Let be honest to ourselves here, with respect to the dead, it is very clear that all the forces in Nigeria need adequate training.
These people died because of lack of wisdom.
These people that died would have got away with murder if not because the prey they thought was weak was actually stronger. A lot of time the police kill innocent people and frame them as thieves or terrorist, or claims accidental discharge.

There was clearly know intelligence here, they approached these people on assumptions.

These is what happens when we use cow boy methods of policing. In most countries their police is the strongest institution, not even the presidents or prime ministers, but in Nigeria the politicians are the strongest institution. In Nigeria the president is the one that will tell the police who to and not prosecute. The police don't even know their duties, they are more of a joke when you see them, hungry set of people even from the main or their top boss.
Most of them are clearly not educated that is sure we all know that, I would like to say it's time the police force and every other forces are well informed about their job description by us because it looks like these politicians dont want to tell them.

There was failure of intelligence & improper planning for the operation. The officers died for unjust reasons. The security agencies should review their operational policies.

Amaechi is a factional leader of NGF. 18 governors are with Jang. Let Amaechi produce the 19 governors that voted for him so that doubting thomases will be convinced. If he still insists on being the chairman, then that is the end of a united NGF.

Teenage pregnancy is commoner in sub-saharan Africa esp. Niger & Mali than in other parts of the world. In Europe it is a social problem unlike in Africa where it is encouraged by early marriage of teenage girls. Poverty, illiteracy,religious & cultural beliefs are factors discouraging the use of contraceptives & adoption of sex education in schools.
Teaching morals & abstinence will not solve the problem. The problem was reduced in Europe & America by encouraging the use of contraceptives including condoms & legalization of abortion.

Obviously, like most states, Adamawa State is dependent mainly on the federation account for sustenace. The governor should stop allocating security votes to himself. He is one of the most unpopular & less performing governors in the country. Terrorism was groomed in the state because he provided a condusive breeding ground for terrorists. He needs to sit up after the expiration of the SOE.

At last the long awaited decision has been taken. The situation would have gotten out of hand if the drastic decision was not taken.

The herdsmen are barbaric. Because of 550 stolen cattle they killed about 45 persons & destroyed property. Are they above the law? The solution to this problem is the restriction of movement of cattle. Ranges should be created in designated areas for animal husbandry. It is a shame that we are still operating a primitive method of animal farming in this modern age.

As a NYSC doctor in 2000 in Cottage Hospital, Baissa, Kurmi L.G.A. I performed several operations including emergency caesareans, herniorrhaphies, appendectomies etc. in the night using candles & touch lights. Then there were no mobile phones. A lot of deliveries were conducted in the night. The Local Government Chairman & the Director of PHC were not bothered about the situation. They were only interested in the revenue generated by the hospital. The best the Chairman did was to rent his personal generator to the hospital at a fee of N500 per day while the Council supplied fuel whenever it was available.

automaticcarzz: Violence was the norm for military officers back then. Yoruba, Igbos and Hausas officers engaged in a lot of blood-letting back then. You made it look like Buhari was the leader of the pack but I saw several officers on the list were superior to him in the military. What about if Buhari was only responding to orders from the superiors? An officer is not compelled to take barbaric orders from a wicked superior officer. He is an accomplice in the crime.
