Innoson doesn't understand the game he is playing, this matter is something that should have been settled over drinks at ikoyi club (Dangote and BUA get problem, an northern elders solve the problem). Now it's a battle of political clout, GTB will beat him hands down in this battle, the judgement and narrative of this case will change in favour of GTB and people will shout, unfair, zoo, injustice etc. We simply don't understand how businesses are run in Nigeria, you need friends, powerful friends and very powerful friends. These ones are still thinking Osinbajo is Buhari's secret weapon. The Hausa Fulani will soon meet to decide on their candidate of choice, Osinbajo stands a better chance than Tinubu because they assume his submission to PMB is an indication that he can be controlled, they will be in for a surprise. Tinubu has to play it safe, if he emerges as APC candidate all well and good, if his political son emerges he also wins.

I was being blinded by love to the extent that my boyfriend and I took a blood covenant, that was about some years ago..

The truth is that I was so madly in love with him, and when he brought out the ideal, I thought that was the only way he will be mine forever. So I agreed with him, and we made the convenant.. We use needle to cut out blood from our thumb, and we made a vow never to live each other or make love with another person..

i've been discussing with him to end this convenant, but he always refuses. We took the convenant when i was 17yrs, and Its been 8years now, and i've loved only him. Even though i don't love him again, i'm afraid to have or make love with another person.
he say we can't end it and that we must mary each other.

I already found someone else i love, i'm planning to report him to the police or his parents if he dosn't give me a chance to go away..

*i don't kno if it will actually hurt me if i love another person.

i really want to go away from him
If you are a born again Christian I don't think it's an issue. Think about it sex itself is a blood covenant, yet people indulge in it with multiple people. The only exception is if you invited a diety to stand as surety to the covenant.

I married my beautiful wife January this year, I Love my wife so much, I have never cheated on her since we got married. I opened a business for her worth 900k. i've already promised her a car this coming year (well I ride camry muscle and I'm tired of sharing the car with her).

My wife is too lazy, all she cares about is her eye lashes, make-up, nails and watching Zeeworld all day, She goes to her shop 10am and return 3pm, She barely take care of the house. Sometimes the plate I used for breakfast before going to work would still be on the dining table unwashed when I return. Her make-up tools and bag littered everywhere in our sitting room.

We're expecting our 1st child, Now that She's pregnant (4 months) she's worst. Na so so chop chop, I will jokingly say babe Pls don't go out of shape I won't look ur side again, Is like the more I beg, the more she chop chop. ...weird food carvings. Coconut water and bread, shawarma and pepper soup with sugar cane in her hand, I dare not buy it for her otherwise I won't sleep.

I still cook when I'm back from work. Anytime I tried to talk to her, she would say can't I see she's pregnant, she's having waist pain, leg pain, Infact body pains. I wanted to employ a maid she refused, she spoke ill about maids, she said they are husband snatchers e.t.c.

3 days ago, She asked me to renew our dstv sub and I refused. Yesterday I noticed she has done it (first time). I saw her watching Zeeworld, laughing sheepishly and pointing to the TV, I needed to watch man united match so I changed the channel, she dragged the remote control from me and changed it back to Zeeworld, she said I'm too stingy, I didn't sub for her, I refused to buy her a car.

I don't know what to do. With her lazy attitude I'm scared during delivery she would be saying I can't push o.

Marriage is not a walk in the park, every marriage is like a big organization/company where there are several systems and departments that govern the conduct and running of the organization. The issue you have is that you are running a family without a family system, and these systems should have been agreed upon before marriage or some form of compromise needs to be made.

Your family does not have a vision and core values, every party needs to know where the family is going alongside acceptable and unacceptable behavior, your wife is displaying unacceptable behavior to you but she doesn't know because no prior standards were set, she never agreed to any standards.

Your family needs a financial system, child training system, investment system, work-life system, sex system, health system, chores system, etc. For things to work between two partners, there needs to be some form of synergy because both parties come into the partnership with a different ideology, it's more like two people going in opposite directions but are chained together in the waist.

When you have a financial system, it is clear where the family finance is going, there is transparency and no talk about stingy, etc. when you have a chores system who does what is clearly established and if both parties refuse to do a task, a third party called a help is introduced. when a work system is in place, there is a premium for value and improving the family's finances so nobody does a 5hrs of work a day.

The problem is that there are no systems in the home, its a little difficult to initiate systems when a partnership has been formed, however, it's better late than never. I will advise that you both go see a counselor who can help you develop family systems and do it quickly before the arrival of the baby because a third partner changes the dynamics of the game. I wish you success in your family.

I kind of agree on his stance on restructuring, restructuring has been touted as a silver bullet that will solve all our problems, but prior to 1966 coup we had similar problems that we presently face. So how does going back to 1966 solve a problem that predates 1966. If it is true federalism we want let us state it clearly, at least that's what I want, this restructuring nomenclature can be a bit confusing.

I have been dating this girl for about two years now and our relationship was leaning towards marriage until we broke up. The reason we broke up was because she always go through everything on my phone including my bank transaction, who i called, the pictures i deleted on my phone, and who i blocked on whatsapp and facebook.

She literally goes through everything until i got fed up.. not only that shes also disturbing me about getting married to her all the time.

And i broke up with her because of something that is meaningless. We both moved on and I met this girl online and told her I dont want to date buh we can be friends. So after about 2 months my friends ex called me and said she cry almost everyday that she wants to speak to me. So she apologized for everything that happened and i just had to no choice than to take her back.

The twist here is that i told this new friend about my ex and she noticed a few good things about me. So she started having a crush on me that she wants to pay me a visit. Just this night she sent me a picture of her wearing some skimpy cloth and that definitely put my guards down and im really tempted to invite her.

Guys am back with my ex and this is really tempting what do i do. Please i need a mature advice cos this new girl might grow more feelings for me if i invite her. I'm thinking of paying her a visit instead of inviting her.

Matured guys please
An ex is ex for a reason, never forget that reason. One of the core values required in building a successful marriage is mutual trust, anyone monitoring your every movement doesn't trust you. #think.
FamilyRe: My Younger Brother Is A Bone In Our Throat. Pls Help! by gabicon: 5:06am On Dec 25, 2021
Cyntie55:
Good day nairalanders. Season greetings to y'all. I'm so angry right now. Please I need mature advice.

My father is not a learned person but he make sure all his children are graduates. My younger brother(last born and only son) rounded up his Nysc few months ago, we're just 2 girls. My elder sis and I. My elder sis is a nurse in Austria (3 years now), she's married with a kid in Austria. My big sister send money home once in 3 months, and I have been the one receiving the money. I share the money exactly as instructed by my big sis. I have never cheated anyone, Infact my Dad and Big sis communicate very well. My Dad trust me so much.

My younger brother is always angry, He said he feel cheated all the time. He shouts and talks to me anyhow like I'm his mate.
Honestly speaking, I gave my younger brother more love and respect that he could ever imagine. When he was serving, he would call telling me he need 10k urgently, sometimes 20k, that he will pay back. Immediately I will send it to him and he would never pay back. Same thing he does to my father.
If we ask him what's he using his allawee for?? He would angrily say so is becus we're sending him "chicken change" that's why we're asking jamb questions.

He said we don't regard him, he called my Dad a SIMP, he said my Dad listen more to my big sis and I....but he don't listen to any of his suggestions.

My brother is a 2:1 (second class upper) graduate in economics from UNIBEN. After his Nysc all he does is to sleep and eat. My Dad's good friend told my brother to come to Lagos and resume work with him. He refused. My Dad ask him if he wants to further his education (masters or professional courses)he said no....Okay follow my Dad to his cement shop and help him (my dad even promised to pay him salary) he refused....I overheard him on a call with a friend and i suspect he's now into yahoo yahoo.

Look at what happened. My big sis sent us money yesterday to celebrate this festive period. She said I should give my brother 50k, I should take 80k and give my father the rest (abt 250k). My Dad is always aware of everything.
I even added 20k out of my money and I transferred 70k to my brother, I was left with 60k (becus she also sent me hair and I plan to sell it becus I already had enough). You can imagine this ungrateful idiot started insulting me, that I cheated him. the fool angrily withdrawn the money from his account and SET IT ON FIRE (70k). He called my elder sister and started warning her saying "if he can't receive the money henceforth, she should stop sending him money again that he's the man of the house".
My Dad gave him a resetting, resounding, hot and dirty slaps. He pulled out a knife, deflated my Dad's car tyres and ran away from the house.

Everyone is not happy. I don't want my brother to live a wayward life. He's 24 years old. Please nairalanders Help!
You guys just successfully groomed a monster, the only sure way to tame it is to stop feeding it. Your brother is indisciplined, and indisciplined boys end in the grave, criminal justice system, or on the street. Boys and girls are not trained the same way, boys need a lot of discipline. Your dad should stop accomodating his excesses, it starts by him getting the tyres he destroyed fixed, give him an ultimatum to get a job, give him an ultimatum to get his own place. The problem with indisciplined boys is that they will always get in trouble, make sure you don't get him out too quickly. Your sister should stop sending him unsolicited money, he feels he is entitled to it, that is a dangerous place for any young man. If you guys don't discipline him the streets or the criminal justice system will, and their discipline won't be palatable, for instance if the slashes someone else tyres on the street he will get the beating of his life and he will still pay for the tyres. If 50k is apportioned to him don't make it 70k , the lesson life is trying to teach him is contentment and you are messing up the lesson.

Lagos does not have the capacity to implement this policy as of January 2022. The question is how many cars are registered in Lagos? on a monthly basis how many vehicles will require renewal of roadworthiness? how many vehicles can or inspection centers accommodate in a day? Do we even have the data? How do we manage the informal transport unions? We cant make decisions without data, else the whole system just crumbles. Conducting MOT requires standardizing the auto-maintenance industry, giving licenses to mechanics/garages to conduct the test on behalf of the government. These are poorly thought out ideas with very weak plans.

We all know that the almajiri system is a weaponised poverty and militia system. When we want to justify wrong in Nigeria, we hide it under ethnicity and religion. We have radicalised children in the name of a god we claim to serve. The progenitors of the religion don't behave this way, their sons and daughters are taught the religion alongside science, art, humanitarians etc. Their children can compete anywhere in the world, which opens avenue for sharing their faith.

I think it's too late for Peter and Paul (psquare)
They were the deal after the era of 2face, but greed got a hold of them... Just too bad.

The duo who sang various hits songs that gained international recognitions would have put their name in the hall of fame, by winning grammies ( yes, they had it coming) but they let their emotions ruin it all.

Who don't know psqauare?
Rnb, pop, hiphop abi na party jam?
Quality videos and dance choreography.

However their break up paved the way open for a lot of upcoming artist, maybe we won't have been hearing the name fireboy today or omah lay or rema.

just maybe wizkid might not have won his first Grammy award.(not when the duos are still there at the top)

Just maybe burna boy might still have been underated, because the bigs shots psquare are there holding the number one spot

Hearing the news of their reunion gave us joy, but still we all know the game have changed.
Their era is somehow long passed!

Am afraid to say, Peter and Paul held their career down with their own hands and I see nothing much left for them in the present nigeria music industry filled with youngsters with different beats, voice and styles.

Making comebacks it's not easy, especially when it's this long, if not ask 2face and Duncan mighty how e dey be cheesy.

Psquare songs are good, no doubts but Times have changed.

We are talking about two "married men" with wife's and kids competing with this Young folks out here afresh, it won't be easy.

just an opinion
I would beg to differ on your opinion here, the key to relevance in the music industry is relevant content, if you give the people what they want on regular basics, you remain relevant to the industry. Psquare just needs great content, say 2 hit tracks, and the birds will be whistling their names as the comeback kings, all that is required to achieve this is a great beat combined with lyrics.
PoliticsRe: Buhari’s ‘DEEL’ With Nigerian Youths by gabicon: 3:41pm On Nov 27, 2021
presidency:
BUHARI’S ‘DEEL’ WITH NIGERIAN YOUTHS

By FEMI ADESINA

What’s the deal for youths in the country, particularly from the Muhammadu Buhari administration? That is a question that often comes from different quarters.

Well, the deal for the largest demographic composition, representing about 65% of our population, has been encapsulated under the acronym DEEL. And it’s a big deal, standing for Digital Skill Acquisition, Employability, Entrepreneurship, and Leadership.

Unfolding the deal behind DEEL last week at the State House Press Briefing was Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, who disclosed that his Ministry has the mandate to promote the physical, mental and socio-economic development of the youth through the advancement and protection of their rights within Nigeria.

But is the job being done? How, and to what end? The Ministry has the duty of developing the youth, and also sports. But let’s focus on the youth component in this piece, as it is quite a germane issue, which often sends those involved into dangerous and illegal migration, in which they dare both the Sahara Desert, and the Mediterranean Sea, all in the bid to get to ‘greener’ pastures in Europe, and other parts of the world.

A few survive the misadventure, while the larger number perish in the famished bowels of the Desert, or the watery enclave of the Sea. But why should our youths stay at home? Minister Dare unfurled the reasons.

DEEL. Digital Skill Acquisition. Entrepreneurship. Employability. Leadership.

Under D, the Minister says a minimum number of 6523 of our youths have been trained in robotics and artificial intelligence. Others have been tutored in mobile device repairs, 30,000 have benefited from what is called Digital Youth Nigeria through the IBM Digital Nation Africa, and 10,000 Youth Corps members benefited in Digital skills training.

There are also trainings in youth entrepreneurship for vulnerable youths, and applicant recruitment across the six geopolitical zones in the country, with a budget of N5.2 billion.

Under E, Entrepreneurship, the sum of N75 billion is to be spent over three years, 2020-2023. Called the Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF), it is an initiative of the Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, and is funded by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The aim is to invest in the innovative ideas, skills and talent of our youths, thereby turning them into entrepreneurs, wealth creators and employers of labour, contributing to national development. The intention is to generate 500,000 jobs between 2020-2023.

According to Minister Dare, the sum of N2.9 billion has been disbursed so far under the CBN/NIRSAL arrangement, while 25,000 applicants have been evaluated and are undergoing final stage of training before funds disbursement.

Hear testimonials of some beneficiaries of NYIF: “I will like to send my appreciation to Mr President and the Ministry for the good job done to make sure the fund got to the right people.” Suleiman Abdulkadir.

Yemi Kemi Borisade: “Thank you Mr President for approving this fund through the Ministry of Youth and Sports. God bless Nigeria, God bless Mr President.”

And another beneficiary: “I thank the Federal Government through the Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports for the opportunity to benefit and scale up my business.”

About 5,258 youths have already benefited from the MSME loan.

In a digital age, the onus is on literate youths to apply online, to become beneficiaries. They need not look for godfathers to help, as it is available for all and sundry. Our youths need to eschew cynicism and skepticism, and step into what has been provided for them. The saying that “nothing ventured, nothing gained,” still rings true. The testimonies are from different parts of the country under the scheme.

There’s the Nigeria Online Youth Assembly (NOYA), which is a purpose-built portal by the Ministry to enable youths get job opportunities, scholarships for personal development, and it presently has over 98, 300 youths signed up.

Instead of joining NOYA, we have millions of youths who are online, spewing hatred against their country, its leadership, and being purveyors of fake news, and hatred. It’s surely not the way to go.

There are series of opportunities for our youths to improve their employability, and acquire leadership skills. There’s the Work Experience Programme (WEP), designed to provide opportunities for them to obtain technical and work readiness skills that will increase their potential for employment, through placement in various organizations for a period of three months.

Under President Buhari, stipend payable to NYSC members has been increased from N18,000 monthly to N33,000. Over 3000,000 youth benefit from this.

Opportunities abound for our youths to benefit from different provisions under DEEL. But they have to go for what has been provided, and not just bemoan their fate, lamenting that nothing is being done for them. Leadership is taken, not given on a platter. They asked for the Not Too Young to Run law, they got it. Let them use what they now have.

The truth is that the focal points of the Buhari administration have been designed to give our youths a future and a hope. When insurgency and banditry are being robustly fought, it is so that the youths can have a country. When efforts are made to retune, diversify and make the economy robust, it is for the youth. And when corrupt people are jailed and their loots recovered, it is for the youths to have a future.

Let there be no disruptive tendencies from our youths again. Let them know that they are stakeholders in the country, their country, and they have roles to play in salvaging Nigeria. It’s a big deal, and DEEL is a good way to get there.

A Nigerian lady has asserted that true love does not exist for the mere fact that money can easily be used to snatch someone’s partner.

She took to Twitter to state that a man would realise that his girlfriend doesn’t really love him.

The lady with username @HunchoSamG wrote
Make person transfer 500k give your babe first, na that time you go know say true love no exist
She’s not your babe na just your turn. Unless you fit double the money send give m lol.”

Read some comments below..

@mira_dew; Why you shouldn’t date a broke babe in the first place

@luthershakurr; Some will reject and start acting up you know. All your shortcomings they used to overlook will then become very glaring and too much to cope with.

@marshallzugo007; True love exists. Just because you haven’t seen it yet doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist. Try and adjust this mentality “everybody has a price but sometimes it not about money”
If your babe can earn 500k, she won't be flattered by someone dashing her 500k. We need to start dating productive people and shaming the unproductive once.

I was discussing with a friend of mine during one of his visits this past weekend, we talked about politics, football and a whole lot of interesting topics. We were in the middle of discussion when we tuned in into this popular reality tv series on dstv, “finding the one”. So we switched topic

I was trying to explain to him why we have many ladies looking for suitors in Nigeria and the main reason being this harsh economy. I told him no man would want to settle down until he has something to fall onto and has a good job that can sustain a family but my friend thinks otherwise.

He said the reason why some ladies get really old without suitors coming their way is because they must have ignored a lot of guys during their prime (20-28) and once reality set in they become desperate.

I told him I have a sister who is perfectly fine and doing well but good men ain’t just coming her way, but he just wouldn’t agree. I can’t believe people still think this way in this 21st century. He was telling me no matter your looks and all someone must approach you, I had to calm him down what if those coming your way ain’t even somebody you can settle with. Guess his reply? You just have to endure and get married like that.

This a guy went on for some hours before I just decided to call it a quit and told him we should just enjoy our football match.Personally to me I think nobody should be forced into marriage when he /she ain’t ready.

I just want to seek you guys opinion, he will also be on nairaland reading this. Should the sole reason of not being able to find suitors be attributed to youthful exuberance alone? Do girls who find it difficult to find a man must have been to choosy in the past? Your opinions will be highly appreciated
I will have to agree with your friend, I think pastor David Ogbule also talked about it some months ago. In life there are seasons, not maximizing the opportunities a season brings has dire consequences. A lady will menstruate 400 times in her life, that's 33.3 year, 7 of those years are to help grow into full maturity, so she has 26.3 years to enjoy sex and have children. The peak period in a lady's season is 20- 29 years, if you don't have a strong relationship at that period, it could be somewhat problematic. Secondly, in Nigeria we worship money, everything has been denominated to money, the very process of our marriage culture is heavily monetized. In many cultures abroad people get married after high school and many of these marriages make it, in the past people were willing to build together their life, family and career but now we prefer to build individually. Some men will take the chance of building with a woman but most women are not interested not until it's very late. Let's not go into the irresponsibility and bad habits of men or the fact that many men are poorly trained.

Good day everyone.
I don't want to cheat on my wife but she cannot cope with my demands for sex. She even told me to control myself and be more spiritual and I am wondering. If I am not controlling myself, I would have cheated on her long ago. I am a fine looking man with many opportunities to cheat. We only have sex when she's ready and wants it, anything outside that is excuse upon excuse. How can a woman I married be telling me to control myself?
Communication is key to each party getting what they want out of a relationship. You guys will need to sit down and talk, let her know how you feel and listen to how she also feels. Let her know the pressure her actions are pushing your thoughts to. Now in a marriage we have two types of sex, the beautiful sex and the dutyfull sex, from what you have explained you are only getting the beautiful sex, the dutyfull sex can be a quickie say twice in a week, five minutes. You guys can come up with some timetable of the days so that all parties are prepared. Sometimes we just have to make concrete plans to make things work.

We have been married for a year now. We have been trying to conceive. Because of the emotional stress attached my wife said she can't be staying at home alone, it causes her stress. She said she wants to start doing something. At least a business.

I took a loan from my place of work and we started the business for over 2 months now. The issue now is that, I don't always have cash on me anymore. Any little money I got it's for the business. Basically, we mostly feed from the business.

Yesterday, after we returned home, she started giving me attitude, I asked her what the issue was, she started telling me how I am killing the business, not taking good care of her, not having money to take care of her and all sort of rubbish, she brought out how incompetent I am as a husband and what have you. I never said a word to reply her and its eating me up seriously, I could not sleep the whole night. This is the person that I sacrificed a lot for. I was supposed a take a professional course this November, but because of her I had to postpone it.

Please I need your advice.

PS: I did not eat the food she prepared last night.
Oxygen for a year old marriage is communication, you guys have to sit down and talk, bare all the emotions out. The conception thing can be the underlying issue but I believe the main issue is that you don't have a family vision. I tell folks before they get married to have a family vision, it will save them a lot of head aches. Your vision will encompass finance, children, career/business, home running etc. Then your vision will require goals to make them achievable. As it stands you and your wife are going in two different directions she wants more TLC and you are financially strained, it's just like your left leg going one direction and the right leg going the opposite, there is no directional movement. A family vision will help take care of direction, every party knows where the family is heading, financial vision will ensure that your wife doesn't ask for what the family doesn't have, romantic vision will ensure that every ones romantic/emotional needs are satisfied.

My head is not thinking right right now cos I'm going through a lot. I was in dire need of money for hospital bill when someone sent me some money due to my cries. Using ATM to withdraw it, I was debited but not dispensed. Going to 3 months now, the bank has not refunded. That money was to save a life but bank played politics with it.

What are my chances if I sue them for damages?
If you are suing a bank for 2k, it means you are probably broke. How do you intend to pay a legal team? The banks have a war chest to handle our criminal justice system which by the way is a marathon not a short sprint. A smarter way to handle it is to either go to the bank and cause a scene or drag them on social media thereby making them trend for the wrong reasons.
FamilyRe: Her Parents Sponsored Our Wedding, Should I Be Worried. by gabicon: 6:49pm On Nov 14, 2021
Tonero5200:
Hi.

Honestly speaking am really worried, have dated my fiance for sometime now. So we finally decided to tie the knot.
She suggested we do it this year November and I concurred, so we've been saving towards it ever since.

Last 2 months I made my intentions known to her family, that I will like to marry their daughter. Due to the conversations I had With her parents, I told them I wanted it small.. because am not financialy buoyant.

But To my surprise, her dad said I shouldn't worry about it, they are going to support me ( which is most likely Normal)

(They gave me traditional rite's, which I sorted out by myself)

With the traditional right drawing close, last month I learnt from my fiancee..her parents are planning to buy 2 cow for the traditional and white wedding. (I was surprised)

The following week, the hall she choosed for the reception of the white wedding, has already been paid for by her dad which was about 500k excluding the decorations which they also took care of ( even though I opted we could have done the reception in the church)

But my fiancee told me her dad is inviting alot of well-wishers home and abroad to come celebrate with us.both his fellow staffs and all.

* I bought 2 bag of rice and groundnut oils

* We paid for the cakes

* We paid for drinks

* We sorted things out (invitation cards, pre shoot photos)

But was surprised 2 days to the traditional marriage, more expensive drinks were rolling in.

On the d day of the white wedding, I realised, they cooked more than 8 bags of rice ( coconut, jollof, banga and fried) meats were surplused.
Alot of people came from her family's, while my own families were just there.. they did get the message.

Someone even said it to my mom face. THAT THIS GIRL PAPA TRY O.

please, I don't want to sound like am a bad person or I don't know good.
Offcus I appreciate her parents efforts, but am just a little bit worried.

As a man, won't this come to haunt me in the future?
Your parent in-law didn't throw a lavish party for you or your wife, they did it for themselves, to satisfy their egos. When my sister got married my parents booked all the hotels close to the venue as accomodation for their guests, my dad bought # cows, his brothers bought one cow, there was fish, chicken, turkey etc. My guy enjoy the memory of your wedding and stop reading meaning to simple things.
FamilyRe: Will You Allow Her To Stay With Her Parents, After Trad Without Church Wedding? by gabicon: 6:59pm On Nov 13, 2021

This post is for intending grooms.

I made this post because it was one of the major reasons I parted with my ex(it was a serious relationship) few years ago, then I wasn't financially stable as I am now, so my decision was inline with my capability then. She told me she won't move in with me unless I do church wedding even after the trad. and she was serious about it. She wasn't ready to reason with me.

Considering the fact that majority of the men( those within the marriageable age range and above but are not financially stable enough to run everything at once) have the plan of doing the white wedding first, later on do the church wedding when they are more financially stable.

This led me to running a check recently and I find out that in some homes or families, they don't allow their daughters to move in with their husbands even after the men have paid their bride prices, until the church(or white) wedding has been done.

Dear single men, what do you think about this?
Can you cope with it until you're ready for your church wedding?

To the married ones, did you experience this?
How were you able to handle it?

MODs, please do the needful.
The main marriage is when both families agree to unite by joining their children which is the traditional wedding. The white wedding is a western tradition that we adopted. Traditions can be very potent when we make them the core of any concept. The potency of a tradition is what strengthens ones resolve to prioritize a particular kind of wedding. The church claim that marriage instituted in it shows some form of partnership with God in the marriage, but in biblical days no marriage was instituted in the temple, they were more of a family affair. Everyone is free to practice their paradigm, no need to invalidate someone else conscience because of superior knowledge.

1sherlockHolmes:
I'm a corp member passing out this coming december, during the previous month I have managed to raised 180k from my alawee.

Last month october I discovered bet9ja online betting through my friend, and decided to give it a try at first I was winning, I was happy that I discovered a way to earn extra income, I ignored all the warnings that I saw online about betting. Gradually I started losing, sometimes my games enter and sometimes cut but i refused to stop.

To cut it short guys I'm now pennyless, my 180k turn 0k in just a month and next month I'm heading to my village empty handed. Its been so long since I cry but today i did.
My dear betting is a bad habit for people who are unskilled in doing it. Betting is more like high school probability, the odds are stacked 1 to 2........., infinity. So if you are not using data to make informed decisions thereby increasing your chances don't bet. If you are outside a metropolitan state you could have used the money to trade food and livestock, you could easily have made 40% profit.

Good evening nlders I’ll be very brief and precise .This thing has been bothering my mind and I felt I should seek for reasonable and experienced opinions from senior men them on this forum .

The issue is .. is it a bad thing to cook in my Brothers house (although he has a wife and kids ) .His wife felt bad yesterday cus I cooked small okra and Eba cus I was hungry . The only food she likes me to cook in her kitchen is indomie . I feel if there Is love what’s there if I cook anything I want to eat in the kitchen .must I always take permission to cook

Pls I want to know if it’s right or wrong

Front page pls
People's home is their territory they determine the rules and regulations that govern their homes. It is obvious that the relationship between you and your sister-in-law hasn't matured to the extent that she can allow you to cook in her kitchen. Find out what you need to do to earn that trust, I have friends and family I can enter their kitchen and cook, there are some I can't even touch water dispenser. It's all about relationship bonds. Some people are very nice people but very territorial, know the boundary lines.

Gumi needs to stop mentioning the Niger Delta case, no land in the north was made desolate by mining, and the pollution struggle started from Saro-Wiwa and the ogoni others. The politicians in the north stole the collective wealth of the north, refused to educate the people, and liberate them from poverty. Why must the federal government now pay for the irresponsibility of the northern elite. They want LAND? The very bane of distrust southerners have for the Hausa Fulani.
HealthRe: The Doctors Want To Amputate My Mum's Leg. Advice Needed by gabicon: 4:45am On Nov 06, 2021
Spark2:
Hello NL.
I'm going to keep this brief.

It started three weeks ago. my mum, who was walking normal with no problem suddenly could not walk. Her left leg began paining her severely that day. My mum was all in tears... She was rushed to the hospital where it was discovered that her sugar level was on the high side. The hospital gave drugs which stabilised it, at that point my mum was very weak, couldn't eat, each time she eat she throws up and also had some pain in the leg still. After a week in the hospital, we were then referred to a teaching hospital after a test showed that creatinine in her kidney was high.

The teaching hospital tried their best and I can say my mum is now okay. Except for the left leg. She can't still walk on it, the leg feels cold to touch with a little discolouration above the foot.

Doppler test showed that blood isn't really flowing through the leg. And they said they will need to amputate the leg to prevent the infection from growing to the other parts of the body.

Please I want to know if you know anyone who had similar condition and amputation was recommended but was later healed without need for amputation.

Please share your recommendations. I need my mum now more than before in my life. We are confused on whether to allow them to go on with the amputation or seek other alternatives.

Thank you very much.

Pls note that as at now, her sugar level, creatinine and other things are normal.
Have you tried our local medicine? Those people who massage the leg I once gathered from someone with stroke that they work. I have also read about the use of leach to allow proper blood flow. But when considering alternative medicine you have to be very careful, some of these people don't know what they are doing.

Good afternoon House.

Someone told my sister that there was a connection for a sales rep. Job in UAE, since she's yet to get a job after her NYSC, (you know how tough Nigeria is now. But it will require her to pay some money for her visa, flight ticket and other necessary documents, but my sister told her that she currently don't have money to process any international papers.

After much discussion this lady told my sister not to worry that all documentations including flight ticket will be paid for her but on a commission fee when she arrived her destination and upon resuming work in UAE, a percentage of her salary will be remitted to them until she pays up the debt incurred.

This was two months ago precisely August. Now fast forward to yesterday 3rd November 2021, I got a WhatsApp message from my sister telling me that she was being forced into prostitution upon arriving and not the sales job as was agreed.

I told her to find a way to come back to Nigeria since she has a return ticket that will expire in 4 days time valid till 8th November 2021.

Now the issue is:
1. Her Boss, as she called her earlier took her passport upon arrival in the pretense that she may misplace it or it may get stolen.

2. Her boss insisted on her paying all the debt incurred in processing her peppers which is 125% extra on what she spent in bringing her to Dubai, which amounts to N3.5 million Naira.

Please is there a way she can return back without her international passport since she went there legally and her return ticket is still valid.

Please we need help as during this altercation since yesterday, I cannot communicate with her as her Boss has seized her phone. It's now a matter of life and death.
Go on social media and find Abike Dabiri Erewa's handle and explain your case to her, she will definitely tell you what to do.

The family of a female corner identified as Zainab are seen on the site of the collapsed Ikoyi Building praying she comes out alive. A young man who appears to be her brother is being told he will not become an only child. Please say a prayer for Zainab.

The Lagos state government has not done a very good job with the speed of emergency response. it has been 48 hours and people are still trapped in the building.

Government at all levels across Nigeria must place more value on the life of every Nigerian and provide facilities to reflect this value.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=StwRAcUzLR0
unfortunately, chances are that there are not going to be any survivors as we cross the 48hrs mark. This is all as a result of the negligence of the government, we have been having building collapse for quite some time now and no considerable investment has gone into procuring rescue equipment, we don't have infrared scanners, no heat signature scanners, no fibrescope, snake cameras, no audio listening devices, no laser finders, no magnetic lifts. The state cant enforce building rules and they cant provide adequate emergency response, people will die as a result of double negligence.
SportsRe: Salah Or Drogba? Which African Forward In The Premier League Would You Choose by gabicon: 3:16pm On Oct 30, 2021
Ahmad62:
Liverpool star Mohamed Salah has become the highest-scoring African player in Premier League history after a phenomenal hat-trick against Manchester United.

The Egyptian was in scintillating form once again as the Reds ran riot at Old Trafford, scoring for the 10th consecutive league game and his 15th goal in just 12 games (in all competitions) this season.

The 29-year-old first set up Naby Keita for the opening goal and played a role in the build-up to Diogo Jota's strike for the second.

With his treble, it means Salah has now scored 107 goals in the top flight, helping him surpass retired Chelsea legend Didier Drogba on 104.

What is more remarkable is that Drogba needed 254 games to rack up his goals total with eight seasons spent in the Premier League.

Meanwhile, Salah has featured in only 167 games, with 154 for Liverpool and 13 at Chelsea which produced only two goals.

There remains a chance his Liverpool team-mate Sadio Mane could join him at the summit, with the Senegalese seven goals back on 100.

But Salah's incredible form, which has seen him net in every game this season aside from the 2-0 win over Burnley, would surely protect his lead for now over Mane.

Salah has already broken several records this season, becoming the quickest player to reach 100 Premier League goals for Liverpool earlier this season.
They are two great player's however, they belong to two different eras, quantifying the effectiveness of the players based on different era they played in is somewhat difficult to do at the moment. Will Messi standout playing in the pele era? Will Salah be as effective playing in the Drogba era I'm not certain.
