They outsourced a lot of the labour to Asia but it's impacting jobs at home, so a correction is being made as we speak.

What i mean is if they can have cheap labor within their own countries using their own people, it's possible to even double their gdp, but westerners can't accept low wages.

Even Asian countries can't compare with Africa in terms of wages.

Maybe we are saying the same thing, I'm not sure i understand you correctly, but my point is Nigerian currency can be as highly valued as the us or at least China if we are as innovative.
If we become innovative n an industrialised exporting nation, our currency will rise. The value of naira to dollar or pound will increase, it won't remain static at #500 to 1 dollar.
That's the point people are missing. The value of a currency is directly proportional to the strength of the economy.

Do you know the story of China?.

Communism will work,if the focus is on capitalism,innovation,anti-corruption and respect for human rights.

Democracy is a big scam.

Thats the reason China is overtaking the world.

China has made more Nigerians millionaires/billionaires than the so called democratic countries you admire, because of their sincerity and controlled greed.

Even Billionaire Dangote is one of their customers:He contracted them to build certain parts of his refinery.

Tecno phone is a reality today because of China. The list of Nigerians who have become wealthy through the Chinese connection is endless.

How man Nigerian millionaires have the west created?.

How many Nigerians are permite to own mega companies in the US?.

Its easier for a Nigerian to own a company in China, than in the USA.
Its easier for an American to own a company in China, than the USA.

Pls dont belive their propagana agianst commuinisim done right.
Dont get it confused...
China is not practicing communism...
Modern China is more capitalist than USA...
Communism breeds poverty n incompetence. China abandoned it in 1979.
China communist party is simply an authoritarian regime that has the well being of its citizen at heart.

SportsSenegalese Lamine Diack, Former IAAF President Sentenced To Jail In France by SIRTee15(op):
The former head of global athletics, Lamine Diack, has been found guilty of corruption for covering up Russian doping cases in exchange for bribes and sentenced to four years in prison – two of which have been suspended – and fined €500,000 (£455,000).

Several other senior figures in track and field, including the president’s son Papa Massata Diack and the sport’s former head of anti-doping Gabriel Dolle, were also given jail sentences for their part in a scheme in which 23 Russian athletes had their doping sanctions waived so they could compete at the London 2012 Olympics and 2013 world championships in Moscow.

The scheme, which was called “full protection”, was said by prosecutors to have been first suggested by Lamine Diack at a meeting with the then Russian sports minister, Vitaly Mutko, in November 2011. Diack Sr, president of what was then the International Association of Athletics Federations, then directly or indirectly solicited £3.1m from athletes to conceal their offences so they could continue competing.

It was also alleged that Diack Sr was involved in a $1.5m (£1.15m) payment from Russia to finance election campaigns in Senegal in 2012, in exchange for slowing down doping cases targeting Russian athletes.

However, the presiding judge in the court in Paris, Rose-Marie Hunault, said Diack was unlikely to go to jail. “Given your age you can expect conditional release,” she added. Diack said he would immediately lodge an appeal.

Papa Massata Diack, who was tried in absentia because Senegal refuses to extradite him, was sentenced to five years in prison and fined €1m.

The Diacks are also being investigated on suspicions of corruption in the awarding of the 2016 Olympic Games to Rio de Janeiro and the postponed 2020 Games to Tokyo. Formerly Habib Cissé, a senior IAAF lawyer, was given a three-year sentence and fined €100,000 while Dolle was sent to prison for two years and fined €144,000.

The two others involved in the scheme, the Russian coach Alexei Melnikov and Valentin Balakhnichev, a former IAAF treasurer, were also found guilty and sentenced to three years and two years respectively. Balakhnichev also has to pay a £1.8m fine.

Also, Russia opts to pay £5m fine for doping offences as it seeks way back into the sport.

Massata Diack, Cissé, Melnikov and Balakhnichev have already been banned from athletics for life for causing “unprecedented damage” to the sport after being found guilty of corruption, blackmail and extortion.

PoliticsRe: If Some Churches In Nigeria Have 247 Power Supply, Why Can't Nigeria Have Same? by SIRTee15:
I made reference to Canaan land success story in my contribution in that thread.

The problem is something called the national grid. Any power generated in this country above a certain MW (possibly 100 but I'm not sure) must be fed into the national grid and redistributed across the nation.
I'm sure power generated in Canaan land is below the limit, so they get to keep their energy.
The way forward is this....
Let power generation be completely removed from the exclusive list n fully decentralised- this include generation, transmission, n distribution.
Let there be full private participation in all sectors of power n PPP should be encouraged.
Regions that need electricity to power their industrial drive n manufacturing capability should be allowed to forge ahead. Regions/states that prefer darkness can continue with the national grid.
That's the answer to electricity problem in this country n not the utopia talk of 24/7 electricity for all Nigerians.

This is actually very good for Africa but I know some of us who are totally beholden to extreme nationalistic impulses together with our 'over-weaternized' political elite will be highly troubled by the this. I am of the view that the main reason why africa is such a sorry state today is because the French, the British coordinated by the Americans don't really see any ideological foe in the horizon here. They get everything cheap and easy here and this tends to make them treat Africans with disgust. We are like a defeated people; totally down and out and as such the westerners have more or else designated this continent as a huge mining field where their multi national companies go to install presidents and then loot to the brim with no one challenging them.

But a huge Chinese presence will force the west to take Africa serious. The Asian tigers; the koreans, the Taiwanese, Singaporeans were all helped by the west to stabilize in order to be used as some sort of ideological bullwark against the communists in China and the Soviet Union. That kind of high level ideological group confrontations never happened here. We need it.People should stop the fear mongering about the chinese! They are good people. Let them help us biuld shining cities like shanghai and shenzhen.. There is nothing the Chinese are going to take that they can not take now! When the west notes that Africa is seriously tilting towards the Chinese, they may start supporting responsible governments here that will produce economies healthy enough to encourage a 'pro-west' population and not supporting the likes of Paul Biya and the Mobutus.
This is a powerful piece from an intelligent mind.
Yes, the West was forced to develop the 4 Asian tigers -Taiwan, south korea, singapore n Hong kong plus Japan to limit the spread of communism in Asia.
They should do the same to Africa. The west cannot be complaining of Chinese presence and investment in Africa if they not going to do anything to help the continent.
But Africa should also use their head when dealing with china. Their head no correct at all.

@Rugaria, pls don't be deceive with the 2 billion Chinese population market access.
Na the same bobo they sold to western nations....we are all witness to how it ended in tears for western nations.
The Chinese market is heavily restricted n guarded by CCP. Foreign investment or imports is severely limited n very selective.
China is only interested in solid minerals, agricultural produce, wildlife n forestry when it comes to Africa.
That's why I wrote earlier we should use our head when dealing with china or else it will also end in tears for Africa.
PoliticsRe: What's Exactly Stopping Nigeria From Having 24/7 Electricity? by SIRTee15: 5:55pm On Sep 06, 2020
The biggest problem is this thing called national grid.
Power above a particular MW generated anywhere in this country must be fed into the national grid and then redistributed to different part of the country.
This is a disincentive for private sectors to invest in our energy sector.
Let the power sector be completely decentralised including transmission. Let each state or region have their own independent energy policy if they choose to without Abuja breathing on their neck.
Places like Brass and cannanland in Ota are not connected to national grid and they enjoy uninterrupted power supply. Why can't such be replicated on a larger scale in other parts of the country.
States like Lagos, Rivers and Anambra should be able to attract investors into their power sector because they know they will get good ROI.
The reality now is Nigeria cannot afford 24/7 electricity for everybody. But some regions can push the frontier for regular power supply which will be a catalyst for industrial growth in such areas.
That's what we need now, not necessarily 24 hours power supply for the whole nation.

Interesting enough, I love treating my family to delicacies (on a steady basis) and I'm not even married yet!
What makes you think you have the authority to decide what my husband and I will do in our own home (who are you again?)?
Oga, face the man who can't run his home properly and leave my matter out of it!
Any woman who thinks she's not born to cook for her family should not marry but remain single for life.
Simple.
This is not about u and your husband.
But about enforcing strong family values n entrenching healthy communal fellowship.
African feministas should not come n destroy traditional values that's proven valid n trusted for thousands of years because of their laziness n entitled mentality.
Western feminist who detest family responsibility simply stay away from the marriage institution. I don't know why that's so difficult for our African feminists to copy. Rather than getting married n becoming headache for everybody.

Everyone should cook, especially people who can't afford helps and caterers!
He was trying to use the good woman angle on me, which will not fly.
Na so so good woman she go dey form until she drops out of exhaustion. God forbid.
Ok lets get something clear. Cooking in the home is the primary responsibility of the wife.
A woman has no business getting married if she doesn't want to be cooking on regular basis. Such a lady should stay single for life.
I don't understand where all this nonsense is coming from.
because last time I checked, married white women ( u guys are trying too hard to copy) cook for their home, they cook for friends who come visiting and cook for family gathering/reunion.
There are thousands of youtube vlogs dedicated to married white women culinary skills in the kitchen.

Asian, Arab and latin women cook for their families without issues.
It's only in Africa that black women wants to turn modernity on its head with their warped feminist ideology that makes no sense.
I don't even see this as feminism...rather what I can perceive is a lazy but entitled generation trying to avoid responsibility.

It's not by force to marry, stay single if u don't like the responsibility that comes with it.

If the Nigerian government is borrowing what they "cannot repay ", then it's their fault and not the fault of China and it doesn't make them evil for seizing your assets. (Banks do that all the time). Also, I think you are wrong about the potentials of the railway. The Abuja-Kaduna train generates a lot of money every month even after the problem of insecurities had lessened. Also, Nigeria does not need to link it to all parts of the country. Do You prefer to see thousands dying on highways? Again, China has given enough time for any responsible government to pay back. It's far far better than IMF.

Yes we should, and that is why the government is still getting deals and conducting the gas pipeline projects around the country. In fact, Abba Kyari got his virus in Germany when he went to discuss a deal. With electricity, you can expect a lot more investments to come to Nigeria and the rebirth of Ajaokuta steel. Also, the government is assisting Dangote to build a refinery. Look, I'm not entirely happy with this government but not everything they do is condemnable. It's better for us to have "useless infrastructures " than for us to have none while one idiot corners all the money to himself.

You just called them communists, and now you are calling them capitalists. It is only logical that they will be brutal when they need to be. In Kaduna and Kano, they treat workers so well that nobody ever says anything negative about them. I am not trying to be a tribalist (though I admit that I'm one) but to be honest, the average hausa man is more honest than the southerners (on average). That's why 419 is hardly ever an issue here. Also, we are not always trying to be "sharp " by cutting costs, trying to cheat our employers or simply misbehaving. If you mess with somebody's business whether Chinese, American or even African, he is going to mess you up. So far I don't hear any stories about them here. In fact, the Chinese even have a Sarauta (hausa traditional title) in Kano and a SHIT LOAD of them are speaking Hausa and relating well with the people today.

Would you mind telling me how the Chinese people developed please? And when you do that, don't forget to compare that with the way the west developed using the blood of your forefathers and the wealth of your land.

So far, they have not annexed even one country or kicked any leader out. I can mention ten leaders that the western nations have kicked out of power. China is here to conduct business and we will not allow anybody to sabotage it with baseless, paranoid propaganda. Even Pompeo has been begging people to stop trading with China because it is fast becoming a threat to their dominance.

Indian, Japanese, French, American and English companies are scattered all over China and no one is saying that China is being colonized. America is owing China over a trillion dollars and no one is saying that China is colonizing USA. It is only when it comes to Africa that you start hearing rubbish like that.

Let me ask you a question. Do you approve what France is doing to their "former" colonies? If you don't, then kindly tell me why the West is yet to criticize France for it.
Ok let us be clear...

AFRICANS must do the hard work to develop the continent. We must be smart, disciplined n ruthless in dealing with foreign nations, either east or west. Or else, we will forever be the dreg of the rest of the world.

U mentioned western nations do business in china. Do u know the term n condition those companies are subjected in order to operate in china.....
They are forced to transfer technology, they are not allowed to compete with Chinese companies in the same sector, they must share data n research with other Chinese establishment.
China forced Siemens, bombardier, n Alston to transfer technology b4 they could win the contract to build the 1st bullet train in China. Today, China is the world leading manufacturer of bullet train.
Why do u think Trump is fighting China? because he knows China has beaten them in their own game.
It's a dog eat dog world out there, africa must learn the game if we want to develop....

In Nigeria, you can cause any controversy because majority of the people do not read and only go by the headline. Nigeria is a sovereign state and the waiver in the contract was only to guarantee that the debtor will get paid, which is normal. For those talking about oil wells and mining sites being taken over, that will be foolish on the Chinese part because the Nigerian government can render those assets useless if they are taken over by simply passing laws (Tax, operational etc.) that will inhibit them from getting full value from those assets. The Chinese are more likely to go after assets outside the country if we default.
