PrimadonnaO: Your mum isn't cool. These are the kind of families I know I can't marry into. Instead of OP to have respectfully told his mother it wasn't right of her to expect his girlfriend to launder her clothes, he was there saying he'll talk to her.
Talk to her about what, oga?
It pains me when people see the truth and still remain blinded by sentiment. And some guys here are saying there's nothing wrong with washing her MIL's clothes. If I were the babe, I would have gone to call one of the younger ones to come help the mum. In fact, I won't even have any business going to visit without my man to avoid see finish. |

Raalsalghul: I can't believe you just asked the bolded.
Anything wrong in wanting the right partner for your kids?
Go ahead and criticize the MIL as you like, but in about 25 to 30 years from now, you would likely do the same.
Her approach might be wrong, but she has the right intentions. I can assess people without giving them funny tests. Because even the best of people could fail a test for whatever reason. My mum didn't do any stupid tests for my brother's wife and they have been married for close to 15yrs. My mum would only advise and push you in the right direction and tell you " you are the one that will live with the person, not me. So pick wisely". I didn't do chores in my inlaw's house and I am still married. So all these MIL expecting the girl to be a slave to prove that she's good enough for her son is a scam. Just the MIL trying to exact authority and complicate matters. |

1F30M4: Your mum should be more bothered that she has 6 children right under her roof there and none of them could assist her with laundry but nooo she'd rather look for faults in your fiancèe and then tell you how she isn't the one for you
Omolomo went the first time, helped her with the laundry, even stood while washing, as per wife material 1000yards Mama still talk sey she no wash am well (to her own standard).. Sisi Iyawo decided to visit Mama again, this time alone so she can bond well with her dear Iya oko but she "apparently" forgot her "home training" at home and Iya oko isn't having all of that.. Today, your wife offended me o, tomorrow your wife offended me sha, next tomorrow your wife offended me ni, everyday your wife offended me ni sha but don't tell her o, she must find out on her own and apologize to me.. Edakun werriz the peace tori oloun smh I don't envy you at all at all.. Waiiit for the one that will pass all Mama's tests you hear, just don't be tired of waiting. The best thing is for the fiancee to avoid going to visit the woman except with her man. What is she looking for? But some women can complain sha. I remember my friends in secondary school. Their grandma (father's side) came to spend hols with them. The first day they made eba for her, the woman complained that it was too soft. The second day, she complained that it was too strong. On the 3rd day, the girls boiled water and put the garri, bowl and turning stick and went to grandma "grandma abeg come and turn your eba" . The womam shock but she understood them perfectly. Not everyone can stomach all that kind of wahala. Imagine they did that to their grandma. One MIL cannot come and stress them unnecessarily. |

Anigreat:

It sounds so ridiculous bro, but again, the girl didn't try at all. She should atleast try and help in the washing. Those are the things our mothers looked out for in a girl. Some will deliberately go to kitchen and start cooking, just to observe and see the girl's reaction, if she'll join them there to help. Failure for the girl to do so, they instantly mark her X . All these things are simple test, if the girl knows it, she'll just be playing along. I don't believe in eye service at all. Why would I go to visit my future MIL and she expects me to wash her clothes especially when she has children that can do it. It is wrong. Even when my hubby took me to meet his mum in another state and we stayed for days, I hardly did a chore. He has younger ones. I think I cooked for them once but aside that, they didn't let me do any chore. Since my husband had picked me to be his wife, why would his mum need to test me? |

descarado: I blame the desperate girl who want to marry by all means. Eye service has killed many young marriages cos u will start hearing stuffs like" she or he changed after marriage Mbok.
Why will I visit the mum in the first place? Don't I have self respect? Visit with your guy officially and go your way. The way you present yourself is how you will be treated. Full stop. Maybe she wanted to bond with her MIL, meanwhile the MIL wanted her to start doing chores. See finish is a problem with inlaws. If she had stayed in her house, no one will call her disrespectful. She should only follow her bf when he's going there. |

Shebi your girlfriend should have just sat down in her own house jeje. Now your mother is expecting her to wash her clothes to show that she's a wife material. Meanwhile you have younger ones.
What are the younger ones doing when your mum is washing? Why can't she call them to come and wash the clothes. Should your mum even be washing when she has children there. But she is not calling her own children disrespectful. It is your fiancée she wants to drag.
Let your fiancée to make herself scarce to avoid see finish. |

grossintel: I can't respond to everyone nor modify the post so I pick a few and hope others see it. No, they where not expecting any money and even if they where certainly not 100k. When I finally spoke to her Mom the following day, I gave them the benefit of doubts and paid close attention.
She said they where expecting money from a man, but this man hadn't been picking their calls so even after the money was transferred to them, they tried calling this man again but he still didn't pick. So technically he was avoiding them! Remember they said initially its a friend from abroad? But now she said it's a church member who promised to send them money sometime ago when they reached out to him. This was after I asked how they could make calls to the US considering you'll have to add country code and all and how expensive it can be.
Then she went on to say, they concluded he wasn't the one. And thought maybe it's the same angel who randomly sent them 10k in December. So technically this had happened before and they didn't hesitate to spend it without verifying the source. She also stressed the fact that there was no food for weeks now at home, and she's sorry for taking what doesn't belong to them that her husband and suggested they wait till Monday but she insisted they use it because they are in desperate need for money.
I asked her what's left, she said 40k. But they can run around and make it 50k, then later she said they can make it 60k. I just knew they still had a lot left but I told them not to worry and send the 40k so they don't go borrowing. I took the blame, told them I agreed someone was supposed to send them 100k for food items so it's understandable they thought it was from this person.
So people saying am wicked and shiit, like I'm trying to harrase the family didn't read or understand my post. I never even spoke to them until the next day when I was calm because I knew speaking to them at the heat of things won't be a good idea. Till today, her dad still owes me 50k for their last child school fees he borrowed a year ago which he promised to payback the following month when he gets his salary. I wrote it off instantly, and initially planned to tell him "Daddy don't worry, use that to get yourself something nice" when he tries to refund me. He even used the word "I promise you" He never called to let me know his challenges or make attempts to acknowledge he borrowed money but couldn't pay. That one died like that, so when they started telling all these stories I knew it wasn't true.
I love their daughter, else I won't even be in contact with her family to begin with. It's not worth crashing our relationship and future together, but I'll definitely be wary of her family when it involves money. Anything I'm going to give them has to go through her, never saving their account number again. It's not justifiable to spend what doesn't belong to you because it entered your account. If you think it's perfectly okay, there is no difference with you and an average Yahoo boy because that's exactly what they do. Yes, know how you relate with them in terms of money because it is obvious they cannot resist temptation when it comes to money. And they are obviously constantly in need of it, because they had no justification to spend money they were not sure of. I think you have handled it well and have already learnt your lesson and know how to relate with them henceforth. |

Parents will keep giving birth to children that they know they cannot cater for, and later burden one child with all the responsibilities.
Only bother yourself with important requests. All those iPhones or lavish stuff should not be encouraged. Let them make their own money for those frivolous items. If not, you will make them lazy and forever dependent on you.
And if you dare get married, that wife will be their greatest enemy because to them, she is an intuder that came from nowhere to reap where she did not sow, and reduce their ration.

Give her 1k for food and you are so sure to have some change back. She so adjusted and practically turned to almost a village girl then. Supports me when I'm down and about givin up. She ofcourse is not perfect because no one is. We all have our flaws, but the beautiful thing is her good deeds and heart outshines all other negativities when measured. Just an ordinary average guy like me, even when the mighty are falling head over heels just to have a talk with her. Any girl that can go through such hurdles is worth doing anything for, but unfortunately they are so very few. See how pretty and natural she looks. The truth is that many guys will chase those high priced high maintenance girls who survive by billing guys. You will see them looking hot on snapchat, IG, Twitter. When the babe now starts exhibiting her traits, they will open a thread and scream Nigerian girls. When they go for flashy over substance, what do they expect? |

lecturer50: Please house I need an advice.
Ever since I got a federal government job,
my relatives have been disturbing me for money.
There must always be an issue that involves money which they want me to solve.
Recently, my mom become sick.
They are threatening me that I would be held responsible if my mom dies,if I don't make sure she is cured.
But I have taken her to hospitals, and she is trying to recover.
I do this whenever I visit home since I am working in a state far from home.
Her health challenge is due to old age.
But today my uncle called me that I should resign, get back to the village and personally take care of my mom,
failure of which,if she dies, the whole family would hold me responsible for choosing job over my mom.
Can you imagine resigning your federal job to get to the village and start staying?
The calls, the demands, the attacks are getting too much for me.
Please should I just switch off my phone so that no one can contact me?
I just need advice? Are you the only child? If you resign to go and stay by her side, where will the money come from for the bills? What have her relatives done for her except to drag you because you have a job? Our African culture makes it frustrating for one family member to do well. He has to carry the weight of the whole family upon his shoulders and they won't appreciate it. Instead, they think it's their entitlement. Someone is saying he should set up a provision store, another is saying he should send half of his salary. Is it that easy to set up a store like that? How will the sick mum run the store? When family members run it to the ground, they will come back and expect you to vomit out more money for another business. Please keep helping your mum as much as you can. But quitting your job to go and take care of her is not a good move because money will be needed. |

Sixfeetbelle: It's not greed. You're saying that because you're viewing this from one angle but I'll show you another angle to thing.
Two months ago, my mom asked me to transfer money to a man who did manual work for her. Normally, once I do the transfer, the receiver gets it immediately, but that day in particular, network was from the devil. The man called almost every hour wanting to know what was holding the money. Something I started trying around 11am was finally sent around 7pm. Now imagine if sometime in the afternoon, a mistake transfer had entered the man's account and he assumed it was from me. Would you say he's greedy for spending money he was already expecting? I understand your angle. But the person they were expecting money from, was it 100k too? 100k is not small money. Did they reach out to the person to say "we have seen it o" or "was it you that sent it?" I worked in a bank and I know that people spend money that was mistakenly paid into their accounts and when you call them, their excuse is always " I was expecting money"...all of them. Was that the amount you were expecting. Imagine one of such people that from his account history had never received more than 15k. Someone mistakenly paid over 100k into his account and he said he was expecting some money and had already spent almost half. The parents were too quick to spend that amount without any sort of confirmation. It's 100k, not 10k. |

He could have simply said "I am John D calling from bank. That wouldnt hurt. That said, the lady should have been cautious as a job seeker that was just interviewed and expecting phone calls. Lets call a spade a spade please. The HR person is not at fault. I am in HR too and even if you don't introduce yourself first, the person answering a call is obligated to be polite until given a reason not to be. The statement that annoys me most when answering a call is " who gave you my number" as if the number is a priced possession. I am a lady but I am friendly on the phone to male/female unknown callers because it's common sense. People, especially ladies should learn to be polite over the phone and to strangers. twoMcfemad: This Happened this Morning
My wife looked over our balcony and somehow she saw our Neighbour's Kids- a boy aged 4 and a girl aged 7 of the same parent having sex behind the house close to the fence.
She came to call me and what I saw was unbelievable; we were upstairs so they didn't realize someone was watching.
For like 10 minutes, we stood to watch in amazement the acts the kids performed- it was purely an adult scene as the kids performed different styles to an extent that the girl had to rub the boy's Joystick and force him to suck her nipples when he couldn't maintain an erection.
I wanted to stop them at first but It was like I was dreaming but at one point called the girl and the two were shocked to see us. They quickly put on their clothes and ran.
I am thinking of telling their parent what we saw but I am afraid they'll defend their kids and take it to be false.
Our relationship with the parent is just Good Morning and that's all.
I don't know where they saw what they performed as this morning show wouldn't be their first time, but I guess they saw their parent doing such.
Shall I tell their parent or... ? Instead of you both to stop them, you watched the movie for 10mins. Hmmmmm |

The young girl use the handle of a kitchen knife to deflower herself. Did you know why? Her father, a millonaire allowed her all the toys money could buy. Imagine a well guarded 11year old with an Iphone! Shun that mentality of, 'my children no go smell poverty'. Discipline in the long run pays off. Expensive toys is not the problem. It's how the kids are brought up. Kids that didn't grow up with much are not necessarily better. The street doesn't teach morals and manners. The ones who grew up in poverty still do worse than the privileged ones. Good upbringing should be emphasized |

It is obvious somewhat that her post/tweet is not in support of our darling Daddy, BUT, she is only out to point out the truth, challenging and encouraging the youths to come out enmasse and vote for the candidates of their dreams that they know will move their immediate environment and the nation at large forward.
But, predictably, she has forgotten that some of these so called youths are not called lazy youths for nothing, 70% of them will never read past the headlines before they open their stinking mouth to start abusing and cursing her (their only traits, the only thing they have going for them in their miserable and frustrated lives, abuses, curses, trolling....)
How we wish many of her contemporaries will retweet, repost, share these Golden words on their platforms, so we can all move this nation forward together (we have no other country to call our own).
