Romance › Re: Spending Money On A Woman You Are Dating Is Stupidity - Reno Omokri Tells Men by ImaIma1(f):
luminouz:
I guess we are both at an impasse then.

I don't need to LOVE you or date you to give you stuffs. That's my own point. I give because it's necessary. I have met girls whose only investment in a relationship is two words..."BUY ME". They can't think past it. To them, you must spend on them to show you love them. That's what Reno is countering, the entitlement mentality that makes a woman lazy to the bone. It's nobody duty to spend on you. It's a relationship, not a job. Whatever you want, work and treat yourself and anything your man/woman gives you will just be a bonus.
I remember a story here of a MIL telling her daughter that her fiance came to her house that day without a gift, even grumbling that she gave him soft drink sef. That dude has been coming with gifts before. So because he didn't come that day, she complained. That shouldn't be for God's sakes. It's that kind of thinking that I find issues with.

I'm glad that your own mindset on the issue worked for you. Mine has been working for me too.
One love
What Reno said is...spending money on someone you are dating is stupidity. Meaning that you should not spend even one naira, whether it is on food, water, drinks, tissue paper, pad, etc. He did not say on school fees, house rent, phones, neither did he mention girls with entitlement mentality. You implied that.

He is saying you shouldn't even buy gala and bottle water for her when you buy for yourself in traffic. Do you do that? I don't think so.

Have you ever dated a girl and you didn't spend even on her bus fare as you guys were together or bought her roadside donut and pure water or taken her to an eatery? I don't think so.

So if you could spend money on people you don't know or like. Will you withhold spending money on the girl you are dating simply because you are dating and you don't want to be termed stupid by Reno?

That is my point. Nobody can date without spending money, whether it is fishroll you buy or pencil or coke. It's not possible. Money will be spent.

Well, I think you really didn’t understand her perfectly.

Better put, you can give without loving the person (even though giving is an act of love itself) but you can NEVER claim to love without GIVING. It’s a simple everyday stuff and logic.

Everyone can decide to run their relationships the way it works for them and according to their level of understanding.

Peace!
Exactly my point.

I like your calm disposition on this matter. So lemme explain small.

I once gave a menstruating lady(whose clothes were stained), my shirt and paid her bike care home and I went home with singlet. I didn't love her. I just helped her.
I housed a guy for two weeks, feeding him everyday because he lost his job and wanted to commit suicide. I didn't love him. I just wanted to help a fellow Nigerian.

I also have several cases like that. I didn't love them, necessity made me help.

Love is not what makes me spend money, necessity is. I won't look at my gf and suddenly open my wallet and dash her money because she is fine or something. I treat her normally. What I give her is what I have given to girls and guys I am not dating, so my giving is not based on love but necessity.

I agree with Reno on this one, especially the phone, house rent, school fees part. Most girls have this entitlement mentality to your money and even slut shame you when you don't give them money. I believe in a hardworking woman, not a leech.
If you can spend for people you don't love, how much more those dear to your heart...

I don't agree with Reno. Spending is not about paying house rent, school fees or taking over responsibility for someone. For me, just walking by a shop and I see something my man will love and I buy it, or shopping for myself and buying something for him too.

Even Reno cannot swear that he dated his wife without spending a dime. When we mention spending, people think of buying iPhone, school fees and being billed by leeches they date.

When my husband and I were dating, he bought me a gift every month till we got married. Now, he spontaneously buys them. And I bought him things a lot too.

Reno doesn't know what he is saying. It is convenient for him to say it right now that he is married. It's just like a married man condemning fornication because he's married, meanwhile he was a chief fornicator when he was single.

What is love?

Giving is not always about money
Sincerely ask yourself if you can date someone you love without spending one naira. I am.not talking about theory or quotes. I am talking of real life.

Even for our siblings, we spend. Reno cannot be right everytime. He is a human being and his words cannot be law.

The upbringing was soft and that is what is showing up now. When I was taking care of my nephews, I could scoldand discipline them but still showed them love. Children need some kind of blend of both, especially from parents.

When they feel they can walk over you, they will disrespect you and call your bluff. Stop being the nice aunt or sister that wants to be in their good books. They will even value and respect the ones that discipline them.
Family › Re: Fear Women by ImaIma1(f): 2:12pm On Mar 24, 2021
What a selfish and cunning wife! She can't support the one that she claimed to love and cherish.

I don't even know how to qualify her behaviour...so deceptive. The man is really brave to still remain in that marriage with someone that can kill him in his sleep.

Pls,have they found the importance of junior waec because after taking junior waec I have not use that result and it keeps making me angry because I knew how many bags of water I sold just to take that exam.my problem now is that my housecleaner met me to help her with close to 20k to register her child for this exam.i told her that it is useless and won't stop her child from entering senior class, she was sad but I insisted that the money would be useful in feeding other kids she have(5).

Pls is junior waec now compulsory because it wasn't for me, should I give her then turn a blind eye when she comes for other wahala...lol... opinion pls.
If the exam is not optional, i don't think you should advise your housekeeper to disallow her son from taking it because you don't have the funds. Instead, let her find other ways to come up with the money.

Junior WAEC is needed to proceed to the next class.

Everybody has their best time There is no fixed age that people must tie the knot.
Exactly!

Because these same points by the op can be a disadvantage.

Some people marry early and get bored and later they look for something new.

Some marry early and are too immature to handle the marriage and they grow apart or divorce.

A lady could marry early and start having kids while going to school. It could affect her grades and performance.

Some couples that married very early don't end up having children till they are in their 40s. There are no assurances.

Marrying early is good but not a guarantee for the best marriage.

When next you see two of them eating, just say it like a joke "so you have abandoned eating with me since your mum came abi".

If she has a good mum, the mum will advise her to go back to eating with you. However, their reaction will let you know if your MIL is good.

There should be a caretaker of the facility to make sure it is well maintained by the owner and occupants

Christianity has done so much for Nigeria.
In Ogun and Rivers States, Winners Chapel and Salvation Ministries have built roads respectively - not to mention the schools and hospitals all the major churches have across Nigeria. In fact, schools run by the clergies are some of the best in the east. Now, they have ventured into providing cozy, zero-fee homes.

Without fear, I challenge people from the other faith to emulate Christians. It's not enough to invest in drives to further the cause of Islam in Nigeria. Islamic scholars and evangelists should do better than breeding home-grown terrorists and bandits in Nigeria. The religion should prove its relevance for God's sake.
Wait, let them finish fighting for hijab first.

Few? There are not few at all. They seem like the majority.

Why the face?

Basically all women these days want to get married but very few understands what marriage is all about.

Even though your assertion about all men from age 45 and above are cheats is very wrong, I won't deny the fact that a lot of men are being pushed into the arms of strange women, no thanks to their nagging wives at home.

Show your man love, care and comfort and watch your love grow till old age.
It takes two to tango. Showing of love and care should be reciprocal for a marriage to.grow.

AFRICA MY AFRICA

"What you see in this picture is not happening in Africa! But in the United States - in the state of Georgia, and in an American university (Georgia Gwinnett).

The black woman you see is no ordinary person on the street. She is a Professor of Biological Sciences at this university. Her name is Ramata Sissoko. It should be added that she is from Mali in Africa .

This Professor hit the headlines in the United States by her humane gesture, relayed by thousands on Twitter.

That day, a student mother who could not find a babysitter for her baby and had to come to class with the child.

The Malian teacher, instead of sending the student to the door for the child's crying, was rather taken with compassion ... like a real African woman.

She took the baby from the student, carried it on her back in a typical African style and taught the lesson for three hours.

The child, very comfortable on her back, did not make a single noise during the three hours she gave the lesson. All the students could not believe.

Your topic says it's her baby while your write up says it's a student's baby. Hmmm

1. This was just a speach by the military governor, not the law enacted to change the status of the schools.

2. The speech was delivered in 1972 not 74. I assume ( Not sure) the last time schools status were changed was 1974.

3. If these conditions were still relevant and backed by the law, where did the high court and appeal court get the legal backing to rule in favor of hijab?

4. Why are Christians afraid of hijab in a predominantly Yoruba state like Kwara?

There's no basis for any Christian to condemn hijab in Kwara state due to the following reasons:

a. Kwara and all Yoruba States has no record of hijab wearing suicide bomber.

b. Hijab is not new to Christianity. Catholic sisters wear something very similar.

c. Hijab depicts morality, is Christianity no longer a moral religion?

d. Hijab is optional even to the Muslims, no one is forcing the Christians to wear it.

I AM DONE TALKING
For number 4, the question should be why is the government bent on hijab in Christian schools?
Romance › Re: Would you date an atheist? by ImaIma1(f):

If it was mosque your parents were forcing you to go while you were growing up, don't you think you would probably be a muslim today. You would probably be of opinion that all Christians deserve eternity in hell fire because they chose not to follow Islam.

As I grow older, I no longer believe in children indoctrination. Let the kids chose their own religion when they become of age.

You should teach them how to think and how to know the truth without bias. If your religion is the truth to them, trust me, they will follow it.
Thankfully, my parents were Christians and I went to church. That cannot change now. Your comment is just hypothetical.

Even as my kids go to church, they will still learn to know the truth without bias like their dad did. Even as he grew up going a different way with his parents, he learnt the truth.

Lol grin. I dated him because;

1. Dude spoke my love languages without me ever revealing what they were - the thing bust my head die cheesy

2. He had class, great taste and a strong sense of responsibility towards self and family I admired - he still does.

3. He was older and mature, I actually like my men older than me. Like fine wine, men get better with age is not a myth at all. Younger men or the ones in my age group are in the habit of sending photos of their peepee, calling you baby or sweetheart within a short time of meeting you, it's a huge turn off and there was none of that with him.

4. We could carry on delightful conversations via chats and in person, he never texted in short hand (another thing that tripped me to pieces) our conversations were meaningful, they had depth and substance.

5. I'm a health and fitness conscious person, I liked that at his age he was trim, fit and healthy not to mention good looking cheesy and he worked out every week. It was easy to get him the ideal valentine gift last year.

6. Our first date was so cool. We did a movie @ the cinema, sat down to a light meal of pizza/ drinks afterwards and gisted for 2 hours just getting to know ourselves.

Please tell me, how could I not have dated this man? Atheist or not? I decided a long time ago that I was never going to deny myself the company of good a man, simply because a relationship won't lead to marriage.

Just answering your question has me thinking of him and all my memories of him are pleasant. It's his birthday April 1, I think I'm going to have a surprise gift delivered to him, even though we drifted apart and haven't spoken to each other for a while, I like this guy. Have I satisfied your amebo curiosity? grin
Just like you described the Muslim guy I mentioned.

Mature and older...like 9yrs older than me.

Very physically fit...we played the same sport. That's how we met.

He was rich and classy.

The truth is older men have more experience in making a woman fall for them.

I knew I would prefer a Christian and I waited. I got a perfect fit
