I'm thankful that least even you could recognise the fact that regardless of the accepted standard worldwide, concessions can be made on exceptional grounds.

If a concession could be given the first time why not a second time over a clearly unavoidable issue?

Get your head out your ass bro.
obi58:
Is this so hard to comprehend? If approved plane had engine problems why should it be impossible to secure an expedited approval for its replacement? Or are the approving authorities on another planet?

[s]What if a plane required emergency landing approval? Would that also have required your statutory 48 hours?[/s]

Get your head out your ass bro. Rules are made for man and not the other way around. No one is disputing the fact that they are laid down procedures but those procedures can be laid down in mitigating circumstances.
With your command of English, I'm sure you must be well educated. But you obviously have either refused to read, or some flimsy political sentiments is blocking your comprehension abilities.

An official application was made and the NAF went out of its way to grant it same day. And then suddenly, there's a need to change the aircraft; whatever stops the persons involved from making another quick application?..... You keep talking about expedited approval to replace a plane, in your own wisdom, how can an approval (expedited or not) be given when no application was made?....

Is this you just trying to be an annoying online troll by deliberately feigning ignorance and making meaningless arguments or could it just genuinely be that you didnt bother reading the report before proceeding to drop comments and arguments?

Below is an extract from the report... it says up till now, no application has been made but you choose to BLAME the NAF (and by extension, govt) for not giving automatic approval?

...However, at about 5pm on 16 July 2018, the NAF was verbally informed that there was a need to change the aircraft for which permission had already been issued, reportedly because the aircraft had developed snags. The NAF, therefore, asked for another written request, in line with the established procedure. As at date, the NAF Headquarters is yet to receive a written request for the replacement aircraft...
...and by the way, please stop repeating and repeating that line about "a plane wanting to make an emergency landing." That statement has been responded to about a 100 times but you keep repeating it and proving to the world that you're simply one of those Nigerians who don't bother reading before proceeding to comment on issues. In fact, I'm done! angry

Mr Biafra how market?

If a plane had to make an emergency landing would approval take 48hours? Did they commit a sin to seek to change a plane with a fault?

What does this have to do with Biafra?

Ejooo fear God
Without going back to check, I'm very sure a couple of people on this thread (including myself) have responded to you about how concessions can be made only during air emergencies; even a presidential jet would officially seek permission before landing on any airport.

But for you to still make this meaningless comment again and again all for the sake of pointless arguments, it already speaks volumes of the kind of person you are.

You are the one being inordinately ridiculous.

Is this rocket science?

You gave plane A clearance to land at 1pm but developed engine trouble which is to be replaced by plane B.

Why should that take 48hrs?
You don't read right?

All over the aviation world, approval/permission must be sought before a plane is allowed to land on any airport. In this case, the application to land has to be made 48 hours in advance. First of all, the application for landing clearance here was even made on the same day, but a concession was given and the approval granted.

But now, you are given approval to land 'Plane A' but you for whatever reason now want to land 'Plane B', and you do not think it is necessary to seek official approval first before changing the aircraft?... Does that make any sense to you?... Or is this just a case of another Nigerian who has no regard for simple rules?

Simply not good enough if approval was issued for an aircraft with engine problems, should expedited approval not be issued for the replacement considering the circumstanceshuh If the President was to fly to Makurdi and his plane developed a fault would all these excuses be issued for the replacement?

Make Una fear God oooo
There's just this inordinate but ridiculous obsession with politicizing everything in Nigeria. All over the world, there are rules and procedures which have to be followed in doing things. Quite often, such rules or protocols could be broken for VIPs such as the presidents or in emergency situations (I truly thought this should have been common sense knowledge).

In this case, a concession had already even been made as the application which should have been made 48 hours ahead was made same day and actually honoured. But now the argument is, "why shouldn't the procedure be broken completely?.. it is political!"

Nigerians can be amusing at times.

The reason given is fair enough, but as is usually the case, politicians and political minds have already swiftly turned it to a political matter to masturbate on. Except the narrative of the NAF can be refuted by affected parties, this sounds like a simple admin issue.
PoliticsRe: Cattle Ranches: Imo House Of Assembly Begins Debate On Bill by obailala(m): 9:14pm On Jul 16, 2018
Two things I picked from the report on this thread:

1. The State HOA wants to deliberate on whether or not to establish cattle ranches. Just like several other state HOA's including Abia and even Ekiti have already discussed on this issue, the decision of the HOA will be to NOT establish cattle ranches in Imo state.

2. This is a move done by the HOA. Nowhere is Rochas' name mentioned in the report to be the sponsor or initiator of this debate. But just about everyone on the thread is obsessed with the name 'Rochas'.

The question I then ask is, what has happened to the rationality and thought process of people commenting on this thread?... This thread is a perfect example of how hate obscures reasoning and objectivity.

I think you are economical with the truth!

This is the worst so far!

INEC is made up of either Buhari's relation, family or kinsmen shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked

Common undecided

As for the election in Ekiti, I will say it again, I am not a member of "ANY POLITICAL PARTY" neither am I a fan to a "ONE PARTY SYSTEM" PDP tried it during OBJ era and we all agreed that it is not the best for our country!

What happened in Ekiti was an EYESORE! Why? If Fayemi had won in a free and fair election then there wouldn't be any problem!

Though highlighting the danger, we would have being a good sportsmen and women

There were several reports of an agent throwing acid on another while the security looked on and alot like That!

INEC, Security and APC party/agents did not address any of this undecided

APC is not different from PDP! Remind me again why was APC elected huh
All I see here are emotional lamentations. What exactly makes this election worse than 2014?.. Can you substantiate that claim with any single evidence or do just you expect an emotional submission to be taken seriously?

Where were you in 2014 when hostile looking military men were used to flood the entire state? where were you when those military men were under the direct command of Fayose, a civilian who at the time wasnt even a government official?... Where were you when soldiers were used to intimidate both voters and election agents of other parties?... An election where top ranking members of other political parties were all banned from entering Ekiti state but top ranking members of PDP were allowed to come in to bribe and intimidate voters. Where were you when official electoral observers from other top parties were chased away from collating units by soldiers under the command of Fayose and the then minister for state for defense Obanikoro?... Where were you when even as the governor of the state then, Fayemi was teargased and prevented from leaving government house?... At the time, a damning audio recording of the meeting where Fayose and Obanikoro were threatening and embarrassing a Brigadier General to do their election thuggery was released by hacks and it was all dismissed by 'non-partisan' observers like yourself but you now think Saturday's election was worse than 2014's?... You can only point out acid being poured on one PDP person's hand as evidence that 2018 was worse than 2014? How ridiculous!

Money sharing and bag of rice sharing has always been the hallmark of Ekiti elections. In this election, both the PDP and APC were freely involved in voter bribing. But in 2014, air traffic was blocked for APC bigwigs, road traffic was blocked and the few APC agents who managed to step into the state were arrested and detained; only PDP agents were allowed to do their dirty voter bribery trade at the time and the PDP won of course. Since yesterday, with the kind of nonsense wailings, gnashing of teeth and cries of "democracy is dead" that have filled the air all because PDP lost in their own dubious game, one can only imagine what it could have been like if the APC had used the military to arrest, detain and prevent PDP politicians from sharing money to voters.

I know exactly what your response will be to this comment, that Nigerians voted change but electoral processes are being flawed. Oh yes that is a fact, but you don't have to be emotionally and sentimentally economical with the truth because a party you obviously detest won in the contest of two dubious parties. Claiming that the election of Saturday was worse than 2014 is a bloody lie; the 2014 election which brought in Fayose was the most embarrassing dictatorial rape of democratic electoral processes. If you still doubt it, this evening when I get home, I can dig up old threads on this forum, youtube videos and news report to prove that to you.

Until election is determined by a separate and independent entity devoid of any power that is or would be, we will continue to speak senses into your brain!

Rubbish!
Despite reports of both PDP and APC bribing and buying votes, I'm sure you would have approved of the result/conduct of the election had the PDP won. I even heard the PDP state government which is owing some workers over 6 months arrears suddenly remembered to credit the account of state workers with N3000 a day to election. I would imagine if that same PDP had won, a lot of 'patriots' like yourself wouldn't have been saying this.

Whilst we do not still have a good electoral process in Nigeria, the fact remains that there's an improvement from what was obtainable in the past where bizarre Abuja hand written results would be announced even when voters are still queuing under the sun. The entire Ekiti election by Nigerian standard passes as a peaceful, fair and smooth process. There were very minimal reports of police or government sponsored thugs harassing any voters unlike what we got in the recent past in the same state. If the only main issue in the election was the bribing of the electorate, then any objective person would agree this is an improvement from the past.

Funny set of losers everywhere!

If Fayose was even any inch close to being a good leader, one may have been inclined to feel bad that his candidate lost. But all we got was just a kpomo cutting and buka feeding thug who spent more time insulting buhari than he spent leading his state. Of course I'm not surprised a certain group of people are pained and tearing PVCs. For these group of persons, irresprctive of the antecedents of the person, as long as he openly expresses hatred or insults buhari, such a person is automatically a revered god; no wonder even characters like FFK can be adored. This oga tears PVC, the other pours kerosene and burns his, both trending persons are from the east of the Niger and one wonders how these folks expect Ekiti people to conform to their own political wishes.

The same kpomo cutting thug who was caught on tape threatening and humiliating a Brigadier General in 2014 as his party plotted to use the military to intimidate and rig elections is now the one crying foul and expecting pity. And of course his self induced amnesia supporters are here blaming buhari and shouting "democracy is dead." Was democracy ever alive in Nigeria or in Ekiti?

Policemen are everywhere in Ekiti in 2018 but in 2014, the streets were flooded with military men directly under the command of Fayose intimidating and locking up everyone. If not for anything, we never heard of the so called policemen arresting or detaining anyone unlike the way APC agents and official observers were locked up by the DSS and military in 2014. Democracy is dead indeed!.... Two Ekiti brothers vying for a position, but some lads in far away lands expect Ekiti people must hate one because of his party and love the other because his kpomo cutting 'ThugFather' insults buhari. Such losers!

In the usual manner, vehicles are not maintained, roads are riddled with potholes at strategic positions to cause havoc, bridges have no railings, drivers are either drunk or extremely fatigued and have no regard for safety, but when mishaps like this happen, we Nigerians troop out and blame a 'flowing water' as the culprit.

Oh so you now agree with me that the same thing happened in the past administration (even worse)?... If you know this, why exactly were you intentionally attempting to distort facts in your first post by alleging that it only happened because the current guy is a military dictator? Would it have hurt you so much if you applied honesty and truth to your narrative?

The person you quoted made an open statement about power resting in the hands of the presidency, he didnt limit his statement to any particular administration. But from your appendage to his statement, you clearly and unambiguously asserted that it is happening now because Buhari is a dubious military dictator.

Absolutely, I remember what you quoted very well. Below is the statement you completed:

"I hope u all can see d power of presidency when used by a military dictator pretending to be a democrat huh"

Correct me if I'm wrong, the person you quoted alleged that power of presidency was used to manipulate the Ekiti election. You then came in and claimed it's because the president is a dubious military dictator, that's why the power of presidency was used to manipulate things. Clarify me if I'm wrong?.... I only responded to your claim by reminding of how a gentle, non-military, non-dictator also used the same power of presidency to manipulate elections in the recent past.

Presidential influence is significantly reduced; there's no way you wouldn't agree with me that that is a positive thing. With everyone being enlightened and informed these days, undue presidential influence becomes even more difficult.

But then, that wasn't even the point I tried to make when I quoted you earlier. So in essence, the senior zombie who made that statement was right, you just didnt understand his statement.
