Charmingrascal: Lol
Infact generally Nigeria employers are so heartless and irresponsible. They want staffers to do their work perfectly but once it is getting to the end of the month that they will pay salary, they will start acting weird, they will start giving negative attitude, they will be looking for every opportunity to complain about staffers. Nigeria Labour congress and TUC are just selfish and greedy set of people who don't really fight for labourers/workers but their own selfish interest. Another thing is year of experience, how do you expect a fresh graduate to have 3 years experience in a certain field which is not even a professional field. Ordinary Supermarket owner will be asking a fresh graduate for 4 years experience for sales representative job.
Above all you can't make it working for someone, if you have a little capital start your own business no matter how small the amount you are making daily, you will have peace of mind. It is good to start your own business. You'll start experiencing what the employers are experiencing. |

See, the security agencies have more experience than you. They know that undeclared monies in 99% of the cases are related to illegal activities. And their action is justified. Even, if they are not criminals, they already have a criminal mindset. The father is already teaching the children how to lie to security agencies. It is good as they have been taught a hard lesson even if the money is legal. |

Faiththatworks: I have a lot of reservation about Nigeria Debt profile. Although it's good for anyone to collect debt, but we must never get to the point where we are unable to repay, seriously if debt was a bad thing, all the loan app companies in Nigeria would have folded up a long time ago. Back to my analysis about Nigeria Debt,I daresay Nigeria has stopped servicing her debt for more than 4 years. A quick analysis of Nigeria's budget 2024 shows a very disturbing trend, the Nigeria govt is actually borrowing 8 trillion naira which it calls revenue, and in another breath, there's provisions for servicing our foreign debt which is another 8 trillion in the same Budget, this should be really alarming to every patriotic Nigerian. We borrow 8.75 trillion to pay back 8.6 trillion in the same Budget circle,I believe Buhari government started this abnormally and Asiwaju must stop and break this crazy circle,it means Nigeria will only earn 150 billion in real revenue from borrowing this year,if you deduct the debt borrowing and repayment. That's why I will keep on talking about the Dangote Refinery, that behemoth hold the key to reducing our foreign currency flight, Nigeria needs to keep every dollar it earns within the country. I throw around a little figure so we can understand the power that behemoth will unleash from Next year. A ship with 950000 barrels of crude oil At a cost of 70$ per barrel, with an exchange rate of 950 naira will give you 63 billion naira worth of crude oil berthed yesterday at the Lekki Sea port. The crude oil will be refined today when the Behemoth roars to Life, that figure alone should tell you the amount of savings we will have when it's in full operation. Seriously if Nigeria is to ever get out of this debt trap, then we need to start from making the Refinery work. That's why any wise Investor must have something around the Refinery. Still selling LAND around Ibeju-lekki close to the Refinery. https://www.nairaland.com/7926530/christmas-end-year-promo-silvergate#127237817 God bless Nigeria..... But everyone is still abusing Emefiele for giving Dangote refinery priority dollar availability. |

Kukutente23: You're simply confused Go and read the body of the Op NJC says they are the one with powers to discipline judges while it's clear from section a that State assemblies can recommend such to the gov. That's the premise I'm asking why they are flouting a clear provision of the constitution while a president unilaterally suspended a CJ which he has no right to and they kept mute then. You are obviously confused. The NJC has disciplinary powers over judicial officers. It is enshrined in the constitution. So what are you yapping about?? Are you insinuating you did not read and understand the attachment you posted by yourself? The constitution has equally vested similar powers on the National Assembly over Federal Judicial Officers and the State House of Assembly over State Judicial Officers. This does not in any way remove or limit the power of the NJC. In the exercise of these powers, both the Legislature and the NJC, are still required to send their recommendation to the President or Governor as the case may be. |

If NJC is acting above the law, who then will respect the judgement coming from their courts? Same NJC was mute when a sitting CJN was suspended Read what you posted again. Read your attachment. There you have answers. The constitution that empowers 2/3rd of the State House of Assembly equally empowers the NJC to make recommendation for removal. What you posted clearly stated that the NJC can recommend the removal of a Judge to the governor. So what are you confused about? Why are you saying the NJC is actiing above the law?? |

Ogene001: "Ashawo' is igbo rendering of "Ashewo'. Don't bring your Lagos madness here. Every ethnic language and expressions contributed to pidgin and everybody uses them without knowing the origin
Hausa words in pidgin include wahala, wayo, berekete, Hausa expressions include: E don do (it's enough). This is literary translation of "Ya yi"
Igbo words in pidgin include tey, una etc Igbo expressions include , think say, know say, hear say etc these are wrong literary translation verbatim from Igbo to English Think say = chere si Know say = Mara si Talk say = kwuru si Many other examples
Now the igbo word unu (you plural) was corrupted to "una by another tribe probably south south tribes before it entered pidgin. Jamaican pidgin still use "unu" which is the correct igbo. This was exactly how a Yoruba word Ashewo was corrupted to Ashawo by Igbos before it entered Pidgin What of yansh? Lol Which language did it come from?? I also noticed that South Africans use similar word but with a little difference. They call theirs 'nyansh' |

SoNature: If the judiciary has to recommend to the executive to fire one of their own, then they are far from independence.
Who wrote the Nigerian constitution? Does the legislature need the approval of the president to elect a senate president? This doesn't make sense. The judiciary should lobby the legislature to make independent laws for them. Yes, the President/Governor must proclaim the National/State assembly before the 1st Senate president/Speaker is elected for a new Legislative term. That is the way the government is put together in a democratic system. No arm is to have 100% independence as it will bring about abuse of power. Each arm is to check and guide the actions of the other. |

Thebadpolitican: Read this
The history of oromiyan in Benin was formed and forged in the old western region to intergret the Benins and the oba as yorubas even to the extent of giving him the second position and displacing the alafin who was originally the second after the ooni of Ife although tho the oba of Benin accepted this offer at first but things didn't go as planned the other yoruba monarchs and together with the alafin of oyo was not happy with this new arrangement that the oba of Benin who is second after the ooni of Ife can't even speak yoruba language and so many other complains ensued from there, again the oba of Benin had a fall out with awolowo and other benin political aspirants and as a result pulling out of western region became thinkable and as soon as Midwestern region was created the oba of benin refuted the false history and the yorubas kings fired back and soon after the oba of Benin forged a counter history of ekaladeran and since then the history that started on falsehood became held seriously by many people who are unaware Either ways, they seem to have a connection in history. The Benin crown most especially and the yorubas. The interesting thing to note here is that it seems it is the Benin Crown itself that has a strong tie to the Yorubas and not the entirety of the Edo people. |

Thebadpolitican: It is called omo noba
Simple meaning it means king
Deeper meanimg
It means omo noba ( the child that shines for the edo people) that is the actual title not just oba The child can mean anybody. Even outsiders that came in and shines for the Edo people. Omo in Yoruba is child. Omo oba, is Child of King. This title cements the history that indeed, an Ife Prince came and was installed to preside over the affairs of the Edo people. Who knows? Sometimes internal wrangling among families can be so severe that the opposing sides will prefer a neutral person to be chosen to preside. The Ife Prince ruling in Edo does not in anyway mean he founded Edo. |

sunboy: I disagree sir!
While Ashewo is Yoruba word. Ashawo is a broken English word, that was borrowed from Ashewo.
Ibos choose that word from the broken side of things. Yes broken English popularize Ashawo as the preferred word for prostitution. And broken English is not specific to Ibos, it’s spoken across west Africa. Even my Liberian and Sierra Leon friends use Ashawo without knowing its origin but know that it means prostitute.
Ire o! With due respect, this is not making sense compared to the former submission you responded to. How can you say "Ashawo' is a broken English word?? This should only be suggested by people without any knowledge of english and the origin of the word. Can any English word be broken into Ashawo? Even the English man will wonder in confusion how an unknown word is said to be broken English. Is simply a broken yoruba word infused into the spoken broken English. |

Ogene001: Some borrow a word they have before and after sometimes the borrowed word become more popular. I'm not applying it to Ife/Benin wahala oo For example. In Igbo language Prostitute = Akwuna But yoruba word Ashewo which is pronounce as Ashawo in igbo accent is more popular. Even Flavor's song "Ashawo' was a hit Neckpresser101: Not necessarily true
For example
I can say "
That's your mom over there ọkwa ya?
But I always prefer saying
That's your mom over there abi?
Abi is Yoruba word and ọkwa ya is igbo word for same thing 'right'
It's just convinience
I have seen Yorubas saying Biko alot that doesn't mean they don't have a word for 'please' It's just convnience.
Again I might be wrong one thing I'm sure tho is oduduwa can not fall from the sky who knows Binis might be right saying he's Thier son . Binis might be wrong too sha who knows The whole Nigeria is using 'wahala' now. Including the Lebanese Nigerians too, always saying 'no wahala'. Wahala is from which language please?? |
