Good morning all, please whats the current government exchange rate for Canadian dollar to Naira?. I want to be sure i am using the correct rate to calculate tuition fees. Its OANDA currency converter a good platform to use because i am seeing 335naira to dollar and somewhere else i see 275. Just to be sure on the correct rate.

Will presenting the bank statement hurt my application. I also plan to present payslips for the last 6 months, my tax clearance certificate and print out of my pension statement. Your thoughts please?

2, Can i use my parents land documents agreement and Governors consent on the agreement ( like C of O) to support submission of my mum bank statement for proof of funds.

3, While filling the form IMM1294 ( Application for Study Permit Made Outside of Canada) The instructions says " to give details of our employment for the past 10 years" There was only section to fill three employments Is there any need to fill another IMM1294 as additional documents to fill the remaining two places i worked and if yes, how do i go about it considering my only + addition is the employment part?

4. I have to open up to you guys, i am looking for scholarship opportunity, at least something that can support as a rebate on my tuition expense in canada so i dont put much pressure on my parents I mailed my school and they replied saying " Unfortunately, there are currently no schorlarships available"

Please has anyone had a similar experience. Must i payment tuition and accommodation fee before submitting my application. Because did not require payment of tuition from me for now before issuing unconditional acceptance letter. I plan to pay this in January 2021 when i resume.

I got an acceptance letter to UNB this morning but please i have some questions:

I have studied the estimated fees - $35,378.00 for the first year and $31,677.50 for the second year with total of $67,055.50 ( tutition, living, books and feeding expense inclusive) for the whole programme. While for tuition alone is $20,278.00 for the first year and $16,577.50 for the 2nd year resulting to $36,855.50 for the whole programme. Where i need clarification is minimum of how much should reflect in my sponsors account balance as a proof of funds to apply for Visa. i noticed the letter is a conditional offer - can one use a conditional offer for Visa application? Also for those very familiar with UNB please help.

Also, please can someone assist with a detailed list and first step in applying for study permit and how to go about it also docs to get ready. I am a novice in this area and willing to learn.

Pee2Jay9: What of in a situation where you dont want your employer to know your plans and getting a letter from them would trigger you want to resign most esp if you dont get the visa and stand the risk of being seen as flight risk in your office so to avoid this the person want to arrange with another company to get a signed letter stating you have been employed in that org and they are sending you for study leave for so and so period and you are expected back to the country on so and so date after your studies, what do you think?

Because, most employers would see you as potential person that would resign soon if ask them for such letter? What do you think?

Dear All, Good morning and trust you had a restful night. I have applied to the University of New Brunswick for MBA and and indicated Jan 2021 semester so awaiting their decision. But i would like to ask for those that got an admit for Masters or MBA in UNB. How long was the waiting time before you got admission decision because i am seeing something on their FAQ " that processing time can take up to 6 months" reading that was scary because i don't even have up to two months if i have to apply for VISA against Jan 2021.

Good morning All, please i would like to ask if the Canadian Embassy do screen for Tuberculosis for medicals and if yes, what type of tuberculosis. I got admit into a school in USA and was asked to do tuberculosis. I did the normal TB test and was tested Negative. ZionSpecie - I think the best way forward is to fill another DS-160 with the true information and on the interview date you can sincerely make reference to the earlier interview, that you used an agent and feel he had filled some information wrongly at that time and this time you had to fill it on your own with the true and accurate information. I might be wrong but looks like the way forward is to open up to them and show that utmost sincerity and hope for the best outcome.

Good morning Coldburn - i can relate with you and i have once been in your situation before so i can relate. I also graduated with a 3rd class degree from a public school precisely OOU. Infact, i had the same situation of over 2,000 people in my set, beyond the capacity the school could manage at that time. So what i did then was to start by working with a very small company that pays so little as 25,000 per month and used that as a pedestal to get jobs in bigger companies. Along the line, i went back to apply for another first degree in a private school while working and got a 2:1. The rest is history now.

So this is just to tell you that having a 3rd class degree does not define you in anyway nor determines who you will become. You are 22yrs so you have some time to achieve that which you need to achieve. i dont really know much about the field of Microbiology so in the meantime pending when the gurus in the house responds, try to search for US schools and see their minimum requirement, there are many that wont disqualify you based on your university degree but evaluate you based on other criteria like test scores so if you would need to write the GMAT,make sure you study very hard to have a competitive score enough for the admission officers to overlook your university degree.

Lastly, you can still go for your medicine or nursing, please dont limit yourself by settling for less, just search for schools, see their minimum criteria and work towards it even if it means starting with a postgraduate in the USA (you might also want to check Canadian schools but wont talk much on that since this is a US thread) and with focus and determination, your 3rd class degree will be history, you are the Einstein the world is waiting for.

The reason i am considering a deferment of admission is the current environment which might not be conducive for studying due to the stress of working from home. Most times i work late into the night and not to talk of lots of demands from work. So i would not want to register for the fall online and start with average grades nor just few As in my result because of little time to study. But i would think through your advice deeply and discuss with my academic advisor then make a final decision. Thanks again.

Hello house - Please which is a better option in these two deciding factors especially with this COVID 19 saga. For admitted Graduate students for the Fall 2020 (1) Resume online class for the Fall 2020 and obtain the i-20 documents so when embassy opens later in the year or whenever they open, to proceed for the interview as student that resumed for the fall with the intention of travelling to the US to continue the studies or (2) Defer the admission till the Spring 2021 and obtain a fresh I-20 for the Visa interview . Which do you think would be more convincing to the visa officials becuase i suspect questions like VO: Did you defer your admission and why?

Nayo10: Congratualtions on your admission to University of Houston, very valid question. I think you should speak to your department or a graduate advisor you have been liaising with. They are in a better position to advise you on what you can do regarding payment due to your concerns on Visa. You just prepare very well for your Visa interview and be optimistic. The fact that you have started classes gives you a + plus that you are a genuine student. All the best.

Good afternoon Bigtimemugu - These are my few cents if you have not yet made a decision yet. It appears your present job takes a lot of your time but you would need to be very honest with yourself about your dissatisfaction on a particular job. You stated you have been promoted from one position to another which is a very good one which will look good on your C.V and will show you are a very competent staff to be saddled with higher responsibilities. Please don't always base the decision on money. The money will come eventually. Focus on your career growth and development. A prospective employer will respect you when they see you have been having a steady rise in your current employment which is a good pedestal to negotiate your desired salary. Don't be in a hurry to change job at just any opportunity that comes your way especially if you have not convinced yourself to take the offer but target an employer that will help your career growth trajectory. Exercise a little patience. It will pay-off.

Dears, I would like to ask (1) Please does anyone have an idea when the US Embassy in Lagos would likely open for those of use intending to resume for the fall 2020 semester (2) Also, in preparing for the F1 Visa interview, i do not want my company to be in the know of what i am planning so, i intend to get a letter from my dad's friend company (indicating they are sending me on study leave) to present at the interview i.e i tell the visa officer i am currently working in my dad's friend company and present a letter to that effect.
