If by now we are still wondering if Buhari is ethnocentric, then we clearly do not understand the dynamics of Nigerian politics. He already hinted that he would be reckless in the 2nd term and we can see this playing out. I just hope this man will not cause an eventual break up of Nigeria. He has no regard for federal character whatsoever!

From time immemorial, Nigerian First Ladies have been known to be powerful. Even the evil one - Abacha feared and respected his wife! So if the daughter of a Presidential aide would disrespect the first lady in such a manner, it speaks volumes of the influence the 'cabal' wields. When I read some comments, I cant help but castigate Lord Lugard for the 1914 amalgamation!

In my humble opinion, 2 houses of legislature is a superfluous expense for Nigeria at this time. Maybe 1 house with 1 person representing each state of the federation with reasonably priced remunerations. The rest of the world is moving towards reduction / total elimination of the use of fossil fuel. Electric cars are taking over in the western world and countries are now setting dates for elimination of the use of fossil fuel powered cars. What will happen to our crude oil by then? Imagine, a situation where we are only able to sell 250,000 bopd at $30 / bbl (because drop in demand will attract drop in price ; market forces of demand and supply), what will happen to Nigeria? How are we going to be able to fund our budget? Let us learn from what happened to Kodak. We must start cutting unnecessary cost NOW! Doing a SWOT analysis of the inherent risk, are there opportunities for Nigeria? Are we able to export materials that can be used for the manufacture of components of electric cars or the charging points? Are we conducting research on what we can do with our crude oil? Are we investing in alternative sources of foreign exchange earning? It is well with Nigeria!

Tinubu is the most intelligent politician in Nigeria today. He knows when to fight and when to retreat. He will definitely try to feel the pulses of the stakeholders and if they are not positively gravitating towards his ambition, which i expect will happen, he will retreat and fully support his protege, Prof Osinbajo. By then Osinbajo would have added 7 years as VP to his resume. He still remains one of the few leaders with some integrity and he will definitely have the trust and backing of Nigerians. Jagaban has a lot of questions to answer concerning his sudden wealth after governing Lagos for 8 years. Recall he said himself that he returned from the US to contest with next to nothing. The Toronto issue is still there, even his real age! So it is best for him to stay away from contesting. Just consolidate on his influence as Africa's most powerful politician alive, like him or hate him. My opinion though ..

Are you sure about this? Shell is not going anywhere. They ve been divesting their onshore assets due to community disturbances over the past 10 years. They are instead investing more in deep offshore.
