rudedough: [b]Why do Nigerians like to take out their frustration on innocent people?

"Being" or "Bring" are correct words so how would spell check detect an error? Just a minor switch of "e" and "r" which happens to be tightly close on the Z10 keyboard. A common mistake when typing on a virtual keyboard. Of which I've apologised for twice already.

You gave your opinion on this topic, I gave mine. I didn't challenge yours but here you are challenging mine, even my profession.

Why do Nigerians like to force their opinion on everyone? From religion to your dress sense, to lifestyle, to what you must study in school. Must everyone have the same opinion about something?

You all want the OP to spend hundreds of thousands even millions he doesn't have on his dad who has maybe a 20% chance of survival. Waiting for "God" to do a miracle. But when he dies, you all his kinsman will come around to demand for cows, tubers of yam, snuffs and drinks as your right. And have him host you a party to "celebrate" his dad's death. Even his Nigerian Pastor will demand a fee before he gives the dead a Christian burial. What a backward set of people?

I've only given a professional advice after weighing his options, and so does many other people in the medical profession on this forum. It's not being heartless but knowing when to let go. It's not an easy thing to say either but we just have to say it.

This is not the right thread to discuss about typing errors or who's lying about his profession. Just leave your bloody opinion or help and let others feel free to do the same. What is the problem with Nigerians anyway?

Civilisation and Democracy is truly not for black people.

OP I still wish you luck and/or a miracle. I'm out of here

rudedough: I use a BlackBerry Z10 and key "e" is tightly close to "r". It's a common mistake when you type on a virtual keyboard.

At the bolded. I didn't study in Nigeria and I don't intend to practise in Nigeria. So don't you worry, I'll never kill any Nigerian with my "Medicinal English Errors".
Stop lying abeg! Z10 keys are close, but have you forgotten it also has a spell check. Stop trying so hard, you're impressing nobody! You gaffed and your cover has been blown. Live with it. Liar! Oniro.

OP, I wish your father fast recovery as I know how you must be feeling. Watching your loved ones slip away before your own eyes can be traumatic. Pele

Originalsly: If so be the case then you should leave Nigeria by any means necessary....destroy all your documents linking you to Nigeria....disown your parents and relations and never ever have anything to do with the country of your birth period....let alone be on Nairaland. You are already planning to bring up your kids to bring down Nigeria. Whi,hever country you think is better....there are far worse criminals....US...UK....criminals who at home and abroad rape little children...do their citizens denounce their country because of that?....and are these the countries you want your unborn to be citizens of? Hey...just venting at the statement....not personal...many share your view.
Exactly!! He also doesn't know "You can't run away from your shadow" Fine, he can acquire other citizenship for his offsprings but he should also pray and fast that they listen to every morsel of training he gives those children. Because, if they ever run afoul of the laws of wherever they are born, they will never be referred to as citizens of that country but citizens of Nigeria. Case on point.....Micheal Adebolajo!!

They've always said, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything. And I'm positive that poster doesn't have kids. Cos he won't pass that comment if he did.

I agree with you on one thing though, I dunno why this is on front page. Obviously, the OP is chummy with the section's moderator

Ricky Rozay: OMG!!!! $200, this airport officials are criminals ooooo. See daylight robbery.

Anyways, I will do as you have said, will sweet talk em thru it in anyway possible. Me wey no dey carry last for sweet mouth. I fit even sweet mouth em, wey dem go just use vex re-schedule me go First-class for FREE. grin

Thnx dear!
You could get a first class upgrade. My friend was dumped in first class for her NC flight
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part5 by MsNas(f): 1:47pm On Nov 18, 2013
Ricky Rozay: Wow!!! This is cool. Which means US Airways and United are good then!

And I wanted to actually use US Airways, but they didn't have the perfect timing for me and they were also having lots of stopovers and will end up gettin to my destination - Minnesota very late @ night which I don't want, because I don't know anyone there.

So I settled for Sun country airlines. Got a Non stop flight with No stopovers and will get to Minnesota from JFK NewYork in just 2 hours.

I just pray those ones will reschedule me for free just incase I miss my flight like they did to your friend. I no fit let my $189 waste oooo.

IF I miss my flight, I will sweet talk em thru it like the way you did, wink but if that method no work, then I will convert to madness. gringrin
You can try and sweet talk them but it depends on how lenient the person at the counter is.

Btw, rescheduling is $200. So it makes sense to just buy a new ticket instead if rescheduling. That was why I bought a new ticket.

If you show craze for them, they'll call airport security. Lol. This isn't Naija
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part5 by MsNas(f): 7:25am On Nov 18, 2013
Ricky Rozay: Your friend that missed her flight. Did she pay a little extra fee to re-schedule OR did they charged her the price of the FULL fight ticket when she re-scheduled again?

And also which airline did she use?
She actually missed her flight cos she didn't know the difference between American Airlines and US Airways. We were there trying to check her in on American Airlines (cos she told me that's the flight she was booked on) and I was looking at her flight leaving not knowing.
She was lucky, they didn't ask her to pay for missing the flight. But i paid when I missed my AA flight.

The other flight I didn't show up for was United and they didn't tell me to pay again. The lady just rescheduled me, after we sweet talked her. So, I guess it also depends on the carrier.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part5 by MsNas(f): 6:42am On Nov 18, 2013
dolapobello1: I have a question. Instead of booking in advance and pushing the flight time backwards, is it not possible to pay for a connecting flight immediately you arrive at the POE (airport)? Or is that more expensive?

Even if it's more expensive, it can't be up to the $320 MsNas paid (in total).

It appears to me that this way, you're sure you won't miss your flight due to unforeseen contigencies in transit, and you won't be subjected to an unending wait at the Port of Entry either.
Yes you can get a flight at the airport. But that's subject to availability of seats on the flight.

Chances are, the route may be one with heavy traffic. That means fewer seats left to buy. Its a 50-50 chance.

My friend missed her flight to North Carolina and the girl stayed at the airport for almost 6hours. Cos there were no empty seats to put her in, on subsequent flights. On another side, I have deliberately missed my flight because the time it was scheduled for wasn't convenient for me and I know I'd always get a seat on subsequent ones. The human traffic on these routes determines if you'll get a seat or not.
TravelRe: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part5 by MsNas(f):
mandybaby2007: Its American Airline, they even have a flight for $83 all depends on the time, even if they charge $50-$100 for luggage twil stil be cheaper dan paying direct from lagos-minnesota. For dose already in the states or those that have been there before, abeg how long does the whole POE clearance, luggage clearance etc take? my Lagos-Chicago is ariving 5:50pm, wil i b able to make an 8pm local flight chicago-minnesota or i should push it to 9pm or last flight of 10pm, i no wan miss flight and i no wan over stay for airport doing nothing but waiting at the waiting lounge. does clearance take hours or minutes?
Please, please and please. Push your flight till 10pm. 2hrs 30mins is not enough for you. I'm assuming your going to have a stopover at Istanbul. That stopover could delay you. I was supposed to have a 6 hours layover at Amsterdam, I ended up staying there for 10hours. I missed my flight, and trust me....i wouldn't want to relive that experience. Me, fresh of the boat, with three heavy bags and disoriented. cry
American Airlines didn't even refund my $180. I ended up paying another $140

I think Chicago O'Hare airport is one of the busiest POE, so prepare for a long wait. I passed through Washington Dulles, and despite the fact that it wasn't busy, I spent almost an hour and a half before it got to my turn

OP, since the wedding is off....just do the honorable and inform her parents yourself. Give them that last respect and take time to answer their questions. Trust me, they will ask a LOT of questions, so brace yourself for that.

Inform every other person you invited about the cancellation via sms, as someone said, they will be too busy gossiping to ask you questions.

As per the Aso Ebi part, I doubt if anybody will ask for a refund for that. I personally won't as I can still wear the material other times. Pele Sogbo?
