Politics › Re: Landmark Demolition: I'm Glad I Left Nigeria - Tayo Aina by NoToPile: 3:08pm On May 01, 2024
I don't understand was any of Landmark buildings affected? Nope.

The beach front seems to be the issue, does the FG own beach front, I guess that's Yes.

Or is it not the same pictures of the demolition we are seeing everywhere.

The day a surveyor told me all lands belong to the govt and govt can come at anytime to claim any land acquired even legally with C of O and the worse is one would be paid compensation is the day I really understood all this matters.

Meaning govt can come at any time for any property(ies) to use for any purpose.

The fact that you think she's deliberately miscarrying is enough to state the kind of person you are. You stated she has had miscarriages do you know how traumatizing it must have been for her each time.

And you don't want your wife's son to be attached to her as how? When you eventually have children with her don't you want her to be attached to your children.

So true.

My ward finished from a private school and cleared his WAEC and NECO science subjects. We suspected the school helped their students to pass these exams, because the boy hardly read at home. To test him, we obtained external GCE form for him, he attempted the exam and failed all the subjects, except Civics.
They are the ones who have killed the system, except for a few who have moral standards. There are still good ones though that imbibe honesty but they are few.

Ordinarily a child who cleared Waec and Neco should be able to pass most subjects in GCE - same type of exams, maybe only in sciences where you have alternative to practicals instead of pure practical and there are tutorials you attend and resources available to tackle that one.

Let me give you an example of how bad I think it is. We know Waec exam questions leaked some time back then at least I can recall that of 2005, several papers had to be re written after students have solved leaked questions.

As bad as it is these days even if exams leak some of these students will not be able to solve leaked questions at home, they will still have to solve it for them.

There's the part of kids these days not reading and having little knowledge and there's also the role of CBTs

Passing CBTs is a skill on its own, you need speed, accuracy and then knowledge. It's not really like paper objectives. They ( schools /parents) need to train these kids more on these, that mock exams is not enough. Some people are not just good with CBTs it doesn't mean they don't have the knowledge.

One thing the top scorer last year said was that their school made them practice a lot with some exam apps. I believe these are available everywhere but some it's tiktoking they use tech for , some don't even have access to such.

It is said to cause contractions especially the local queens pineapple you have in your pix ( very yummy)

Some claim it's only when you eat the core at the center that cause it.

Some eat it nothing happens, some eat and kasala burst.
So most eat it closer to their due date.

Point is its better to be safe than sorry lots of pregnant women avoid it totally.

enter the business make you see.
you might have one gigantic turkey with the right hype and sell for good price but then having in large quantity to resell is bad business as you might end up selling at a loss or they die.
I've seen this multiple times.
there's no real market for it, why buy one turkey for 50k when you can buy 10 chicken for that same amount with much more or *2 meat value?
You have a point though, selling in quantity might be difficult.

Poultry business? I jump and pass grin

I salute those doing the business.

epainos:
Interesting. Do you think its possible to sell up to 1,000 adults 23kg turkey (those extremely big foreign breeds like Nicholas and BUT) in December? If yes, how best can one market them?
I am not a professional farmer oo. Honestly I don't have an answer to your question as I don't sell what we rear and don't even have backyard turkey at the moment, the one for 50k was bought by peeps at worke.

But 1000 is a lot anyway, for that quantity I don't have an idea of how to market it, probably those who do it for business will answer your question.

the turkey price is funny.
something that's not healthier than chicken meat wise or even commercially cos nobody would buy at that price when chicken sells lesser.
Live turkey has always been expensive so it will sell I think. Last year Dec not fully mature ones were sold for around 50k. I believe there's a market for it and it's sweet sha.
Agriculture › Re: High Cost Of Day Old Chicks. What Is The Cause? Any Solution? by NoToPile: 8:45pm On Apr 28, 2024
We buy just few chicks of cockrels from those who resell for backyard farming to kill and gift peeps at Christmas year in year out, this year price was an all time high. Was able to get around 2 weeks + old in February at 700-750, I was still lamenting it was more than double the price of last year asked few weeks back it was already 1k, sure the retailers will sell more than that now. Some weeks back the guy said 4week old turkey was 10k each.

Feed is also costing so high.

I wonder how those who are into the poultry business are coping. If those of us with backyard chicken are complaining.

Interesting thread, interesting perspectives.

You guys should not degenerate the thread to insults and keep the arguments sane, I find it amusing when peeps try to resort to snide remarks when you cant relate with another's perspective. State your counter opinion simple.

Everyone has his or her own truth pls.

My own opinion on this topic is doing hookup is bad shikena, no point trying to glorify it.

So Moshybear don't regret not joining hookup pls.

I am also of the opinion that women shouldn't settle for less in their choice of husband AND they should also have their own money. E get why.
Family › Re: Why Are Nigerian Landlords So Greedy And Wicked? by NoToPile: 5:07pm On Apr 26, 2024
If all tenants pay up their Nepa bills issues like these won't occur, you also said the landlady has abandoned the house due to tenants not paying how is she to blame here?

You now see what some landlords are passing through in the hands of tenants. They will owe rent and leave outstanding Nepa bills that is even more than the next rent you will collect from a new tenant. The landlord and the next tenant will inherit the problem.

Besides we all know never to believe agents when it come to issues like this especially Lagos agents, they will promise you what the landlord never said.

It's the agent you will still talk to because obviously the money collected from you has been used for renovation and considering the experience you claimed your landlady has with tenants she most likely won't drop shishi for that accumulated bills. So you guys can talk about how you can use part of your future rent for the outstanding, maybe it will work.

There's nothing like greedy or wicked in this matter honestly, it's the tenant that didn't pay up that is wicked.

The gym close to where I live is a No No. The ladies there are not just looking to be fit. There are modest gym bras and modest pants that dont reveal. Some ladies just choose to wear those that reveal almost everything because they are there to advertise.....
The bolded is the truth, I am really ashamed the way some ladies dress these days, if you talk now they will say you are judging.

I as a lady would be irritated if a guy is wearing a tight clinging short revealing all his gbola shape and all and would think it's disgusting.

I now wonder how a man that is moved by sight primarily would feel seeing all these unclothedness. Nigerian men are trying sha it takes a level of self control to control temptation these days.

During my own time we check out the center 2 days or a day prior especially for those of us that wrote in all these school complexes where you could have up to 5 schools. When everybody in the country is writing same day same time you want to make mistake?

You confirm and reconfirm, same for GCE.

And I was also a teenager when I wrote these exams.

It's his fault. Besides comprehensive high school and comprehensive academy are different, even a non secondary school leaver knows this.

She should have boiled with water na, it's disrespect. Where I come from whether you have money or not the elder is the elder, the younger is the younger whether you are male or female on either side it doesn't matter but then family dynamics are different, it depends on what is obtainable in your family.

The matter can never degenerate to slapping in some families but then these days that money is equivalent to respect in lots of communities I can't really say much.

I just find it disheartening that most advices are of get a job, make money etc.

It is well.

I had picked from my customer and even calculated with the normal price, she corrected me and said O ti wale and told me the current prices.

She sells wholesales and buys in bulk every now and then so she gets new stock fast.

But few sellers are effecting the change in price even as they are buying cheaper, everybody should shine their eyes don't let them rip you off.

See how the boys have descended on the thread talking nonsense.

You banned your family from having meat while you are having chicken to your fill outside which you obviously paid for, if that is not the highest level of selfishness what is?

I wonder how people are being trained these days, even elder children will always share things they were given outside with their younger ones because there's this sense of responsibility and oneness as siblings. Parents use to teach their children, we eat chicken we eat it together, we drink garri it's also together.

The values they taught us are being thrown into the gutter everyday and some people are thinking it's woke, its not really about the chicken, if he can do that with meat, then he's doing worse to his family. He's a selfish man EOD.
