The main reason why there is still a wide margin between the official rate is as follows:

Corrupt politicians who steal money and covert to FX for storage at any cost. These morons now know that it is almost impossible to keep their stolen loot in Naira or even in any bank (all thanks to BVN) so what they do now is steal naira, get the aboki guys that sell dollar to mop up dollar at any cost for them and then they keep the dollar cash stashed away in various secret locations.

Importers that still patronise the black market esp those that import some of the items on the list of banned items that CBN won't allocate dollar for. Top of this list is fish, rice, tomato paste, frozen turkey/chicken furniture just to mention a few. I read a report somewhere (can verify if the data is true though) that Nigerians smuggle raw eggs worth over 8billion monthly through our borders. 30 billion naira worth of fish monthly. I don't even want to start quoting the figure for rice These figure is true are quite alarming. I just can't begin to imagine how much jobs we are creating for the countries where these food items come from. Jobs that should be in Nigeria. Hopefully the govt's efforts at self sufficiency will help reduce this trend.

Finally fuel importers and I pray Dangote's refinery will help solve this as over4 40 percent of our FX needs is channelled towards fuel import.

Your analogies are incorrect and this is why:

In the above scenario, the politicians would be better off if dollar was low. e.g. If I steal N900, it is illogical for me to push the price of dollar up to say N450/$, so I can convert my loots into dollar and get a small amount of $2 for my troubled. On the flip side, if I pushed dollar lower, say to N300/$, that same loot of N900 will fetch me $3.

2. Those items were not bad from been imported, only that, no Forex will be allocated to it. Plus, these importers did not run to black market to get dollars at higher rates just because they love to do it. It is merely because the demands for these items by Nigerians like myself and you for these items are higher and there is no comparable local alternatives for the suppliers or that, we Nigerians have strictly dictated to these suppliers that, we want the foreign ones. WHO did not conclude that, EMR is carcinogenic. There was concerns that it might be, hence WHO undertook the reach and by default, they must class it under five broad categories.

Group 1: Carcinogenic to humans.
Group 2A: Probably carcinogenic to humans.
Group 2B: Possibly carcinogenic to humans.
Group 3: Not classifiable as to its carcinogenicity to humans.
Group 4: Probably not carcinogenic to humans.

WHO/IARC interprets Group 2B as meaning, "There is limited evidence showing radiofrequency carcinogenicity in humans and less than sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in experimental animals"

For perspective, WHO also classify Coffee as 2B.

Again, no confidentiality is involve here and none was violated. She was an accident victim, that accident happened in the public and there is no reasonable expectation for privacy or confidentiality for anything that took place in the public. The hospital is also a public place...confidentiality comes into play between an individual and his/her Doctor/Hospital regarding thing confidential matters discussed or confidential tests that are carried out.

Stop spreading lies and conspiracy theory, the privilege to vote or not to vote is not controlled by the US Executives at the White House. Obama does not have any power to grant or remove the right to vote to/from anyone.

Each State in the US have different laws regarding defranchising of released felons. In most state, felons are allowed to vote after release+parole+probation, about 15 states, including DC, you are allowed to vote immediately after release, 10 states permanently ban you from voting, 4 states allow you to vote after release+parole, only Maine allow currently serving felons to vote via absentee ballots, they never lost their right to vote...and Maine have a republican Governor.

Your 'catch and release' analogy is only applicable to Presidential pardons and for the records, Obama has pardon far fewer felons compare to other Presidents in recent history..e.g. Reagan Pardon 393, Bush Sr 74, Clinton 396, Bush Jr 189 and Obama is just 70.

So, get your facts straight, and try to do some little research before running off with those conspiracy theories.
