Crystyano:OK. |
4gunners:I don't know whg you're using exclamation marks. I'm probably lucky we're not in the same room at the moment. Maybe you'd have beaten me up for having a different opinion. Back to the topic, I am not a woman. And yes, the reason you gave is also valid. But that does not invalidate mine. If anything, it strengthens mine. A man needs money. When a man is rich, it becomes laissez-faire for him. He can have baby mamas everywhere and people will still admire him. But even a rich woman is shut down with "where is your husband?!" or "go and marry!". Let's not even talk about the associated shame of being a single mother in Africa. The traditions and religions are misogynistic. It's a man's world and Africa makes that very clear. From childhood, the females are meant to understand that males should always be ahead. Most school prefects are males assisted by females, SUG presidents are males, etc. Women can keep seeking equality but many of them know that being born female already keeps their counterparts ahead of them and the only way to measure up is to go the extra mile. These things are very clear. |
4gunners:Lol... My honest and blunt white friend once asked me "what is this white privilege y'all talk about?". Then it dawned on me that they simply don't see this racial privilege not because it doesn't exist but because they were born into it, so it's just normal. Have you ever hear the expression "go and marry!"? Well, people like Genevieve Nnaji, Rita Dominic, etc. must have lost count of how many times they've read it. Regardless of their success, the society expects them to have a man to be fully regarded. A young man who just got his first job would quickly get his own place and that's OK. When a lady stays alone, people are wary of her. Once there's a divorce, the only line we read on NL "Nigerian women of nowadays can't keep a home". Men cheating is not a big deal because men will always be men. Davido sleeps with different women, he is "OBO!", the women are olosho. All these are minor compared to those that have become systematic like the female child not inheriting properties, etc.. Yes, some women are well respected in society without anyone even caring if they had any husband or not. But like I said, these women had to be extra. |
PoliticallyLeft:Lol... NL Law. Interesting. Your logic: he was talking about cat. He came to a thread about a kid to discuss the pets they never claimed to have. You just made me have a good laugh this morning. I'm in for equality/fairness. I believe men are women should be given the same opportunities. I believe neither the leaders nor the citizens should be above the law. I believe the police has no right to abuse the civilians. I believe no one should be antagonized cause of their religion, gender, race, sexuality, social status, etc. And to anyone that cares to listen, I give reasons for my beliefs. It's fine if you do not agree with me but I don't think having beliefs is against any rule provided they don't aim at hurting anyone. I don't organize gay parties or hookups for people. I'm replying you cause I believe in engaging people. I don't know your friend but you thinking it is right for him to exhibit such perversion on a thread about a kid is simply alarming. Let's be telling each other the truth. Let's even ignore the part where you claimed I "rained abuses" on him cause the posts are here for all to see |
bukatyne:The parts where a successful woman is normally greeted with "go and marry!" and a single lady who lives alone and drives her own car is something to be wary of. |
aluyapreston:But they won't. You know why? Because it is impractical to police the way a public university students live thier lives outside the school premises. The lady in question could be anywhere in the world dancing. If the school expels her, they'd be starting what they cannot finish cause they'd also have to go to all the clubs around the school premises to identify and expel thier students who dance, smoke like chimneys and drink like fishes there. I've see the video and there's nothing about her dancing that we all have not see a hundred times before (also done by people who are mostly students at the time). We've seen videos of boys in clubs dancing amorously with ladies. Some of our musicians like Davido and Co. were students when they made videos dancing with half naked women. The women in those videos were probably students as well. How many of these people were expelled? This is not about being woke but about being realistic and logical. We can criticise her but the school has no business expelling a student cause of the she dances especially a public university like UNN where you have students from different backgrounds and cultures. The character aspect of the so-called oath probably exists to give the school the power to discipline erring students like the one who was caught on camera attacking a lecturer or those who dress in a certain way to school or those who antagonize fellow students in one way or the other. But with respect to general character policing, it's a wild goose chase; there's little to nothing the school can do about that. I'm sure we all know this. Here, I've answered this before: A Computer Scientist's Explanation |
Jeon:The invisible camera man. |
See how that young man above is boldly flaunting his perversion simply because he lives in a society where it's considered OK for one gender to be promiscuous. |
Lol... funny. But then, she just exercised her authority and that's it. She can't force Christianity into him. If anything, this will even make him more rebellious. It's not like there are no atheists in the poly. I don't really know why African parents prefer to veto when they should engage. If he decides to join a secret society in the poly, where will she send him to? The village? As an adult raised in a Christian home, he has got all the guidance he needs. It's time for him to make the conscious/personal decision to chose Christ. |
Hhmm... but how did you end up having fraudsters as the majority of your friends? Anyway, since you're too young to know the difference between right and wrong, just join them. |
The same reason blacks are excelling in American universities. As a woman in Africa, you don't have the male privilege, you have to be extra to be regarded in society. Otherwise, you'd end up as a property owned by some man. This alone is enough driving force. |
Lol... do these people even know you sign legal papers even in your white wedding? Or do they think deciding to sign the papers in court instead really makes a difference? You want a woman but you don't want to legally identify as her husband? You're asking for advantage? What is the advantage of traditional marriage? Please, enjoy yourselves. |
Panel for what exactly? She could be wrong on moral grounds, but how is that the school's business? Do they really want to start punishing adults for indecent activities? |
No contract/written agreement? No terms and conditions? No paper works? You just have someone N10m for publicity without setting clear expectations? How do people even do things? |
Davash222:It would have been better if they had fought each other after the debate? |
tchidi066:But he made it look like he was taking the same thing. Apparently, the girl didn't even know he was 'suffering'. I've always maintained that anyone offering to take someone out or invite someone for dinner/lunch should set expectations ahead of time especially if it's the first time. |
He's likely already cheating and she knows but can't get out cause of the associated shame. The man cheats, the woman bears the burden. La vie en Afrique |
Esseite:Just a little correction, 99.4% of accounts having less than $,1000 does not mean 99.4% of the citizens don't have up to $1,000. |
thatsleepboy1:Accepting other people's harmless lifestyles does not really make you less of a Christian. He does not believe in Allah but he let's Muslims live. The LGBTQ+ community isn't an exception. Live and let live. |
jaxxy:Nope, I never imagined you were the OP. If I did, I would have told you right away. I don't play mind games. I see you as someone interested in the conversation. And I'm engaging you hoping the OP is reading the chat. However, I don't really know if you're missing the point or delibrately trying to ignore it. I never insinuated his posts weren't genuine. Nobody could make up such stories and he's got links to back them up. I'm not against any religion. Where I live, people come from different backgrounds. So I know better than to antagonize any. Again, having more than one account is not a problem. I had two accounts in 2015 myself. The issue is the antics (similar to the one used by the Chinese government here on NL to change the COVID-19 narrative). When you use different accounts to source and post gloomy stories and then you use one to always "stumble" on these stories and tell people "hey see what I'm saying, bad things are now popping up everywhere", then you're playing mind games, and you can't blame anyone for being wary. I don't know if he's hiding or not (especially now that it has become obvious) and I don't know why he's adopting this approach. You also don't know that for sure except you know him in person. And that is why I didn't call him out like others do. That is why I went to him directly to ask his line of thought. I wanted to hear from him. Of course he's not obliged to answer but that does not invalidate my question or the curiosity of anyone who takes his messages seriously. WoundedLamb: |
jaxxy:I am glad you're at least making efforts to understand me, but I'm afraid you haven't. The deceit is not that his identity is anonymous. The deceit is also not his subject/message (though that's subject to debate). The deceit is him leading his audience to believe that these news are just popping up randomly and, therefore, prove his endtime message, while in fact, that's not true. He is the one plotting a scheme to orchestrate a narrative in order to support his message. His teachings are premised on the idea that bad thing's are suddenly happening all over the word. Now, this may or may not be true. But when he creates an account for the sole purpose of sourcing bad news and sharing them here only to switch to his more popular account and make it look like he stumbles upon the thread, then it's simply deceit. I've been here for about 10 years and if I suddenly started seeing threads about how the world is collapsing from different monikers, I'd be forced to take a stance which might not be the exact stance I'd take if I knew such threads came from a single individual. Influencing my belief by false pretense is deceit. This is not about the anonymity of the platform but about the authenticity of its contents. And while a good deal of what we read here might not be authentic, I asked him that question cause I wanted to know how a man of God feels about using numerous accounts to post similar things in order to sway public opinion in a certain direction. While the things he's posting may have happened, giving the idea that they they suddenly started popping up from different users is misleading cause that's not the case whatever be the intention. Even if you don't see his actions as misleading, I'd still like to know his own thought process. Like I said, if he were the one having this chat, then it wouldn't matter anymore. But you're saying what you think while I actually want to know what he thinks. |
jaxxy:Honestly, I think you're redefining deceit based on what you believe to be the intention of the individual in question. Deceit means to conceal or misrepresent the truth. And if the truth is that the OP and the person reacting are the same person, concealing it is deceitful even if it harmless or out of good intentions. His audience has the right to know that he's the one that goes out of his way to source these news in order for them to make a more informed decision. Like earlier agreed, he could react to his post like everyone else, but claiming to be a different person seems to be a deliberate attempt to make the news seem random whereas he's actually the one actively collating them. So yeah, I never for once thought it was a crime. That would be extreme cause it still wouldn't be a crime even if his posts were false. Nevertheless, selling the idea that he's a different person is, in itself, a false presentation, and like I said, that's deceitful regardless of the end goal. And it would seem the said end goal here is to instill fear by giving the impression that these are random pieces of news popping up here and there all over NL, and therefore proves his message of end time, while in fact, he's the one who consciously goes to look for them. This already makes his message questionable: are bad things really happening now unlike before or are we just hearing about them now cause someone just made it his duty to bring them to NL in order to sell a narrative? Indeed, this might be the end time, I just don't think one needs such schemes to prove that. Everything you've said would have perfect sense if you were the OP because by then, you would have at least accepted publicly that you're the same person and it wouldn't matter anymore if you had a million accounts. Get my point now? |
jaxxy:This is a very valid argument, but that's only because I didn't express myself clearly enough, and I take responsibility for the loopholes in my comment. Let me try again. The fact that he expressed shock is not really the issue (like you said, the OP could be shocked by the report too). In fact, it wouldn't be a big deal if he used the same account for both the original post and the reaction. The issue is the fact that he's bent on making it look like he's only reacting to some NL post shared by another user. Cautiously using one account to post and another to react in a bid to sell the impression that he's only reacting to the news of an impending doom shared by another user and thereby scoring points for his religious theories is rather bizarre. I find it bit awkward that he'd employ some shady tactics to spread the gospel. It sort of cast a shadow of doubt on his intentions. This is just an impression, and that's why I asked for his thought process. |
Righteousness2:Don't you consider it deceitful to create a post using one account and then switch to another to express shock? Just curious. |
sammybest889:Same old question, bro. What if computers don't exist, what would be the fate of programmers? What if cars don't exist, what would be the fate of roadside mechanics? What if planes don't exist, what would be the fate of pilots? We have jobs because these things exist and we'd simply be doing something else if they don't. It's human nature to adapt and there's nothing wrong in making it online. It's not any easier than those making it offline, otherwise the millions of internet users in Nigeria would have been celebrities. The Freeze guy was an OAP first before expanding his coverage using the internet. So if there was no social media, he'd likely still be an OAP and if there was no radio, he'd channel his energy into something else. Let's not make the mistake of thinking we're better than anyone cause their own means of making it is different from ours. |
Konquest:It's copied but thanks ![]() |
"So what is the cheap and best way for nigerians to get a US visa by investing? The Answer is still E-2 visa! Since Nigeria, does not have a E-2 treaty visa signed with United States, nigerians cannot apply for E-2 visas. But nigerians can apply for E-2 visas becoming a citizen of another country which has E-2 treaty with United States. Must have the citizenship of a treaty country to apply. Nigerian constitution allows dual citizenship, so it is not illegal for nigerians to become a national of more than one country. Grenada offers citizenship to Nigerian investors who can afford $150,000. These are the only citizenship by investment schemes with E-2 visa option. All the ot are quite expensive! Grenada – $150,000 (donation) or $220,000 (real estate) Montenegro – $400,000 (real estate + donation) Turkey – $250,000 (real estate) We highly recommend Grenada passport as it offers visa free travel to United Kingdom, Europe Schengen area, China, Russia and over 140 countries. Once citizenship is obtained and desired investments are made, an appointment is necessary at the US embassy in Nigeria. The US embassy in Lagos takes just 74 calendar days to process this visa and there is a $205 visa fee. This is so much faster than waiting for years after making half a million investment" |
^ Only God knows what everybody does in the closet. |
Lol... if this was a Nigerian lady, the only thing you'd be reading here is "is it everything these people will put on the internet?! Yeyebrities and attention seeking!!!". Congrats to him |
Lol... Why are bloggers still flogging this? The two settled the issue almost immediately after it broke out. |
