Why will they not be poor? Do they appreciate good things. GEJ built almajiri schools, what has become of them today? |
plaindealer:This attitude of claiming to emulate what is done in saner climes is just hypocrisy. We all know what happens in Nigeria. I still insist we should have our own leadership model because of our peculiarities. Will going to Harvard stop him from receiving an unaudited security vote. Will he stop sharing money & contracts to political stakeholders. What of politically thuggery & the rest of it? We're just deceiving ourselves. |
aaronson:Nigerians have a problem. Must he go to Harvard to be trained as a leader? Don't we've our own leadership model? Is Lagos America? Secondly, we should learn how to groom leaders & prepare them for challenges ahead. In Nigeria what we do is not encouraging. We win elections first before going for leadership training. Quite disappointing, we shouldn't expect much from this guy. |
OgbanjeProphet:The world has developed past the era whereby the role of women is to operate just as housewives. With the state of the economy, who will feed her & her baby if she doesn't hustle. The issue here is possible negligence on the part of the day care manager. A standard day care facility should have CCTV cameras to monitor activities in the facility. Usually fever is not the first symptom after sexual molestation. Pains, vaginal bleeding are common symptoms. There is need for thourogh investigations to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. Finally, a physician doesn't need a police report before examining & treating victims of sexual assault. Insisting on that could result in delay in managing the patient & possible loss of useful evidences & samples necessary to establish the case. The police can be informed of the incident while the victim is in the hospital. The hospital is the first point of call. |
The appeal court has already given a ruling on this issue. The legal team of the complaint should be aware of the ruling. Unless they need some allowances. |
The AKS government should sit up. Politics is over, the Governor should gather his think-thank & forge a way forward. He has no excuse based on the revenue allocated to the state.

Sometimes we suffer because of ignorance. There're several causes of recurrent miscarriages depending on the gestational age in which it occurs. Some of them are treated with hormonal drugs, if the cervix is weak, a cervix cerclage may be the solution. If there were fibroids in the uterine cavity causing the miscarriage, removal of the fibroids could solve the problem. The educational level & socioeconomic status of a woman is also very important. Obviously this woman is the superstitious type. We've a long way to go in Africa. |
An inquiry should be set up to know the circumstances surrounding the death of this prisoner after the delivery of twins by caesarean. What offence did she commit that she was still in prison with a twin pregnancy. Was she pregnant while awaiting trial in the prison. What was the indication for the surgery & what cadre of officers perform the surgery. Where they obstetricians? What complications resulting from the surgery made the General Hospital to refer her to a Teaching Hospital? How was she managed in the Teaching Hospital? A maternal mortality is not good news. The high rate in Nigeria is a sign of the poor health indices in the country. Most maternal deaths are preventable if a woman has access to good maternity services. |
Cityfirstborn:Dr. Ngige has lost touch with his profession. According to WHO doctor patients ratio should be 1:600. The fact that some doctors are still looking for job does not mean that we have enough doctors. The problem is from the health care delivery system we operate. Most doctors are employed by government. The private health sector is poorly developed & cannot engage much doctors compared to what happens in developed countries. Even the government hospitals have shortage of doctors because vacancies are not filled due to several reasons: corruption, diversion of funds, sectionalism, sectarian crises etc. Nigerians need an apology from Dr. Ngige. |
Mrshocker:Your observation is not correct. Innoson Motors is currently the largest producer of vehicles in Nigeria. The Nigeria Army & other institutions patronise his vehicles. |
Vanije:The topic was simplified for a layman to understand. However, where're certain issues to point out: 1. Most cysts occur during the reproduction ages. Cysts that occur after menopause are usually malignant (cancers). 2. Most simple cysts < 10cm usually resolve within 6 weeks & need no surgical intervention. 3. Most cysts are follicular cysts and are usually asymptomatic. Usually accidental findings on ultrasound scan. 4. Large cysts can result in cyst accidents: torsion of the cyst; hemorrhage into the cyst or rupture of the cyst. Usually causes severe abdominal pains (acute abdomen) & will need emergency surgical intervention. |
I'm disappointed in this governor, it means he can't think outside the box. I thought the southerners calmed the northerners were parasites. So Ebonyi State is also a parasitic state depending solely on revenue allocation. Quite shameful. The governor is daft of ideas & shouldn't have presented himself for reelection. For God's sake, Ebonyi State is blessed with fertile land & other natural resources. How much of the state resources have been invested to develop those sections? He claims he cannot pay workers a minimum wage of N30,000 ($221) per month but is he not paying himself & other political office holders what other states are paying their politicians. Despite the harsh economic situation, is he not collecting security votes. The problem with our leaders is lack of leadership & managerial skills. Politicians fight for offices just for their benefits but most of them do not have what it takes to move their people forward. As far as I'm concern, with this kind of people at the helm of leadership at the national & state levels, the country is doomed. |
The Head of Clinical Services of FMC, Asaba should set up an inquiry & find out the circumstances surrounding the death of the woman to prevent a recurrence in future. Death due to respiratory failure to me is s blanket statement. Secondary cause of death is usually cardio respiratory failure. What caused the respiratory failure? Was it due to anaesthetic problem. What kind of anaesthetic: spinal or general anaesthesia? Was she intubated? What was the blood loss during the surgery? How many pints of blood was transfused? Did she have a pulmonary embolism? These are questions that need answers. I sympathize with the family of the deceased, she died probably from poverty & ignorance & the poor state of our tertiary health facilities. |
Why is she on a nasograstic tube post op.? May be she had intestinal obstruction as a post op. complication. If she had completed her family size, total abdominal hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) would have been preferable to avoid the complications associated with removal of several fibroids from the uterus. |
Kudos to the surgeons & the sponsor. Display of patients name in the media is unethical. Also observed that the assistant surgeon was not properly gowned. This could predispose the patient to post op. infection. |
Alariiwo:It shall never be well with you & all politically docile & timid Nigerians youths who have mortgaged their future to vision less elderly political leaders. Even the youths of Sudan are better than Nigeria youths. How long are we going to blame GEJ for the calamity caused by PMB. A country where States depend on allocation shared in Abuja every month without any developmental plan for the future & nobody is holding the leaders accountable. Apart from being the poorest country, insecurity is a major problem: armed robbery, kidnapping, community crises, insurgency etc. And the people are still moving about as if nothing happened. The Nigerian youths are a big disappointment. |
The best treatment for your mum is surgery (total abdominal hysterectomy). It involves the complete removal of the uterus. However, if she is not comfortable with that & still wants to keep her uterus then a myomectomy (removal of the fibroids) can be done. The major problem is recurrence of the fibroids after the surgery. Myomecyomy is usually avoided during menstruation to avoid spreading the endometrial tissues to other intra-abdominal structures resulting in endometriosis. Anti-inflammatory drugs like mefenemic acid tablets can reduce the menstrual flow & pains resulting from menorrhagia due to uterine fibroids. |
What of the Almajiri schools built by Goodluck Jonathan? The major issue is religion & excessive procreation without any proper development plan. |
Whatsoever he was worth before becoming a governor is irrelevant. What matters is whether he was able to deliver good governance & leadership to the people of Imo State. Wealth acquisition in Nigeria is not always directly proportional to the resourcesfullness & initiative of the owner but due to other mundane & primordial reasons. Let's leave Rocha's Okorocha for posterity to judge. If he did well, time shall tell. |
olujastro:Your analysis is devoid of reasonable logic. From what is going on, it's obvious elections were manipulated in favour of the APC in the Presidential elections. The presumed integrity of PMB is a fallacy. We need electoral reforms for the country to move forward. |
[quote author=olujastro post=76941558]It should be easy to understand voting patterns across the country but it seems intelligence is a rare commodity, especially on Nairaland. Firstly, no northerner alive can defeat Buhari in the north. That has always been a known fact (one not obvious to PDP because it's full of dumb people). Secondly, majority of Nigerians are politically informed so they vote for the candidates, and not the party (except the politically blind people who prefer to reelect a failed PDP governor because APC is a "satanic" party to them). In summary, the people of Sokoto, Kano, Bauchi, etc. chose Integrity over Kleptocracy in the presidential election; and voted differently according to the credibility and performance of their various state governors. Shikena Modified: Let me take the chance to tell you what the very predictably dumb PDP will do in 2023. They will pick another northern presidential candidate thinking northerners vote for fellow northerners, while APC will likely pick the most credible candidate it has from the South (West). Again Nigerians will vote for credibility and performance and APC will win. [/quoute Your analysis is devoid of reasonable logic. From what is going on, it's obvious elections were manipulated in favour of the APC in the Presidential elections. The presumed integrity of PMB is a fallacy. We need electoral reforms for the country to move forward. |
EsotericMonk:Your comment is in order. However, I have observed that due to shortage of manpower, doctors in several government hospitals examine ladies without a chaperone. To me this is a dangerous practice become of allegations like this. |
farem:Please list his achievements. He doesn't have the integrity & moral standing to continue as the governor of the state after being caught on camera taking bribes in dollars. Posterity will not forgive the people of Kano if they allow him to continue to govern them. |
Iamgrey5:Lagos is a cosmopolitan city that was developed mainly by the Federal Government, the LASG, investments by private enterprises both local & international. The traditional institution though plays a vital role in the maintenance of law & order but should not interfere in the administration of the State. The igbos have never interfered in the governance of the State neither have they desired to governed the State. Their only crime is exercising their franchise by voting for candidates of their choice during elections. Nobody has the right to impose unpopular candidates on Nigerians living in any part of the country. The recent act of intimidating, attacking & destroying votes of the igbos during elections is barbaric & a desperate attempt to maintain the status quo of a cabal who cannot survival without being incharge of the Government House in Alausa. This act should be condemned by all that want to see good governance in Lagos State. Finally, Lagos State has indigenes & non indigenes who live & work there. The constitution has defined who an indigene of a place is? Political thugs & their leaders should not be allowed to stall the peace & development in the State. |
Smithkafors:You're absolutely correct. Atiku won general elections but robbed of his mandate just like MKO. MKO is the martyr of democracy & Atiku should use this political impasse to push for electoral reforms. Other African countries including South Africa vote using electronic methods. Nigeria is ripe for electronic voting. |
successmatters:Very disappointing comment. Was the biafran war a revolutionary war to liberate the South or a fall out of the coup & counter-coup of 1966 and the disagreement between Gowon and Ojugwu. I don't think the Ibo's are the saviours of the southern minorities. The killing of an unarmed civilian on official assignment by a trigger happy soldier is unfortunate and should be condemned. The military authorities should do the needful. |
asfrank:So what's the criteria for the appointment of an IGP? Primordial sentiments & sectional interest. In Nigeria professionalism & patriotism is sacrificed on the alter of mediocrity. |
helinues:The sentiments of reelection shows how primitive & unpatriotic Nigerians are. The situation in Borno State is pathetic. Aliens have taken over our territories & the priority of the ruling class is a second term in office despite their poor performance. |
The picture of the crowd is that of a PDP rally. The colours: red ,white & green refers. |
God is not moved by donations nor construction of projects in the church. What God desires is obedience of his instructions & for us to worship him in spirit & in truth; and to love one another. The role of the men of God is to preach the message of salvation & not emphasis on donations as is currently witnessed in our churches. We have gone astray. May God help us. |
Receiving bride price on a death lady reveals the level of uncivility of that family. It's not compulsory that a man must marry a lady before they can stay together. They can operate as in-live lovers. I respect the man for opting to bury the deceased because of his children. This will relieve her family of a lot of expenses. They should be grateful for that. Requesting for a bride price reveals the greed associated with our culture. |
NwaAmaikpe:GEJ was a drunkard but how'll you describe your messiah? If you like you can pretend to be better now than you're 3 years ago. Hypocrite! |
