I agree with your first paragraph but the second paragraph isn’t true. I’m a U.K. resident and I know of two persons resident in Nigeria, one a friend and another an acquaintance, who are into online tech jobs and earning over £5k a month each. They do freelance tech jobs with multinational companies in the U.K., US and Australia. So his offer is a possibility but the after tax part was either fabricated or sugar-coated.

It is very possible to earn £60,000 per year doing tech jobs. There are people that earn £1,000/day.

The question is out of the multitude of job seekers in the UK and US, why would employers employ someone based in Nigeria to do a tech job based in the UK/US? There are work visa issues to sort out, how does the person pay tax? Which bank account do they receive the salary in e.t.c. Maybe they are consultants working independently and not employees. Or they could be be employed locally to work in Nigerian subsidiaries but payed in foreign currency. Or they have some very specialist skills. What kind of tech roles are they in?

At the end of the day na still demsay unless you have seen the money go into their account with your own eyes.

You should be telling the person to consider what their background is. Are they technically minded? Any exposure to programming? Their people skills, knowledge of SDLC e.t.c. It is only after that that a person can make a holistic decision about what area in 'tech' they'd like to go into.

Look at this broke fool in Okokomaiko saying £4000/month is base salary. £48,000 a year in a country where the average salary is £25,000. Have you seen an airport before? Does anyone if your family members in Europe earn even half that amount?

Nope... If you have the appropriate visa for Nigeria in your second country passport or the 2nd country passport was issued in Nigeria there is no requirement for you to have a Nigerian passport.

Technically yes, but this is Nigeria, they may give him problems for not having an entry visa on his passport, then he then has to start to explain how he is possession of a Uk passport issued in London with no entry visa and you know how Nigerians are!! it's not illegal to post a passport but we are talking about Nigerian Immigration here.

Then again they may not give him problems because he is a kid. But technically speaking they have no reason to deny him, it is not illegal to post a passport. However they may say that since he is presenting a foreign passport he is a foreigner and therefore should have a visa on his passport.

This is it. Be prepared to grease some palms. If the British passport was issued in Lagos then they you'd have been able to stand your ground but as it is UK issued, roja the immigration ppl and let your child go

In this same London there are Nigerians earning £500/day as contractors mostly in the IT sector, Business Analysts, Test Engineers, Project Managers e.t.c. so it is possible to live well above average too

N1.5m every month is almost £1.9K. To earn that here after tax and NI you'd need to earn about £29,000 a year which is well above the £25,000 avg annual salary

Lets assume you get a job that pays that much in London these will be your basic average monthly outgoings

Room: £600 (includes broadband, council tax, tv licence)
Travel: £260 (z1-6)
Phone: £20
Food: £240
Misc: £100

Thats a total of £1,220. You save £650 to £700 every month.

If you dont have children, there will never be better time to make the move cause once children are involved na double wahala. If you have a proper plan go for it but if na just dreams and dem say, continue making your money in Nigeria for now until things settle down

Exactly. The judgement was since 1993 o!. The only way they can compensate the landlords association appropriately is to give them the cash equivalent of 549 plots in Magodo at today's prices

549 plots x N75M which is about N42B shocked

LASG is being mischievous. Judgment specifically said to allocate the landlords association, 549 plots in Magodo but LASG are offering them plots in faraway places like Badagry and Ibeju Lekki.

I am not into telecoms but I just wonder where and how these telcos are going to recoup the money spent on these licenses.

5G is really just a value added service and not revolutionary (yet) as claimed or sold The telcos will still have the same subscribers and the same growth rate, maybe a little higher but nothing to justify the high fees.

5G will be a decent revenue earner for them if it can provide constant high speed internet which can replace home broadband. If the anecdotal evidence from my friends and I in the western capital city I am based in is anything to go by, then I cant see that happening anytime soon.

So can anyone in the know educate me? Please dont tell me of all the nice things 5G will do in the future, tell me what it can do in the medium term (next 5yrs)
