The issue at stake needs to be deliberated carefully. Nigerians are poor and are very vulnerable to prosperity preachings. The logic is simple. If they preach prosperity, then their members should be convinced of their prosperity. Thus the need to do something extra-ordinary. Ownership of a private jet is an exclusive prosperity status symbol. Frankly, the kind of christianity practised today by the new generation churches is contrary to the teachings of Jesus Christ. Our lord preached humility, service to humanity, sacrifice and delegation of duty. Church leaders want to do everything without delegating responsibilities to other ministers. A lot of them are rushing to establish branches in lucrative cities where there is already congestion of churches. If the issue is evangelism, how does ownership of a private jet spread the gospel when there are no airstrips in most parts of the country. Charity begins at home.Do they intend to use the planes to distribute tracks and bibles in villages? Jesus knew that he could not preach in all the places at the time. That was why he sent out disciples to cities he couldn't reach. With the advent of tele-preaching, a minister can preach to a world wide congregation at the same time. Pastor Kumuyi has been doing this for many years. The poverty level is alarming. The cost of servicing an aircraft is high. Most ministers in some of these churches with private jets are poorly paid. Jesus taught us to love one another and to avoid accummulation of material wealth. He did not own a house, he had no landed property nor livestock. Our religious leaders should shun materialism. The care of the poor, the sick, the aged and widows should be given more priority. Christians should cultivate the spirit of hard work and investment. Faith without work is death. Prosperity is not gotten by sowing seeds and special offerings. If that was the case, Jesus would have said so. There is no justification for religious leaders to own private jets. |

The cost of caesarean section is determined by a lot of factors. It is cheaper in government hospitals than in private hospitals. In FMC, Jalingo the Op. fee is N20,000. When the cost of post op. drugs, lab. tests, feeding & other logistics is included, the cost may go up to N40,000 - N50,000. The cost ranges from N50,000 - N500,000 in private hospitals depending on where the clinic is located, the calibre of patients that use the facility & the calibre of obstetricians that perform the operation. |
No specific number of caesarean sections is specified by obstetricians. However, most obstetricians will counsel for tubal ligation after four caesarean sections due to abdominal & pelvic adhesions. Other factors such as intra-abdominal & pelvic adhesions, ruptured uterus & the number of living children of a woman can determine the desire for tubal ligation. |
masotemi: [sub][/sub]The primary role of the church is to save souls & instill moral values in her members. If religious leaders do not get it right, then we should not expect much from their flock. Wealth acquisation is a cancer that is destroying the church. The nation cannot fight corruption when religious bodies don't rebuke corrupt persons and indulge in the same practice. The love of money is the root of all evil. |

The evil that men do lives after them. Everyday is for the thief, but one day he shall be caught. Vanity all upon vanity. Men never learn from history. We are all mortals who are destined to die. Why are we wicked to our fellow men. The sins of the father shall bring curses to the fourth generation of the wicked. Repent brother, for the kingdom of God is at hand. |
Nigerian administrators are wasteful & have no common sense. Kidney transplant is performed in UCH, Ibadan. Is it not economical & rational to liaise with UCH to train medical personnel in Delta State? Perhaps another channel to transfer funds abroad. |
Churches have been turned to financial institutions. Prosperity is the theme of sermons. Nigrerians have become unproductive because they believe so much in miracles & sowing of seeds. Faith without works is death. |
The autopsy findings is suggestive of intestinal obstruction. If the lady was in the hospital for 3 days before she died, was she reviewed by a surgeon. Perhaps, if she was flown to Germany she would still be alive. |
Mediocrity & favouritism are the major problems in the MDAs. The government organizations need restructuring. Most banks are not properly supervised and we are taking of promotion of officers. Years of service is not the only criteria for promotion. Productivity, honesty & requisite experience are basic requirements for promotion of officers. |
Killing of the aged & innocent children in the guise of fighting terrorism is a crime against humanity. What is the function of the secret police & military intelligence if terrorists cannot be identified, tracked, arrested or killed. Bombarding a village to kill criminals is a crude military operation that should be condemned. They should learn a lesson from the killing of Osama by the US Marines. |
Prof. has senile dementia. He is one of those causing confusion in the North. He had the opportunity but refused to educate his people. The North had always depended on the South for survival. Nigeria is undeveloped largely because of the backwardness of the North. Prof. is an agriculturist but I'm not aware of the agricultural programmes he has designed to empower his people. He is only interested in politics and political appointments despite the fact that he is aged. He is no longer relevant in Nigerian politics. |
Any man that invests in education is a wise man. Prophet T. B. Joshua should be commended. He deserves a national award. God bless. |
Sex education is the solution to unwanted pregnancies & sexually transmissible infections. Parents especially mothers should not shy away from their responsibilities. |

What is the quantity of gulder larger beer consumed in the North? Must everything be done by quota system. |
'Vanity all upon vanity', said the King. A thousands years is only a day to God. Anything we do today, we must remember that tomorrow never dies. Lets not enslave others nor deny the indigent education because we want to build a political empire. Let's love our neighbours as ourselves because one day we shall answer the call of nature. As you voyage to the land of no return, Adieu Papa. |
I'm not surprised at the attitude of the ministers. They are highly indisciplined and corrupt. Most of them are unproductive and are in Abuja to earn a living. |
The issue is not about inter-tribal marriages but religious tolerance. |
dequeen: tithe is a must 4 X-tain, if u are a X-tain & u dont pay ur tithe, it means u are nt following wat God commanded us 2 do. u are nt paying ur tithe because of Pastor or any body, because @ d end of dis world u will reap all what u hv sow. if u lk pay ur tithe and if u dont like dont pay it.Brother, is this a threat? This forum aims at enlightening christians about tithes. Please, support your statements with facts (bible passages). |
Kslib: This is unacceptable.. Boko haram knows their days are numbered and want to cover up many secrets Nigerians dont know in the guise of negotiation... I believe if boko haram is dug to the roots, the facts that will emerge will open our eyes...If your President is a fool, mine is not. Perhaps you & your people may be more foolish. The issue at stake is very simple. Boko Haram has demanded for dialogue. What should the FG do? The FG can create a forum for dialogue with the aim of knowing their source of funding & sponsors. On the other hand, the FG may decide to level them since the security agencies have captured a lot of their camps. Personally, I don't support negotiations with terrorists. |
How old are you? Have you had a similar experience before? Are you on any hormonal contraceptive? Have you done a pelvic scan recently? Duofem can be used to correct irregular menstruation after exclusion of pregnancy and pelvic pathologies e.g. ovarian cyst. It can also be used as an emergency contraceptive if used within 72 hours after an unprotected sexual exposure. |
The problem with working in Nigeria is the absence of job satisfaction. You may be frustrated out of the job if you are not crooked. Things are not always done frankly especially in MDAs. |
The mentality of nigerians is discouraging. If the patients were stable why were they flown to Germany? There is need to upgrade our hospitals. If the Yola Specialist Hospital & the Federal Medical Centre, Yola were not functional perhaps the trip to Germany may not have been possible. This is an eye opener to all our leaders. If you do good, you do it for yourself. |
Prevention is better than cure & a stitch in time saves nine. You did not state your socio-economic status. No amount of love will compensate for the sufferings associated with raising a child with sickle cell anaemia. Don't let emotions overwhelm your sense of reasoning. The earlier you look for a new partner, the better. |
Nuezha: FROM EXPERIENCE, a girl can only talk shamelessly like that when you've CLIMBED her. You're a disgrace if you ever did that.I'm disappointed in your comment. You have exhibited some level of immaturity. Life isn't the way you think. You need to grow up. Best wishes. Barka da Sallah! |
El-Rufai's statement is disappointing. Nigerian youths are not well exposed because their upbringing is poor. Until recently, electricity supply was erratic. There are no scholarship schemes for indigent students. Public schools are in a state of desrepair. A lot of youths are homeless courtesy of his demolition policy. What El-Rufai should do is to motivate the youths. He should sacrifice some of his personnal comfort to develop them. |
Bimfo: I wish ur Father Or any of ur Loved 1 was a Politician, and u wil knw the type Of Pain u get when seein this Type of Comment above from a Stupid Nigerian who Cant Be Great In Life.... #arrantRUBBISH!The politicians must change their ways. For people to be praying for them to die is a sign that the people are oppressed. |
Maternal mortality and perinatal mortality will continue to be high in Nigeria especially in the north eastern part due to certain prevailing factors. Illiteracy, poverty, religious & cultural beliefs are major reasons patients don't seek medical attention (primary delay). Secondary delay is usually caused by lack of basic infrastructures like health centres, roads, telephone & ambulance services, lack of means of transportation & the security situation in the country. Tertiary delay usually occur in the hospital due to lack of medical personnel & equipment, lack of blood transfusion services & attitude & expertise of health personnel. The poor funding of the health sector & mismanagement of funds by administrators has worsened the situation. All hands must be on deck if we desire to resolve the crisis. . |
While scientists worldwide are searching for the cure for HIV infection, nigerians who claim spiritual cure for the disease are sending ignorant patients to the grave. Honesty & sincerity of purpose is the only way this problem can be solved. |
