You mistake the value of country currency to greatness. Kuwait dinner is 3 times $$ and that does not make Kuwait great either. Nigeria can decide to make Naira higher than $$ but the consequences will be out of this world. Dididrumz: |
Lol.. I don't go to meeting any longer but my life is still tailored to witness doctrines. You are right, it's the truth. chatinent: |
Let me paint the picture for you. I failed in SS 1 and was asked to repeat the class cos I had only one credit. The flowing year, I had 6 A's and the rest B's. For the very first time, I believed in myself as a little kid and that changed my life for real justli: |
It all started during my Baptism period. I finished all my study, ready for it and even told my parents who was not witness then only to be told I was not ready by the family that help with my studies. It hurt cos I can see people I was better than getting baptized and I felt it happen cos my parents was not a witness and gradually, I just keep losing interest. I tried to start going to meeting when I left Naija but could not keep up. The boat has sailed. Narijoel: |
Jehovah witness save my life. Growing up in Bariga in late 90's with all the craziness then, I don't think I would have made it out of the hell hole cos most of my friends did not made it alive, and those we made it, did not even finish secondary school not to talk of going to University. Their emphasis on reading turns me from E students to straight A student and I broke the Curse in my street the to be the first to attend Unilag. I am no longer a witness but most of their teaching is still with me. Hotzone: |
I was a student of Unilag and also have the opportunity to school abroad and the difference is not that much. I had never sit on the floor for a lecture in Unilag and there are some classroom/ multi-purpose hall with A/C that I had taken exams and lectures. All lecture rooms in my school abroad had A/C which is standard and nice chairs but when you compare how much you pay to study in Unilag and abroad, you will understand Unilag does not have a long way to go to catch up with lots of Universities in so called UK and US CAPSLOCKED: |
What do you suggest? Open and let the death toll keep climbing? Ask Brazil that stays open how better they fair. rman: |
Stop being emotional. Every company sack when there is low revenue. They are business and not charity organization. Jokerman: |
I know cos I am not in Nigeria and I pay rent, gas, insurance etc. Government coming to rescue if Nigeria in diaspora is the minimum. martineverest: |
You missed my point? What has Nigerian government done for average Nigerians in this period of disaster? At least, American government hand money to people who qualify. Nigerian government can pay for returnee flight ticket and hotel martineverest: |
You took it out of my mouth. Average Nigerians can't be please.. Government do, you complain, government does not do and you still complain. We must be the must difficult people on the surface of earth chocolatelady: |
How do you know American government charged their citizens evacuation fee? The same American government pays every adult citizens $1200 including foreign national who are in their country legally. Nigerian government has yet to pay citizens money and little kind gesture like this, people like you call it waste of money. Guess the type of government we have in Nigeria fit people like you... seunmsg: |
Please do not sound like an ignorant. The $$ giving by American government is to boast the purchasing power of the people thereby stimulating the economy. Various States government in US still continue feeding student who qualify for free lunch by providing various locations where such students can get their meals. You sound like you get paid by the government... quote author=Doyin2 post=89685891]We the silent majority know. Let the very noisy minority continue to wail all over social media. Palliatives come in different forms across the world. USA is giving raw cash running into trillions of Just to reach households via the school feeding programme, misguided elements are wailing. What Nigeria is doing is far more productive than doling out cash. More Farmers and food vendors would be productively engaged. Even transporters of food items . How about manufacturers of packaging materials? The list is endless,a direct effect on GDP.[/quote] |
China showed the rest of the world how post Covid19 will be. Asked your workers to resume, them fire them all cos of slow in demand for your goods and services. Getting the economy back to where it was before Covid19 will be a real challenge for every country and a battle for African nation.. |
I disagreed. Wish Trump has done same then 90,000 Americans will not be dead by now. The virus can only be contained with total locked down at initial stage and China has shown everybody. US and UK are examples of countries which follow different route and their body count is thru the roof.. BranddesignerH: |
Says who? Worked warehouse, start.my associate degree, left the job, get a good job with benefits and start my own company. Not everyone can stand the sight of what goes on in group home. sonnie10: |
I remembered while in secondary school and needs money to buy books and other stuff. Bricklayer's help was the deal. The jobs make you feel like you wanna die. Hard labour indeed. then left Naija after graduating only to end up in the warehouse cos I don't wanna work in group home. Every time I remember those days, I just dey give God million thanks |
Nothing is absolutely wrong with you. Some people just do not like blood. I remembered when I move out, I was told nursing makes money but I told my uncle I will be the last dude to be a nurse cos the sight of blood will make me pass out. I am glad I stood my ground then cos I would have being the worst nurse to ever walk on this planet. |
Nicca.... You made my day with your quote Mstick: |
I get your Pm and I did replied twice but kind of bouncing back. I will hit you on whatsapp today. excanny: |
Government ain't charity or have unlimited resources. It's not government job to grant people alternative place of abode or to cushion the effect of a rental property of the owner. The owner is in the business of making money and like all business people, he/she should pay for the services like inspection, demotion of his business which happens to be the building. Average Nigerians want everything free from the government while paying little or no tax but quick to compare Nigeria with advance countries where you pay taxes on everything. amalab30: |
Yes. It's not about God help employees but both employees and employers are hurting at the same time. This is difficult times and we all need God cos we are yet to see the real effect of the virus. Demand going to fall and there goes the job. With 30 millions unemployed in America in just 8 weeks, this is worse then great depression and more jobs is about to be lost due to low demand when everybody resume work. OOSmilling: |
Please look up Majeure clause and you see company or cooperation can't be help liable for contractual agreement in time of natural disasters like this. I am not making excuses for them but just pointing it out to you. ooohoo: |
You are right but in times of emergencies like natural disasters, etc, laws do not count much. JCPENNEY went under and stopped paying wages the first week of locked down. Coca-Cola lay off some staff right from the start of locked down cos demand is largely affected. I am not making excuses for the company but being he is a new staff, you are the first to let go when company fall into difficult times. You can sue them but I doubt you going to win cos the lay off is not their fault either and they have little option. Companies are into business of making money and the moment they ain't making it, all hell is lose. ooohoo: |
When there is life, there is hope. Glad you let it go. Now is the time to pick your piece and start looking forward. I know it easier said than done but I had been in similar position in life. I was deported in 2007, lost my student status in Unilag cos I was away and my life looks like it's going to end but with God and mum and grandma, went back to Unilag as a jambite, graduate and move on with my life. The funny part was I was matriculating while my mate was graduating... It was crazy southniyikaye: |
Hey. You mind talking and sharing business ideas? I am not looking for handout or any of those stuff. Just business ideas and see what comes out of it. I will try to PM but only informing you cos I don't want to come out rude..Thanks excanny: |
I guess you assume he is fulfilled. First, good amenities is overhyped. I used to live in Chicago and I can tell you their are as many bad roads in inner city of Chicago like their are bad roads in Lagos. The only difference is they patch it while we let ours goes from bad to worse. Second, you pay for internet and the moment you can't afford it, you get cut off just like you pay for internet in Lagos. Their millions of American families who can not afford internet at home and they don't have it. I have no health care for 5 years until I was able to go to school, get a better job before I get a job which offer health insurance. Millions of Americans are without health insurance and are one illness away from bankruptcy.... UK, US, Italy and most advanced countries are dream comes true but does not worth dying in dessert trying.. My 2 cents Luvdmx: |
My point exactly. Why risk you life for something that ordinary taxi driver are doing in Lagos. Don't get me wrong, I love to travel and I enjoy living outside of Nigeria but it does not worth the risk of going to near death experience. fykes: |
Hey. Do you still have available land? If yes then I am interested. Hit me up with pictures and we go from there. Thanks Akogu001: |
Hello. Is the property still available? If your then I am interested. Need pic and we go from there.. Thanks. Babsyilu2020: |
