as you said it, the finacial contribution can be 50/50, but domestic is never 50/50 in most cases.

@poster, if your friend truly loves and wants to marry this girl, he should stick to the plan. The girl is still schooling. When she graduates, she will get a job and assist. That is not to say he should spend all his earnings on her family. He should assist the girl's family, where possible. Where he is not able to, I believe the girl and her family will understand, especially since he is doing all he can to assist them. He should not do anything that will make him regret in future. Above all, let him give the matter to God in prayers, he will be directed on what to do.

Give what to God in prayer? God does not like foolishness. You have to do your part. She and her family seem to have an problem with money. It is worth pulling out of the plan but I think they should have an honest discussion first

He needs to have a talk with her. they have to be in agreement first before the wedding. That whole crap of asking for money the very first day he met them is so crazy. He needs to let her know that their money id their money and not for the extended family. They need to both agree before she starts sending money to anyone and that includes her mother

I know things are never going to be perfect and I am one that is big on adapting. Adapt so you can flourish. You cannot hold on to old things if you want new results. I uderstand totally were you are coming from. I just happened to remember discussing that with my husband. I do know a few German women here in the states that are married to black military men so I am sure not every single person there is racist. Okay I have never been to Germany but I remember about 8-10 years ago that my husbands team were walking on some design plan for a company based in Germany. They had used an image with a black man (there were other people also on the image) as part of the design. My husband got a call from the client (probably a project manger or something) who asked if he could work the black man out of the image as people might find it offensive. My husband was shocked of course because you do not hear people in the US be that openly racist. The bottom line was they had to remove the black guy from the body of the image to keep a high paying client happy. Of course this might also have been a random thing. I am not sure.

1) When we were travelling to our hometown, and we've entered the town, not untill we reach our personal house there, I would keep asking, "When are we arriving Ègbè?" lol. Just my home bears the Town's name.
2) I personal as a kid taught that when travelling abroad with airplanes,the whites' ground (floor) is our sky. So whoever take a hike,reached their no go area could fall down from our sky (their own ground) and roll to our own ground and die.

Wow. Brings back memories of our childhood roadtrips. We would always say "from here to the back we are FIRST". We would always ignore the cars in front of us. Then we would sing with all the plates of all the cars that drive by. So when we saw Bendel we would sing Bendel Bendel Bendel Bendel Bendel. Lagos Lagos Lagos Lagos etc. I still don't know why my dad did not just drive off the road. Five noisy children in one vehicle LOL. We had so much fun on roadtrips sha. Simpler times.

That philosophy is so true, Been living in Europe for some years and I have'nt experience any form racism or racial comment and gesture toward me. The fact is, Western europe communities is a place of idea and standard, If u can demostrate that u are someone with productive ideas and standard, u will get the respect u deserve from the people around u. In social interaction, a good logical control of what u are talking will get u far, change perceptions and attract people to want to listen to u and even want to even make friends with u. What amaze me sometimes is that, I have more extreem rights european friends than liberals.
