sukkot: And so there has been this coalition right from the start that power must come down to the south but yet in that agreement is still distrust of certain factions of the northern oligarchy which was further emphasised when PDP refused to give the igbo man the running seat for the presidency and instead gave it to the Fulani man Atiku and this single move stoked the fears that the northern oligarchs are not going to honour this rotation to the south mantra and so ever the master strategist, the Jagaban made the move to counter the election of Atiku for the PDP by reaching out to the disgruntled peter obi and telling him we can bring the power to the south but you will have to be a participant and the objective is to halve atikus votes by averting all the igbo vote away from Atiku without which all igbos would vote Atiku and he would easily coast to victory and the power would remain in the north. So Tinubu pulled the strings with the labor party and had them bypass protocol and install obi as their front runner for presidency ( who else could pull off this type of move but the Jagaban himself. No way anyone would listen to obi himself trying to take over labor party, he doesn’t have that kind of clout ) . And so they put heavy media machinery behind obi to promote him as the new igbo messiah and the job was done meticulously and is a success and has succeeded in sucking away all the igbo vote from Atiku and now it is a guarantee that power is coming south. All hail JAGABAN the master strategist and thank you Peter obi for your participation. The job is done Plot twist! And the Jagaban loses in his own game as OBI proves not just to be the Igbo favourite, but also the Nigerian favourite; OBI wins the election and the Jagaban weeps profusely! |

garfield1: Most opinion polls predict an obi victory.the most prominent and reliable are anap/noi and Bantu... Both predicted obi to win se by 80%,ss by 50%,a narrow win or sharing nc with tinubu and a narrow victory for atiku in ne/nw and a 60% win for tinubu in sw....
But if we look at it statistically,it is a tinubu win.ss and se voters turnout is 6 million.average turnout in ne/ ne is 13.5 million.if assuming obi has 4 mil out of 6 million votes in se ss and Tinubu scores 5.5 million out of 13.5 mil in ne nw,he leads obi by 1.5 million.let's assume obi wins nc by 500k,tinubu's lead is down to a million.let us assume obi scores 1 mil in ne nw,they are equal.it will be down to the sw where tinubu will obviously win by at least 2 mil vote margin. In a worst case scenario, obi might have the highest votes and surely fail to get the spread.tinubu will get the spread and second highest votes and will go into a runoff with obi where he will obviously win as the north will vote tinubu even if kwankwaso and atiku endorse obi.

dustmalik: You still don't get it, do you? Any online poll you conduct today, Obi will always win, no matter whose timeline you conduct it.
If you recall correctly, in 2019, Buhari lost all polls, online and offline. In fact, when Buhari was pit against a Stone, the stone won with landslide.
Come Saturday, when votes start to trickle in from all over the country, reality is going to set in.
I expect to be insulted, as is now usual. YEah of course, OBI wins all online polls with a brutal margin because he's unequivocally the most popular candidate amongst educated and enlightened Nigerians. The only reason results can be different in the real election is because the uneducated, unenlightened and unexposed Nigerians (especially rural dwellers) will be voting too in the real elections and this group of people (who can easily be deceived by money or tribal politics) unfortunately make up a large portion of Nigeria's voting population. APC and PDP should be ashamed of themselves for relying solely on the votes of the uneducated sector to win elections; little wonder they work overtime to ensure they sustain poverty and illiteracy. #WeaponisationOfPoverty |

Saturday will clear everyone doubt Being educated or computer literate or whatever you call it, the point is that APC and PDP are relying on votes from the uneducated, mostly illiterate rural dwellers to win the coming elections. If the votes from the uneducated rural dwellers are excluded, APC and PDP combined wouldn't even smell up to 25% of total votes cast. And by the way, election one saturday cannot prove or disprove what I said cos everyone (both educated and uneducated) participates in elections. |

Nairaland (and social media in general) is full of young and educated Nigerians. Results of these polls indicate one thing - OBI is clearly the choice of educated Nigerians, and if only educated Nigerians were allowed to vote, OBI will win with a brutal margin. Unfortunately, elections are for everyone, and the uneducated and unenlightened rural dwellers mostly have never heard of OBI... and these are the people the APC and PDP are hoping on 100% to win the coming election. This 2023 presidential election is a contest between the EDUCATED vs. ILLITERATES |

What goes on on social media are mostly sharing of Fake news and propagandas People listen to "Koko inu iwe iroyin" ( radio) daily are also well informed Social media isnt the only means of sending info, but can you deny the fact that it is mainly educated people that occupy the social media space? In today's Nigeria, how many educated people listen to "Koko inu iwe iroyin" (radio)? Can you deny the fact that it's mainly people in rural areas (primarily the aged and uneducated/unenlightened)? Every time there's an online poll, OBI smashes it with a fantastic lead; an unequivocal indication that amongst the educated population, OBI is the clear choice..... After the embarrassing defeat, you BATISTS and ATIKULATORS then come up with the comforting excuse that "real voters arent on social media". Oga the only voters who arent on social media are the uneducated and mainly older rural dwellers; and these are the people your candidates hope to exploit for their victory. |

Most people Tinubu is counting on aren't people with Social Media profiles It should be a thing of shame that both Tinubu and Atiku are relying almost 100% on votes of the uneducated and unenlightened folks to win the coming election. Cos obviously, it's the educated and enlightened that you typically find on social media and OBI typically wins every online poll with a landslide of over 80%... OBI is clearly the choice of educated Nigerians and the coming election is simply a battle between Education vs. Illiteracy. |

Peter OBI is just one of a kind; I said it a while ago even before he even joined LP that OBI was the most credible Igbo candidate whom gbos could stick their necks out for. If this election had been between say Orji Kalu or Rochas or Ikpeazu or Uzodimma or Ugwuanyi against a candidate like Osinbajo, these fellows would even struggle to hit 25% of votes in the S.east. |

seunmsg: If you did not ask how Peter Obi will win Benue and z Plateau states despite other candidates battling for those states, I really don’t see why I should ask the same question. Kwara, Kogi, Niger and Nasarawa are traditional APC states even when we had a United opposition. Now that the opposition is divided, the party will win the states easily. Nigerians are out on the street begging for their own money to feed their families, and yet you think after the excrutiating hardship APC subjected these people to they would just gladly go out and vote APC again in the middle-belt? Not to even talk of the severe shege and ethnic cleansing the people of the middle-belt saw in the hands of herdsmen and the directionless and even tacit support the APC leadership gave the marauders. With all of that, you actually think these folks would queue up to vote APC or another Fulani man? |

Politics › Re: Does Obidients Really Know Where North Central Is? by obailala(m): 3:19pm On Feb 21, 2023 |
gentlekay2017: I have read more than 4 posts on nairaland.com today where Obidients claimed that their man Peter Obi will win inthe North central. They keep mentioning North central as if they dont know the states that made up northcentral. Perhaps they think northcentral is all about Plateau and Benue States. For your information dear obidients, these are the six states called Northcentral in Nigeria. 1. Kwara State 2. Kogi State 3. Nasarawa State 4. Niger State 5. Benue State 6. Plateau State I can assure you of this, Peter Obi will not get 25% in Kwara, Kogi, Nasarawa and Niger States. You can't even be sure of 25% in Plateau State notwithstanding the high number of catholic faithfuls in the state. Mark my words, the only state where Obi can see anything like 25% is Benue State where the state governor have declared for him. OBI does not need to win all 6 states to win the popular votes in the north central. Throw in all votes from the 7 north central states (i.e. 6 states and Abj), OBI is very likely to win 3 out of 7 (possibly Benue + Plateau + Abuja). Obi will also get a good chunk from Nasarawa and then some bits from Kogi and even Niger. While he might not win them, votes from the remaining states will be shared. |

XLence: Lol. I believe the many adults expressing their dissatisfaction with the hardship caused by the elites, in many different 'uncouth' and non-classic ways, are KIDS too; including the grandma that sat on the pavement of GTB entrance today. What about the grown-up GOVERNORS acting like cry babies because of monetary policies or the henchmen of the various parties who are supposed to be role models? Humans are primarily creatures of emotions than logic, and often respond in unusual ways. They're to be tolerated, not vilified. If you've ever returned a banter here, for whatever reason, then you're also a KID. The way people are emotional about this election (and rightly so), would mean most Nigerians are KIDS. Nigeria is at war with itself.
PS: Nothing will cost PO any vote than the same tribalism and religion you're afraid of acknowledging, that's our default line. However, uncouth a specialist doctor is, you wouldn't stop him from saving your life, except if you can't trust him (tribalism). Well, everyone has a right to feel emotional over their circumstances, but that doesn't change the fact that attacking others over their different political, religious, sexual or other preferences reeks of immaturity. Bad behaviour is bad behavour, regardless of the circumstances; but I agree with you that this behaviour should be tolerated, hence why I advised the Op to 'ignore' the bants (there's a bigger goal that should be focused on). Regarding the risk of costing OBI some votes, oh yes, tribalism still exists and we cannot wish away the fact that most Nigerians still have some ingrained elements of tribal sentiment which can be triggered (reason why I said the needless inter-tribal fights could cost OBI some votes). Meanwhile the example you gave about a specialist doctor is rather extreme; not everyone out there views the coming election with same level of seriousness. |

frankyychiji: Listen up, it was the hypocritical Op that called out OBIdients while ignoring the flip side. It was never you.
You only re-echoed what he said and still didn't call out the other side.
You were supporting PDP in the days of Jonathan but switched to APC after his defeat (I stand to be corrected).
If you suddenly decided to dump APC for LP, still your call, but I will not allow you or anyone here to turn logic on its head simply because he's supporting Obi. Obi is not my father.
If you that saw all the ridicule on igbos in the last eight years could spew the kind of trash you did in your opening comment, then you are a hypocrite, a fatal hypocrite.
Thanks and God's speed! Like I said before, I will state it again; bad behaviour is bad behaviour! I dont care what the precedence is, who started it, whether it happened 8 or 60 years ago or whatever. The fact is that there's a lot of online bullying of supporters of other candidates in this current season and I never said it was perpetrated by only OBIDIENTS (if that's what your problem is). I simply dropped an opinion that the OBIDIENTS are currently the 'biggest' bullies (and this is probably courtesy of the sheer/overwhelming population and zeal of OBIDIENTS online). I re-echoed the OP's point cos of something disturbing I saw this morning; i.e. some misguided fellows calling out Pastor Adefarasin for refusing to openly endorse OBI. Heck! I'm pretty sure Adefarasin is OBIDIENT but has simply chosen to remain neutral publicly (for obvious reasons bordering on his position). Why would anyone think it a wise thing to call him out? Is such behaviour meant to endear people to OBI or rather discourage undecided folks? What's the wisdom in that? ANd hey! I'm not sure what my support of APC or whoever in the past has to do with my opinion. You should be focusing on whether what I said is true or not. |
