And anyone who doesn't want to do this would be going against "our culture". The plight of a woman. |
JidennaJason:A comment perfectly laced with tribalism and sexism; such creativity. Whenever women fight, you guys automatically assume it's cause of a man. These are married women who once lived together at a certain point in their lives. It's more logical to assume something must have gone wrong when they were sharing a space that eventually led to the bad blood. Someone like you would be the first to carry placards when the police profiles you cause of your dressing, hairstyle or any other thing. But you'd gladly conclude someone you don't know is a LovePeddler cause she's a Yorubawood actress. |
Nice. |
Flamemignon1:Oh... I see. Well, I'm bilingual myself and your username sounds French to me (though the construct would be considered ungrammatical). Let's just say my curiosity got the best of me. ![]() |
Flamemignon1:Do you speak French? |
Happy for him. |
Lol... when I saw "new military leader...", the first thing that came to my mind was coup d'etat. |
Congratulations! Please, take care of each other. |
Franklinshaddy:The insult ain't necessary, dude. |
etrange:I think you are looking at the chat alone. In that case, I'd partially agree with this. Except there were other things that led to the OP's reaction, telling her how she doesn't care about you cause she asked for some call credit makes it look like it's a crime for people to ask their partners for stuff. But then again, the OP's reaction shows the request came at the wrong time cause he was (maybe still is, lol) broke and that was probably the source of his anger. Of course, I wouldn't have responded that. I would have told her I didn't have and then let her reaction détermine the next line of action. However, from the chat, you can tell it was an over the counter kind of relationship. The way they "talked" to each other shows the two were in for benefits and nothing more. |
Can't remember the last time I actually wrote up to a paragraph POP. I wonder what my handwriting would be like now. Terrible, I guess. |
People still write? I wonder what my handwriting would be like. Terrible, I guess. |
Tranquility4u:Is it mandatory in the country? |
bigeliot:Is it compulsory in Nigeria? Just asking. |
illicit:It's fun. People laugh and feel good. That's just enough. Though it's fine if such bizarre outfits don't make you laugh. Different strokes for different folks. |
doxijaw:I've made my stance known in the post you quoted. The burden is on you to prove me wrong. That's assuming you have more to say other than singing your own ode and wallowing in your self agrandissement. I know a worthy debater when I see one and so far, you've not said anything that slightly suggests you're one. Personal attacks and insults are enough fallacies to indicate you're a time waster. I'm only entertaining myself with this chat cause I'm on a road trip and the distraction is very much needed. |
doxijaw:I'm not the one at risk. I don't owe you any explanation regarding my identity and you're certainly not in any position to discuss my origin. I only corrected a wrong assertion. The thread is about gay people and my comment you quoted posits that it's wrong to criminalize homosexuality. So far, you've not been able to come up with any counter logic except insults. Not like I was expecting more anyway. |
doxijaw:Well, I don't know about the jews and co. Again, I didn't go to the West, my parents did. You probably need to stop assuming things about people you don't know. The fact that you think sexuality is all about sex and that certain lives are worth fighting for while other aren't shows you're broaching a subject you're not familiar with; the ridiculousness of it all. |
doxijaw:My parents are Africans, not me. I certainly don't live in poverty, I don't know about you. Having said that, sexuality is not a culture. It is a key component of human diversity and it has been there long before the coming of the white man to Africa. You certainly have people around who are gay but living fake lives cause you're not smart enough to know that their sexuality does not change who they are... the misery. |
LikeAking:All this your argument and criticism, why not let each person follow their path the way it suits them? You know how money works more than her father? Oxford/Havard degrees, in addition to whatever knowledge they offer, give one the chance to network with a certain class of people while in school. Even in the westerners world, some school names on your resumé get you the attention you need and the opportunity to showcase whatever skills you have. Many people have had the opportunity to leave Nigeria cause their Master's degrees were considered in the point-based immigration system. Some people haven't moved forward despite all their degrees but that doesn't mean higher level formal education hasn't worked for others. You shouldn't discourage people from following their path or criticize them for approaching life differently. |
The rate of domestic violence in Nigeria is getting higher everyday and in most cases, it's against women. Yet our men are more interested in creating threads on NL to insult/bash the opposite gender. |
Good! |
How has the the relationship between these two consenting adults hurt anyone? You're arresting them cause you feel they must be attracted to what you're attracted to? Natural or not, criminalization of homosexuality is based on hate and nothing more. Someone on the front page said it's not natural cause there aren't gay animals, yet there are so many gay animals out there. And the moment you point this out to him, he'd tell you we aren't animals forgetting he was the one that brought animals into the chat. Gay people are just the minority. They've been there from the beginning of time and there'll continue to exist. The idea that the more than 6 billion people on earth were born straight is very unnatural and outrightly impossible cause no aspect of nature maintains that level of consistency, not even day and night! #SayNoToHomophobia |
Spy360:And yet when the government said you shouldn't protest, all of you took to the streets with placards. ![]() |
A trip against all odds. ISIS said they'd go to Rome but Rome decided to go to ISIS... despite the pandemic. Nice one. |
OP, what occasion was this and when? Meanwhile, when she turned around to ask, "faculty, what decision would you have made?", the guy behind must have been like "oh no, not me!". |
Lol... I'll go with the second wife. The first wife is the kind most Nigerian men are looking for, robotically obedient (conveniently termed "respectful" ) forgetting that such people are more dependent, less industrious and less contributive. Meanwhile, while judging the wives, we forgot to notice that the husband is not a nice man. In fact, this story summarizes the situation of things in Africa. ![]() |
That's a very big one! Meanwhile...

Mrshape:@bolded: lol... African men their excessive desire for a godly status. As for me, I wouldn't like to make it anyone's task or even a workflow (like yours where it arrives on your table after wifie's failed attempts); it's my home and not an office with SOP's. I'd let anyone available do that. If I see anyone I can't solve I'd either claim to be busy and ask them to go to wifie or ask them to come back later and then quietly ask wifie to help. I'd expect her to do the same if she finds anyone too hard to solve. |
Whomsoever that uploaded the picture. |
Walkee:Your first sentence shows you're in denial mode cause we aren't new on Nairaland. You only say what makes you win an argument and not facts. Otherwise, there's no way you can possibly know those women bashers are teenagers. The one I quoted yesterday was a man in his forties (I know cause I saw his profile picture and other posts he made in the business section). Your last sentence shows you aren't any different from the people you call teenagers. You can't have a logical discussion without descending low into the dirty mud you boys are known for onhere. I don't know how to chat with people like you. Enjoy your day, sir. I |
Heavance:A tortoise is a terrestrial turtle. All tortoises are turtles but not all turtles are tortoises (cause the aquatic ones aren't). In other words, tortoises are turtles that dwell on land. In America, a land dwelling turtle are hardly ever called a tortoise, we just say "turtle" for all of them. In England, land dwelling turtles are distinctively called tortoises. But biologically, it's the same animal with each having features that allow it adapt and its habitat (like many aquatic ones having "pads" while the terrestrial ones [tortoises] have toes). What the guy has is a turtle and also a tortoise since it's terrestrial. |
