Career › Re: Should Children Be Their Parents' Retirement Plan? by NoToPile: 2:24pm On Nov 15, 2023
It's like most didn't read the post only the title.

The poster said money was not the problem for the woman.

The problem is the children didn't make adequate preparation for old aged care for their mum while they are scattered all over the world. That's quite terrible if you ask me.

Old age can come with sickness of its own, old people need people around. If you are out of the country or out of town make provision for all these things, they need companions they need care. Even if you have the money, you can't cook for yourself take care of your self.

A child nearby can make all the difference, visiting them can make the difference.

Everyone will grow old someday and will need support from family.

Lool one poster said. 'It was not rape, he likely took advantage of a drunk lady' shocked

So what it taking advantage of a drunk lady?

Thank God it's not Naija once again. All the nonsense they do here and even the police will be supporting them.

Awon alafishe, rape apologists. Nonsense

Nope, not because of that. All through this year, I haven't sent money home at all, and I thought she will be reasonable a little. Because my savings are with her, she just kept complaining talking about what we need to get and all that, even saying shabi I will still send money to them for Christmas.

After questioning me and being reluctant to give me the money she got a call from her mom requesting money and she did not waste time in sending the money, only to say the money she sent to them is what she has been saving from the little jobs she does here and there
Okay the money is not from your own savings with her, which she was telling you not to dip your hand into to send to your parents, it's from her own hustle according to her - that's okay but you sound like you didn't believe her why is that?

So moving forward can you save your money by yourself and send your money to your parents by yourself next time?

Open accounts without app, atm card whatever and only dip your hand when you need to.

Check if you guys can request for royalties or something.

Lots of Nigerians are selfish shikena.
Business › Re: Naira Scarcity Worsens As Banks Limit Withdrawals, ATMs Run Dry by NoToPile: 10:29am On Nov 14, 2023
It's only on Nairaland I see this scarcity and I am in Lagos.

POS agents have money maybe it's the banks that have scarce cash.
Crime › Re: Court Jails Cashier Five Years For Defrauding Employer N64.4 Million by NoToPile: 7:55am On Nov 13, 2023
Lots of Nigerians are fraudsters.

You can't employ sales girl, anybody in peace.

64 million as at 2012 is a whole lot of money.

Good thing these businesses are now using technology to reduces theft.

The challenge is its of recent a lot of these transactions are done through bank transfer, POS etc.
Health › Re: Please Help! WHO Vaccine People Are Threatening My Family by NoToPile: 10:28pm On Nov 12, 2023
The only challenge is the forceful way you say they are going about it.
If they are harrasing you up and down then something might be wrong.

Normally apart from the routine immunizations on the card sometimes there's a general imunization (most always polio vaccine though one time in 2018 it was measles vaccine ) they brought to the streets, churches, schools etc.

Here in Lagos they wear aprons, carry coolers, walk in teams of 2-3 ladies mostly, administer what they want to with your consent mark the child's hand with marker and zoom off. Immediately we see them, we know.

This one you are saying they are harassing you chasing you from pillar to post, are you sure they are approved from the health center or hospital because it's sounds strange, chasing your wife to place of work?

Are you sure you didn't sign up to participate in a study or something because it sounds so unlike the immunization people I know that move around or is osogbo style different from Lagos? Or are you exaggerating the matter?

It sounds strange, if you don't feel comfortable go to the health center. Not these days kidnappers are abound abeg, Hefty men On top what?

The students collude with some of the staff to get the bed spaces. On the day of the ballot, the portal usually goes down, or when it doesn't most students hardly get allocated. A lot apparently goes on in the 'background' the students to get the official rooms settle some people to get it, then they sell it. It's all a racket. Very rotten system.
Hahaha that's terrible.

Very solid position, I respect her, the man provides she does homemaking. Quite okay.

But On this Nairaland that men are whining about being providers?
They will whine and cry about this matter.

So it can't sell here.
Education › Re: Unilag Students Share The Present State Of Their #350k Hostel(pics, vid) by NoToPile: 8:39pm On Nov 09, 2023
Everybody is corrupt, selling bed spaces.

And it's not the fault of Unilag the place is dirty, it's the students.

How they come out looking fine from such places is beyond me.

But that Unilag balloting ehn na survival of the fastest network

My Friend got one in the PG hall while we were on our programme years back, Infact it was our mutual friend in abudhabi that helped her, we commissioned him to do the balloting because of internet and she got it.

The woman is not a robot, if she does the providing, all the homefront is on her definitely one part will be lacking and its the sex part. It's that simple, she's not wired for sex after all the wahala

A man can go all out to work for money carry pounpoun when he's supposed to be tired he wants sex, that's how they are wired.

It really is that simple.

Both sexes are different and unique
Family › Re: Friends Defend Nigerian Lady Who ‘divorced’ Her Husband At Airport In London by NoToPile:
Me I have given up on lots of male posters on NL teytey. A man can never be wrong in their eyes even with glaring evidence of guilt.

Why hasn't the man or any one come out to refute the wife's response? Has anyone seen any rebuttal here or Twitter or any other place? No. Radio silence on countering the wife's response. He was the accuser now.

Abi e no get relatives using social media?

The guy brutal sha and he met a solid reaction that justifies his wickedness. Holding the kids to ransome? Thank God it's not Naija.

Besides people should read the full story joor, he didn't sell properties to sponsor her she did herself and there has not been a rebuttal about that claim.

Treat your wives well, they won't hear.

Ita a case of revenge as we have read the woman's story.

Most women don't forgive the atrocities especially domestic violence, they only bid their time most times.

It really has nothing to do with UK or not.

My question is what if she had died those times, it was too much of a risk.

That 2005-2008 period lots of people made money especially those working in stockbroking firms.

They made mad money, my cousins were in a stockbroking firm. I heared them discussing about japaul oil one day, they bought at maybe 3 0r 4 naira it went as high as 15 naira, they sold and they bought quite a huge amount. They were just making money.

The stockbroking guys were big boys that period. I personally think lots of them took advantage of the market, I may be wrong though. What was reigning was shares.

By 2009 everything just came down.

As at now even the fairly okay company shares we bought back then the prices have come down terribly.

Even some siblings don't share such building information. They will tell you when it is completed, there are some things people generally like to keep to themselves/ their nuclear family here in naija

Pregnancy
House building
Japa plans etcetc.

Except you think he ripped you off somewhere it's not an issue.

He even told you about it after building right.

Me that the lady that practically acted as my chief brides maid got married without informing me nko, she later told me not to vex that it was very private she even had a baby I didn't hear, it was on her status I saw one year abi is it 6 months birthday it was when we were talking on phone another day and her child was disturbing her that I got to know she had a 2nd baby sef. It's even on her status I saw her husband's pix sef.

I didn't even get angry, maybe she had her reason I didn't know the circumstances of her wedding, though it seemed very small and her nuclear family stuff only. I understood because I am also a private person.

This life no hard oo, people have different reasons for what they do. Every mallam with him own kettle.

Lool, it's typical in Nigerian workspace, you mind your business say good morning and hello when necessary, they say you don't relate with people and you are proud.

If you are not on my team or in my unit, I honestly don't have much to discuss with you except hello and hi EOD.

I relate better with those in my unit, every other person, good morning good morning, except an official issue comes up that affects them.

Thats how they told my collegue that I don't relate with people I just dey go my own, is that supposed to be an issue? I just see you as someone that works in the same organization and I say hi is that not enough, I should be gisting and doing Chochocho up and down?
We get issue for this country honestly.

As a rule good morning and hello it is for everyone not in my immediate team. They don't like it they should go to court.

Nipost has been quite efficient since they were revamped some years back, their speed post has helped deliver some docs then.

My only problem is always the same thing corruption, once int passport is being delivered by them trust Nigerian workers to form another cartel of racketeering.

If they can plug all the holes it will work if not.....
