The governor, his aide-de-camp and chief security officer, who were also in the plane that took off from Jalingo, the Taraba State capital, and three others, were seriously injured. Mr Suntai, who graduated as a pilot from the Aviation College in Zaria last year, was piloting the crashed plane. This would be the second time he is surviving a plane crash A statement from the Ministry of Aviation said the aircraft had six persons, including the crew on board when it crashed. If i get the bolded clearly, the governor actually ![]() |
sunshine out!!! |
that was... almost a goal against sunshine. |
I would have placed my money on sunshine if all they need is a draw, their play is by far better than the S Eagles. |
...sunshine is getting their own share of play...but running into offside |
...still formulating my opinion about this, but can someone help me here? What's in this for Achebe to gain? |
The clash of the two teams will be more of an ego soaked 90 minutes than a game of football. Let the best team win! |
...surprised more people take this story to be true. If you are all judges, I guess you would just give your judgement of the prosecutor's charge without even taking a plea from the accused. |
I smell Photoshop... |
@ OP, I am also sometimes pressed to put every little detail of life on social media, but I have found out at those moments that there are a lot of other tools that can solve my issues. In this case you could have made use of a calculator, every chinko phone too now has one to solve this issue and save us all the pain of reading this and joining in calling your uncle dump or dumb. |
The writer of this piece to me made only one mistake, which is to circulate this write up at a time that Nigerians are still overwehlmed by emotions. A man detached from his emotions will see the complex interpretation of the writer's mind. All the writer is saying is that instead of the Aluu community pouring their anger on poor helpless boys, they should have used the same energy to demand accountability from people who were suppose to provide security for them from the murdered kids if indeed they were thieves or cultists. The writer is even more correct by adequately predicting that many more Nigerians habor the same level of anger, there have been comments of people here suggesting that the whole community of Aluu should be wiped out irrespective of how many innocent people are there. The message of the writer is clear to me, misplaced aggression is worse than sucide. |
...suppose a good decision is made everytime a nairalander calls another a fool, Nigeria would have become better than the US and europe put together. I see the cup of the budget half full till the finer details of the recurrent expendicture is released by the finance ministry. |
Nigerians are a set of people who can write or at best type but cannot read. I just wonder how many of the respondents here borthered to read the piece and some of the comments before posting. I quite agree with the OP that Nigerians have become angered and hungry by their day to day experiences, you need to find yourself in traffic jams and see how we yell and shout at each other. Thank God of recent the anger in our elected representatitives no longer resulted in exchange of fists on the floor of their house of assembilies. Need I talk about the bitterness and anger that even nairalanders exibit to each other on faceless platforms such as this. But greater and more damage lies in the fact that as a nation we still do not know where to direct our anger. We are oppressed by the political class, by people in a places of authority and most times we cannot return our anger to the people who stirred it but we place them on those we can lord it over. The Aluu4 were at the receiving end of people who are worse than animals. Worse because it would have been better for then to punch the air or go on hunger strike than lift a finger at those kids even if they were guilty of genocide. We are angry and oppersed but how many times have internalized this anger and turn it to action by demanding accountabiltity from our elected representatives or people in places of authority. We are all cowards and I am included. We only vent our anger on people who are helpless and they in turn do it to people under them. Anger is an emotion that cannot be bottled but expressing it like the primitive and barbaric Aluu community is the only way our lives degenerated to this level and worse still has kept is sliding further. |
...this is why most of you fail exams, you have been told severally that your beloved first lady and perm sec without a ministry is on a well deserved rest and you are here praying for her recovery from ailments that exists only in the minds of a few of you. one the bright side, I am intrested if there is a plan to send a delegation to visit her in Germany, or a select group of annointed men of God who will be willing to visit and pray with her. Shebi Turai did all these for our fomer president, GEJ should know that there is a standard procedure for handling this type of situation that he cannot deviate from. This issue as sensitive as it is, is also very funny. a yoruba adage states, if you are flogged with 6 big canes in a room and you come out to say it is only one, na your problem be that o. |
...ain't some of us really silly for voting GEJ and not PDP? |
chinedum45: If and only if we learn to be patriotic will our country be great...mockery and derogatory statements against our leaders are HIGH LEVEL OF UNPATRIOTISM....seriously, did you really mean those words you typed? while I personally do not like calling mr president different names but his actions and inactions most of the time potrays him as someone even worse than the names he is been called. we are not saying he should solve all the problems in one day, in fact I am not even saying he should solve any old problem, he shouuld for God's sake he should stop creating more problems for the country. |
@ Primegold, I think you need to be more civil in the way you respond to your customers. you know what they say about customers been always right. Do not forget that a comment from anyone means they have considered the options of buying the product and nice words could convince them more. People are usually at first skeptical about new technologies...my dad told me like 7 or 8years ago that he can never use a flash drive. i know he is more informed now. Please, take this as my advise, wishing you all the best. |
@all, We will keep pushing the frontiers of FTA here in this forum no matter how many people jump ship. Indeed, they were originally not of us else they would have remained. Peeps come here for different reasons. Some come to seek attention. Others come to market their wares - nay their websites. Still others come to glean whatever little tidbits of FTA info they can garner. Over the course of time they get tired of their own pettiness. They get frustrated when they realise that their ultimate reason for coming here cannot be gratifed and they leave the same way they came - without a puff, without so much as a wisper. Life does not consist of what you can get from others but rather what good you can give to society. We as a people are made of stuff that do endure. We will continue to plod the narrow, uncertain path that leads to freedom. The freedom to track signals, the freedom to explore new technology for the common good. That is who we are! That is what we are here for!!! VIVA FTA!!!!
Oga George and all, The spirit of FTA will not die, Generations will come and go but the spirit lives on... |
berem: A whole national carrier won't fly again? NIGERIA IS DOOMED!!!I think the national carrier is Arik, all the same it is a huge disgrace if this is true. |
Laws like these are pathetic to say the least. Is this the work Aregbesola is giving to youths in his empowerment scheme? The big issue I will have with this law if true is who determines what is immoral? The enforcement agency, the government or the people? If I sag my trousers and I drop out of a Range Rover Sports, will I be accused of immoral dressing? Or will basket month and his dreeds be thrown into prison? For me, apart from the fact that it is not the business of the government to enforce or curb immorality, the law will be too subjective and abuse will be inevitable. |
I think I understand Nigerians' pessimisms, it will be difficult for a man with palm oil all over his mouth, clothes and hands to convince others he's been fasting. |
This tops the list of the most ridiculous news items that i have ever heard. Even more ridiculous than the news of that our perm sec. I work in an organisation where over 300 contract staffs wear RED T shirts, will they all stay off work today? I honestly suspect the free SMS that MTN is daily loading people with. Just the work of mischeif makers and the ever gullible |
vanunu: The reason why we are not performing is because we don't have school sports anymore. With school sports, you get the best sports men and women at a tender age. People like kanu, Mobi Chidi Imo Ajunwa, Rufina Uba, F Ogunkoya etc. all started from school sport.I am very pleased with your comment. When I was in secondary school, there were 3 sports that I took special interest in; crickets, but only my school played it in Ibadan and two more from Lagos, Gbobi and Kings' college. I also liked the game of hockey and my favourite was squash but I saw only once two of my teachers playing it to pass time. Now my theories, I would have followed a career in one of the sports suppose there were better facilities and a conducive atmosphere to practice. Now as an engineer with a with a multinational company, I am only very good at explaining the game of cricket to my colleagues anytime the game is showed on the tv in our canteen. Nigeria started attending the olympics since mid 1950s we have won only 23medals, Michael Phelps has only been to less than four Olympics but with 21medals. After his success in the last olympics, he said he used to swim for 10 to 12hours everyday. Where will you get that swimming pool in Nigeria, go to Liberty stadium in Ibadan there is even no water in the pool, only the hotels have pools that are maintained. Our inputs will determine our output, if there are poor facilities, there will be poor results. Even if we all leave our jobs and start doing sports, we will come off worse if there are no proper planning, organisation and administration, enough of the noise our leaders make, let them demonstrate that they really care about their people. What will it cost each local government to have at least a sports' facility well equipped, well funded and with good trainers? |
I was totally convinced within the third set that Murray wasn't playing the RF that I know, it was just too obvious. Any day, Nadal is my man...the king of clay. |
...so many Nigerians who can write but cannot read. It shouldn't take a 5year kid some few seconds to know that was some expensive joke. I am only surprised at those who kept shouting respect the president's privacy. They are public office holders, so everything they do will and should be discussed in the open. I however object to calling them unprintable names. The former French president's wife divorced him because she couldn't stand the heat turned on her by the public and the press. Once any public officer or celebrity does not want his or her affairs in the open, he or she is free to quit. |
OBJ, ever since you dropped your grammy award winning single 'I dey laugh' we've all been having good laughs, |
While I am not at ease with people who call GEJ clueless and a retardeen, it however always beat my imagination how team GEJ is steering the ship of our nation. Firstly, after all the noise about the cabal in the oil industry has been made by the civil rights organisation and the national assembly, the federal government is just about now prosecuting them even when it is common knowledge that the FG knew about them before the subsidy rallies. Secondly, the calibre of the people involved is a burden of accomplice on GEJ. Tukur, PDP national chairman, Ali, aspiring PDP BOT chairman, Arisekola Alao, a member of whoever is in government party. Why has the PDP chairman not been asked to step aside since he could be an accomplice or use his office to impede prosecution? Same for Ali. Thirdly, with many names coming from the PDP party, wouldn't it be logical to say that PDP might have benefited and used the loot to do business? And what business is the PDP known for if not winning or rigging elections? Lastly, we have seen how cases of corruption have turned out in this country especially when the accused are from the umberalla party. Will this be any different. Saharareporters did not tell us a tale from the moon, this is glaringly clear to whoever cares. |
I had a different opinion on PTB's sermon until I read through the full text. I wish that all respondents read before commenting but since we have many people who can write but a few that can read in Nigeria, it might take forever for my wish to be granted. |
@ OP, Which one is more critical for you, having a baby with an imperfect woman or getting married to an imperfect lady? I really do not know what you are looking for since you know human beings are imperfect. You like the title of a father and want to dodge the responsibilities of a married man. Even ordinary friendship requires some tolerance. |
The direct opposite of a wise man will blame everybody else apart from himself for his failures. |
GEJ to contest MAULAG SUG elections. |
...what you do in darkness will be seen in lightness! |
