ps 10:4 - The wicked, through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts. |
so this topic is still on? Its not easy, are Nigerians on the list of the top-world's drunkards list? |
@whitesox thanks, ill try that #. Im actually on a mission to play everything from game#1 to the end!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ![]() anyone for Counter-Strike? ![]() my coolest war game, |
With or without I.T, too much of brains and knowledge can become a problem. Its like this: in a class of students, there is always the most-intelligent-student and the least-intelligent-student. The least-intelligent-student, who doesnt have "it" naturally upstairs can excell through dedication and hardwork. He might later become one-of-the-intelligent-students. The most-intelligent-student who has "it" upstairs naturally, but who feels he knows it all might end up in the trash can. He soon finds he cant organize his thoughts and actions into something meaningful anymore, this is the problem of Nigeria. We have everything in abundance, and its becoming a problem to us now, - too much of geographical power, its people love to fight, we are even thinking of dividing the land - too much of natural resources, each one wants his own share of the national cake, - too much of ingenuity and brainpower, Nigeria is first on the list of ehtnic groups whose citizens, on an average have an extra university degree beside their first degree in Europe and America, yet, we have resolved to yahoo and 419. - no natural disasters like volcanoes, hurricanes to destroy our buildings and kill people, so nigerian people have become natural disasters. Thats why most of us, in a save-my-neck motive, like to travel abroad with that other passport and even return to Nigeria with that other passport other than the green. - too much of oil resource, we would rather destroy the pipes, let them waste, or rather set fire on them and let them burn. can i continue? i believe you get the pictureNigeria is like an over-fed child who is now vomitting, messing itself up and becoming a nuisance. |
@Ijebuman I completely agree with you. I agree that our leaders should begin a massive campaign into Youth Sports development. Nigeria is hatching babies everyday and all these peeps become youth tomorrow. If their attention is not captured on time, they could turn out to be something else. Sports schools/evening clubs that teach kids to play football, swim etcIf I had my way, I would start sports like: - Wrestling, patterned after the WWF, - Skateboarding, skateboard championships - National Soccer University, - Year round state, national championships for games like table-tennis, lawn-tennis, hockey, even American football - I also think we should promote basket ball more, - how about racing - teckno games like robotic-soccer championships, - I would also promote child-acting, using them to reach other children of their age, informing them of dangers of vices, drugs, advicing them to stay in school. , and many more ways just to capture the mind of youth, take them out of the labour market and get their brains thinking. Language schools teaching foreign languages like french and chinese (yes china is going to be the next superpower so we better equip ourselves)I read an article on CNN sometime ago where someone said, with the rate China is going, economy wise, , any country that is not doing business with China is practically out of business By the way, our President was in town to sign some 40Bn trade agreement with motherland nija, so we are into business.I think I can safely become the nairaland-China Minister of Trade and Commerce, how about that@mrtee The biggest obstacle to a scheme like this is the rampant fraud in the country. It'll be great to hear suggestions as to ways in which a scheme like this can be operated in NigeriaYes, I believe this should even be tackled first, coz as a handful few are trying to do genuine business, the majority are spoiling everyone's chances in business. If they dont spoil the national reputation before you get there, they will harass you. I witnessed yesterday, how some touts came to harass the cyber-cafe owner near my house. The guy, coming from work, stops over at his cafe to see how things are going, and all these vest-clad guys approach him demanding that he give them N10,000.00(ten-thousand naira) in broad daylight. They say they are the ones protecting his cafe from thieves, and that they need to do naming ceremony that night. When the guy wasnt forth coming, one of these touts now say that if he was not dropping 10k, if anything happens to his cafe, they(touts)should not be held responsible. Now imagine such a situation. They even told him to go think about it and that they'll come back. The cafe owner now calls the police after the touts left, reported the situation, and guess what the police said, the police constable told the owner of the cafe to "find-something-for-them(touts)". Later before the cafe closed, the guys came back and the cafe owner had to part with N6,000.00. In fact they first rejected it and twas after much begging(cafe owner begging the touts) that they now collected the money and left. Ok fine, imagine someone trying to survive by running a cafe, and has to part with N6k on a single day, not as a profitable investment, but to protect his business, even after calling the police. One of us who watched the whole ordeal later mentioned that it might be possible it was even the police controlling those boys. How much does he make from the cafe anyway, after NEPA wont provide electrical-power for like 3/4 of the day, and he has to run on fuel, has to pay staff, run two generators etc, and still doesnt have security. Now these rouges are not interested in employment themselves, they are just interested in feeding off other people. Thats Nigeria. @Hunter I wonder, has there any been a similar system to what we have here, where unemployed people do work for the government and get paid a some money until they can find their own job?we have the National Youth Service Corps, a 1-year post University graduation work scheme, but after that, its yoyo(you are-on-your-own). @Rainbow Nigeria can learn alot from our Caribbean leaders.Nigeria has indeed learnt a lot, enough to make it be a real super-power, but Greediness is the number one problem we have. Pls, just keep on praying for Nigeria!! ![]() |
Nigerians naturally have the tendency to wait until the worst begins to happen before they react. With all the PhDs in this country we cant control malaria. I remember when i JJCd into the country some yrs ago, mosquiitoes dealt with my upper-lip and I went down sick for about 3wks. After then i got sick again about 3-4times. Since then ive been mosquito resistant. I also remember there was one guy in my boarding school days we nicknamed Mosqui, they said he looked like a mosquito, ![]() |
forget cars, have we made bicycles? all the Zhiang, Zhiang motorcycles that are everywhere, are they not just assemblies of Taiwanese Parts. Do you mean Nigerians are not intelligent enough to do something local, which would be more cheaper? Its like this: as of now, what Nigeria knows how to do is to pour amala pouder inside diabetes-Capsules and sell them as diabetes drugs, and we end up killing ourselves. Thank God for NAFDACthats why there is no Nigerian made car. If Nigeria makes its own car, it will just catch fire. ![]() |
London is another Nigeria, anyone that goes to London and begins to gan-pa has not even started going abroad, to me ![]() |
@SIBIL_06 if "reliable" is what you are looking for, then stick with DHL. All the others around the country are chua-chua's. Some months ago, I ordered for some CDs online using a courier-company in Lagos here, believe it, the CDs(2) arrived 2months after the date of dispatch from the office of those I bought them from(in the US). THe reason: - the CDs first travelled from Sales company to the U.S.A address of the Nigerian courier company, spent 1 week there. - the CDs left the U.S to go join some other goods at the UK address of the courier company, spent like 3 wks there. The goods "were not up to total delivery amount" so they all have to wait until some other peeps from nowhere order stuff, for the company to bring all of them into Nigeria at the same time. I was so pissed, i had to pay online again for the same goods, ask the software company to give me download access(they were quite surprised that after 2wks the CDs havent gotten into my hands), and in I was already using the software for about 3wks before the first ones I ordered on CD arrived. So for your matter of toys, if you could get someone to pick them up for you, someone going, UK to Nigeria, what a shame!! ![]() |
Nigeria is Home, HongKong-Beijing is Home, I can have dates with other countries!!! ![]() |
@akay47 If you need admission into university in ghaha, just go to ABC transport, pay the fare about N6,500 and off to ghana, 8hrs you go in a luxurious bus. You need no passport, no visa to enter ghana. If you have an ECOWAS passport, better still, and you can go there like today and come back tomorrow. The schls are very nice, better than in Nijas student standard of living, things are very cheap, no strikes, no headches, you'll be given the same requirments and consideration like any other ghanaian student, its all ECOWAS, |
Ehen, one of my foreign friends asked me this question like a week ago, so let me ask NLs, After going around lagos, abuja and PH and looking at a whole lot of signboards here and there, he observed that names of many businesses, restaurants, schools etc, always have something to do with God, for ex: Oluwabamise Entreprises, God's bros ventures, Holy Child primary school, Eden Garden Restaurant, Mount Zion cybercafe etc, and until then it didnt occur to me too. So he asks: which of these two reasons could be our reason of wanting to put God into every thing we do, including the sheer names of our businesses etc. 1) Are Nigerians so religious to the point of making sure everything we do must have God in it, including the names of their businesses, and our actions are out of love for God, or 2) Is it a result of fear, that for ex: if we didnt make sure something somewhere sounds religious, we don't believe that God will have a hand in it to make it succeed? he noted that with all the God, God, God he had seen around, we are still #2 on the corrupt list. please help me answer him o. ![]() |
yup, shoot, which computer games do you play?. I love free-cell, because it gets me thinking, and ive been playing the cards consistently from game#1. I'm now on game#330. ![]() ok, you now, shoot. |

them ive fallen out, thats it fall in, fall out ![]() |
15 ![]() |
why is the opposite of falling in love, falling out of love? i thought if one "falls into", he then "climbs out of " or maybe im missing something ![]() |
Yes, it can and it does. I know a family where the husband is a muslim, the wife is a Christian, the live happily, no hating. The children were free to choose where they wanted to belong, and if you entered their house, you would never know that the two of them werent of the same faith, i mean with the level of love, acceptance and understanding. its all about love |
If I had my way, i would ban CNN from Africa. Their cameras only capture poverty, hunger and hard lives. They gave us AIDS, then later they'll give us financial AID ![]() |
@rhodalyn I wldnt!!!!!!!! i would never 4give her!!!!!, never!!!!!!what if you were the woman in question, would you want to be forgiven? |
i agree with the person who said both couples should have done their homework before marriage, regardless of love or no love, both of them should have gone to the hospital and done tests before saying "I Do". "I Do" cannot change to "I Dont" after one night when you discover your husband cant get it up. And besides there are medications for that, i once read of some steroids that could do the job, its only that it might take some quality time before the thingy goes limp again, i mean like hours after the actual action so that means, no quickes like early in the morning, , unless he'll not make it to the office that day. ![]() |
@JWdayise didnt you know when you said "I do". I believe that "I do" is only to one person at a time, ![]() |
@4real Word up, thats a 4real word ![]() |
I guess I'll ask again, "Sick and sadistic? Pray tell, who is getting hurt/ maimed in a (loving) relationship between two consenting adults?"who is getting hurt, those homosexuals are getting hurt, the younger generation who hardly know their left from right are getting hurt!!! |
@KAG maybe you didnt understand me, its not about a thinking pattern or whatever, what im saying is like this: you found something you consider true, genuine and you'll want to share it with your friends, so how would you put it to them, like this, i won a scholarship, this is what im enjoying by the scholarship, this is the way if you want to win the scholarship, or if someone were to ask you, i want to become an aethist, tell me what youve been/you are enjoying, which will further encourage me to take the important step you have taken, Atheism is not like many (all?) of the theistic religions, where you feel compelled to try to get everybody to think alikethe reason why majority of Christians will want others to come join Christ's party is that we have something we are enjoying, that is meaningful to us and we want to share it, plain and simple. now if i win a million dollars, i should have something to show for it, as proof that ive won a million dollars and that im happier than i was before. another thing: after death, what next? |
