Romance › Re: My Boyfriend Of Two Years Suddenly Says He's Not Ready by Outstrip(f): 7:10pm On Sep 21, 2008
Ujujoan I have been in the same situation. Two and a half years and he said he was was scared of marriage. He said that we had something wonderful and we should remain together forever unmarried. I was in love with him but saw it as a betrayal because we always talked marriage and then all of a sudden he wants to just shack up. Keep in mind that his mother had a very bitter marriage with her husband and he wa exposed to all of that so that made him scared to marry. He felt that marriage complicates issues and we were perfect the way we were. I left him and even when he came back begging I could not let him back in. Why would I marry someone that would question his decision with every fight or one day say that I pressured him to marry me. 2 years is enough time to find out if you want to be with someone. He has flat out rejected you. Let him go. It will be tough. It will hurt like hell but just let him go.

Even in your house Pennywise. If you raise a vicious dog and invite people over and the dog mauls a child, you could end up in jail. Your friend needs to pay someone to train his dogs to be guard dogs.

Family › Re: Domesticating Nigerian Men by Outstrip(f): 4:14am On Sep 21, 2008
There is no domestic thing I do that my husband does not do. I would not have married him otherwise. I know that alot of Nigerian men are like that and they feel that it is their birth right to be useless in the home. I can't imagine such a life. I am not saying that my husband does housework as much as I do because honestly he can think he has cleaned up the kitchen but then I have to go over it again but he tries. I don't need him to wear an apron anf become Martha Stewart but he needs to be useful around the house. My father is no stranger to the kitchen so I can't imagine marrying the kind of man that cannot tell a tomato from an apple. I pray for my mother in law everyday. It is all because of her.I still believe though that if you give anybody (man or woman) the opportunity they would just as soon not do most of these things. So before you jump into a relationship with someone and this is a big deal for you you better deal with that before you say your I do's
Family › Re: Multi-wife Family by Outstrip(f): 12:01am On Sep 19, 2008
There is not one good thing about it.
My husbands mother supported her husband taking a third wife after the second wife left cause she did not want people to blame her for the other woman leaving (Don't ask me how that makes sense)

My Mother's older sister found a third wife for her father because the 2nd wife was getting too cocky but the third wife turned out to be a doormat so it really did not help their situation

The whole polygamy thing is a joke and usually ends up with a lot of dysfunctional issues. Not that monogamy is always rosy but why add extra wahala to it

Culture › Re: Tribal marks and female circumcision at "gun point" by Outstrip(f): 4:31am On Sep 14, 2008
If something is wrong then it is just wrong. God has given us all the ability to be compassionate. Using passed down culture as an excuse does not hold. It is just like saying that people that killed black people in the past should not be jailed today becasue back then blacks were technically not considered 100% human in america. It is just the wickedness of a husband and his family in an effort to instill fear in this young girl that drove them to do this to her. I hope some lawyer will hear her story and take up this case or someone that has money will pay someone to have each and everyone of them tried for murder and aggravated assualt. They will sit in jail and weigh if what they did was right or wrong. What a tragic story.

Sisikill I m rolling on the floor on that story. She said "out of love?" . Whoa. I guess I have not been to enough Nigerian parties to notice. I will look out for it next time and have a good laugh. I can't imagine throwing a party and someone gets out a doggy bag when no one has even started eating. The person will be very politely told to respect themselves.

Since Nigerians are allowed to marry more than one wife then why will he go to jail. He did not marry the second wife in Finland abi. The story does not make sense. He certainly did not break the law in the US and he did not break it in Nigera or Finland. He has a second wife but that is not against the law in Nigeria and he did not bring a second wife to the US. Somebody correst me if I am wrong
Romance › Re: Neighbors Mother-in-law by Outstrip(f): 3:23pm On Sep 13, 2008
Amebo. Honestly this is just crazy. You want to go to someone else's house to start trouble. You are going there to start something that she will have to deal with for the rest of her life. It is none of your business if the woman sees you as disrespectful afterall what is she to you. You really are just being a pest in that marriage. Who are you to decide if she respects the man or takes him for granted. With friends like you who needs enemies? Unbelievable.

Family › Re: Nigerian Women SPOIL men with their over tolerance by Outstrip(f): 2:55am On Sep 13, 2008
I don't see what the bullshit is in this. It is the truth. Actually this article is quite rosy. Nigerian women (I will say maybe 75%) think this way. They do not expect much from these men, then they get bitter and are unbearable to live with becasue they thought they were doing the man a favour by letting him be totally useless. As a matter of fact most of times those men are raised that way and the wives continue the tradition.
When you see a nigerian man with a strong mother that did not take any mess, he cleans, he cooks, he adores his mother and sisters then you are lucky, hold on to him. Let it be heard. You do not do these men a favor by treating them like retards. You can all start insulting me now.

Travel › Re: Nigerians Living Illegally In China Are Now Going Through Hell! by Outstrip(f): 12:27am On Sep 10, 2008
The fly the sad part is that most of these people will rather live like that in some foreign country(did somebody say cambodia, damn) than live like that in Nigeria. Honestly I think we all need to rethink this our stance. we have foreigners all over nigeria making it big but we are in other peoples land improving it and some of us are actually living like pigs just so what? You can say you went to obodo oyibo. It is sickening.
Romance › Re: Hero Husband/Boyfriend Or Big Wuss? by Outstrip(f): 12:00am On Sep 10, 2008
Sistawoman you are so off point it is alarming. It does not matter that she ran her mouth. I would not want my husband to get shot either but saying she deserved to be raped because she told a police officer to Bleep himself is irresponsible and senseless.
Travel › Re: Nigerians Living Illegally In China Are Now Going Through Hell! by Outstrip(f): 11:49pm On Sep 09, 2008
Have some pride. Nigeria cannot be that hard that people are subjecting themselves to this kind of treatment. Why live in a place like that?
Health › Re: Can Married Woman Take Pills After Birth? by Outstrip(f): 2:13pm On Sep 09, 2008
Name one risk apart from possible injury that is a very slim chance by the way. My mother used it, my best friend's mother used it and it is being used more now in the US. It is better because when you decide to start having kids again you simply take it off and you can start having kids right away. Don't tell women to stay away from something that has more benefits than the other poisons you have to swallow everyday and force your body to do what it was not designed to do.

Crime › Re: 2 Kids Die Inside Parked Car, As Parents Party by Outstrip(f): 12:44am On Sep 07, 2008
The parents of the children were negligent. The woman that parked her car in her garage has every right to leave her doors unlocked. The sad part is that that poor ten year old will probably be blamed for it. Both set of parents should be in custody.
Romance › Re: What Would You Make Of This? by Outstrip(f): 12:35am On Sep 07, 2008
A guy once said that to me. He said he would give me the world or die trying. It was so corny. We had not even known each other for 2 weeks though I went to high school with his twin sister. I actually laughed it off but he did not give up. He got married though and whenever we would run into each other I would tease him about it and he would be so embarassed. Funny as hell.
