I saw this post on Facebook and it makes me question myself asking what "Nigerian men want". It irks me so bad.

Women have been debased to NOTHING that a chore has become a yardstick in choosing a wife. I keep asking myself if God did not make a mistake to have given the headship to them from the beginning.

And now, I'll reiterate this here. I also don't care about the reactions it brings. It's not my business how you feel but I must say this to men- DO NOT SET UNNECESSARY STANDARDS THAT YOU WON'T MEET. Read that again. Would he have washed the girl's father's or mother's clothes if turns were switched? NO. Many men here won't either. It degrades them after all. ONLY women should cower and wash g-pee tanks because they want to marry. Marriage only favours the women after all. It's the women who do these things I blame. You don't rate yourselves.

If you try this with me, I'll FAIL your test woefully. It is the audacity to make this a post for me. They make marriage seem so unpalatable and dramatic.

Manners should tell you that you do not sweep when a guest is around. It is ABSOLUTELY rude and that shows that you do not even respect me enough to have kept your abode neat before my arrival. And that to me, is a RED FLAG!

It also tells me that "I am not welcome in your abode". I am immensely glad that the girl in the story dodged a bullet. Good riddance.

I know you feel betrayed, but come to think about it, why does it bother you who your wife confides in or not? Most women gossip to their friends and family and it’s not a big deal. Getting married will not make them stop that habit overnight. You can’t expect to become her confidant because you married her a year ago, when she has know these people all her life.

A woman only complains if she is being treated badly.

I don’t know what she tells them by are any of them lies??

The way you mentioned her joblessness, I think you are more worried about the fact that she talks about your financial capacity. But why is that even a problem? Do you want her to lie and say you provide the things you don’t?

She may not be working and contributing financially, but you calling her “jobless” is very unfair. How do you expect her to be happy when you belittle her every chance you get just because she doesn’t have a job.

You should concentrate on making her happy so she will stop complaining to her family members about you. That’s the only solution!!

To be honest, arguments like this are usually fraught with sentiments.

It is true that age isn't the friendliest to women...

It is wise to know this for a fact and make hay while the sun shines.

Making hay could mean different things to different women. We all do not have the same priorities.

Defining what is most important to you will inform how you use your time.

Rather than try to live in denial of facts, the important message should be helping women understand what self-worth means.

Helping them define their purpose in life early enough.

These two things (self-worth and an understanding of purpose) underlie everything that makes a woman's life much more meaningful.

So sometimes last year a female friend of mind came to stay in our apartment me and my guy for a while because of accommodation issues,during that period they started having unprotected sex which i warn my guy to be careful to avoid story that touch.
Around june she move out of our apartment since then we are always keeping in touch via chat and calls,just today she told me that she is pregnant for my guy and she will soon put to bed by first week of February..
She warn me not tell to my guy about it no matter what and i promised her to do so.

The main issue now is that should i let my best friend know about it or i should keep quiet,what if he found out later that he has a baby with her and i have been keeping such secret from him, won't it affect our relationship?mind you,this is a guy we went to the same university together,we do most things together and also presently doing our nysc in the same organisation together

It's a western thingy. I have this girl that was tripping for me one time, and I like her as well, but the turn off was when she talked about her dislike for kids. Not wanting to have kids is one thing, but being irritated and maybe even hate is what I don't understand.

She has three cats, and they are her children. Her cats have health insurance, I was shocked. She clipped their nails, bath them, feed them and spend alot monthly on the cats. I jejely just find one excuse that I'm not doing again. And I am thinking I was open minded. That was the limit.
