Righteousness2:Lol... OK, it would seem your preachings are more opinionated than factual. You'd usually come to such threads to tell us how all these are useless as they cannot guarantee heaven and how personal relationship with God is all that matters. Now, it's about someone whose political ideology you share, and you're suddenly more interested in praising him than preaching salvation and even relegated his personal relationship with JESUS. Well, as a preacher, you definitely have every right to take sides in politics. I just think it would be great not to muddle up things. Donald Trump couldn't care less about godly principles. He has his own principles and he stood by them. The people you're preaching to need to know that not agreeing with those principles doesn't necessarily mean they're not siding God. Don't box them into a corner. Just saying |
Hhmm.... The title would make one believe the girl came on to you, but that's not exactly the case. You were crushing on her, you actively sought her contact, you started chatting with her, and thereby given her the room to express herself freely. All fine, but now you know her age, do you still need us to tell you what do to do? What she has said to you is not unheard-of. As teens with raging hormones, we all had people we deeply crushed on, and if any of these people had come on to us or made themselves a "safe space", we probably would have told them how we felt. But as adults who have passed this age, do we really Nairaland to tell us what to do? I guess what I'm trying to ask is, what kind of advise are you really expecting from Nairalanders when it's obvious from your write-up you clearly know what to do? You don't know if you should follow your judgment as a mature man or act on a teen's crush? Is that it? One would say you're just here to seek moral support for what you intend to do to the kid. Sir, you can't in good conscience woo and sleep with a minor, and come out tomorrow to tell us how Nigerian girls are spoilt. She didn't have the courage to approach you earlier until you went after her, please find a way to reverse to that phase. Walk away with your dignity. Don't keep anybody as your sister; she is not your sister and pretending as if you're keeping her as one would be self deceit. The few minutes pleasure you seek could ruin your life. Even if you're not caught, you'll lose the moral authority to speak up against such acts for life even if your own daughter becomes a victim tomorrow. Just an opinion. |
drealcivilceno:I did. He insulted a user who called him deranged out of the blues by calling the user's mum useless, and the David guy hopped in as a defendant by also taking on his mum. So I wasn't wrong when I said the David guy insulted his mum first. Not like I'm making a case for the governor's son who has no issues insulting people's mothers, but if we're going to be objective, we'd agree he was picked on, and the David guy isn't any better. It's a pig fight. Both were wrong and childish. Taking sides here would be sliding in the mud with them. |

I hope it's nothing serious. It probably is, but why not speak to a doctor about it? I don't really understand this idea of bringing to NL what should clearly be discussed with a professional. |
Several times. My mum abuses apology and sometimes even blames herself for things that are clearly my fault. My dad's typical line of apology starts with a 'maybe'. He'd be like "maybe I shouldn't have raised my voice, okay. The thing is...". I don’t let him get to the 'I'm sorry' part though. I usually cut him short and move on to other things. He knows that translates to 'apology accepted'. |
KanielOutis92:You meant to say he doesn't have the support of most Nigerians. |

Please, what is NBA yahoo boy? |
So much aggression. Sad... Asides the fact that this was a navy officer, I believe the idea of hitting people generally starts from our homes/schools. Anyone who grew up being hit by thier parents/teachers wouldn't have any problem hitting others. In Africa, it's normal to hit a kid provided one doesn't over-do it, but the issue is, who says what "over-do" is in this case? Is there a clear line? Some teachers even take pride in being dreaded. Spare the rod and spoil the child doesn't mean you literally need to hit the child with a rod. It simply means you should know when to punish a kid and not to give in to all thier demands. You can be strict without hitting people like animals. Only those who lack creative ways of maintaining discipline or those who didn't start early enough resort to hitting kids. |
Wow! This is good news! I remember your thread! Your ordeal was very disheartening. Here was my comment on it: https://www.nairaland.com/6505030/dad-not-among-escapees-owerri#100766226 Indeed, we are all products of our decisions. Really happy for y'all. |

Really? Owls are normally beautiful. This one is not. |
FIFApresident1:Lol... first, I prefer Genevieve a hundred times. I'm even surprised anyone would do such a comparison in the first place. But I get it, individual preferences could differ. This aside, here is my thought on Nollywood. I think Nollywood is getting better. Many Nigerians don't go the cinema or even have Netflix accounts. They come to trash-talk Nollywood after watching low budget home videos. The movie industry might not be where we want it to be but the cinematography and overall quality have improved over time. While I also believe the industry still needs good story writers, I'm not among those expecting Nollywood to be like Hollywood. In fact, it's very important that that doesn't happen. If not, we will lose our identity. Each movie industry is a reflection of its society. It doesn't make sense to expect certain things from Nollywood just because they exist in Hollywood. We just can't be more western than the westerners. Just a thought. |
Awwn... he's now campaigning against cyber bullying. That's touching. He has learned his lessons. I wish him the best. |
It's no longer Nigerian girls, it's now Ghanaian girls? Sir, you've just taken your sexism to a whole new level. Do you even realize how dumb this one sided criticism you guys engage in all the time makes y'all look? A child of 14 is having sex and, as an intelligent mature man, you really believe the girls are the bad yokes in the society? Do you even realize those kids are rape victims? Why do you guys let sexism becloud your sense of judgment? Y'all always call out one gender as if you're some paragon of morality. Yet, it's men like you that rape these underage girls. I agree there's moral decadence in Ghana (just like most places) but hanging it on one gender alone simply shows you're more interested in self gratification than solution. |
Or11:A sensitive topic if you are in the US/Canada, brother. Immigrants don't have issues being called that. However, let's not invalidate the experiences or perception of blacks born into the system whose history is rooted in slavery. The views are very different. My parents are first generation Immigrants, they don't care what you call them. Therefore, I also don't care about it. But many of my black friends will take offense to that and that's very understandable. I mean, if the word was used to insult or ridicule your grandfather and father, you would not wake up in 2021 to say it's now OK to call you that, at least, for your father's sake. Yes, some people are OK with it, but we shouldn't try to force it down the throat of those who aren't. I mean, even if it's just a racial slur that has over time come to become a mere identification, why should one even be called by thier racial identity? Even with all the associated privileges, a white man wouldn't still want to be called "hey, white man". As an Immigrant, you were never in any way impacted by that name. So it's a bit unfair to come to the US and tell the blacks here how to react to it. Generally speaking, I am of the opinion that Africans should stop this attitude of telling blacks Americans how to perceive racism. They don't have the black pride we have as Africans. Just a thought. OP, if they weren't talking to you, why not just mind your business. Like this guy said, they could be talking about thier friend who's okay with it. |
killerdragon:Oh... I get it now. |
Why not go to car rentals? There are many of them in Lagos. Isn't that the normal thing to do? |
To create a well written gig? The person will write a gig? Please, what does this mean? |
progangan:Burnt with petrol? Lol... I get it, the pest is driving you insane, but just be careful not to burn down your house. Roaches don't have any regards for protest, you know. And yes, blocking the holes is a great idea since they could be coming from outside I don't know if the acoustic device I suggested could be purchased anywhere near your location. The device will solve your problem regardless of where the roaches come from. |

Big one. Please, what's aauaites? Was it the aauaites that also burnt the snake? |
AheadMarket:Oh... I surely missed the sarcasm. The administration won't be there forever. |
AheadMarket:If those guys really killed protesters, this your post would very unfair/inconsiderate. Dismissing soldiers who sprayed bullets at civilians like holy water is logically the least the army can do. |
Davash222:I guess you meant to type "protesters". Actually, it would be hard knowing which one of them fired the shots. We're not even sure they'd eventually be dismissed. |
Lol... isn't 3 the only container that can actually be filled in up that diagram? From what I'm seeing, once 3 filled is up, the water starts to spill. |
Hahaha... entertaining. ![]() |
Just curious, is there a rule that says cameras are not allowed in the mortuary? |
Congrats, sir. I think both of you are well equipped to take care of the situation. You have all the resources you need. Good luck! |
