The child was very fortunate. Doesn't in any way make this practice any less barbaric in 2019 where there are alternatives to explore.

When blood transfusion came about, the health care system was a little advanced already. But lets assume it wasn't even till now...would you agree to drink up a bowl of another person's blood sip by sip to save your life?
What makes it barbaric? Are the alternatives readily available in Nigeria? Does it now justify letting the child die?

The JW can afford lengthy court cases. Why don't they invest that money into building hospitals and employing JW staff. That way they can practise their beliefs

lies. Supreme Court judgement can be interpreted anyhow by court. This is just a judicial precedence meaning it can only help your case if you are in court for a similar case but it won't prevent you from being sued. And remember, Jehovah witness is a stubborn set. Even if the case is straight forward, they will still take you to court for transfusing their sect members and will still pursue the case to the supreme Court. Wether you win or not is Immaterial, the stress, the money and the time and the emotional trauma that you will pass through will be too much . Moreso, remember the baby didn't die yet they took them to court. Imagine after transfusion the baby still dies.... creating another scenario. They will now say even with the blood the baby died.... meaning the blood was not necessarily what would save the baby etc. There are too many scenarios in law and medical practice, a doctor should play safe and smart so they won't use you as a scapegoat
I guess they should stubbornly build their own hospitals and employ JW doctors, nurses, staff...so that they won't keep suing for suing sake

People take in blood and still die, contract hepatitis/ aids, discover allergies and mutated blood group/genotype etc . Who gets sued when these happen?
That is always their argument. Are they praying or hoping that their child would contact any of these? What is the ratio of those that contact them through blood to the ones that don't?

In this case, did the child contact any?

It's not an African thing. In the US, the parents would win the case. I read that the doctors hardly interfere with the JW beliefs as regards blood transfusion

Or maybe you love the fact that he gives you Money?

Pls dont be confused.

I know people would try to play on the "benefit of the doubt"

But I am sure with her attitude, she was immature for the fame especially with her being married.

She needed a loy of advices and mentorship which i guess she did not get.

The modelling industry is not somewhere to venture in without a strong mind.
And you are still concluding based on assumptions.

How do you know she is immature? What if he is the immature one?

You can only conclude and judge her based on facts. But you don't have any considering you are not an insider.

I got married recently, I am probably much younger than you are, I was practically in your shoes .
I wouldn't want to give to much details, because privacy is important, but I would say this :
No matter what happens, stand your ground, there is only so much resistance a father can give no matter how strict he is or thinks he is .
I didn't give her belle, I married her because she was a gem I couldn't afford to lose. The kind of girl you only see in fairy tales .
If your wife to be is that kind of girl, don't lose her because of your father's decision. You would regret it for the rest of your life. Just be sure she is worth the fight, if she is. STAND YOUR GROUND.You are a man .

Try and find diplomatic ways to resolve it, pray also a whole lot, you have no idea how much prayers can move mountains.Every man has a weak point, find your father's weak point and use it against him, play the fool if you have to and at the end of the day the end goal is getting your wife.

If the drama gets too much she might leave you, trust me, women don't like too much drama no matter how much they love you, especially in this case when she has been with you this long.

If your father is still "doing strong head", please go to your in-laws collect the list and pay her dowry . You already said they trust you. She is marrying you and not your father, from what you said, its not like he doesn't like the girl, he just wants to be stubborn. But I know he would come around, find his weak point and use it against him and win him over, that's what I did.

Don't suffer a life time of regret losing the love of your life because you couldn't stand up to your father. This is one of of your first tests of being a true man. Please pass it
Marriage26

UPDATE : Since you are Christian consider this bible passage. I reminded myself of it almost everyday :
The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord, as the rivers of water: he turneth it whithersoever he will. Prov 21 VS 1
Make sure you and bae pray and fast fervently together. No battle is insurmountable as long as the person no be God, there is a solution.
Marriage26 please go with this advice.

Not all parents act in wisdom, they just act according to their selfish interests and try to show that they are boss.

Forget all that getting father's blessings or whatever and elder sees sitting down nonsense. Sometimes they use it to manipulate their kids. Act like a man not a kid that is scared of his papa

This girl will live to regret this thing she did if true.

And it is also shameful that TY Bello left her on her own not mentoring her appropriately.

All I can only see is that TY Bello used this girl for her own public glory, If not she should try and talk some sense into this girl's head,

Oh! I just remembered she sef never marry. Hope she is wise enough though.

This girl just fell victim of sacrificing family for career. Modelling is not a job for her.

She will keep falling victim.

Edited.

TY Bello is married with Twins.

Thanks to people who replied me.
I think we are quick to jump into conclusions.

Were they legally married? Was he caring for her before the fame? Or did he just tag along when he saw that she had blown?

Is the man himself happy and fulfilled in the marriage or he is just there for the fame?

There are many questions to be asked before tagging her. But Nigerians are too judgemental especially towards women. See that one openly calling her "olosho". It is a pity

He simply means, BUY SUBMISSION.

Why then do they cry when some women say they do not want broke men?

I don't even know why people are attacking him, he only said the mind of lots of Nigerian men. Wasn't it on this same Nairaland that one went on a 2k date, only to come back emasculated because the girl gave herself a treat.

If you see the average Nigerian man talking about his worth in a relationship, it ends at MONEY. If you see his female counterpart talking her own, it ends at WIFELY DUTIES (sex and domestic chores).

The man is scared of the woman having more money, because he will lose his hold, since he knows he has nothing else. The woman is scared of the man being a hit and run because she wonders how many more will hit and run.

Outside these things, they are totally clueless and useless to someone who desires and wants more.
Gaspardd and evercurious won't like this.

i know that you are married, if you were to choose between Mr man without no house, no job , lives with his parent because of lack of cash but you love him AND Mr man with a self contained house, have a job but little pay but with potential, does live with his parent?

sincerely speaking who will you choose?

And if you read my post, it said a man does not have to be a millionaire or billionaire to be in marriage but he needs to have some amont of money for upkeep and taking care of the house.
Even a slow person knows that a man that still lives with his parents is not ready or even qualified to get married.

Again I say... money is important but it is not what holds a marriage together.

When you go for marriage counseling before you get married, you will learn a lot. And after being married for a while, you will know that money is very key but it is not the foundation for a marriage.

All this people attacking the guy, just pray you don't enter into this kind of mess. Because where I live, I mean the house. The woman is richer than her husband that's how she shouts on him every time. Infact the man has no other option than to leave the house when her madness starts. In this life that's a way you'll talk to a man as a woman, you'll talk out the N from the spelling of MAN, and the man will become Ma.and that's exactly what she does because of her money. All this rich woman they behave like confused people most of the times
That is just one that you cannot use to judge everyone. I also know of a family. It was after the husband died and the inlaws were coming to claim property that they realized that the woman was the breadwinner. Even the children didn't know because she would give the husband the school fees to give them. The respect they had for the woman was huge.

There are many homes where the woman is the breadwinner and there is peace. We always like to cite the negative stories especially when dealing with gender issues, marriage, etc.

Having a good self esteem is different from being egoistic.

If women can be richer in peace and not see their men as less a man for being poorer, then no problems. But the issue is that many Nigerian ladies would see the man as a weakling and less a man the moment they start earning more money than the man.
The result is usually an unhappy wife who is always angry and bitter at whatever the man does or says.
That time they'll start wishing they were that dependent housewife next door who stays at home gossiping while their husband goes to work.
In fact, some of such ladies would even start cheating on the man with other men whom they consider richer and alpha males.
No man wants to put up with all those drama, hence they kuku go for a fulltime housewife with whom they can manage the much they earn.
It'll continue that way until Nigerian ladies understand that they are not being sent to schools and given high paying jobs only for them to become a liability to a man.
Until that time when they'll not only love to work and earn money for themselves and families, but would not wish otherwise.
Many men cannot handle it because money is their way of controlling their wives. They wield power because they are the ones with the money.

So it is hard for such men to relinquish that power by letting the wife have more money. They can no longer be the god they want to be.

The best way is to live without competition or lording over each other with money. It is just a terrible orientation and mindset that has been fed overtime.
