Family › Re: Single And Be Having Children Outside Wedlock by crackhaus: 8:18am On Nov 17, 2021
Chuky7:
A neighbor of mine not married stayed single has children out of wedlock I once asked him why he said his family believe that as far as you can take care of them no problem. he believes in going the unconventional way as marriage no too dey favor man. you pay bride price all bills are on you. you take care of your new family. but as a non married man his only concern are the kids and the baby mama.

What do you think of this lifestyle. I dey reason am.

It's not a death sentence for a child born out of wedlock nothing really changes just traditions you are conditioned to for no reason.
When you consider everything involved and when it comes down to the point, it's actually a better bargain for men who can see past the limit of their cultural upbringing.

There's something about being plugged into a matrix and not realizing that your every thought, decision, and ideology is programmed to conform.

Your neighbor has guts and I like him for that.
Truth is, not many men in Nigeria are able to go this unconventional route even if they really desired it.

In more contemporary societies, this would not even be a topic of conversation for people to deliberate on.
It's just common sense to want to avoid as much complications that come when you legally marry a woman.

A man can be the sole provider in a home for 5 years and nobody will know how the money flows.

But peradventure he hits a snag like lose his job/business or the wife gets elevated financially above him then turns provider for for 5 just days, the while neighbourhood will know in an instant. Only intelligent wives have passed this test with flying colours.

With the repeated use of the phrase "step up his game" by the OP, it is evident she turned the Homefront into some kind of competition with the size of one's bank account as the deciding factor of who wins the competition. I can tell you she made that man see hell simply because she was better placed financially.

If as a woman you can freely offer your body but not your money, what does that make you? Between your body and money which is more important?
It seems you just figured this out.

You see these modern women dem?

Their body is of a lesser value than their money oo.
You can take this fact to any bank. cheesy

Making up silly scenarios to explain why a woman should not support her man financially.

I have been laughing... LOL cheesy
This thread is a good reminder to every man out there who still believes that these women are capable of loving/needing you for more than what you can provide for them.

In the early times, before man invented marriage ceremonies, once you've gone in (slept) with a maiden, you are obligated to be with her. According to God's laws, she becomes your wife.
I believe it is still valid till today.

I created this new account to hide my identity and seek for mature advise here. I am married to a loving man that always try his best to please me. But the problem is I love sex so much, don't get me wrong please. I am not a nympho and I don't cheat on my husband.

He's a type of man that can't go more than 1 round in a day and honestly I always wish we can do it more than 5 rounds.

Even after doing it, i will still be feeling so Hot and i don't want to cheat on my husband. I have prayed several times for God to reduce my libido but the thing is just increasing everyday cry

Nothing like dwelling on the negative here. Its a normal phenomenon and thats only one aspect I just cited there, which most married people can attest to.

I like to say things the way they are. It's not negativity but reality., Onyen " negative".

As for my being single, it's a choice. And I won't join you and your lots to go into marriage just because others are going into it or without first calculating the cost,; only to get there and start wishing I never did.

You that is married, how far?
Are you any happier?

Family › Re: What's So Special About Getting Married? by crackhaus: 7:18am On Nov 12, 2021
Mercychen:
To me, nothing really special about marriage because I've moved closely with married people and all i see is stress, stress and more stress!

Imagine the daily routine of a woman. Especially those who are not working.

Wake up early ( when youre not ready)
Prep the children for school.
Prepare their food breakfast.
If hubby is nice, he'll help drop them off otherwise, you do the school runs.

You get home and start putting the house in order. And attend to other chores staring you in the face. Time is ticking

Get ready to prepare lunch.
Then before you know it, it's time to go pick the kids.
Come back, freshen them up.
Serve them
Attend to their home work.

The you get set for dinner so hubby can have something to eat when he gets home. Before you know it, the day is gone and you're fagged out. Same thing continues tomorrow and on and on until....

Imagine if you're a working Mom and now have to combine all these with work...

Now tell me what will make a single viewing all these want to get married?

Truth be told, that's another thing I calculate and i relax and continue enjoying my single life.

Many married women are not happy. They are silently crying!!!
Forget all that fake smile they wear when they come out. They are not happy

Even the men are not 100% fulfilled. Responsibility wan break their neck.

Let's tell ourselves the truth. Even if you're rich, it's still not that easy.

I've seen a rich couple who both drove madly to school at the same time to pick their ward and were reigning heavy curses at each other at the gate because they both argued earlier on who's going to pick the son. So it's like non of them wanted to come and it was already evening and the boy was still in school.

I guess they called the house and the nanny who was babysitting their twin babies then, told them the boy was not home.

Omor.. see the speed they drove into the school compound with. Wify packed one side, hubby parked the other way and they both jumped out of their cars rushing Into the school and abusing each other.

Wife : " You shouldn't have come" useless man" As she stormed into the classroom

Man: ori e ko pe. why did you come? You should have remained at work"

Hmmm... So much hype about marriage. Abegi!
Dwelling too much on negatives...

It almost seems like you're trying really hard to validate yourself for being single.
Family › Re: Why Do People Improve Themselves After A Divorce But Not During The Marriage? by crackhaus:
Funny, but interesting story.

This caught my attention though:
I tried to get a teaching job which can help me continue my “rat race” at home. None of them lasted for more than four months, reasons I couldn't figure out till today cos I believe I'm very good at that.
I'm just wondering if the husband in the story is also responsible for making his wife unable to keep a job for more than four months.

.... True. My wife knows I'm a very mad person who doesn't take rubbish so she gives me my space.

Funny thing was that she and her mum tried so many tricks to cage me when we got married newly but when her mum saw the madness in me,nobody tell am to advice her daughter properly.

In my house,if my wife knows she's gonna go out with me to any function, she gets ready even 30 minutes before me if not,I will leave her and go my way.

Men really need to be men in all things.

This is how it ought to be, at least until the kids are past a certain age.

I don't quite see the issue as regards the topic.

Both men and women ought to value their kids more than they do their spouses.

Old sperm (Advanced Paternal Age) is a high risk when is comes to certain birth defects.

While working with children with certain neurodevelopmental disorders, one of the key questions that must be asked is the age of the child's biological father.
Na so.

I can't believe anyone actually bought this... cheesy

You want to come here and start rewriting biology just to sustain your biases eh.

What does old sperm even mean exactly? grin
This one off me... LOL

– A healthy man will continue producing new sperm until the day he dies, it's a process called spermatogenesis... but I figure you already knew this, no?

– A healthy woman does not produce new eggs because y'all are born with all the eggs you'll ever need, and in fact by the time women are at puberty, only about 25% of those eggs are left... From this point onwards, the quality will continue to decline.
You can take this fight to the creator sha... na him do am like that, NOT men.

When you take cognizance of the above facts and keep all things equal while contrasting a healthy man and a healthy woman (both in their 50s/60s), who then do you expect would be more at risk of having a child with a disorder? cheesy

I'm not trying to make a case for which gender needs to marry early, I've never cared about that... But make una nor come dey pretend say everyone here reading is a dummy. grin
Family › Re: Why Are Young Men In Nigeria So Desperate About Marriage by crackhaus:
tensazangetsu20:
I don't know if it's just me or the circle I am around but a lot of young Nigerian men are very desperate about being in a relationship or getting married. These are guys in the 24 to 29 age range. Most unemployed or earning very low salaries 30 to 50k.

They believe that marriage will chang their fate and make them really wealthy. It's quite understandable if women are crazy about marriage as they have a biological clock but a man can literally father kids at 90 if he wants to so what's the rush?
It is your circle.

The fact that some females here agree with you is not enough of a confirmation either.

From the perspective of women, they obviously meet guys who want to appear serious by using the line "I want to marry you" on them, so of course they also would assume that most men are desperate for marriage given those experiences — it's simply a confirmation bias.

Subjective experiences like the above as well as yours (your circle), do not account for the mentality of the general male population when it comes to marriage.

Even females themselves know it deep down in their hearts that they're the ones who are most desperate for marriage, and this includes every single one of them on this thread... BUT of course, don't expect any to admit it even at the risk of death. grin

There is a stage you get to in life that you begin to understand that everybody, irrespective of their status and regardless of the feelings or opinions of others crave for happiness and their rights to pursue this happiness should be respected.

I used to be critical of housemaids ,regarding them as dirty and flirt because of certain past observations.

Later on, i realized that housemaids are also humans, who like other humans have sexual urges but aren't allowed to freely express it, so they tend to gratify their sexual urges by sleeping with the males in the household or around it like their madam's husband, relatives, gatemen, gardnerd or even their madam's children.
One guy once recollected that when he was in primary-2, their housegirl asked him to be licking her private part, that it will later-on turn to ice-cream in his mouth.
