FatherOfJesus:
Ladies do not marry for maturity sake, these days it doesn’t even play a major role. What matters now to ladies is that man that has the financial capabilities to meet her needs.
Obviously the ladies you know. One shoe doesn't fit all.

FatherOfJesus:
Maturity from the man’s end and gimmicks from that of the lady.
Abeg, can you marry a matured man without money?

If maturity is the key then we have a lot of matured men in the village who don’t have money, go and marry them. Maturity without money in a marriage is useless abeg, na eternal suffering.
Seems you are skilled at jumping into conclusions.

My comment clearly didn't say maturity from only the man. And neither did it say maturity was the only factor for marriage.

But apparently, you have preconceived notions about an institution that you are obviously blank about.
Romance › Re: What Does A Man Stand To Gain In Marriage by ImaIma1(f): 10:00am On Apr 01, 2021
FatherOfJesus:
Marriage is not also a factor that determines whether a man is mature or not. The society made it seems so.
But one major factor needed for marriage is maturity. If not, a man can beat his wife to death because she didn't make his pap the way he wanted it.
Romance › Re: What Does A Man Stand To Gain In Marriage by ImaIma1(f):
FatherOfJesus:
its not compulsory to marry don’t take it personal because people now see the problems in it
Of course it's not by force to marry. Marriage is not for everyone. Not everyone has the patience and selflessness to build one.

Besides, it is better not to venture into what you don't understand.

FatherOfJesus:
how did you know I’m not above 45?

Not everyone wants to be in that cage of a women frustrating ones life.
As I said, when maturity comes, marriage doesn't have to be explained or justified.
Romance › Re: What Does A Man Stand To Gain In Marriage by ImaIma1(f): 6:46pm On Mar 31, 2021
FatherOfJesus:
Your emotional blackmail won’t work.
There’s nothing special about marriage, it’s a social construct and continuity can happen without it.
Abeg no lock us
Emotional blackmail indeed.

Come back when you are 45 and still single and with this same mindset.

I think people with good marriages need to start promoting the institution because in the future its going to be baby mama and father approach
No need to promote marriage. As one gets older, their matured eyes are opened and they see things not from a boy's point of view but a man's.

When op gets to that stage, he will remember this thread as part of the excesses of immaturity.

No beating is justified. If the woman should die in your hands, I hope your lawyer can argue for you in court that it is because she was a feminist.

Lol. Same question I used to ask myself when I see them on Instagram.

We should all pray never to fail in our parental duties, especially giving a child education. Once you fail in this, you lose 87.143% of your hold on your kids.

Take a look at Otedola. If he tells Cuppy to jump, she’ll ask how high. It is not because he is rich, it is because he has not failed in his duties as a FATHER. So no matter how she rebels, she will still remember she owes him a lot.

Now you see these small small girls going naked on IG? A lot of them left their parents in Asaba, Illorin and Amukoko to come hustle in Lagos/Lekki and environs. Some are the ones paying the fees of their younger ones at the tender age of 23. Some are the ones paying the rent of the houses they live in with their families.

Remember that small one that Lil Frosh beat up? What is a small girl like that doing alone in a Lekki apartment? Considering she isn’t from an influential home. She left her family to come hustle. Not get a degree, but HUSTLE.

So, forget about where their parents are, Power has changed hands. Na them be the parent now.
You got it.

The way the father will be calling to tell them the younger ones are at home because of school fees or the mother is ill.

Is that supposed to be her job? What is his own job?

Mile18:
Good morning Nairaland, so I decided to create this thread because of my little niece, she's been living with me since jss2 and she's currently in ss1,first of I know kids don't talk to their parents about how they feel.

So I've told her right from when she started living with me to always talk to me,and if she can't she can talk to her mom this i have told her countless times.

On why I created this thread, I bought two phones one for myself, one for my nephew and I gave the old phone hot 5 to her, so she can stop troubling my phone, Immediately she created a fb accont.

After like some days I was just curious so I created another account and i added her up, we started chatting and this is what I found, what's the best way to go about it, tell her mom or talk to her myself.
The number one problem is you still seeing her as your "little niece". When I saw the topic, I was expecting a 5 or 6 year old. An SS1 girl is already experiencing puberty and learning new things.

Maybe you should talk to her about relationships appropriate for her age. Let her understand that there will be enough time to have boyfriends. That having them now will affect her studies.

But also, tell her to let you know if she likes any guy or kind of encourage her to tell you when she has a boyfriend so that you can monitor and advise her. Because it is inevitable at this point.

First paragraph is closer to what Reno meant. Maybe he didn't say it plainly enough. Dont worry, I have said it clearly.

Your second paragraph is funny, you and who are the 'we'?? grin grin. He has been saying so many things from religion,to economy and relationships from way back, so which succour is he giving broke men? They need money and food, not mere words of online comfort. He personally gave out 2.3M on palliatives during the lockdown. That's who I call a doer, not just a talker

On your last paragraph, that's subjective. I find his talks enlightening enough.
What I saw online thst Reno said didn't include spending frivolous. It was spending at all.

My last paragraph is as objective as day. Show me one man who has never spent N100 on his girlfriend, then you can term it subjective. Even you forming amazon here have spent your money on your girlfriend, no matter how little.

LordKO:
Erudite Imalma1, no. Kneeling is definitely not part of submission; that should be distinct to their tribal culture or faith.

Meanwhile, oppression and exploitation aren't part of submission and love, but most people have misconstrued them to be, and that I know is the main reason why some people don't like to hear about either of the words or feel that anyone who's a proponent and practitioner of them is either a weak person or an evil person.

Genuine love (submission) remains the greatest refreshment in life.
Good. Because the way this kneeling down keeps flying around, it's starting to stick. We don't kneel in my culture and my husband has never expected me to do so.

Even that deceptive kneeling to feed your husband at wedding receptions, I didn't do o...lol. I rather sat on his laps and fed him grin.

Thanks for your imput, the one and only LordKO.

So I broke with this overly disrespectful lady who felt because her business fetched her millions monthly she could rub on my face, nevertheless I won back my respect but God damn it, I miss her local efo riro with dawadawa ( Locust Bean ), dried fish and red oil from Onitsha.

What is that one thing that you miss the most about your ex?
I feel you men! I love that soup. I had it last night with white rice and even bought more dried fish to add to it. It's easy to cook anyway wink

LordKO:
Only women who've low self-esteem will tell you that submission is a sign of weakness, same as only men who've low self-esteem will tell you that love is a sign of weakness.

By the way, the core difference between love and submission remains their application due to biological differences in both genders. Both genders are equal, but different. Difference doesn't mean inequality.

Meanwhile, the biggest dummy ever sold to wannabe woke blacks anywhere is that the modern White families don't practice love and submission anymore - definitely not the aristocratic White families.
But LordKO, does submission have to come with kneeling down to do things for our husbands. That was in the olden olden days, because I never even saw my mum kneel to serve my dad or my aunties.

Should submission be attached to kneeling down?
Foreign Affairs › Re: President Samia Suluhu: I Submit To My Husband, Still Kneel For Him (Video) by ImaIma1(f): 10:57am On Mar 25, 2021
They have started. She has to prove to the world that her position doesn't affect her submission to her husband. This is becoming a cliché.

How many women even kneel down these days to serve their husbands? cheesy. Please raise your hands if your wife kneels down to serve your food o.

Well, it's good to know, Madam President. Keep kneeling..
Romance › Re: Spending Money On A Woman You Are Dating Is Stupidity - Reno Omokri Tells Men by ImaIma1(f): 10:47am On Mar 25, 2021
luminouz:
His exact words were "spending money on a woman just because you are dating her,is not generosity but stupidity'. Then, he used a phone as a reference, which I quoted. Check his original post. I'm sure he wasn't talking of fishroll or pencil or coke. You implied that.

Then, why are you so bothered? His audience is men, not women. If the topic was 'women who spend money on men they date are stupid', I'd understand he was insulting your gender. He said that because men are always in the habit of spending needlessly in relationships and that's not proof of love(to women, maybe, since they are the major gainers) and should prioritize. You keep pushing the narrative that's not possible for men not to SPEND, neglecting addressing it to the women as well, EXACTLY what Reno is saying. Subtly pushing the narrative that men must spend as proof of love is what I don't agree with. It's a relationship. Women don't love or are allergic to opening their wallets? You said you spend on your man right? Then, maybe you are one of the few outliers. But Reno and most of us here know that relationship these days is like a never ending mudafucking daycare.
If his quote was "spending needlessly/ frivolously on a woman just because you are dating is stupidity" it would have been more understandable.

Reno knows the situation of the country and how people are struggling. We know he is trying to appeal to the average guy who thinks he is broke. He knows it will give them succour and argument points.

But he can do it with a little more sense. Well...it's Reno, he can't help but talk and most times, nonsense.
