E be like say craze enter these two women head. See the yeye mother even saying Frances loved her daughter and were partner for several years. Foolish mother God knows how well she trained her dauighter. I just feel for the child one of them left behind thats all. |
Salam brother smokers are everywhere but could i ask with humility the objective of this thread. |
Its high time our people realise that when peaceful solution and negotiation has been made impossible then violence is inevitable. Now can someone tell me the way foward for our democracy in Nigeria. Electoral reform is a mirage The votes of the people dont count Inec is a disgrace Ekiti election is a preamble to the 2011 disaster in waiting. Why should we continue to decieve ourselves, campaign , spend money win votes and then concocted eletion results collated in police stations are announced. I dont see a solution to the Nigerian problem unless some people are exterminated to the abyss of extinction. I grieve and weep for my dear country , today is a really sad day for me honestly. |
This has been something that has caused controversies in the ummah in recent times. There is a relatively new thinking in the ummah that says when you give birth to a child on monday before maghrib the aqeeqah will be on sunday. This issue has been addressed by various scholars and no one disputes the issue of 7th day in the hadeeth but the main contest has been when do you start to count. In my humble opinion i belong to the school of thought that suggests giving birth on monday before maghrib the child will be named on Monday as well and this is according to Maliki, Hanafi and Shafi fiqh and I am not sure about Hambali though. One of the arguments of these scholars is that it is acknowledged and established in islamic fiqh that jumah is every 7 days so why is the next jumah not on Thursday if the seven days is counted like suggested. The opinion furhter illustrates that the 1st day in which the baby was born is day 0 and day 1 starts to count from the next day. Also Ramadhan (9th month) is every 12 months why is the month of fasting not in shaban(the 8th month), these are some of the arguements to illustrate the start of the count. However if the child is born after maghrib , that is counted as the next day already as the night precedes the day in Islam. We should also bear in mind the child could be named on the day of his birth and the aqeeqah mainly refers to the slaughtering of the animal, shaving of the hair and this is sunnah muaqada (compolusory sunnah) and not fard (which is an obligation and sinful if you do not do ). According to the hadith itself the slaughtering could also be done on the 14th day and 21st day or even when the child grows up if the parent cannot afford to slaughter an animal for him. The differences in interpretaion of the 7th day should not cause confusion in the ummah as this is a fiqh issue and there will always be differences in fiqh till day of judgement. And Allah knows best. |
davidylan:You will know by now i am not really the type that likes to keep going round a circle in arguement and i dont argue to win an arguement. Are you the one to tell muslims about what is holy to them? The prophet (PBUH) said in an hadith sahih that there are three main holy sites in this dDeen and the first is haram as shareef in Makkah and if a muslims does salah in this masjid he gets 100000 rewards , the second is masjid nabawi in madeenah and if a muslim does salah in this he gets 10,000 rewards and the last is, praying at the al aqsa site you get a reward of 1,000. If Jerusalam wasn’t important how come Umar conquered it, why did Salahudeen Al Ayoubi fight to capture back Jerusalem? You said al aqsa is not mentioned in the quran when you know the first verse in Surah 17 mentions al aqsa. It will be important to bring to your attention that as far as I know madeena is not mentioned anywhere in the quran whereas al aqsa is mentioned by name. davidylan:But i thoguht in my earlier post i categorically stated it is not a religous obligation to visit Jerusalem or Madeenah , what is compulsory is Hajj to to the haram in Makkah, so i do not get your point. davidylan:Excellent verbal gymnastics that in my opinion depicts your posts here on NL. You and i know i do not throw insults but same cannot be said of you unfortunately David. |
Source!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
There are three main holy sites in islam and everyone knows it is al aqsa, Haram in Makkah and Masjid nabawi in Medinah. Going on piligrimage to Makkah is a religous duty and one of the 5 pillars of islam wheareas going to Masjid nabawi and alaqsa isnt a compulsory religous obligation. Muslims over the years have visited jerusalem but nothing compare to the scale of Makkah for obvious reasons so any intelligent person will find it easy to sum up the reasons. Encouraging muslims to visit jerusalem is to increase the awareness of the importance of the holy site to muslims , just as christians and jews hold it important likewise. This thread sounds childish to me to be honest and dont think there is nothing to debate here or argue about rather we will just try to explain it as it is. Lets see if the respondents will hold their flame and rein in their insults. |
texazzpete:you need not say it is daft bro. I do share your sentiments though as this thing affects the innocent investors who suffer for nothing. The point i was trying to get across is these two men are both guilty and they should both be brought to book, i just wonder why Femi did not attend the public hearing so all the issues could be tabled and aired to nigerians. These businessmen toy with millions of nigerians feelings and it is high time they are both curtailed. The mess that goes on at the NSE is just overwhelming and the information we hear is this atrocity is not a new things its just that eugine Anenih was caught in the act. It is shameful and and sad. |
soadia2004:Not many NLenders accept when they err, kudos to you. You could know better as u said u lived in ilorin and i just base my judgement on what we read and hear abt kwara state. Fashola is an achiever no doubt about that but me just think Bukola is a good administrator with the interest of kwara at heart bearing in mind kwara was never a state that other nigerians care to know or talk about before him. |
soadia2004:You need not insult him , you could disagree and state your reasons but calling someone dat is not neccessary. Bukola owes Nigeria explanation about the bank issue no doubt but if what we hear is true he has really developed Kwara state. you could either judge him based on his perfomance or his questionable character. Fashola is doing well in Lagos no doubt but no one hear should say there are no financial misappropiration going on in Lagos. As someone who has d priviledge of knowing wots going on, the pwers that be in Lagos are not saints either when it comes to financial malpractices. |
Somebody should tell Femi to shut his mouth up. Aliko and Femi enjoyed the best times during the OBJ era and they shud bloody suffer togather.Femi is just pot calling kettle black |
Ilelobola:I feel u bro, this is quite unfortunate but it is not exclusive to Nigeria. The middle eastern countries have a different pay package based on nationalty. I work in the oil and gas industry and it is shameful what happens to people without US,canada or EU passports in those countries as welll. The indians dont have much of a choice so they grab it wholeheartedly . Equality in this terms i one of the good things i appreciate and respect in western countries. |
The idiotic thing about this german slowpoke is “Nigerians are dirty and the food is poison” how can any intelligent person generalise a people in such a demeaning manner. Why hasn’t the food kill the 150 million people in the country. I care less abt his comments about Nigerian women because even Nigerians here that go back say the same things like the naija girls are now as cheap as pure water. His comments about politicians is also true as some of these thieving politicians travel abroad but lack the necessary exposure and still suffer from complex and dats is why they wud pay to get these guys to their party. I don’t think this german guy worked in Lagos though as I don’t think any lagos politician will pay the dirty german to attend his party. |
deor03:Any proof for this please as the residents on the island cannot be up to 1 million people in my humble opinion. |
London has City airport Heathrow Gatwick Luton Stanstead These are all international airports, Lagos with a population of about 18 million clearly desrves another international airport with an excellent cargo service, aviation services and hanger lane for several private jets and chartered aircratf services. |
She could well have been tricked into sleeping with the powers that be in that prison to get her freedom or a light sentence i think. She is just 20 and could well get desperate bearing in mind no one knew she was held up in that jungle. The British authoriites came to know about it about 4 months ago i think. It seems like a fact she is guilty of that crime and might have been doing for sum time. I hope she gets a light sentence though and we have to know the truth behind the pregnancy. I am happy that this girl is now British as if she had still been Nigerian she would rot in that jail with no one knowing anything about her. |
@uplawal May Allah strenghten your faith and make your feet firm on this path of felicity may he guide u aright on this path and protect you from the whispers of the Shaitan, may he forgive u ur sins, may he benefit you with a strong islam and make u a great benefit to the muslims and shining light of islam. |
jazakallah bro its a very nice article that husbands should take heed. Its always our beautiful women that are at the recieving end evrytime and often times people forget what a man should do to make his queen happy. |
babs bro where re u based by the way, Nigeria or outside ? |
unfaded:My brotha if u said no past governor apart from Jakande i will accept. You just have to look backwards and read about the Lagos project between 1979 - 1983 under Lateef Jakande. He was a dedicated leader who did not amass wealth on the scale we see today . Out of topic : He did not build a mansion in ikoyi like our past governor has just done , his house i think is still in ilupeju area of lagos if i am not mistaken and it is nuthin extravagant. His achievements and legacy still stands tall in Lagos of today. |
Interesting indeed!!!! |
Jumah mubarak Lets remember the simple ettiquettes of jumah today like cutting of the nails if u didnt yesterday, making ghusl and men you could put some nice perfume on to the masjid. After asr is important time on fridays to make supplication the our Lord. The prophet (PBUH) when he listed the 5 times duas are speedily accepted mention a particular time on fridays and several scholars and commentators considered this time period after asr. Wallahu a'lam. may the khutbah be a testimony for us and not against us. |
Jakande spent 5 years, Marwa spent two and a half to three years , Fashola has spent 2 years. Fashola could be compared directly to marwa now and that is why in my personal opinion he his on par with as regards service to the people. In terms of infrastructure after 4 years we could compare fashola to Jakande but like i insist jakandes achievement is phenomenal even Tinubu's 8 years cannot stand close to Jakandes first three years in office. |
Been arabic doesnt mean been muslim. arab is different from muslim. Arab is a race and islam is a faith that transcends race. Severel arab christians have arabic names cos that is their language and cultutre. Tariq Azeez Saddams deputy is a christain and that is his name. Ignorance is not a good thing in the least if we read wide and get exposed beyond our bias and sentiments we would realise this big difference. There are millions of Arab christians and i am wondering if you nigerian christians will descriminate against them due to your hatred for islam. |
moneygurl:My sista true some of his projects were temporary but have u wondered why most of these stuff like schools have remained the same considering that this man got into power 30 yrs ago? PapaBrowne:Yeah true Fashola has an idea of where he his going but if you ever saw Jakandes blue print for lagos and future plan you will marvel at it. The metro we are talking about today had already reached an advance stage in planning during Jakandes tenure with all the routes already planned out. It was funding and the military coup that brought an end to it. Here we are still talking about this metro 30 yrs after. PapaBrowne:Yeah the problem is most of us were either young or non existent during jakandes tenure so we really do not know much abt it. If u speak to the older generations you will see that fashola is following the steps of this great man and towing in his direction. The dilapidated buildings u talked about are in fact in my opinion a living testimony to the greatness of the mans mind. 30 years and this building are still standing with no major strucutural damage or defects bearing in mind that these buildings were meant to be low cost housing for the general masses. This buildings remind me of the various council estates in the UK and some of my fellas here will know what i am talking about. No single governor has been able to achieve this kind of housing scheme affordable to the masses like jakande but all the housing svhemes we hear are for a selected few and mostly middle class or rich people. J Jakandes educational lagacy is phenomenal, he used the limited resources to achieve so much. The schools were substandartd in structure but they were quality in teaching then and its a shame most of these temporary structures remained the same for over 20 years especially the primary schools. Yeah and i did acknowledge the infrastructure of the oil boom era in my first posts. PapaBrowne:Marwa was exceptional and he governed with intellect and intelligence. I will rate him with fashola but he was military so he could achieve some things which will be difficult for fashola especially the "operation sweep " which was a huge success. Marwa repaired various roads and exposed the ineffectiveness and stupidity of the Oyinlola administraation. |
I just wonder why some people cannot post without trying to create arguements. This is a non arguemental post that needed positive responses but what do we get? Frizy i like your response though. |
Oh my sweet lagos is the economic nerve of the largest black nation in the world. Lagos is indeed the nations centre of Excellence, it is a place where dreams are realised, it is a city of intellectuals and the enlightened mind. It is the largest city in Nigeria and the 2nd largest (population) after cairo in Africa. Conquer lagos and you have conquered half of Nigeria. Lagos is to Nigeria what New york is to the US , maybe that sums up the explanation. |
Please it is Jakande. Most of the infrastrucuture u see in lagos today are his works apart from the ones that was built during the oil boom of Gowons era. This man is an unsong hero and an administrator of high repute. Fashola is only 2 yrs into his tenure and i will rate Buba marwa on par with him for now in my personal opinion. |
I think this question depends on where the individuals involve pray. if u go to do ur salah in a nearby masjid Then the the question applies to you as u would probably hear the adhan or know the jammah time. However if u mostly pray in your office by yourself then maybe the question will be during the fixed salah time. As every salah has a window , now in the Uk dhuhr salah has like a 4 hour window before asr sets in and the muslim can pray within this time. Having said this there is nuthin as sweet as saying all the salah in jammah and getting the full reward. |
Indecency is everywhere and muslims are not angels and prone to sin as well. Muslims are human!!!! |
Frizy:Spot on Bro. Qoolu Semi'na wa ata'na you get me bro!!! |
