She's pretty. |
Hi Guys, I'm not a French language student but I'm Québécois, and it's really exciting seeing Nigerians speak/write the language so well. I know it's not easy learning a language as an adult, and I can only imagine the amount of time and efforts y'all put into this. It's really remarkable. Also, I learned a while ago that one is likely to be banned by the anti-spam bot for typing a long post in French. The only way to avoid this is by not using any of the French accents. I, therefore, beseech y'all to be mindful of this while we call on Seun and his team to look into the issue. Bon courage, mes amis ! |
SeriouslySense:Nice. Everyone tells me it's not hard, yet I can't cook it. |
Truvelisback:You said "food" and I only asked cause there are countless number of foods I eat without any of those. Sorry, I don't know enough about Nigerian dishes to understand what is referred to as "food". I didn't mean to rile you up. |
Chiver:I can't see any tracks too but it's obviously Rick. There was already snow on the ground before he parked his car. That's why you can see snow bumps under his car. |
She was misled by an evil spirit to accuse her father and the spirit decided to take a break at the station? Poor kid. She might have been told not to bring disgrace to their family or not to wash thier dirty linen in public or whatever line used to hush such victims. Someone should please take her away from that house. |

illicit:I don't understand. Meat, fish and egg are also food, no? And when OP says he can't eat food without meat, fish or egg, is he referring to specific meals or is he saying that these items must be in everything he eats? |
Poor guy... |
Ammishaddai:I don't understand. Why would he go for Coursera if Allison is better? |
TundeWX:Interesting. Likewise, if a foreign trained doctor (regardless of the country) wants to practice in Nigeria, they'd need to pass some Nigerian exams as well. That's the standard in most countries. As for IT; yes, it's skill based but many Nigerians got into that field by studying Computer Science or Engineering. The school might not have given them all the skills they need to thrive in the IT world but the degree was an eye opener for them; it gave them the foundation. Many people have moved to Canada and France with their French language degrees. A lot of people from that same Nigeria are working as professionals outside the country with thier Nigerian degrees. My point is, individual experiences differ. Your university degree might not be useful to you (not necessarily your fault), but that doesn't make universities degrees generally useless. It gives some people the foundation to build on. The issue is when you expect that having one should automatically make life easier for you. Well, that's not the case even in the Western world. While Schools in the West are obviously far better than what you have in Nigeria, the students still succeed by self development. The schools mostly provide the enabling environment for them. I know education is not so great in Nigeria, but those who couldn't make anything out of the little the system can offer should not discourage those who are willing to give it a go. A hungry man does not reject a plate of food cause it's not big enough to satisfy him. Unless you have plans of studying abroad, it would be shameful not to strive for a degree on the grounds that it's not good enough. Just an opinion. |
UTILITYMAY:Those are mostly hypothetical though. Most Nigerians weren't using this calendar system 140 years ago. So many people born 100 years ago in Nigeria can't even get their year of birth right. They just use an event that happened around that period to describe when they were born and then others will make an informed guess. So while they might have been people who lived longer than this lady in Nigeria, the world would need some sort of birth record to acknowledge them. |
Juliusmomoh:Sir, just read what you're writing as an adult? Are you not ashamed? You guys spend morning and night slut-shaming women and dragging those that cheat through the blades. Now, the narrative is coming from a fellow guy and you're giving reasons while it's all cool while screaming "I'm not supporting the OP". Who are you deceiving? You realize that lady is married to a man like you? Do you guys really care about the act of adultery itself or just anything to leave the male guiltless? Just look at the way you're giving him a soft landing. If it were a lady boldly acknowledging her desire to sleep with a married man, would you be here narraring how married men love sex? Why not drop this herd mentality and think logically sometimes? |
. |
SeriouslySense:Yes, I agree giving them an environment to flourish would be a great idea. When you say 'compete with people', you mean they might compete with humans for food? I don't think we share the same food source. They prey mostly on smaller animals like crabs, insects, frogs, etc. Yes, there's a possibility they might cause damages to crops, but isn't that already the case with most bush animals? There are many common raccoons where I live and they don't give us issues (I don't know about farms). No, I am not an expert. I'm just a long-time animal lover/observer (almost a complete zoophilist, lol). |
In your shoes, I'd go and build my tech career in Germany without thinking twice. The long term benefits far outweighs anything you can get managing a club in Dubai. I've never been to Germany but I live in North America and I've temporarily lived in Dubai as well. Though I worked as a software engineer in both locations, I can tell you without mincing words that a tech career in the West is everything. Good luck. richmote:I'm into enterprise applications, e-commerce/POS design/development, cloud computing and systems integration. |
People on here are so narrow minded. There is no reason to assume he's gay. But let me ask you, what would be your reaction if he came to you as gay? Will you join the world in antagonizing him? Many guys open up to their friends more than their family members cause most family members see the world in black and white. OP, be a safe space for your brother. Make yourself available for him to communicate with. But do not mount pressure on him cause it's his life and he is not a kid. If he's gay and you didn't know all this while, and then suddenly he doesn't bother hiding it anymore, then I'd say he's gotten to a phase where he's tired of living a lie. He doesn't care anymore who deserts him at this point. He's ready to find out who his real family is. The question is, are you his real family? Does the gender he loves mean all the good things he's done for you as a big brother aren't important anymore? Do you really think the guy you've known all your life is suddenly a bad person cause he's gay? I've maintained that homophobia doesn't make any sense cause hating gay people doesn't make them extinct. They are around us as our brothers, sisters, fathers, mothers, aunties, uncles, cousins, friends, colleagues, school mates, etc. You love and appreciate them already. If finding out they're gay is enough to wipe away all the good memories of them you had, then they're better off without you. And those suggesting he would harm the OP, how many of y'all have harmed your little sisters? Disgusting. |
ashybabs:Lol... they must love babies so much! You realize adolescent male dogs sometimes hump thier human owners when there's no female dog around, and this is regardless of the owners' gender? Maybe they also want to procreate with the humans? femi4:Hehe... family planning dogs everywhere. |
I don't understand this thread. Do cats, dogs, goats, etc. do it for family planning? Most animals have sex for pleasure. |
SeriouslySense:Of course, like most animals, raccoons have benefits as can be see below: "Raccoons play an important role in maintaining ecosystem health. They are scavengers and will happily feed on carrion. These mammals essentially clean up the remains of dead animals after predators are finished, much like the vultures you see eating roadkill. In addition to scavenging, raccoons are also predators." However, the specie OP mentioned (I believe he was referring to the Mexican cozumel raccoon) is particularly important cause it's considered critically endangered (less that 500 of them on earth), and prior to now (assuming the OP is right) was believed to be in North America alone. I don't really know how they interact with other species, but I completely understand what you're saying about them being detrimental to other species. The invasive gray squirrel did that to the smaller red squirrel in England. On a side note, I don't think any species of raccoon is native to Africa. NB: I'd never heard the name "campache raccoon" before now. However, I just assume the OP is referring to the cozumel raccoon cause Cozumel is near Campeche in Mexico. |
Oh... Lucifer is not even gay? ![]() And he's polygamous?? This changes everything. |
Lol... the person above is doing exactly what he's accusing others of. By merely looking at Atiku and Jagaban, he concluded thier networth in USD. CFA |
Nice. It would be better if she's not sexualized though (as is being done by both the title and the comments above). Let's concentrate on what she can bring to the table as an individual. |
Freestainworld:And the lack of space is not too bad? Lol. |
I can't believe the first thing (and maybe the only thing) some people see when they read the letter is the kids' poor writing skills. This letter is touching. It's encouraging. In fact, it's mind blowing. Your wife is doing something good. The students saw a difference and they wanted to acknowledge and appreciate it. That's warm. Of course, thier poor command of the English language is striking, but that's not what this letter is about. Let's reserve the teaching/corrections for class and home works. Hopefully, they'll get better with time. |
vizkiz:Y'all and this mindset though. That you don't apply specific areas of mathematics in your domain today does not mean there aren't others who do. Secondary school mathematics ain't domain specific. It aims to teach the basics/roots. People move on with whichever subject area that applies to thier chosen domains. An accountant calculating inventory turn over at the end of a financial period wouldn't tell you that the maths he learned in school was a waste. A Computer programmer using the moving target search (MTS) algorithm to power the ghosts running after Pac-Man in the famous Pac-Man game wouldn't look at the question above and call it bullshit. You look at the perfectly constructed bridges in Lagos and you think it was pure arts at work? Mathematics is at the core of physical and management sciences. Please, don't give the upcoming generation any contrary impression cause of your specific situation. That will be many steps backwards. |
Suicide prevention hotlines exist in most countries, but what matters most is how people treat one another in the society. There are people of different body types/sizes out there, and body-shaming them doesn't really hide our own shortcomings. Poor men are bound to exist and they deserve as much respect as anyone else. People of different sexualities will be born regardless of the extent to which the government tries to criminalize thier activities. The world is full of different races and religions, and this is not likely to ever change, why not embrace it? My point is, the suicide rate will reduce when we, as humans, learn to show empathy to one another and embrace our differences. So while the suicide prevention team is doing thier good work, let's also do our part in making the world a better place! Thanks for sharing, OP. Why not also drop the Nigerian hotlines for suicide prevention? |
Lol... OP, please use things like "lol" or when you joke so people will know not to take whatever you're saying seriously. Also use the Jokes section next time and try titles that make it obvious it's a joke; something like "A Message From God's Chief of Staff".Nice one. ![]() |
Sad. Let's see what the "fear that gender" gang will say about this. |
What is I see in that cage looks more like a breed of the common racoon (Procyon Lotor as seen in the picture below). Vulcanheph:You are absolutely right. However, that they aren't native to Africa does not mean they can't be found in Africa at all. An animal (or plant) is said to be native to a location if they originated, breed or thrive naturally there without human intervention. But then again, humans can introduce an animal to a new location and in some cases (not all), the animal could adapt to the location by undergoing certain lifestyle changes (diet, sound, breeding season, etc.). I don't know why NL blame western media for everything including basic animal science as if there are no animals native to Africa only. Yet these guys go to school to study these things.

Eye witness? The person saw them sleeping together? |
