PoliticsRe: Probe Me Not My Aides - Obasanjo Challenged Jonathan by kinguwem: 3:38pm On Apr 29, 2013
OBJ is a clown. He has senile dementia. When he created EFCC & ICPC was he not duplicating the function of the Police?
GEJ take the bull by the horn.
PoliticsRe: Okorocha Leaves UK Hospital For Israel by kinguwem: 6:29pm On Apr 28, 2013
slim fit :
Blame the useless doctors we have that don't complain because they are not sure of themselves and their own abilities.
Where did he get first aid treatment after the accident? Who referred him for CAT abroad? Is his personal physician not a nigerian? How many neurosurgeons do we have & how many of them are fully utilized?
PoliticsRe: NCAA Bans Amaechi’s Aeroplane For Non-Clearance by kinguwem: 6:08pm On Apr 28, 2013
berem: Abeg someone who knows Amaechi by heart and loves him so much should please advise him to stop using his private Jet for now because what happened to Azzazi might happen to him. I can't believe Jonathan could be this daft and silly to engage in a battle with a Governor because of his selfish ambition to run for presidency in 2015.If anything happens to Amaechi, rivers people and Ikwerre in particular will never forgive Jonathan. Instead of intensifying efforts to win election by providing dividends of democracy to the people, Jonathan is busy chasing his so called enemies. Sorry for you Mr President! You are no better than a MILITARY DICTATOR!
Local Ikwerre man. In a free & fair election, can an Ikwerre man win the governorship race in Rivers State?
PoliticsRe: Is Nigeria Really Unsafe? by kinguwem: 7:26am On Apr 26, 2013
Afam4eva: "Absolutely", only on Nairaland. Try it and you may never reach your destination. You have the knack of always lying to yourself. Nigeria is unsafe like been painted.
Because of a job interview, in Sept., 2012 I had to travel from Jalingo to Jos in the night. I left Jalingo by 5:30pm, reached Numan by 9:00pm. I was in Gombe by 11:00pm. I boarded a taxi in Gombe & arrived in Jos by 4:00am. There was no problem on the way apart from some portions of bad roads. Security officials were very active in the night. I went to Jos & returned back safely.
Foreign AffairsRe: Canada Foils 'major Terrorist Attack' by kinguwem: 6:27pm On Apr 23, 2013
TechyGuy: Following the news and like that of Boston, the people once again collaborated with security operatives to thwart the plot. If only our security operatives get the kind of support from the communities where terrorists have thrived in Nigeria, the security challenges would have been subdued.
Some of our security officials cannot be trusted. They are unpatriotic & compromised. They can leak information to terrorists.
PoliticsRe: Military Chiefs Angry With Boko-Haram Amnesty by kinguwem: 8:11am On Apr 06, 2013
Onlytruth: I would listen to the military service chiefs if I were Jonathan. It is an indirect insult on them that the same murderous gang that killed many of their own is allowed to walked away, probably with payments sef.
The more Nigeria wobbles along, the more obvious the flawed foundation, and the more likely the future will be settled by extreme violence.

But come on, who gave the president this advice? I honestly think that whoever gave the president this advice must be the greatest enemy of Nigeria.
PoliticsRe: Buhari - No Difference Between Boko Haram And Niger Delta Militants by kinguwem: 2:22pm On Apr 02, 2013
Gen. Buhari once told us that they were 3 types of Boko Haram. Which group is he seeking amnesty for? The post-election crisis resulted in the escalation of the activities of Boko Haram. He failed to condemn them & he is now blaming the government. Terrorist activities persist in a community because the people believe in the ideology. The issue here is islamization of the country esp. the North. The General has lost my support. He believes in their ideology & he is afraid to say so.
PoliticsRe: Boko-Haram: Northern Traditional-Rulers Back Amnesty by kinguwem: 5:16pm On Mar 31, 2013
The elders are afraid of being attacked by Boko Haram. Their approach is wrong. Firstly, they should condemn the activities of their boys. Secondly & most importantly, they should name the sponsors & strategists of Boko Haram. Finally, the poverty & illiteracy in the North is caused by the greed of the elders, religious indoctrination & indolence.
FamilyRe: Nigeria Records 11,600 Maternal Deaths In 3 Months.......( WOW ) by kinguwem: 12:44pm On Mar 25, 2013
Talk is cheap. How can maternal mortality be reduced when the LASG cannot pay doctors CONMESS. How many specialists have been trained on emermency basic obstetric care? What has been done to educate pregnant women on the need to attend antenatal care?
The LASG is more interested in forming a megaparty (APC) & promoting the political interests of Tinubu & Fashola.
Most maternal deaths occur in the North-Eastern part of the country ravished by terrorists.
PoliticsRe: Did Chinua Achebe Actually Do Anything To Promote Development In Nigeria? by kinguwem: 11:57am On Mar 24, 2013
Dede1: You are one among many reasons Nigeria is a dead-end piece of junk. Achebe was and remained one of few major contributors to Africa’s progress. You are too ignorant to even begin to comprehend Achebe’s contribution to the progress of entire African continent. In USA, authors of text books that hold rare knowledge are valued more than an idiotic politician who claimed to have granted free education, built TV Station, roads, bridges or stadia by using public fund. An author used his\her natural endowment, time and money to publish books so that drooling airheads such you had the opportunity to spew crap.

If moronic dingbats such as you had followed a bit of Achebe’s preaching and forget the never-do-well structure on a sandy foundation such as Nigeria, the region would have experienced explosion of progress and mutual corporations among nation states rather than ethnical and sectarian massacres prevalent in Nigeria today.

I shall never want to have you as a compatriot.
You have deviated from the issue raised by the writer. Achebe was a great writer & poet. He was a great scholar. The problem with our great scholars is abandoning home for foreign lands when they face challenges. Who will develop our country when our great men run abroad for safety & greener pastures?
HealthRe: Baby Without Skull: Reps To Raise N10m For Surgery by kinguwem: 11:13am On Mar 23, 2013
tunesoft: If its wat I think it is ..I.e anencephaly...the prognosis of that child is poor even after surgery cos she has to battle with a lot issues...infections and many more. With God all things are possible sha....kudos to the reps sha...if u a doc,u know wats goin on in ma mind already....
We shall continue to be underdeveloped as long as we are not sincere. The longest a child with anencephaly survived was 3 years in the US after organ transplant was done. Paediatric organ donors are very scarce. The NGO is looking for an opportunity to use the child to make money. Most babies with anencephaly die in-utero. Those born alive usually die within minutes & few days after delivery. The best the NGO can do is to create awareness about the disease & to offer counselling about prevention of the condition. Genetic counselling is important. The importance of antenatal care, supplimentary folic acid ingestion during pregnancy & good control of blood sugar in diabetics before pregnancy is important. The N10 million promised by the Hon. Speaker shall go down the drain without achieving anything. What the parents need is counselling on the prognosis of the disease rather than false hope.
PoliticsRe: Kano Bombing May Have Caused Achebe's Death – Soyinka, Clark by kinguwem: 10:36am On Mar 23, 2013
Burger01: He died because it's time to 'die'.. There is a time for everything in life... A time to live and a time to die, a time to laugh and a time to cry, a time to fight and a time to make peace, a time to 'integrate' and a time to 'disintegrate'..... sad
Your philosophy is okay, but it is associated with lack of progress & development. The blacks are backward because of this attitude. We can only develop by analysing & learning from events.
PoliticsRe: Tinubu's Gaffe Or A Mindset? by kinguwem: 6:39am On Mar 22, 2013
This country lacks politicians with integrity & principles. Most of them see politics as business. There are in politics to make money. They have nothing to offer the masses. They don't have value for human lives. Tinubu, the APC etc. are a big disappointment. Its obvious, the aim of the terrorist attacks in the North is to reduce the number of christians/southerners in the North for political reasons. The northerner elites/politicians had failed woefully to develop their people. Who is to blame for the nuisance caused by their unproductivity? Obviously, the country has no credible opposition. For now, it's better to stick with the the devil (GEJ) we know than the angels we don't know.
FamilyRe: On What Grounds Will You Divorce Your Partner? by kinguwem: 9:13pm On Mar 20, 2013
Divorce should be avoided & discouraged as much as possible. Dialogue & forgiveness should be employed to settle issues. Divorce should be a last resort when all other options have failed.
PoliticsRe: Jonathan Plans To Raise Petrol Prices Again by kinguwem: 7:57pm On Mar 20, 2013
DivideUs: do what ever you want, just make the bombings stop!!!!!!
The major problem now is terrorism, kidnapping, insecurity of life & property esp. in the north. No social activist has demonstrated against religious intolerance, terrorist activities, kidnapping, illiteracy & poverty. Most of them will be on the streets when they are sponsored by the oil cabal to protest against removal of oil subsidy.
FamilyRe: Pastor Blessed With Triplets After 25yrs Of Childlessness! by kinguwem: 10:28pm On Mar 19, 2013
beblessed: I worship wit the couple in phc. The woman was pregnant and 'heavily' pregnant. No 419 was involved
Nobody is in doubt that the woman was pregnant. Obviously, she benefitted from artificial reproductive techniques & probably would have had a caesarean section. They can help other couples by directing them to such centres instead of claiming it was a miracle. Medical sciences has solutions to some reproductive problems. The problem is the awareness & high cost of the procedures.
PoliticsRe: Reaction To Alamieyeseigha’s Pardon Is ‘Sophisticated Ignorance’ - Abati by kinguwem: 5:54pm On Mar 17, 2013
Most commentators are ignorant about presidential pardons as stated by Abati. Most nigerians don't read widely. Presidential pardons even in the US have been extended to all categories of people including drug traffickers, murderers, bank embezzlers, coup plotters, corrupt public officers, thieves of government property etc. The President has the power to pardon anybody he deems fit for such privilege. In the US, the presidential pardon is absolute & cannot be overruled. In Nigeria, the Council of State must ratify the decision. To avoid ignorant comments, nairalanders should research topics carefully before making comments.
PoliticsRe: Alamisiegha's Pardon: US Expresses Regret by kinguwem: 6:05pm On Mar 16, 2013
Fhemmmy: What has this guy done to show that?
He is invovled in campaigns against militancy, oil bunkering & economy sabotage. As a result of his effort, Nigerian oil production has increased to 2.6 mbd.
PoliticsRe: Alamisiegha's Pardon: US Expresses Regret by kinguwem: 5:53pm On Mar 16, 2013
7lives: If Awolowo had been a man in the mold of Alams, southwest will not be where it is today, i am disappointed at the way some people reason, what Alarms stole was enough to build a modern Bayelsa. How much did Awolowo, Donald Duke and Fasholas of this country have, but they made up their minds to engrave their names on the sands of time, which is the heart of their people, hence they were condemned to perform.
The selfishness of the likes of Alarms in the Niger delta is what is probably responsible for the situation of things in that region while the selflessness of the likes of Awolowo was the reason why southwest can not be ignored in this country, it is by the same reason that responsible fathers are better than irresponsible ones, IT IS CALLED SELFLESSNESS, IT IS NOT ABOUT TODAY, IT IS A QUESTION OF FUTURE, WHY SHOULD A LEADER CONDEMN HIS PEOPLE TO BACKWARDNESS, 300 YEARS OF SLAVERY AND A 100 YEARS OF COLONIZATION IS A RESULT OF SELFISHNESS. AFRICA, NIGERIA, BLACK MAN IS LAGGING BEHIND TODAY BECAUSE OF THE SELFISHNESS OF OUR ANCESTORS, WHO HUNT THEIR WEAK BROTHERS DOWN,AND LINED THEM UP IN CHAINS IN EXCHANGE FOR MIRRORS, UMBRELLAS,HOT DRINKS AND MONKEY JACKETS.
I expect the people of Bayelsa to say no to this rape that's being perpetuated on them, unfortunately they are all paying mute.
Now the joke is on them, they should maintain their stupid silence and stop whining about the north, or west drinking their oil 'cause these regions are not their enemies, the enemies are household enemies, enough said.
The ijaws are not complaining. They are grateful for the presidential pardon of their Governor-General. The problem of corruption in Nigeria is systemic. There is no public officer that is not corrupt. Some are frugal in embezzling funds & some are heavy looters. The latter are more useful politically, thus the need for the pardon.
PoliticsRe: Alamisiegha's Pardon: US Expresses Regret by kinguwem: 5:33pm On Mar 16, 2013
Most people commenting on this issue are ignorant of what a presidential pardon is. Most comments are based on sentiments. Though nigerians are bothered about the fight against corruption, the following facts must be noted. In 2008 George Bush granted pardons to 14 persons including persons involved in drug trafficking, bank embezzlement, tax evasion & theft of government property.
It's only an ex-convict that needs a presidential pardon if he shows remorse & has shown signs of repentence. In the US, the President's power to pardon is absolute & cannot be overruled.
PoliticsRe: Diasporans Contribute More To Nigeria's GDP Than 34 Of Its 36 States by kinguwem: 4:48pm On Mar 16, 2013
Most Nigerian States are parasitic have nothing tangible to contribute to the federation account. In view of their contribution, nigerians in diaspora should vote during presidential elections.
EducationRe: UNICAL Sacks 4 Lecturers And Demotes 10 For Plagiarism And Fraud by kinguwem: 4:28pm On Mar 16, 2013
What do you expect from block heads who are lecturers because the labour market is saturated. Research requires a lot of funding & colaboration with sponsors & donor agencies. A lot of nigerian academics including professors are just white collar lecturers who have not done any reasonable research work. With this kind of people, nigeria cannot develop technologically.

PoliticsRe: What Abati Wrote About Alamiyeseigha In 2005 by kinguwem: 6:51pm On Mar 14, 2013

FoodRe: Is There Anything Wrong In Eating Dog Meat? by kinguwem: 6:00pm On Mar 14, 2013
Dog meat is a special diet. The diet tastes differently depending on where it is prepared. I've tasted the diet in Calabar, Uyo, Jos & Baissa (Taraba State). The best is the roasted dog meat prepared in Jos.

PoliticsRe: FG Pardons Diya, Yar'adua, Alamieyeseigha & Others by kinguwem: 7:49am On Mar 13, 2013
Wonders they say shall never end. Alams, the former Governor-General is no longer an ex-convict! What would have motivated the National Council of State to take such a decision? This action is condemnable & portrays the FG as a pro-corruption government.
PoliticsRe: Should FG Grant Boko-Haram Amnesty? by kinguwem: 3:46am On Mar 12, 2013
The group is using the guise of religion to fight a political war. Those calling for amnesty for the group are either beneficiaries of the war or are afraid of the group. Why were they not talking before? Why is the issue of amnesty considered when the group is being weakened by attacks by JTF & the war in Mali. The group consists of barbaric & unproductive youths. No progressive persons can associate with them. Granting them amnesty is against natural justice & is a crime against humanity.

PoliticsRe: No Amnesty For Boko-Haram - President Jonathan by kinguwem: 8:45pm On Mar 07, 2013
Demdem: Should it even be considered? Don't u think his killer friends that includes tompolo, boyloaf, Ateke etc that were involved in the killing of the innocent especially at atlas cove lagos who have been granted amnesty should be prosecuted also?
The loved ones of the killed are still waiting for justice.
The militants had economic importance & were bold & focused. BH has nothing to offer, they are cowardly & faceless.
