The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is expected to release the National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) , Chief Olisa Metuh on the directive of President Muhammadu Buhari. As at the time of this report, the directive had not been received from Mr. President. Dawn-To-Dusk News however gathered that Metuh has written a 2-page statement. According to a source," As at 7:42pm this evening, Olisa Metuh has finished answering all questions on the allegations & made a statement to this effect. EFCC says they are waiting for directives from president Buhari to release him or not.Olisa Metuh statement to EFCC was short - 2 pages.
"He said former president Goodluck Jonathan called him & gave him an assignment. That he carried out the assignment perfectly well & reported back to the former president who was satisfied with job done. That if the EFCC has any case they should charge him to court. He is ready to defend himself. That he disbursed all monies to those it was meant for but will not give details until he is charged to court. That former president directed he should give an account for which the job can be funded & he gave his company account.
"Asked for a copy of the report, Olisa said its for his personal records & he will not give EFCC but will present it in court. That he was transferred N400m for the job & he disbursed it to the last kobo. That he submitted a report to GEJ & he has a copy. They asked Olisa to make additional statement, he declined & said they should use force if they want him to.Olisa Metuh is set for Court. It's now over to EFCC for next move.Olisa has refused to drink water or eat food. They asked him, his reply: "Do you people want to poison me?"

moscobabs: My wife was admitted to a tradomedical hospital in October last year due to fracture in her leg from motor bike accident on 26th . Although we can see improvement on the leg but what baffle me is the sudden change in her body weight and size which the doctor explained that is a result of not going out for exercise and the effect of drugs which she has been taking since her first day in hospital.
Just 2 night ago... I just discovered that she is snoring uncontrollably and this is very strange to me because her nose doesn't block and she's sleeping with her sides , Samething last night . I googled the causes of snoring and I could not See anywhere they relates to my wife situation.
Nairalanders pls help me o.. Can it be as a result of the drugs?
Is her nature change due to her condition?
Can it continue like this or is for a little time?
Can we get drugs that can cure the snoring?
If it persist what is the negative effect?
Please doctors in the house help me , am afraid o.
Thanks

God bless you Your wife most likely has Obstructive Sleep Apnea. If you also observe closely, you will find out that she stops breathing several times during the night. That is the severity of her apnea. It is caused by a lot of factors including weight gain. Physiologically, it is caused by the obstruction of the tongue during sleep as it falls back and obstructs the windpipe. Your wife needs to see a pulmonologist so that they will conduct a sleep study for her and most likely give her a CPAP machine to breathe with at night while she sleeps. It is a mask like device that forces oxygen down her lungs wile she sleeps. Most people ignore snoring and sleep apnea. While snoring, our lungs are gasping for oxygen, the bran cells and the heart are deprived of oxygen. This stresses out the brain and the heart leading to hypertension, heart failure, fatigue and daytime sleepiness. |
Family › Re: Wife's Infidelity; Please Advise. by Rhea: 7:02pm On Jan 03, 2016 |
AstuteJ: I need your candid advice on how to handle the various cases of infidelity against my wife. We have been married for 10 years with kids and I have never had any reason to doubt her until the following incidents began to unfold;
1. Sometimes in 2012, I took her to the market on a Sunday morning. She left her phone inside the car while she went into the market. A message dropped and I picked her phone to check, what I saw was a joystick sent by one of her BBM contacts. I dropped the phone aand pretended I dint see anything. When she came back, she checked the phone, saw the picture, deleted it and pretended nothing happened.
I waited for like 5hours to be sure she wasn't going to talk about it before bringing it up. She claimed it was sent in error and went ahead to call the guy to register her displeasure. I believed her and laid the matter to rest.
2. About six months later, I was out of the country. She called about 6pm that she needed to drop some items for a client at City Mall, little did I know she went to meet a man at Swe bar. I got back some days later and noticed she was all over her phone chatting and smiling while I was talking to her. I took the phone from her to see whom she was chatting it. All the previous chats had been deleted and I continued chatting with the guy. I could not flow well because the guy was coding and suspected he wasn't chatting with the right person.
I went through her phone for any prior message between them and I saw an SMS she sent to him at about 11:45pm the day she went to City Mall; "I just got home, please call if you can"! I did further findings before she confessed she went to meet with the guy at Swe bar and had to call to lis to me in case she runs into one of my friends. She claimed the guy is an old friend and had issues in his marriage, so she turned a marriage counsellor overnight to go solve the issues.
3. While I was still with her phone, the guy that sent his joystick pinged and I started chatting with him. The guy went very romantic and I cautioned him not to put me in trouble like he did when he sent an unsolicited pix of his joystick. The guy went "Ah Stella, but you asked me to send it na, have you forgotten? That you even sent me a pix of your laps taken in a dark room when I asked for yours"! I was speechless! He went "and you said you told your hubby it was sent in error and he believed you". I confronted my wife with all these and she still had some "stories" to tell.
4. We were at her Mum's place two years ago and she got a call, she told the fellow to come see her there. Her ex came in some minutes later to the warm embrace of the mum. We greeted and he wasted no time to settle in and joined the discussion on ground. The last time I saw him was before we got married and she claimed they never dated. The guy talked about his wife, how poor she is in home keeping, in the kitchen. on bed etc. My wife cut in "and this lady is supposed to be enjoying Andy o, cos I remember Andy knows how to take care of a woman, each time he came visiting in the university days, he always came with bags full of goodies". She even suggested seeing the woman to advise her and the guy said "no you are not in the best position to do that, you know she is not too comfortable with you".
All these happened right in the presence of my mother in law and I kept my calm all through. We left there after the show of shame and I warned her to cut all communications with the guy.
5. Few weeks later, same guy came to our church to worship. After the service wifey told me his kids would like to follow us home to meet our kids; I did not respond. Her mum and aunt was also in the church same Sunday and I drove them and my wife straight to my house. The guy drove behind. We got home, wifey went to the kitchen to cook, her mum and aunt settled in to a good gist with this guy in my own very living room. I picked my keys and left the house for them. I returned late in the night when they had all left and you can guess what happened afterwards.
6. I was with her phone few weeks later and another ex bumped in. "My baby, how are you doing, I have missed you bla bla bla". He requested they meet somewhere on the mainland two days later! After taking a second look at the unsaved number, I remembered the number had sent her an SMS; "can I call you now" about twice in the past. the second time I saw the SMS, I called the number with her phone but the guy refused to pick all thru the day!
7. Last Christmas dat, she gave me her phone to check something on her whatsapp and a chat came in from a guy I have been monitoring his number for a while. The excerpt of the chat is below (I took over the chat from the line he asked for her pix).

Thank you. Sorry my brother. Water don pass garri tey tey. You seem to have married a woman who could not handle your absence in the home and thus chose to seek emotional comfort outside the confines of your home. At this juncture, you should be asking yourself some soul searching questions. I assume you have young children, so you may ask yourself if you treasure their happiness and stability. If so, you will have to continue to manage with your wife until they become teenagers, then you can call it quits. Otherwise, file for divorce so she can have more time and liberty to indulge in her new found pasttime. |

Durentt: Lol i cant seem to wrap dis idea how Engineering students think or act lik they do/know mathematics aspect more dan those who spend all their freaking lecture hours solving am Pure Mathematics student nd an engineering student came to me today saying "am wastin my time doin pure maths that dey (engineering) are equal to mathematicians plus dey hav added engineering knowledge. I was lik wtf, suite urself, i kno why i chose mathematics over engineering during JAMB. Am not a foool. Engineering students brag to be all rounder but i refuse to accept an engineer can replace a mathematican except in a useless country lik nigeria A mathematician eats, drinks and breathes maths all day long. An engineer is concerned with the application of maths and basic sciences to explain engineering concepts. Ideally, a math major should know more math than an engineering major. It is common sense and deserves no controversy. An engineering major takes several math classes in the first 2-3 years of undergrad. Unfortunately, the disrespect for ''pure'' disciplines like maths, physics and chemistry in Nigeria and indeed developing nations implies that only engineers, doctors and lawyers are recognized in the scheme of things. In developed countries, mathematicians abound in the petroleum, medical, engineering, and financial sectors. Durrent: I would advise you to aspire for a graduate position in maths in the US after undergrad. There is a dearth of mathematicians today. They may not and probably won't ever earn as much as engineers. But over time you will agree that the true joy of maths is the satisfaction you derive from solving problems from a maths standpoint. Might astound you to know that all biologic and chemical principles have a pattern/sequence/chaos to it that can be explained by maths |
Politics › Re: Chibok Girls Alive And Kicking, Says Boko Haram’s Contact - TVC NEWS [ABUJA] by Rhea: 8:24pm On Jan 02, 2016 |
lanrema: TVC NEWS [ABUJA] - Journalist cum confidant of the leadership of Boko Haram, Ahmed Salkida, says he's confident that the abducted Chibok girls are still alive with some of them refusing to convert to Islam.
No fewer than 200 of the original 300 schoolgirls kidnapped from their dormitory in April 2014 are believed to still remain in the custody of the terrorists.
President Muhammadu Buhari said in his maiden Media Chat on radio and television on Wednesday that government had no intelligence on the whereabouts of the schoolgirls.
He promised to negotiate with the Boko Haram leadership if there is evidence showing where the girls are.
Online publication, The Cable, quoted Salkida yesterday as asking Buhari to use state machinery to open up access to the militants rather than say he has no clue on the kidnapped girls whose abductions sparked off the #BringBackOurGirls campaign.
“Most of the Chibok girls, whether they are split into groups or not, are alive, multiple credible sources have told me. And if a deal to release them will weaken national security and endanger the entire country, then the federal government shouldn’t make a deal,” Salkida said.

How true is this coming from Tinubu tv I have every reason to suspect this Ahmed Salkida. Over the years, he claims to be an insider into the workings of boko haram. If he still owes any allegiance to Nigeria and to his profession (hopefully it is still journalism), he should provide Nigerians with a proof of life of the Chibok girls. Most Nigerians have already given up on the Chibok girls. If a plausible proof of life is provided, it will help galvanise public opinion to push the Nigerian government to prioritise the rescue / negotiation for the girls. So Salkida, go and ask your contact in boko haram for proof of life |

omenka: Drove into an NNPC mega station to refill my tank only to see this guy beside me. He had a bike who's fuel tank has been reconstructed to accommodate nothing less than 30litres of petrol.
As a matter of fact, there were three of them, but I was able to capture just this beside me.
It is such a shame Nigerians have become so crooked in nature- when you make laws/rules by which all must abide, they device ingenious means to break those rules. This trick of modifying fuel tanks has become a lot more bigger than how they were originally produced has become the most preferred trick adopted by black-marketers to beat officials and dispensers to their game.
Now I understand what they meant when they said "be the change you want to see around you".

Health › How An Orgasm A Day Can Slash A Man's Cancer Risk by Rhea(op): 5:54pm On Dec 31, 2015 |
Men who have regular orgasms - once a day - are less likely to be diagnosed with prostate cancer, a study has found. Regular ejaculation throughout their lives reduces the risk of the disease, scientists discovered. The researchers, from Harvard Medical School, said they could not explain why orgasms could lower prostate cancer risk, adding further research is necessary. However it has previously been suggested that regular orgasms may flush out cancer-causing chemicals in the prostate. Another theory is that if sperm is regularly cleaned out to allow new cells to develop, it helps stop the build-up of old cells that might be more likely to turn cancerous. The prostate is a small satsuma-sized gland located between a man's penis and his bladder. Its main function is to produce a thick white fluid that is mixed with the sperm produced by the testicles, to create semen. The Harvard study is the largest to date to examine the frequency of ejaculation and related prostate cancer risk. The researchers found that men in the 40 to 49 age bracket who ejaculate 21 or more times a month reduced their risk of prostate cancer by 22 per cent. This was compared to men who ejaculate four to seven times a month. While the researchers said they were unclear as to why ejaculation lowers the chances of prostate cancer, they called the results ‘particularly encouraging'. The study followed almost 32,000 healthy men for 18 years - 3,839 of whom later were diagnosed with prostate cancer. Men were asked about their average monthly frequency of ejaculation between the ages of 20 to 29, 40 to 49, and in 1991, the year prior to the questionnaire. They found that the more frequently a man ejaculated throughout his life, the lower his risk of prostate cancer at all three of these points in time. This was the case even when they adjusted their results to take factors such as diet, lifestyle and a history of prostate cancer screening into account. Dr Jennifer Rider, of Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, said the results are ‘particularly encouraging’ but should be interpreted with caution. She said: ‘While these data are the most compelling to date on the potential benefit of ejaculation on prostate cancer development, they are observational data and should be interpreted somewhat cautiously. ‘At the same time, given the lack of modifiable risk factors for prostate cancer, the results of this study are particularly encouraging.’ http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/article-3379287/How-orgasm-day-slash-man-s-cancer-risk-Regular-sex-lowers-chance-prostate-tumors-20.html?ito=social-twitter_mailonline |

Assslayer: I'm beginning to get more curious and furious about this , it has been going on for about four years now and people are not seeing anything wrong about it or i say his members are brainwashed to the highest order not to see anything wrong in this. Someone should please call this Christ Embassy church to order, every year they charge people coming to worship with them on the 31st night the sum 1000 naira as a gate fee. In the previous years they sell tickets before the show sorry i mean service, so all who wants to attend the 31st night service must come with their tickets to enter the church auditorium .
But this year they decided to craft another means of collecting this 1000 naira, they made it compulsory for each attendees to purchase an electronic gate pass for 1000naira. My question is , are they going to dance to the melody of a superstar singer or dance to sound of a superstar DJ ? Even the huge yearly program The Experience is free, someone should please call this Loveworld ministry aka Christ Embassy to order, reaping off our gullible citizens. Unfortunately, your fury amounts to nothing if it is only displayed on the pages of nairaland. If you want it to mean something, then stop patronizing them. chris oyakhilome is in the business of winning souls for his church. He is a business man who ploughs the fields of the gullibility of his followers. He also makes no apology for doing so. He is also not alone in the game. If you look around you, you will find at least 3 people who cannot afford their next meal due to circumstances beyond their control. That N1000 will mean much more to them than it will to you or oyakhilome and his business partners. So, if you are truly tired of being arm-twisted every new year's eve for N1000, then wake up and do something definite and tangible about it. I am now waiting for the next "touch not my anointed" yadiyadiya |

The only opportunity you have is the one starring you in the face. When another one shows up, you can always move on or stay put. But NEVER let a good opportunity pass you by. Take the job you now have. This is December. In January, even the crayfish seller is waiting for senate to pass the budget |

Politics › Re: I Dumped Nyako For Atiku Because He Gave Me N500 Million- Adamawa Governor by Rhea: 9:20pm On Dec 29, 2015 |
sanky346: Governor Jibrilla Bindow of Adamawa state has provided reason on why he shifted his loyalty from former governor Murtala Nyako to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Governor Jibrilla said the chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) donated N500 million to his governorship campaign. Speaking while receiving Jimeta community elders, the governor accused some powerful politicians of attempting to smear his image because he refused to do their bidding.
“Apart from the money from the headquarters, nobody gave me ten naira during the campaign. The former Vice President asked me if we had any financial problem. So, I called the party secretary, Abdullahi Bakari, who put our demand at N300 million. Then, the former Vice President sent N500,000 million through Jauro,” he said.
Atiku, who was elected governor in 1999, was a key political figure in Adamawa State. He left his position as governor to become Vice President after former President Olusegun Obasanjo chose him as his running mate. His deputy, Boni Haruna became governor after his decision to run for the office of Vice President on Atiku-Obasanjo presidential joint ticket on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
